Search & Rescue Underway for 4 Individuals of Learjet 35 that Crashed into the Ocean off Fort Lauderdale, FL Beach Tuesday Night (Update: 2 Dead, 2 Missing)

 

According to Flightaware, a Mexican-registered Learjet 35 took off from the airport in Fort Lauderdale, FL on Tuesday; however, crashed soon after in the Atlantic Ocean about 3 miles from the coast. The FAA said that the jet went down about four miles off the coast. The Learjet had a tail identification of XAUSD.   The jet was a medical flight was bound for Cozumel, Mexico after having dropped off a patient. There were four people on board, including 2 pilots, a doctor and a nurse. As per CNN, the two medical staff members worked for Air Evac International and the pilots worked for a chartered company.

Shortly after take off there was a distress call (audio) from the jet.

A distress call from one of the pilots came just moments after takeoff.

“We have an engine failure,” the pilot said.

An air traffic controller asked him to turn left and keep a certain altitude.

“Not possible,” the pilot responded. “We’re going to do a 180, and we’re going to land.”

But seconds later, he said: “Mayday, mayday, mayday.”

The Coast Gard began an immediate search. A helicopter and 9 vessels were sent out by the Coast Guard and other agencies. More than 50 people are involved in the search. They soon found a debris field.

UPDATE I: The Coast Guard is confirming that two people are dead.

The U.S Coast Guard said that two of these people are confirmed dead while the search for the other two continues.

The pilots reported mechanical problems after takeoff. The plane crashed after taking off from the the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Intl. Airport.

The jet went down about three miles off the coast.

UPDATE II: BNO – Two people confirmed dead as search for plane crash survivors continues.

MIAMI — Two people are confirmed dead as Coast Guard and partner agency rescue crews continue to search for possible survivors of a plane crash approximately three miles off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, watchstanders at the Coast Guard 7th District command center received a report of a possible plane crash off the Coast of Fort Lauderdale from the Federal Aviation Administration. Search and rescue crews from Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale and Coast Guard Air Station Miami were immediately dispatched to begin the search for the aircraft and possible survivors. The Coast Guard Cutter Paul Clark and a Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue boatcrew were also launched to assist.

UPDATE III: Miami Herald releasing possible names of some on board the jet that went down off the Fort Lauderdale coast.

The flight carried two pilots and medical personnel, including a physician tentatively identified by friends as Fernando Senties Nieto and a nurse, Mariana González Isunza, both of Cozumel. Senties’ Facebook page began to fill with condolences early Wednesday.

Mexican media identified the others onboard as pilots José Hiram Galván de la O and Josué Buendía Moreno.
It’s unclear if the pilots were employed by the plane’s last registered owner, AirEvac International. A company spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment.

OK, I am officially speechless, this is worse than an EPIC FAIL  … This is a complete and unmitigated Clusterf*@k.

After 3+ years, some where in the range of $400 to 500 billion and growing, President Barack Obama, HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius, CMS and the Obama techies allowed the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov to go live and according to testimony today from Chief Obama IT Officer Henry Chao, 60 to 70% of the site still needs to be built? Not fixed, but built!!! As reported at NRO. the payment, back office and accounting systems of Healthcare.fail have yet to be built. How is these even conceivable?

The information-technology systems of Obamacare are still anywhere from 30 to 70 percent unfinished, an administration official testified today.

Admittedly, the answer from Henry Chao, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services deputy chief information officer, in a House hearing today isn’t really clear. At one point he seems to indicate 30 to 40 percent of the information-technology system supporting the Obamacare exchanges is unfinished; at another point it sounds more like he’s saying 60 to 70 percent. But the news is stunning either way: HealthCare.gov was launched with some massive parts unfinished, and they are still unfinished.

It would appear that The Politico’s initial estimates were wrong. To be honest, I do not care if the number is 40% that still needs to be built. As Q and O stated, this is mind boggling. Amen brother, it actually might go even beyond that. Even with all the “glitchy” issues that have marred the roll-out of the website, no one that testified bother to ever mention? Really? Folks, I am a healthcare project manager and data analyst by trade and it is simply beyond the realm of all things possible for anything like this to occur. Unless it was intentional.

So let’s clarify what was testified to, the payment and accounting systems still need to be built. That means that Sebelius and Obama allowed a web site to go live to the American people where the Obamacare law forced Americans to purchase health insurance and a law that booted individuals off their current private insurance policies, even if they liked them and wanted to keep them, and no one can actually pay for a policy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Folks, you are not enrolled in Obamacare until you pay your first premium. That has to be done by December 15, 2013 in order for an individual to have coverage effective January 1, 2014.

I guess we now know why Team Obama wanted to count the policies in one’s cart as enrollment. I would dare say that there are no actual enrollments in the federal exchanges, it would be impossible with no payment system in tact. This defies all logic. Even Barack Obama and his Chicago gang cannot be this ignorant. One actually has to go out of their way to be this colossally incompetent. I cannot see how this site will be fixed by the end of November a promised by Barack Obama. I also cannot see how the accounting functions can be completed by December 15.

But do not fret America, Obama can fill out a NCAA Basketball bracket like no body’s business, much to the admiration of a gushing media.

On November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln commemorated a Civil War battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, by vowing that “government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS, is one if not the greatest speeches ever from one of the United States greatest presidents ever. The key word there is “UNITED”.  This is what leadership looks like and it is comical if not disrespectful to ever make comparisons to Lincoln and his accomplishments. Never has a US president ever resided over more troubling and divisive times in the United States, NEVER!

