More Liberal Humor. Or is it Hate?
Its just another example of that liberal tolerance. Its probably also another example why the Democrats will not win another election any time soon. Or possibly the reason why hate acts have become a common occurrence on college campuses?
Take a look at what they are selling these days in the name of humor. Or is it HATE? Hmm … telling a member of the US Government … “to please commit suicide.”
THAT WILL WIN YOU THE MODERATE AND INDEPENDENT VOTE.
This coming from the same type of people representing the Democratic Party that brought us the comment that they wanted to see Henry Hyde stoned to death.
They are so proud of their T-shirt that look what happens now when you try to order it.
Hmmm … product cannot be found. I wonder why? Could the hate on the LEFT be any farther over the edge of insanity? Why would any common sense minded individual ever vote for candidates that these people back? Think about this the next time you vote.
With marketing like this is it any wonder why acts like this occur that Michelle Malkin writes about?
UPDATE: H/T: Byrd Droppings and Kitty Litter: Can we still order?

What absolute drivel. We had right wing wackos trying to implicate Bill Clinton in multible assassinations, drug dealing, etc etc. Stop your bitching, and take your medicine.
Keep it up Patrick … You ever wonder why the Democratic Party is 0-3 in the last three elections, lost House and Senate seats as well?
Think about it? Look where it got the Republican party when they did what you just said? 8 years of Clinton. So you have an example of what can happen and the LEFT flies off the handle with pure hatred and insanity.
Keep up the good work and you will find yourself with a 60 seat Republican Senate.
Hate does not change anyone’s mind. “Absolute drivel” – I’m not the one proposing someone commit suicide. If you can’t see that is wrong, you have real problems in life.
“Stop your bitching, and take your medicine.” Gee Patrick what are you proposing the medicine is suicide? Why do you think Democrats & Independents are running from this type of hatred? No one wants to be associated with it. Wrong is wrong, no matter what side does it.
Take my medicine, comical. Ever take a real good look at the political landscape lately?
Go here instead to counter the “humorous” Liberal left.
I will not be lectured to by people who spent eight years trying to destroy a democratically elected President. And who diparaged all who hold the Purple Cross to win an election. As a conservative you do not have to look far for hate, it is alive and well in the republican party.
There are hate filled people on the fringes of both sides of the political spectrum. The proper course of action, as I see it, is for reasonable individuals to determine the best methods for solving the problems facing America and persue them. We should reject those who foster hate and violence towards our own and agree to disagree.
Purple heart
Patrick, by the tone of your comment, no I do not really have too look to far to see hate. Not at all. Exactly who is lecturing to you? This is called an open forum and a free flow of ideas?
“I will not be lectured to by people who spent eight years trying to destroy a democratically elected President.”
I agree. Who are you referring to GWB? Gore, Kerry and the rest of the Dems still think they have had the elections stolen from them.
The topic is “WHY Libs feel the need to market hate” and how that creates an impact on the left. It has gotten out of hand and is becoming ridiculous. Its only destroying your Party. No one, no matter what side wants to associate or ally themselves with lunatics.
Disagree with someone, fine. Be against their policies and intelligently debate, fine. Wish out right harm and death upon someone, I do not think so.
Please tell me who has done this on the right? Do not confuse federal indictment with HATE. Do not confuse policy differences with HATE.
Louise,
There are hateful people on the fringes on both sides, the problem is that the fringe Left side is creeping in to and has already gotten to be what is now considered the Democratic Party. Have you seen the comments that main stream Dem politicians have said lately?
Why shouldn’t college kids think its OK to take away someone’s right to freedom of speech by throwing a pie at them, look at what is going on in the Party? There is something seriously wrong when MoveOn.org sponsors so many Democratic events.
It is right to call out the hate on both sides, but these days the pendulum has swung way left. Personally, they are only hurting themselves. There is a reason why Independents moved away from Dems. There is a reason why strong hold Democrat voting blocks have done so as well.
HATE IS NOT A POLICY.
Instead of crying over a T-Shirt, you should be asking, “Why is Tom DeLay in trouble?”
Is Ethics the real problem or is it the way Republicans see things?
If their leader can lie to a Country and get away with it, why shouldn’t the underlings do the same, on a smaller scale?
He’s already been protected from losing his job, in the open. The only way he can lose hid job, is if his party feels his antics will hurt them as a whole.
