Dutch Superior Court and Supreme Court should protect Aruba from criticism of the Natalee Holloway case

The Order of Lawyers understands the frustration of the family, but completely condemns the disproportionate criticism which has been made on certain media in regards to our judicial system. The Order of Lawyers wants for the Aruban community to have the protection, and stay protected by the Superior Court and the Supreme Court.

The following is the translated Bin Dia news article:

ORANJESTAD — Lawyer Mr. M. Schwengle, representing the Order of Lawyers took the podium during the judges’ swearing in ceremony. He observed that the Order of Lawyers is extremely worried with the Natalee Holloway situation, especially the criticisms that are affecting our island.

CRITICISM

The Order of Lawyers wanted to observe that the Public Ministry [prosecution's office] has received many criticisms in the way it gave information and even about the manner in which investigation was conducted, from various persons who do not dispose of documents of the case.

If these guys were half as concerned with properly investigating and prosecuting this case as they were with PR and tourism, this would all be irrelevent…

I’m surprised the writer didn’t take a vacation half-way into the article… seems like standard operating procedure there….

    2. Jerry on October 4th, 2005 8:25 pm

Oh, gee they don’t think any criticism is due? You don’t have to believe everything B.H.T. has said to see the insanity with the legal system of Aruba. Have they been trustworthy? No!
Have they been loyal? No! Have they been Helpful? No? Friendly?, They are just a little banana republic that does not need us.

HarryTho Tuesday Night Natalee Holloway Update And Commentary

Tonight’s a recap with a great deal of commentary, some update, and some eye-opening dialogue …

    4. Jerry on October 4th, 2005 9:20 pm

This is my opinion of what happen. Van Der Sloot ( let’s refer to him as son of paul aka son of sam, or just son of a b—h) drugged N.H. He had her picked as a target several days before this happen. Son of Sam forced her out to the car where the two dwarfs were waiting (with anchors dragging). He tried to have sex with her in the back seat, but she contravened. He had his two pervert friends (let’s call them peewee, and shrimp) drive them to his house, where he beat the daylights out of N. H. and defiled her. He then either killed her or she died of injuries she had already received. He went out to the car and told Peewee, and Shrimp and later his dad that he thought she had succumbed to a drug overdose (self induced he explained).Peewee, and Shrimp mustered the help of the porno neighbor, who enlisted the help of the disco dude on the cruse ship. They put N.H. in a suitcase and the disco dude threw her overboard, with no reverence and no prayer to God.

they can’t order people not to think about the NATALEE MISSING CASE. THEY CAN SAY DON’T TALK ABOUT IT. BUT IT IS FOREVER IN ARE THOUGHTS AND IT IS TOO LATE TO STOP THAT NOW. FUNNY HOW THEY THINK THEY CAN ORDER PEOPLE TO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. NEXT THEY WILL BE ORDERING PEOPLE TO VISIT ARUBA.

    6. Pat on October 4th, 2005 10:19 pm

This is totally bizarre! I can’t understand why these people are so worried about their reputation rather than the crime and justice. Solve the crime folks and your reputation will take care of itself; fail to acknowledge your problems and your reputation will also precede you accordingly. they are letting themselves take the fall for a handful of slimy characters.

      Isaiah 59:4
None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

    7. MRS. RAVENSWOOD on October 4th, 2005 10:41 pm

How dare these judges think they can order people not to be angry over the handling of this case. This is very apparently a COVERUP! People will not visit a country where no one has any accountability over a missing American. There may very well be a very big lawsuit against the aruban police and everyone else who conspired with the Vandersloots to cover up this crime. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!!! If you kept Joran in jail, this all wouldn’t be happening now. He is guilty–if not of murder–DEFINITELY OF RAPE. Or, is Rape one of the privileges allotted to boys in Holland and Aruba. Paul Vandersloot should be arrested for having advised the suspects to keep quiet, not talk, etc. He crossed the line and is now complicit in a crime. Maybe joran will get lucky with one of these Judges Daughters. Let’s see how they feel about Mrs. Holloway then. GIVE US JUSTICE. GIVE NATALEE HOLLOWAY BACK TO HER FAMILY. CONVICT THIS OUTRAGEOUSLY ARROGANT YOUNG MAN (JORAN) OF RAPE AND LET HIM SERVE HIS TIME. THEN…MAYBE THEN….THE AMERICANS WILL BE QUIET AND GO AWAY.

