New Faces – Business Blogs

Scared Monkeys typically focuses on politics. But the blog world has many faces. Today I want to give you a few of my favorite business blogs. They are an amazing collection of leaders in the Sales, Marketing, PR, Motivation, and Venture Capital worlds. Go visit some of them. I guarantee you will learn something from everyone of them.

So, Here we go!

Tom Peters – Motivational Guru and Author

Seth Godin – Author and Marketing Trainer. Seth also has any new site to help launch his new book, All Marketers are Liars.

Mark Cuban – Entrepreneur , Owner of the Dallas Mavericks and founder of Broadcast.com

Brand Autopsy – Paul Williams and John Moore are Starbuck veterans who are great at finding the more interesting trends in marketing

A VC – Fred Wilson has been a Venture Capitalist for the last 20 years or so. Great eye for the tech industry.

Venture Chronicles – Jeff Nolan is a VC on the west coast. A heavy poster with his ear to the ground. Great writing style.

I heartily recommend these blogs for great reading on a rainy weekend afternoon.

Bush Boo’ed at Pope’s Funeral, Maybe…

Out of 3,500 reporters on the scene of the Pope’s funeral, most hostile to the US, almost all hostile to George W. Bush, 2 heard booing when George W Bush’s image came up on the big screen.

Wizbang has the story on it.

The wonderful unbiased press would never make up a false story to weaken our President, would they?

Jim Jeffords caught on tape

Jim_JeffordsDriving back from an appointment and listening to the Sean Hannity Show, I heard a recording of Senator Jim Jeffords caught on tape. It was amazing. I am unable to find a transcript, but the general idea of the conversation hit these points.

  • The war in Iraq was all about oil and re-election.
  • The Bushes will fight a war at a moments notice to help one of their families political fortunes.
  • The Bushes will fight a new war to get Jeb elected president in 2008.

I wish I had a transcript. To hear a sitting Senator says such things in public is atrocious and a little bit scary. When one of our enemies abroad thinks about doing something that could instigate an attack, they will invoke sitting Senator Jim Jeffords.

What a shame this man is in office.

UPDATE: Here is an article from the Valley News that has much more information on what Jefford’s said. Also Wizbang is on the hunt.

“C” Is For …. Carrot???

What is the name of all things scared to my youth has PBS done now? Surely there must be another way to explain to children about eating healthy other than destroying my childhood image of the Cookie Monster? Who can’t remember that lovable blue fur-ball devouring a bag of cookies and as all the cookie crumbs flew everywhere?

“C” is and will always stand for COOKIE!!!

I had heard this story the other day but it slipped my mind until I was so devastatingly reminded today. A hat tip to McGehee at Yippee-Ki-Yay for reminding and saddening me both at the same time.

What is wrong with this picture? A Cookie Monster surrounded by Vegetables. The Celery Monster? The Tomato Monster? The Brussel Sprouts Monster (Oh, kids will love that.)

What’s next? Are they going to tell me, “Its not easy Being Green“?

Looks like OTB has got on the story too. Too bad he didn’t come here first.

Tipping Point? What’s the MSM Going To Say Now

I believe this would be the definition of a Tipping Point. It is about time all begin to understand who stands for peace and democracies for everyone.

Let’s just hope the MSM gives it as much attention as they do anti-war rallies.
