Secretary of State John Kerry Says U.S. Not At War with ISIS

UNREAL … SO THE US IS NOT AT WAR WITH ISIS, GUESS WHAT JOHN KERRY, ISIS IS AT WAR WITH THE UNITED STATES!!!

One day after President Barack Obama spoke to the nation and told us about the threat of ISIS and his strategy to deal with them, his Secretary of State John Kerry says we are not at war with ISIS. Unbelievable. After the tough talk of Obama saying, “if you threaten America, you will find no safe haven,” it is followed up of the weakness of Kerry refusing to say we are at war with ISIS. Kerry stated, that’s the wrong terminology. It is not a war, it is a major counter-terrorism operation. WHAT!!! The Obama administration is more worried about semantics than they are victory. John Kerry went on to say, there is “No need for “war fever” in ISIS operations.  These are the wrong people, at the wrong time to be in charge.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday would not say the United States is at war with ISIS, telling CNN in an interview that the administration’s strategy includes “many different things that one doesn’t think of normally in context of war.”

“What we are doing is engaging in a very significant counterterrorism operation,” Kerry told CNN’s Elise Labott in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. “It’s going to go on for some period of time. If somebody wants to think about it as being a war with ISIL, they can do so, but the fact is it’s a major counterterrorism operation that will have many different moving parts.”

Kerry made a distinction between ISIS and terror groups operating in Somalia and Yemen.

Doesn’t this sound an awful lot like Obama changing the “Global war on terror” to ‘Overseas Contingency Operation’. How has that worked out for us America? Political Correctness kills.

SORRY, OBAMA LOST ME AT AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF MY HIGHEST PRIORITY IS THE SECURITY OF  THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, OKAY REALLY IT WAS AT MY FELLOW AMERICANS

Lying to the American people and playing politics with healthcare, the IRS  and jobs is bad enough, but lies and playing politics with terrorism kills.

Barack Hussein Obama is the wrong president at the wrong time with a speech that many feel are just more words. Let’s get serious folks, it was WE THE PEOPLE who forced Barack Obama, kicking and screaming, to speak to the American people with regards to the terror threats of ISIS. The only reason why Obama addressed the American people was because of his sinking poll numbers of terrorism and foreign policy. In gaffe after gaffe, or in Obama’s case, how he really felt, Obama claimed that ISIS offered no threat, they were just the jayvee. As ISIS ravaged innocent men, women and children he stood back and did nothing. As ISIS created a caliphate and took over lands in Syria and Iraq, Obama did nothing. Isis beheads an American journalist and Obama says bad things have always happened, its just the media and social media that make more out of it today. Then when Obama first presents what he will do to ISIS he admits he has no strategy and then when he comes up with one it is to make ISIS a “manageable problem”.  WTF!!!

So now Barack Obama provides us with more words, little details and a 180 on so many of his own words, policies and principles, it makes anyone’s head spin, even Democrats and liberals. Just curious, since when has the core principle of Obama’s presidency been, if you threaten America, you will find no safe haven. REALLY? Did Obama also provide Yemen and Somalia as examples of successes against terrorism? Hold the phone, did Obama just say that  ISIL poses a threat to the people of Iraq and Syria, and the broader Middle East, including American citizens, personnel and facilities? Mr. President, you said ISIS was the jayvee. You dismissed them as not a threat and not on par with Al-Qaeda and now they are a threat to all, including America? Then what might be the flip-flops of all times, Obama states that there will be no American boots on the ground, but instead we will reply on Syrian opposition fighters. The very people that President Barack Obama once derided as “former doctors, farmers, pharmacists and so forth” are now form a key pillar of the U.S. leader’s strategy to beat back the militant insurgency known as Islamic State. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

CNN – Transcript of President Obama’s Speech on Combating ISIS and Terrorism:

The White House (CNN) — My fellow Americans — tonight, I want to speak to you about what the United States will do with our friends and allies to degrade and ultimately destroy the terrorist group known as ISIL.

As Commander-in-Chief, my highest priority is the security of the American people. Over the last several years, we have consistently taken the fight to terrorists who threaten our country. We took out Osama bin Laden and much of al Qaeda’s leadership in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We’ve targeted al Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen, and recently eliminated the top commander of its affiliate in Somalia. We’ve done so while bringing more than 140,000 American troops home from Iraq, and drawing down our forces in Afghanistan, where our combat mission will end later this year. Thanks to our military and counter-terrorism professionals, America is safer.

Still, we continue to face a terrorist threat. We cannot erase every trace of evil from the world, and small groups of killers have the capacity to do great harm. That was the case before 9/11, and that remains true today. That’s why we must remain vigilant as threats emerge. At this moment, the greatest threats come from the Middle East and North Africa, where radical groups exploit grievances for their own gain. And one of those groups is ISIL — which calls itself the “Islamic State.”

Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not “Islamic.” No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim. And ISIL is certainly not a state. It was formerly al Qaeda’s affiliate in Iraq, and has taken advantage of sectarian strife and Syria’s civil war to gain territory on both sides of the Iraq-Syrian border. It is recognized by no government, nor the people it subjugates. ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way.

In a region that has known so much bloodshed, these terrorists are unique in their brutality. They execute captured prisoners. They kill children. They enslave, rape, and force women into marriage. They threatened a religious minority with genocide. In acts of barbarism, they took the lives of two American journalists — Jim Foley and Steven Sotloff.

So ISIL poses a threat to the people of Iraq and Syria, and the broader Middle East — including American citizens, personnel and facilities. If left unchecked, these terrorists could pose a growing threat beyond that region — including to the United States. While we have not yet detected specific plotting against our homeland, ISIL leaders have threatened America and our allies. Our intelligence community believes that thousands of foreigners — including Europeans and some Americans — have joined them in Syria and Iraq. Trained and battle-hardened, these fighters could try to return to their home countries and carry out deadly attacks.

I know many Americans are concerned about these threats. Tonight, I want you to know that the United States of America is meeting them with strength and resolve. Last month, I ordered our military to take targeted action against ISIL to stop its advances. Since then, we have conducted more than 150 successful airstrikes in Iraq. These strikes have protected American personnel and facilities, killed ISIL fighters, destroyed weapons, and given space for Iraqi and Kurdish forces to reclaim key territory. These strikes have helped save the lives of thousands of innocent men, women and children.

Barack Obama’s Gutless Meandering on ISIL: From Promises of “Degrade and Destroy” to a “Manageable Problem” all in One Speech

AND YOU WONDER WHY ISIS OR ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD DOES NOT FEAR THE US … THANKS BARACK OBAMA.

Yet another heading shaking speech for Barack Obama in reaction to ISIS … Barack Obama spoke earlier this morning in Estonia and once again made an attempt to address dealing with ISIS as he failed miserably last week with his, “we have no strategy” comment. This time Obama began by saying ...”Our objective is clear, and that is to degrade and destroy ISIL, so that it is no longer a threat”. Tough talk from a paper tiger who has done nothing but dither on ISIS and refuse to say that we are at war against them as they (ISIL) are most certainly at war against the United States. However, Obama’s lack of a strategy in dealing with ISIS and his definition of clear are a mystery to the rest of us. Yet again Obama presented a mixed message as he went from promises of bringing ISIS to justice and to “degrade and destroy” them to at the speech’s end saying that ISIS a “manageable problem” if the “international community” comes together. WOW, yet more lack of leadership from Obama.

A manageable problem? What’s that mean, only foreign media will be beheaded? Is it manageable Mr. President if ISIS only rapes and kills 10 women and children a day rather than 20? Or maybe Obama will manage the number of individuals who are stones to death or he are shot in the head by ISIS for not converting to Islam?  Maybe it’s manageable if ISIS only creates a caliphate of 3/4th of Iraq and Syria, rather than all of it?

Sorry Obama, under your dithering presidency, our objective has been never less clear. His speech was nothing but a cautious speech that rang hollow. Okay, I am just going to put the obvious out there … if your OBJECTIVE is to DESTROY ISIS, why in the HELL would you need to MANAGE IT? What is our mission, to crush them or contain them!!! What a clear message from Obama.

“We know that if we are joined by the international community, we can continue to shrink ISILl’s sphere of influence, its effectiveness, its financing, its military capabilities to the point  where it is a manageable problem,” said Obama.

“And the question is going to be making sure we’ve got the right strategy but also making sure we’ve got the international will to do it. This is something that is a continuation of  a problem we’ve seen certainly since 9/11, but before and it continues to metastasize in different ways. And what we’ve got to do is make sure that we are organizing the Arab world, the Middle East, the Muslim world, along with the internationl community to isolate this cancer.

“This particular brand of extremism that is first and foremost destructive to the Muslim world and the Arab World and North Africa and the people who live there. They’re the ones who are most severly affected. They’re the ones who are constantly under threat of being killed. They’re the ones whose econimies are completely upended to the point where they can’t produce their own food and they can’t produce the kinds of goods and services to sell in the world marketplace.

“And they’re falling behind because of this very small and narrow but very dangerous segment of the population. And we’ve got to combat it in a sustained, effective way. And I’m confident we’re going to be able to do that.”

Needless to say ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Putin, Iran, North Korea and the rest of the enemies of the US are wetting themselves laughing at you and US.

Hmm, at what point will the MSM stop carrying the water and making excuses for Barack Obama and demand he do something?