Red. Try to keep up. Bush has not been in office for eight years, so it would be obvious to even the meanest intellect that it was not him I was reffering to. When you clean up the cess pool of hate within the republican party, call me.
Patrick – try to keep up it’s called humor. I know that none exists today in the Democratic Party. That is kind of the point. What is up with you guys that you are so blinded by hate? I am really being serious. Don’t you understand that hate will get you just the opposite from what you want. Blind rage accomplishes nothing.
You really do not understand how people think out there. I am not stating this from a Republican view point. Trust me, I blasted plenty a Rep for going to far and winding up with 8 years of Clinton.
However, your tone alone and intolerance of another view point is exactly the perception problem of the Dems. “Try to keep Up”. You are humorous. You have absolutely no idea whom you might be typing to or what my qualifications are on the topic and you make a snide comment like that. That is the hateful lack of dialog that I refer to.
Could you reference the cesspool of hate you refer to? As I have said, do not confuse policy and ideological differences with hate.
David
Who is crying? Frankly, this type of marketing does more for Republican fund raising than if it did not exist. Unfortunately, it also sends a terrible message that condones such behavior as OK.
David, the point being if one has a ethical issue with someone, you do not wish they kill themselves. I would like to think we as American’s can agree on that. Its pretty pathetic if we cannot. As for ethics violations and a partisan prosecutor in TX thats another story. That will come out in the wash; however, Dems best be very careful the line they cross.
Newt isn’t around, they can’t hurt GWB, so they pile on Delay. Ethics are a pretty tricky thing in DC. Isn’t “Political Ethics” on the list of one of the shortest books on record? Right ahead of Great French military victories and Women Michael Jackson has slept with? (To Patrick: this would be another joke.)
In all seriousness, what ALL politicians do is suspect. Writing books while in office, questionable fund raising, etc. The Dems dream girl Hillary Clinton best hope this not go too far with the FUND raising issues she has in her closet.
Let’s be serious David, most all politicians wouldn’t be in office is their ethics were looked in to. Overly abusive issues should of course on both sides.
“If their leader can lie to a Country and get away with it,”
As stated earlier, Am I supposed to fill in the blank here? You could very easily be referring to Clinton, Nixon, LBJ, etc.
Insane Left
They lost the election, and they just can’t get over that fact
Red. Stop playing the victim.
Patrick, playingg the victim? There is a future in comedy for you.
Who’s playin’ the victim? Its already been stated in these comments that this is about GWB not DeLay. You guys just cannot get over the fact he won. It drives you guys nuts to the point that you lose focus on the real goal.
I still hear comments about Gore in 2000. Who’s playing the victim? Kerry just commented the other day that it was those Wascally Wepublicans that used trickery to win. Who’s the victim?
Frankly, that word is not in my vocabulary.
Red. Then you need to broaden your vocabulary.I was not that amazed that Bush won, when you have the power of the media behind you as Bush did, it is very hard to overcome. Add to that the lies and hate that came from the swift boat liars. By the way I did not mention Tom DeLay in any of my posts, but since you did, there is a man consumed by hate.
Patrick
Why is it that you cannot do one single post without a hateful comment?
“Then you need to broaden your vocabulary.”
Don’t you understand that only turns people off? As a matter of fact I asked what was the hateful Republican’s examples and have heard nothing from you but insults and Wise a$$ comments. Which is pretty typical of what the LEFT considers a debate today.
“Bush won, when you have the power of the media behind you as Bush did, it is very hard to overcome.”
You really need to come down off the ledge. What media did GWB have behind him? CBS that tried to lie about a story of forged documents right before an election? Last time I looked CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and CNBC were all liberal. I’ll give you Fox slants right, but that is one out of seven.
Please do not tell me you have found conservative newspapers other than the NY Post and WSJ. And then I guess TIME and NEWSWEEK have suddenly stopped being liberal?
If the MSM had ever presented a fair version political accounts GWB would have won 70-30. It was the editor of NEWSWEEk that said the MSM was worth 10-15 points to John Kerry. http://www.mediaresearch.org/notablequotables/2004/nq20040719.asp
Media Will Put Kerry Over the Top
“Let’s talk a little media bias here. The media, I think, wants Kerry to win. And I think they’re going to portray Kerry and Edwards — I’m talking about the establishment media, not Fox — but they’re going to portray Kerry and Edwards as being young and dynamic and optimistic and all. There’s going to be this glow about them that some, is going to be worth, collectively, the two of them, that’s going to be worth maybe 15 points.”