    8. SB on October 4th, 2005 11:10 pm

Great comment brenda. I agree. They are delusional.

Nancy Grace will keep talking about it……. and the world is watching. The facts (lies) exposed tonight were remarkable and shameful.

Perhaps this is karma, what goes around comes around for aruba ?? maybe…..

I think the people who run Aruba have lost their minds.

    11. Jim Hanson on October 5th, 2005 1:04 am

BT wants the US to boycott travel to Aruba. Aruba wants to boycott US criticism. Sounds like fairly even trade, don’t you?

    12. NYSOM on October 5th, 2005 3:30 am

If only they’d have been as concerned or upset about finding out what happened to Natalee as they are about their boycott…seems like their intentions are tragically misplaced.

    13. haas on October 5th, 2005 3:52 am

I refuse to go along with this boycott.in fact.i am going to make it a point to go to AUA ASAP…hopefully for spring break.

    14. Linda in L.A. on October 5th, 2005 4:02 am

No Jim…I don’t think it sounds like a fairly even trade…and doubt you do either. Even though I have not always agreed with you…I have always respected and said in here how much I respect what you say. That changed for some reason a few days back. I’m not sure whether it was you have had enough or what…but there’s been a major change in your postings.

I’ve made a decision tonight myself. I first started posting on here because I thought we could all share ideas, etc. Obviously we couldn’t solve anything…but in sharing our thoughts and ideas we could get a different perspective. But thats just not going to happen in here is it? No.

Its been depressing hearing everyone put each other down for their opinions. Its been sad to read the death threats and the jokes. This isn’t funny people??? Where do you see the humor? A family is grieving horribly. Whether or not you think they deserved it, brought it on themselves, maybe you think Natalee is off partying…whatever you think there is a major tragedy here and its just not funny.

So I have decided not to waste any more time here. And trust me…the way this blog is going…I’m quite sure some of you will have something nasty or “funny” to say about my decision. I don’t care…have at it.

For the people who are honestly trying to use this blog as a means of communication…I don’t mean to lump you in with the rest. Good luck to all of you actually. And I hope when all is said and done…you can look back and be proud of what you have done in here. We do all answer eventually for how we live our lives…from the smallest thing to the largest. Have a good time.

    15. David on October 5th, 2005 4:48 am

Now what kind of a system would let people who they obviously believe are murder suspects free to walk around with a bunch of tourists and locals to do this sort of thing again. How often do you see murder suspects released on bail, let alone personal recognizance. This is a sad day for a country whos system of justice is quite unjust. here is a quote from one their own local attorneys.
“It doesn’t imply there will be no trial. It’s a sort of bail without money. There are conditions instead of money,” Benvinda de Sousa said.

    16. Jim Hanson on October 5th, 2005 5:38 am

I’ve come to realize here that nobody reads my posts, that no-one wants them here, for the simple fact that I think realistically (I try to ok) … I attempt to stick with facts and don’t simply tell “exactly what happenned” in Aruba that morning just because I THINK that’s what hapenned. So far, I’ve read posts from many people, stating many conspiracy theories that to them are FACT, perhaps not fiction or supposition. No, to these certain people, what hey claimed happenned that nite actually happenned.

I think the furthest I’ve gone here with any accusation towards anyone invloved in this case, this morning in question, is that I feel these three kids are responsible, in some way, for the disappearance of NH. I mean, I have theories too. We all do. I don’t post them. But perhaps it’s time I did post what I feel really happenned that morning. I know no-one here cares, but what the you know … so many people simply make their mind up about what hapenned and state it as fact. So I think I will as well …

