John Kerry’ s Don Quixote attack on John Bolton
The internationalist strikes again. JohnKerry.com is buying Google Ads to stop John Bolton’s nomination to be Ambassador to the United Nations. He has an ad directing you to his web site to contact Senator Lincoln Chafee to vote against the nomination. I know that it is convoluted, but hey, it is John Kerry we are talking about.

I have a big smile on my face that I helped keep Kerry from being President. The thought that he is spending part of his multi-million dollar war chest from the election on drivel such as this, and thinking that he can influence Senator Chafee is amusing. I sincerely hope that Senator Chafee will not be influenced by such partisan chicanery.
UPDATE: Even better, Kerry’s web site has created an secondary advertisement to go after Chafee . See it here.
UPDATE 2: Just got a call back from Senator Chafee’s office from his Press Secretary Stephen Hourahan. I asked him if Senator Kerry’s attempt will have any influence on his decision. Stephen said it was a one word answer. No.
Good for you Senator Chafee and staff.
UPDATE 3: Here is an AP article on the Kerry ads.

I don’t have much regard for Lincoln Chafee, but he did pass up an opportunity a few years back to aggrandize himself at the expense of the caucus — don’t remember the details but I’m pretty sure it was about Trent Lott’s foot-in-mouth moment at Strom Thurmond’s 100th birthday party — and in doing so gave me the indication that Lott was, in fact, about to go, and Chafee was going to stay with the GOP.
Still, it’s easy to get overly cynical about RINOs like Chafee, and I’ve got this nagging feeling that there are two ways to take Hourahan’s answer.