The brutal, vicious and heinous actions of ISIS continues, as a VIDEO  today showed yet another beheading of an American journalist.   Just 13 days after the murderous beheading of James Foley, ISIS has done it again. This time they have beheaded Steven Sotloff in an act of barbarism. Steven Sotloff was a 31 year old freelance journalist from Florida who was kidnapped in Syria in August 2013. The masked murderer in the VIDEO actually called out Obama saying, “I’m back, Obama, and I’m back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic State …  So just as your missiles continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people.”  And Barack Hussein Obama is no where to be found. I guess he is too busy dithering and being too cautious trying to figure out what his strategy is.   Instead the feckless and clueless Obama would have you believe that this isn’t that bad and “The world’s always been messy … we’re just noticing now in part because of social media.”  WHAT!!!

The Islamic State militant group released a video on Tuesday purporting to show the beheading of a second American hostage, journalist Steven Sotloff, raising the stakes in its confrontation with Washington over U.S. air strikes on its insurgents in Iraq.

“I’m back, Obama, and I’m back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic State, because of your insistence on continuing your bombings and in Amerli, Zumar and the Mosul Dam, despite our serious warnings,” the masked man said in the video, addressing U.S. President Barack Obama.

“So just as your missiles continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people.”

In the video, Sotloff describes himself as “paying the price” with his life for the U.S. intervention in Iraq.

UPDATE I: Fears for UK aid worker David Cawthorne Haines after Islamic State murders Steven Sotloff.

London: UK prime minister David Cameron has condemned the killing of another journalist by Islamic State extremists as “a despicable and barbaric murder”.

A video of the latest killing reported to be US journalist Steven Sotloff emerged on Tuesday afternoon UK-time, featuring the same militant who killed James Foley, named in the UK media as British jihadist Adbel-Majed Abdel Bary, dubbed ‘Jihadi John’.

According to intelligence group SITE, the killer also threatened another captive, thought to be Briton David Cawthorne Haines.

The Washington Post reported that Mr Haines was shown in the video in the same kneeling position and wearing the same orange jumpsuit as Sotloff and Foley before him.

Mr Haines, was abducted in March 2013 near the Atmeh refugee camp adjoining the Turkish border in the northern Syrian province of Idlib, aid workers who have been involved in efforts to secure his release told the Post.

UPDATE II: Yawn, The U.S. State Department says it is “sickened” by a video that purports to show the beheading of U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff. Sorry, but we have heard this before. How about some action rather than reading the same script with replace “innocent person’s name”.

British Prime Minister David Cameron Warned that his County is Facing the “Greatest Terrorist Threat” in history … UK Raises Terror Threat Level, Citing Risks out of Syria and Iraq

HEY AMERICA, TAKE A LOOK HOW A REAL LEADER REACTS TO A TERROR THREAT …

British Prime Minister conducted a press conference at 10 Downing Street to do what US President Barack Obama could not, be a leader and put into perspective the terror threat that ISIS poses to the UK and the world. PM David Cameron stated, that while the “Taliban facilitated al-Qaida terrorism, the Islamic State group is “effectively a state run by terrorists ”  and their ambition to create an Islamist caliphate is not something that could be ignored. Juxtapose that with Obama who underestimated ISIS as they “jayvee” and stated the other day that “we do not have a strategy” to deal with ISIS.

Britain raised the country’s terror threat level from substantial to severe just before Cameron held his news conference. The threat level means a terrorist attack is considered highly likely. Cameron warned that the return of hundreds of murderous extremists posed a greater threat to our security than Al Qaeda or the IRA ever did.  Cameron further went on to say that Islamist terrorists cannot be ‘appeased’ and need to be faced down. Where was Obama, at a fund raiser of course.

CNN:

The UK government raised its terror threat level Friday from “substantial” to “severe,” the fourth highest of five levels, in response to events in Iraq and Syria, where ISIS militants have seized a large swath of territory.

“That means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, but there is no intelligence to suggest that an attack is imminent,” Home Secretary Theresa May said.

The “root cause” of Britain’s terror threat is “Islamist extremism,” Prime Minister David Cameron said. The execution of American journalist James Foley is clear evidence that ISIS’s fight in Iraq and Syria “is not some foreign conflict thousands of miles from home that we can hope to ignore,” according to the UK leader.

Just curious, when was the last time or any time that you would ever hear the following words out of Barack Obama’s mouth when it came to discussing American values, protecting American values and standing up for American values? During David Cameron’s speech he said the following:

Britain is an open, tolerant and free nation. We are a country that backs everyone community who want to work hard, make a contribution and build a life for themselves and their family. But we cannot stand by and allow our openness be confused with the tolerance of extremism. Or one that encourages different cultures to lead separate lives and allows people to behave in ways that run completely counter to British values. Adhering to British values is not an option or a choice, it is a duty of those who live in these islands. And in the end, it is only by standing up for these values that we will defeat this extremism, protect our way of life and keep our people safe.