On this morning in question, Deepak had broken a high heel shoe the he was wearing at Carlos and Charlies … this happenned at 11:34 PM .. While he was out in his orange Porsche, looking for the running shoes that he’d played tennis in earlier in the day, Joran, drunk and stumbling, tripped over Satish Kalpoe’s right foot while attempting to get to the washroom, slammed his head into the dance stage, and passed out cold. On seeing this, Satish ordered 64 shots of tequila, with 6 Mescaline chasers, 36 tabs of purple microdot acid, and a .45 hangun. As Joran lay bleeding on the floor, Deepak limped back into the bar with his high heels as he was unable to locate the running shoes in the back seat of his car which was piled high with size 18 shoes that Joran kept there. He was just too drunk to see his runners in Jorans vast array of colored shoes. Deepak walked to the bartender, slammed his fist on the counter and told the bartender to give him the phone or he would immediately call the bartender’s wife and tell her that her husband was having an affair with Paulus Van Der Sloot. The bartender smiled and handed him the phone. Deepak slammed his hand once more on the counter and demanded 12 shots of Russian vodka only, and dialed a number. Satish, who had decided to ingest all the drugs as soon as they were delivered to his table, yelled to his brother, “Dee … DEE! Look at Joran” … Deepak ignored him, and continued listening to the neverending ringing on the phone. Thirty seconds later, he slammmed the phone down and pounded back his 12 shots of vodka.

Meanwhile, the half naked people on the dance floor were now dancing on top of Joran. They were all just too stoned on mescaline and acid to realize what they were doing to him.

At 12:39 am, after consuming all of the alcohol on his table, Satish appeared pale green, and his eyeballs looked as if they were being sqeezed out of their sockets by his brain. He had a yelowish liquid slowly leaking out of his ears, and he screamed “DEEEEEEEEEEEE” ….

Deepak didn’t hear his brother’s cry for help… he was too busy guzzling a bottle of Jack and trying to stand up.

1:00 am … Joran’s bleeding, bruised body was carried out on an ambulance stretcher … Satish was heard screaming his brother’s name over and over again … much louder than the music. The patrons kept dancing and dancing as Satish tried in vain to pop his eyeballs back into his head after they had fallen into the empty shot glasses that covered his table.

1:10 am .. Paulus Van Der Sloot strolled into Charlies with a joint hanging out of his mouth and screamed “JORAN, YU HAFF SKOOL EEN DA MORNIN!!!!!” …. “JOOOOORANNN .. KOMM HERE!!!!!”

1:11 am … The bartender yelled “It’s time to goooooo” … Paulus squinted his already squinted eyes even more, pulled out some cash and demanded that the bartender sell him some mescaline before the bar closed.

1:15 am … the security at Charlie’s threw everyone except the bartender into awaiting, painted scool buses outside the bar.

Ok … it’s about time I told you my theory. I want to be like the majority of the posters here … you know … be a peer …

    17. suniskye on October 5th, 2005 6:24 am

Aruba is grasping at straws now … it is almost comical to me … for 5 months we barely heard anything from those in charge in Aruba … the only statement I recall of any governmental official is the one the prosecutor made which told of Paulis’ invovlement in hindering the investigation by coaching the boys …. she said it, we heard it and Paulis is still a free man despite having interfered with the investigation. And, that is a fact that came from the prosecutor’s own mouth to reporters. There are not many proven FACTS but this is one of them.

So now 5 months later, Beth hires AMERICAN international attorneys and Aruba government officials suddenly want to form a committee to investigate the manner that this has been handled. Day late, dollar short. From the news articles that are coming out of Aruba, I would venture to say they realize the error of their ways and are now trying to APPEAR to care. They should have CARED 5 months ago and perhaps this case would have been solved and the perpetrators would now be serving time for it instead of being free to rape and murder again. If they had CARED 5 months ago, Paulis Van der Sloot would be where he should be for interfering with an investigation and coaching suspects, in JAIL.

So Aruba … I think it is too late now for you to recover from the error of your ways and the ONLY reason you appear to want to now is because the family now has AMERICAN attorneys who are going to do to you what needs to be done, legally. I for one am going to sit back and enjoy it as it occurs. For what you’ve put that poor family through, you deserve no mercy.

    18. Pat on October 5th, 2005 8:07 am

The only way I know of to boycott criticism would be to not listen to it and not repeat/discuss it. It appears they are doing neither. I guess they can slam the victim of the crime and ratchet up the rhetoric, but that would be nothing new – both sides are already doing that.