And a small and irrelevant President Barack Obama does not show for the anniversary even though he used references to Lincoln during elections. Obama announced his candidacy in 2007 near Lincoln’s law office in Springfield, IL abd tried to tie himself to Abe. In the end, Obama was a no show. Some how Barack Obama can play 150 rounds of golf, but not show up on such an important anniversary of a president he claims to respect. Hmm, think it is because it would make Obama look even smaller than he already is? Did Obama really not go to this event because of the Healthcare.gov debacle?

But Obama, unlike his predecessors, stuck to his decision not to go to such an anniversary commemoration. His decision is doubly surprising because he has so often tied himself to his fellow Illinoisan Lincoln. Obama announced his candidacy in 2007 near Lincoln’s law office in Springfield, Ill. Both in 2009 and 2013, he took the oath of office with his hand on Lincoln’s Bible. And in 2009, he replicated Lincoln’s 1861 route from Philadelphia to Washington for the Inauguration.

“It didn’t work schedule-wise,” was the explanation tweeted Tuesday morning by Dan Pfeiffer, the president’s senior adviser. The schedule released by the White House showed the president at 10 a.m. in the Oval Office receiving his regular daily briefing. Then, at 10:45, he welcomed to the White House a group of senators to brief them on the latest developments in Iran. That briefing was not scheduled until Monday, well after the White House declined the Gettysburg invitation. Later in the day — after he would have been back from the planned ceremony at Gettysburg — he goes to the Four Seasons Hotel to address The Wall Street Journal CEO Council’s annual meeting and talk about the economy.

Team Obama Cooked the Books with Unemployment Numbers One Month Before 2012 Election … Jack Welch Vindicated!!!

Remember the skepticism by many when the remarkable coincidence occurred in the last reporting month prior to the 2012 Presidential election, when low and behold the unemployment numbers dropped from 7.1% to 7.8%? The numbers were hailed by Obama, his minions and an all to willing lap-dog media as the country’s economic situation was headed in the right direction and Obama’s policies were working. Just one problem, as reported in the New York Post, “The numbers were manipulated and the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it”. Why is this not a surprise from what has become one of the, if not the most corrupt and scandalous White House’s ever. It was not a shock to Jack Welch, who at the time questioned the numbers reported and basically called them flat out dishonest.

In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.

The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.

And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.

Just two years before the presidential election, the Census Bureau had caught an employee fabricating data that went into the unemployment report, which is one of the most closely watched measures of the economy.

And a knowledgeable source says the deception went beyond that one employee — that it escalated at the time President Obama was seeking reelection in 2012 and continues today.

“He’s not the only one,” said the source, who asked to remain anonymous for now but is willing to talk with the Labor Department and Congress if asked.

The Census employee caught faking the results is Julius Buckmon, according to confidential Census documents obtained by The Post. Buckmon told me in an interview this past weekend that he was told to make up information by higher-ups at Census.

As reported at The Politico, there is more disastrous polling numbers for President Barack Obama as a recent WAPO-ABC News poll shows that if the 2012 presidential election was held today, Mitt Romney would beat Obama, 49% to 45% among registered voters. Talk about your “buyer’s remorse”. This is a much different outcome than the 2012 match-up where Obama beat Romney 51% to 47% to win a second term. My how times have changed. What a difference the truth makes. What a difference it makes when the MSM decides to actually report on the numerous scandals of the Obama White House.

Making matters worse for Obama, Independents go for Romney 49% to 39% over Obama.

The WAPO/ABC poll also has Barack Obama’s job approval rating at 42% approve, 55% disapprove.

As more bad poll numbers continue to pour in for President Barack Obama, a new survey finds that if the 2012 election matchup were held this month, Mitt Romney would hold the edge with the voters.

Romney topped Obama 49 percent to 45 percent among registered voters in the Washington Post-ABC News poll released Tuesday. Among all Americans, the 2012 rivals would be tied, at 47 percent.

Obama beat Romney 51 percent to 47 percent a year ago to win a second term.

The poll also found more bad news for Obama: His approval was down to 42 percent, a fall of 6 points from a month ago. Fifty-five percent disapproved.

Other ratings of the president’s performance have tumbled as well. He’s at career lows for being a strong leader, understanding the problems of average Americans and being honest and trustworthy – numerically under water on each of these (a first for the latter two). His rating for strong leadership is down by 15 points this year and a vast 31 points below its peak shortly after he took office. In a new gauge, just 41 percent rate him as a good manager; 56 percent think not.

This poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates, finds that the president’s personal image has suffered alongside his professional ratings. Fewer than half, 46 percent, see him favorably overall, down 14 points this year to the fewest of his presidency. Fifty-two percent now view him unfavorably, a new high and a majority for the first time since he took office. It may matter: Personal popularity can provide a president with cushioning when the going gets rough. Losing it leaves the president more vulnerable.

ACA – Skepticism about the Affordable Care Act looks to be the driving force in Obama’s troubles. Americans by nearly 2-1, 63-33 percent, disapprove of his handling of implementation of the new health care law. And the public by 57-40 percent now opposes the law overall, its most negative rating to date, with opposition up by 8 points in the past month alone.

EXIT QUESTION: How does everyone think that the 2012 Presidential, House and Senate elections would have turned out if IRS-gate was reported on, if Benghazi-gate had been reported on, if AP-gate had been reported on and if, Barack Obama had told the truth and said that 5-10 million individuals with private healthcare plans who liked their insurance would lose it? How about if he told those with employer insurance coverage would lose theirs as well and it would be worse? Hmm?