— Newsweek Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas on the July 10 Inside Washington
What was that about the media & W?
Where can I get one of those T-shirts? I undersatnd how corrupt DeLay is and I would like him to commit suicide. Please tell me where I can get one.
Regarding Malkin’s article on the “liberal left” (a term I have to never understood any more than whatever a “christian right” label is supposed to mean) and CafePress, curious as to what people would say to this product on a Republican CafePress created site:
http://www.cafepress.com/republichc.19653595
A product that encourages people to shoot at a past President? I guess one can make a distinction that it’s for toy guns or darts, but at what point do you draw the line when the message is about taking aim at a U.S. President, Senator or Representative, past or present?
Red. It makes no sense for me to recite the litany of insults heaped on President Clinton and his family from the day he took office until the day he left, when he was accused of stealing white house furniture, and his staff was accused of trashing the white house. It is hard for me to beleive that you are unaware of any examples of the hate leveled on Clinton.
The parties can compete with each other, argue with each other, even hate each other, but when anyone promotes the death of another human being they have gone too far. There are nuts out there willing to take these suggestions seriously. Anyone who thinks these T-shirts are okay, has some serious walls built around their humanity.

“…litany of insults heaped on President Clinton and his family from the day he took office until the day he left,”
You are going to compare insults to promoting physical harm, violence and death? You have a bizarre sense of priority. One can just be shrugged off, the other will get you in a world of hurt.
By the way … some of the things you mentioned as hate … ahhh … actually happened. How is it hate if its the truth? Things were taken by the Clinton’s. They have even said so claiming they thought they were theirs. Parts of the White House were trashed.
That is not hate. Blind hate may have been the manner in which they went after Clinton, but many of the acts that you would claim were hateful, Clinton did.
Of course there were conspiracy theories of other things … do not think anyone promoted pic promoting death. If they did show me. That would be wrong too.
Happy,
You would be correct. No one thinks that anyone has to love or like one another, but to promote violence & death is sick. It does cross the lines of “yelling fire” in a movie theater or “bomb” in an airport. See how much trouble that gets one in.
This is the point where the liberal left becomes the “insane” Left.
The problem being is that many in Congress pander to this block. There will come a point where some nut job, unfortunately, does act upon more than by just throwing a pie in some one’s face.
Now I know why she doesn’t allow comments on her blog. She speaks for both conservatives and liberals, and carries the whole conversation herself!
If you believe her diatribe accurately represents liberals in this country, then I’ve got a bridge over the Tigris to sell you.
t0m
Who do you speak of with no comments? Michelle? You have the ability to speak your mind on a topic of hate marketing and how it is affecting the political discourse of insanity of the LEFT and you chose to complain about something that is only linked to from this site? How about addressing the topic?
“If you believe her diatribe accurately represents liberals in this country, then I’ve got a bridge over the Tigris to sell you. ”
No, I believe my diatribe accurately represents liberals in this country.
t0m, please tell me in recent years what the Left has gotten right? What have they won? What has their blinded hatred of GWB gotten them except losing elections and more Senators, Representatives, Governors & State Houses? Which will in turn translate to judges.
What accurately represents Liberals except being on the losing and wrong side of every issue? I some how doubt you ever though that the Democratic Party would be in this position when Clinton was first elected.

t0m, please tell me in recent years what the Left has gotten right?
- There are no WMD in Iraq, and no active WMD programs (I was wrong, I thought there were)
- Protracted insurgency in Iraq (I thought they’d have a working government in the first year)
- Bush’s tax cuts cost over a trillion in new debt (duh)
- Bush’s missile diefense system still doesn’t work
- Social Security needs reform (Clinton said this years ago)
- Bosnia/Kosovo (democratic, no insurgency)
- Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon (negotiated by UN)
- Palestinian elections (as per Oslo accords, which Bush had nothing to do with)
- Trading arms for hostages is bad
- Supporting death squads is bad
- US should intervene to stop genocide (Clinton aplogoized for his inaction, Bush still doesn’t agree with this premise)
- Promoting worldwide democracy (Bush changed his mind on this one)
- Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are not our allies (just ask A.Q. Khan)
- Tora Bora (turns out bin Laden was there after all)
- Enron was manipulating energy markets
- Environmental regulation (even Republicans admit the air and water are much cleaner now than in 1970)
You don’t want an honest debate if you respond to every criticism with, “that’s just blind hatred.” There are plenty of valid criticisms, and plenty of invalid criticisms on both sides. To dismiss either as “blind hatred” is sticking your head in the sand.
