From the Divider in Chief: Barack Obama Says If He Owned the Washington Redskins He Would Think About Changing the Name

PRIORITIES from the Community Agitator …

With a US economy on the skids, record number of Americans on food stamps, a government shut down, a pending debt limit default and a national debt about to go over $17 trillion … President Barack Obama returns to his divisive ways and thinks discussing the name of the NFL Washington Redskins is some national, important issue. Barack Obama told the AP that is he was the owner of the Washington Redskins, he would think about changing their name. For one sir, you are not their owner so basically your opinion means nothing. You would think that Obama would be more concerned with not barricading WWII memorials and preventing ‘Our Greatest Generation’ heroes from visiting a memorial that honors them. But no, Obama goes back to discussing racism instead.

Since Chief Shitting Bull has already been taken, maybe we can refer to Obama as Chief Who Speaks With Forked Teleprompter

President Barack Obama says he would “think about changing” the Washington Redskins’ name if he owned the football team as he waded into the controversy involving a word many consider offensive to Native Americans.

Obama, in an interview with The Associated Press, said team names such as the Redskins offend “a sizable group of people.” He said that while fans get attached to the names, nostalgia may not be a good enough reason to keep them in place.

“I don’t know whether our attachment to a particular name should override the real legitimate concerns that people have about these things,” he said in the interview, which was conducted Friday at the White House.

An avid sports fan who roots for his hometown Chicago Bears, Obama said he doesn’t think Washington football fans are purposely trying to offend American Indians. “I don’t want to detract from the wonderful Redskins fans that are here. They love their team and rightly so,” he said.

US Military Special Forces Carry Out Raid in Somalia & Libya

The New York Times is reporting that US Special Forces are said to have been involved today in two raids in Africa, one in Somalia and the other in Libya. Special Forces in Libya are said to have captured Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai and known as Abu Anas al-Liby. The al Qaeda leader was wanted for his role in the deadly 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa.

In the second raid, US Navy Seals in Somalia targeted  a senior leader of the Shabab, the Somali terrorist group who has planned the terror attack a little over a week ago at a Nairobi shopping mall that killed more than 60 people.

American commandos carried out raids on Saturday in two far-flung African countries in a powerful flex of military muscle aimed at capturing fugitive terrorist suspects. American troops assisted by F.B.I. and C.I.A. agents seized a suspected leader of Al Qaeda on the streets of Tripoli, Libya, while Navy SEALs raided the seaside villa of a militant leader in a predawn firefight on the coast of Somalia.

In Tripoli, American forces captured a Libyan militant who had been indicted in 2000 for his role in the 1998 bombings of the United States embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. The militant, born Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai and known by his nom de guerre, Abu Anas al-Liby, had a $5 million bounty on his head; his capture at dawn ended a 15-year manhunt.

In Somalia, the Navy SEAL team emerged before sunrise from the Indian Ocean and exchanged gunfire with militants at the home of a senior leader of the Shabab, the Somali militant group. The raid was planned more than a week ago, officials said, after a massacre by the Shabab at a Nairobi shopping mall that killed more than 60 people two weeks ago.

UPDATE I: As reported at Legal Insurrection, there there is conflicting news regarding the raids, news outlets are confirming that an Al Shabaab leader was a target of the raid, reports about whether or not that target was captured or killed are conflicting.

UPDATE II: CBS News – Embassy bombings figure nabbed by Delta Force in Libya.

U.S. special forces on Saturday carried out a raid in the Libyan capital to capture an al-Qaeda leader linked to the 1998 American Embassy bombings in East Africa and wanted by the United States for more than a decade, U.S. officials said. The news of the capture was previously confirmed by CBS News.

The Pentagon identified the al-Qaeda leader as Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, known by his alias Anas al-Libi. His capture would represent a significant blow to what remains of the core al-Qaeda organization once led by Osama bin Laden.

The Pentagon’s chief spokesman George Little said al-Libi “is currently lawfully detained by the U.S. military in a secure location outside of Libya.” He did not disclose further details.

A senior U.S. military official said the raid was carried out by the U.S. Army’s Delta Force, which has responsibility for counterterrorism operations in North Africa. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to speak publicly.

Gallup Poll: Barack Obama Approval Rating Drops to 41% … 52% Disapproval

According to the most recent Gallup poll, President Barack Obama’s job approval rating has fallen to 41% with a 52% disapproval.

Could the government shutdown, the pain that Obama is trying to inflict on Americans like WWII vets, and the absolute disastrous roll out of Obamacare he the reason why Obama is seeing extremely negative job approval numbers? The RCP average off job approval polls has 43.7% approve and 50.9% disapprove. There is a reason why they call Obama a “community” agitator … and what he is doing now during the government shutdown is simply disgusting.

Here’s to you America!!!

It’s the Chicago way … Barack Obama and Democrats are trying to cause as much pain to Americans as humanly possible in this government shutdown and it may come back to bite them in a major way. More importantly, it better.  A Park Service ranger spoke out against what he called “disgusting” tactics.

“It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

What a joke … 99% of Obamacare applications hit a wall.

It’s a batting average that won’t land the federal marketplace for Obamacare into the Healthcare Hall of Fame.

As few as 1 in 100 applications on the federal exchange contains enough information to enroll the applicant in a plan, several insurance industry sources told CNBC on Friday. Some of the problems involve how the exchange’s software collects and verifies an applicant’s data.

“It is extraordinary that these systems weren’t ready,” said Sumit Nijhawan, CEO of Infogix, which handles data integrity issues for major insurers including WellPoint and Cigna, as well as multiple Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliates.