    19. John Staton on October 5th, 2005 8:45 am

The time has come the walrus said to speak of many things. Of dirty cops and evidence “lost” and no wanting to solve a thing. Of daughters given to drug and rape of sisters given too. Of boose and drugs to take and rape all for Aruban fun. Run, run to the dirty lawyers to keep everything hidden. To hide from the light what is a fright least our dirty deeds are shown. Oh no, Oh no its the ugly Americans the Arubans moan. Fear not Americans for there are no Aruban men. They give their women to the rapist gang and do nothing in return. They watch them strut and hear them brag of the drug and rape they due. Then when exposed they turn to their lawyers and yell “shut op or we will sue”!

    20. Rafael on October 5th, 2005 10:55 am

Uhhh translation…..we messed up real bad but we still want your American dollars. Sums it up. Somebody start printing up the bumper stickers. Boycott Aruba.

    21. TGALL on October 5th, 2005 11:40 am

This infuriates me! This is just more evidence that the Aruban gov’t wanted this whole thing to go away from the very beginning and for us to just forget about Natalee. IF Americans still want to go to Aruba – then I wish you all the best but make sure you don’t get into an accident or get into trouble because no matter how pretty the beaches are its still a seedy little island. The true colors are coming thru!

    22. Peapod on October 5th, 2005 11:58 am

Bumper stickers and other things on net as we write

    24. John on October 5th, 2005 12:25 pm

Well what they mean in this article is to find a way to defend our legal system in Aruba. The media with their twisted facts made our system look like incompetent. So these people want protection from the supreme court, meaning they want defense against the trashing of our system. Furthermore, they believe that the damage inflicted to the trustworthiness of our system has a relation to our economy. People who believe that our legal system is incompetent does not want to risk to go to Aruba because they beleive they are not protected if something bad happened. It is easy as that. That’s why we need protection. It has nothing to do with censoring the media, the government wanting this case to go away. Learn to interpret things before making stupid comments, please!!!

Let’s not be naive! I have been around the block a few
times, lived in the Bronx and in Beverly
Hills! I believe that the Natalee Holloway
investigation was a PLANNED COVER UP from day
ONE!! – This is also the reason why Paulus’ house was
      very intentionally not searched for
evidence right away, the cops wanted to give them time
to do away with the evidence! The cops
are not stupid there, they just played the “GAME!”
Because they were ALL protecting Paulus, the
arrests were only for show. This was proven when the
judge, a friend of Paulus released Joran,
then they both escaped thinking to be safe in Holland.
There may be HUNDREDS of negative publicity web sites
      in several languages, geared against
Aruba, they’ll be coming up like bee hives. It will
      destroy Aruba!!
The ONLY thing Aruba can do, I think – is to STOP the
      CORRUPTION – TODAY! Make ALL
the slime balls responsible for the crime they
committed on Natalee Holloway, prosecute those
who possess no mores and let the guys out of jail!

Or, it won’t be funny for Aruba when no more Americans
and Western Europeans come to the
island and when NO more cruise ship stop in Aruba !!

Should the citizens of Aruba suffer because the
governments chooses to protect a few
      criminals??

The people of Aruba need to put pressure on the police
and prosecution, or it won’t be funny……

NATALEE MUST BE RETURNED TO HER HOME COUNTRY!! NOW!!
      The choice is with Aruba!

    30. Pat on October 5th, 2005 2:07 pm

      Jim Hanson:
You are right, no one is interested in reading long, meaningless posts. I have read some from your countrymen that I felt were quite good. If you wanted to annoy us, you did. I hope you feel gratified.

      Linda In L.A.:
You will be missed for your balanced opinions!

    31. Jim Hanson on October 5th, 2005 2:44 pm

Pat .. you mentioned something about my “countrymen” … I don’t live in Aruba … where did you ever get that idea?