Also, despite Ronald Reagan’s assertions, the Taliban are not the “Moral equivalent of our founding fathers.”
How’s that for being on the wrong side of the issue?
tOm
For every action there is a reaction. What you consider terrible may not be considered the same on the other side. Of course there are certain things that happen in life that are just plain wrong. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
There are no WMD in Iraq, and no active WMD programs (Why did Dems vote for war then? They all believed in intel they were given including Kerry & Clinton. Your boy spoke of this years earlier. Being a Monday morning quarterback is convenient.)
Protracted insurgency in Iraq (I thought they’d have a working government in the first year) – Anyone who thought that is a fool. Kind of like the US had a working government after the Revolutionary war, or Germany after WWII, etc.
Bush’s tax cuts cost over a trillion in new debt (duh) – yeah and it also prevented the recession that your dot.com President left this country in his last year. You would be whining about the bad economy if it had not been passed. You know worst economy since Hoover an all, whatever.
Bush’s missile defense system still doesn’t work – yeah this is something to be against with Clinton allowing technology to be given to China. You had better hope this works.
Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon (negotiated by UN) – (YOU ARE A COMEDIAN TOO. SYRIA GOT OUT BECAUSE THE PEOPLE SAW WHAT FREEDOM & DEMOCRACY LOOKED LIKE IN IRAQ & AFGHANISTAN. THAT WAS SIGNED 18 YEARS AGO, WHAT DO YOU THINK GOT THEM OFF THEIR ASS? Talk about intellectually dishonest?
Social Security needs reform (Clinton said this years ago) -(YEAH, CLINTON TALKED A GOOD GAME ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS AND DID NOTHING, TALK IS CHEAP.)
Palestinian elections (as per Oslo accords, which Bush had nothing to do with) – you really got to take your act on the road, very funny. Even every MSM newspaper has published reports that “Maybe, Bush was right”. You Libs need to figure out that talking and signing things means nothing without a strong willed person behind it. Especially in the Middle East. GWB provided the catalyst for events to occur.
Whether you were affected or not by the events of 9-11, the rest of us were. And some of us personally. Nation building and promoting Democracies were a direct result of that event. The fact that GWB is creating a possibility for the first time that there may be a chance for Democracy in the Middle East should be applauded by all. Is it perfect, not at all. There is a long way to go. But it is a start to something better than exists today.
The fact that you and the Libs cannot give credit to a person who stuck his neck out on the line is really amazing. But what would I expect. Libs & Dems did not even have the courage to nominate Howard Dean. The person who actually symbolized the party and their view and instead chose a fool like Kerry who stands for nothing. I may not like or agree with Dean, and I certainly would never vote for him, but at least he had the balls to stand for something.
As i have previously said t0m, you can debate the issues and we can disagree. That is never an issue. What you cannot do and this is either side, if wish or want someone dead. That my son is a problem and should never be tolerated by anyone. To embrace that type of garage is blind hate.
Dammit, I was the impetus for this thread and now you’re all off talking about something other than the DeLay Suicide shirt. Well, As you know by now, I willingly removed that shirt from sale.
But I got hundreds of emails from polite republicans saking me to sell a shirt that says “Dear Chris Goodwin, Please Commit Suicide. Sincerely, Everyone”.
Well, it’s available now at http://www.cafepress.com/goodwinart, along with some more anti-DeLay shirts.
Cheers,
Christopher Goodwin
Good Marketing Christopher.
However, in the long run, following this advice is probably not the best things for long term sales.
Tom
Christopher,
I would have to concur with Tom. Selling your “Dear Chris Goodwin, Please Commit Suicide. Sincerely, Everyone” may be good for short turn results but that business strategy would not appear to have long a long term upside.
Look at the bright side though. If you pass the business on to your heirs they wound have to pay an estate tax now.
On a more serious note. I have no issue with anti-De Lay marketing as long as it does not condone, insinuate or promote violence or death. Simple as that. We are capitalists on this site, but there are some rules.
