Taking the Concept of Fire & Brimstone too Literally

Rev. Harold Hunter and Patricia Hunter were arrested yesterday and are being charged with arson in a fire that gutted their church last week.

The Monday arrests of The Rev. Harold Hunter and Patricia Hunter came just one day after the pastor gave a sermon in which he said he prayed for the “sick, sadistic” person who burned down the church. No one was hurt in the blaze.

I guess the lesson learned for potential arsonist is make sure you you don’t sill the gas everywhere before setting fire to the dwelling.

“We found some gas that was located on the pastor’s shoes and we also found clothing in the residence that had gasoline on it,” said Summerville Police Capt. Craig Legates.

I hope they’ve got more than that. Gasoline isn’t exactly a rare substance — a malfunctioning shutoff valve on a gas pump could account for finding it on somebody’s shoes and clothing. Don’t ask me how I know, you can figure it out.