Linda in L.A. … Yes my attitude has changed a little. It’s tough to simply try and post your thoughts here when the majority of other posters here resemble a brainwashed, vigilante lynch mob … Justice is performed with evidence and proof .. I keep trying to say this, everyone else just keeps screaming “kill them” … “boycott” … “this is what happenned but I have no proof!!!” … “it was a cover up!! But I have no proof” … “Beth said this, so it’s a fact but without proof” … “this is what happenned, because I’m brainwashed and can’t think for myself …. ”

Does any of this sound familiar? Theories are theories. Not fact. I say, keep your theories to yourself. I stay objective about this whole crummy mess. Is that against the law too?

In other words, I’m a person who doesn’t accuse people of murder, rape or anything else unless I have PROOF … is there something wrong with this. I’m not agreeing with the US or Aruba right now. Can I do this please?

Anyway, speaking of what I mentioned about Aruba’s reaction to the proposed boycott on them … it being a fair trade and all … you should learn to read between the lines. All I mean by that comment is this. Let’s pretend the NH doesn’t even exist and simply look at a basic fact of life … When someone pushes someone too far, whether it’s right or wrong … instinct tells people to PUSH BACK.

Does this objective statement still make me look like I’m an “Aruban”?

Jeez … I’m sure happy I think for myself.

    32. Prima on October 5th, 2005 2:54 pm

If there was no conspiracy to cover up evidence, DNA samples thrown out, main suspects released to roam freely as they please, to allow Pal Vd S to keep the police from searching his property, if official statements had not been changed, etc…. The public at large would not think the Aruban/Dutch judicial process/system and the Aruban police are corrput. They can condemn all they want to. They condemned Beth Twitty for calling Depak a “criminal” and had their little hate fest.
Seems they are getting worried about tourism. Oh well, they asked for it, they condoned the injustices that have occured, and are doing little to nothing to find Natalee. They partied when Joran was released, his fan club was waiting to greet him.
Tough! Get over it Aruba…… your reputation is damaged and it is by your own hand, not Beth Twitty’s. The entire world has seen what is giong on in Aruba, facts are facts….

    33. Jim Hanson on October 5th, 2005 2:54 pm

PROOF, people. PROOF. Why don’t you posters here who make ridiculous statements with no proof go and accuse your friends and family for a few weeks of things you THINK they did without any proof … Believe me, you’ll see after a few weeks how much they respect you. Try it. Perhaps then, you’ll think twice about spreading “ideas and supposition” about people’s actions in a forum like this.

    34. John Staton on October 5th, 2005 3:50 pm

John, your criminal legal system as practiced in the convoluted Aruban environment seems capricious at best. By all appearances, it is based upon privilege not upon a search for justice and truth. Believe me what has transpired over the last 4 months will give cause for thought for anyone looking at an investment in anything Aruban. Investors do not like the idea that their interests would be unprotected by a system such as we have observed. It is quite an easy jump to believe that anyplace where you can get away with gang rape and murder based upon social privilege to believe that an outside investor would fare just as badly. Money talks and Aruba better start listening.

    35. Susan on October 5th, 2005 4:19 pm

better late than never. if this committee is anything more than more bs, and can find a way for the case of natalee holloway to be solved, natalee sent home where she belongs, and the people who harmed her and perverted the system to protect themselves from punishment are put in jail. everything can be put back in order. the island will be considered safe for visitors again and things can return to normal. except for the very large black hole in the lives of everyone who loved natalee so much.

    38. John Staton on October 5th, 2005 4:49 pm

Use Google, Boycott Aruba Now! gets you Shop the Right Conservative Republican. They sell everything.

    39. kate on October 5th, 2005 9:45 pm

Have to wonder what the intelligence quotient for the average Aruban gov’t official would be? Do they think that they can influence the world’s media outlet by threatening? Threatening what? Are they going to “ban” all Americans or all journalists from their “island paradise” that is “full of “closets filled with skeletons”?

Shaking my head in disgust! The true flavor of Aruban politics is coming to life!

    40. ben on October 3rd, 2006 5:50 am

I dont need a video,of the rape and murder to know joran his father and the kalpos killed her, there action afterwards says it all.If the dutch goverment put as much time trying to solve this case and less trying to tell us how to think they might solve it.BOYCOTT ARUBA.
