Former Obama Administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice Declines to Testify Before Senate Subcommittee

OF COURSE SUSAN RICE HAD NO PROBLEM GOING ON CNN AND DISCUSSING THE ISSUES …

As reported at Politico, Former Obama administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice on Wednesday declined a request to testify next week before a Senate subcommittee, citing separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches and the fact that the invitation was not bipartisan. SERIOUSLY? If the allegation is that somehow Obama administration officials utilized intelligence for political purposes is absolutely false, then why is former Obama administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice ducking the U.S. Senate subcommittee? Me thinks you have much to hide. Honestly, how does Susan Rice think that declining the request to testify on Russian hacking not make her look guilty as sin? So much for the most transparent administration ever.

Former Obama administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice on Wednesday declined a request to testify next week before a Senate subcommittee, citing separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches and the fact that the invitation was not bipartisan.

Rice’s decision to decline the invitation to testify on Russia’s election meddling came in a letter from her lawyer, Kathryn Ruemmler, to the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.).

The letter, first reported by CNN, notes that the invitation to testify came only from Graham and that Whitehouse “has informed us by letter that he did not agree to” the request, which Ruemmler calls “a significant departure from the bipartisan invitations extended to other witnesses.”

“Moreover,” Ruemmler writes, “Chairman Graham’s invitation was extended only after the hearing was noticed, less than two weeks before the hearing was scheduled to occur, and without consultation with Ambassador Rice, a professional courtesy that would customarily be extended to any witness.”

The Judiciary subcommittee is holding a hearing next Monday that will feature testimony from former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Former Obama Administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice had no prob;em going on the lap dog media to discuss the issues but then declines to testify for a Senate subcommittee on Russian hacking. Watch the video below of the liberal MSM trying to defend the unmasking of names. So it is ok to go on the friendly bias MSM, but hell no to Senate where she would be sworn in.

U.S. State Department Issues Travel Alert for Europe Beacause of Threat of Terrorist Attacks

One would have thought this would have already been in effect …

The U.S State Department has issued a travel alert for Europe due to the continued threat of terrorist attacks. With the continued terrorist acts throughout Europe, one wonders whether this is the new norm for the old continent?

In the alert, the State Department cited recent incidents in France, Russia, Sweden and the United Kingdom and said Islamic State and al Qaeda “have the ability to plan and execute terrorist attacks in Europe.”

The State Department’s previous travel alert for Europe, issued ahead of the winter holiday season, expired in February. A State Department official said Monday’s alert was not prompted by a specific threat, but rather recognition of the continuing risk of attacks especially ahead of the summer holidays. The alert expires on Sept. 1.

Malls, government facilities, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, parks, airports and other locations are all possible targets for attacks, the State Department’s alert said.

Full travel warning alert can be read HERE.

Wild Boars Maul Isis Terrorists to Death in Iraq

DEATH BY BACON …

As reported at the Telegraph, three ISIS terrorists were mauled to death by wild boars near the Iraqi city of Kirkuk. The irony and poetic justice of this story certainly cannot be lost. Even the local wildlife has joined in the anti-ISIS coalition in Iraq.

VIDEO – USA Today

Wild boars mauled three Islamic State (Isil) fighters to death near the Iraqi city of Kirkuk, according to Kurdish fighters.

The jihadists’ bodies were found badly mangled by refugees fleeing through farmland as they tried to get away from Isil territory in al-Rashad, southwest of the city.

Isil fighters responded to the deaths by going on a killing spree of wild boars in the area, said Brigadier Azad Jelal, the deputy head of the Kurdish intelligence service in Kikurk.

“Three fighters from Isil were near the Peshmerga checkpoint in al-Rashad. They met some feral boars and the boars killed the three fighters,” he told The Telegraph.

Sen. Ted Cruz Introduces “EL CHAPO Act” to Pay for the Us-Mexico Wall

THIS IS ONE WAY FOR MEXICO TO PAY FOR THE WALL …

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has introduced a bill called the “El Chapo act” that would use the seized assets from Mexican drug lords like El Chapo to help pay for the border wall between Mexico and the United States. The acronym for the act stands for: Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order. It would seem like a very effective use of such assets.

el chapo

  • The idea: U.S. prosecutors are seeking $14 billion in drug profits and other assets from El Chapo. They also routinely seize the assets of other drug dealers and traffickers.
  • The Cruz quote: “Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border.”
  • The acronym’s meaning: Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order
  • Why it matters: President Trump is trying to figure out how to pay for his border wall, which will require American taxpayers to front the bill, but Republicans aren’t helping at the moment.

President Donald Trump Helps Free Egyptian American Prisoner Aya Hijazi as Well as Her Egyptian Husband, Mohamed Hassanein

KUDOS TO PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR HELP MAKING IT HAPPEN!!!

The WAPO is reporting that Aya Hijazi, 30, a U.S. citizen, as well as her husband, Mohamed Hassanein, who is Egyptian, and four other humanitarian workers have been freed from an Egyptian prison. Hijazi was in Egypt running a nongovernmental organization that was seen as an anti-Egyptian scheme by Egyptian security officials.  Hijazi and her coworkers were imprisoned on May 1, 2014 on baseless child abuse and trafficking charges. According to accounts they were subjected to “coercive interrogation techniques,” and their trial dates were either canceled or continuously postponed.

An Egyptian American charity worker who was imprisoned in Cairo for three years and became the global face of Egypt’s brutal crackdown on civil society returned home to the United States late Thursday after the Trump administration quietly negotiated her release.

President Trump and his aides worked for several weeks with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi to secure the freedom of Aya Hijazi, 30, a U.S. citizen, as well as her husband, Mohamed Hassanein, who is Egyptian, and four other humanitarian workers. Trump dispatched a U.S. government aircraft to Cairo to bring Hijazi and her family to Washington.

Hijazi, who grew up in Falls Church, Va., and graduated from George Mason University, was working in Cairo with the Belady Foundation, which she and her husband established as a haven and rehabilitation center for street children in Cairo.

The couple and their co-workers had been incarcerated since May 1, 2014, on child abuse and trafficking charges that were widely dismissed by human rights workers and U.S. officials as false. Virtually no evidence was ever presented against them, and for nearly three years they were held as hearings were inexplicably postponed and trial dates canceled. Human rights groups alleged that they were abused in detention.

President Donald Trump and his ability to work and talk with others. Barack Obama failed to negotiate their release with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi. Thank you President Trump! Interesting though that Obama could find a way to free Bowe Bergdahl.

Trump Succeeds In Freeing American Charity Worker From Egyptian Prison. Obama Had Failed:

Trump apparently succeeded where former president Obama failed. The Post continues:

The Obama administration unsuccessfully pressed Sissi’s government for their release. It was not until Trump moved to reset U.S. relations with Egypt by embracing Sissi at the White House on April 3 — he publicly hailed the autocrat’s leadership as “fantastic” and offered the U.S. government’s “strong backing” — that Egypt’s posture changed. Last Sunday, a court in Cairo dropped all charges against Hijazi and the others.

According to White House officials, this wasn’t your classic Obama-era quid pro quo transaction or controversial prisoner exchange. Unlike Obama, who infamously traded five senior Taliban Gitmo detainees for U.S. army deserter Bowe Bergdahl in 2014, Trump personally oversaw Hijazi’s release and received assurances from Cairo that the prisoner release was a gesture of good faith.

We received “assurance from the highest levels [of Sissi’s government] that whatever the verdict was, Egypt would use presidential authority to send her home,” an unidentified senior administration told the Post.
