The FOG of KINETIC MILITARY OPERATIONS … NATO Strike Hit Kills 13 Rebel Libyan Fighters … Friendly Fire
The FOG of KINETIC MILITARY OPERATIONS … Friendly Fire airstrike.
Not only does it appear that the US does not know who the rebels are in Libya, it would appear that NATO cannot tell the difference between rebel and pro-Gaddafi fighters. A NATO airstrike has killed 13 Libyan rebel fighters and wounded several others. What else would one expect when you wage a war from only the air to aid rebel forces. As reported by the NY Times, Qaddafi forces are increasingly plunging into combat in equipment similar to what the rebels are using, mainly pickup trucks mounted with machine guns or rockets.
Notions of a cease-fire in Libya quickly faded Saturday as a battle raged for control of the oil town of al-Brega, where rebel fighters claimed they had lost fighters and vehicles to NATO airstrikes.
Airstrikes hit several rebel vehicles and killed at least 13 rebel fighters, spokesmen for the Libyan opposition said Saturday. Seven others were wounded.
NATO was investigating the incident, a spokeswoman said Saturday.

Oil Prices Soar to Highest Price Since 2008 on Obama’s Libya War … Up 100% Under Obama
Welcome to Obama’s QUAGMIRE …
It is amateur hour in the White House and “We the People” are feeling the brunt of the inexperience. Obama truly is the worst President ever.
Thanks to Barack Obama’s “Kinetic Military Operation” WAR in Libya oil prices have climbed to their highest level since 2008. Obama claimed that the military operation in Libya would last days not weeks. The community organizer and “Ditherer” in Chief could never have been so wrong. Who but an inexperienced and completed over-matched individual could ever have thought that a any military action would have ended so quickly.
Instead of a quick outcome and slam dunk in Libya as stated by Obama, fighters loyal to Moammar Gadhafi pushed back rebels from key areas in eastern Libya and have dealt the rebels a severe setback. Today, a spokesman for the Libyan leader said that Gaddafi will stay in Libya “until the end”. The result … oil prices rose to a 30 month high and the pain at the gas pumps will be felt by American workers trying to get to work. More ‘Hope & Change’ from Obama … rising gas prices.

Barack Obama’s Lack of Consistency on US Foreign Policy & “Kinetic Military Action” Involvement in Libya
Following Obama’s speech the questions still remain … What was our objective, and what is it now?
Last night President Barack Obama went on TV, full speech HERE, to explain to the American people the reason why he has decided to commit American military forces in Libya. However, as many have stated, it would have been a good speech if it had been done weeks ago. Now, it just appears that it was a reaction to public outrage, including many in his own party. His speech was a day late and a dollar short and still … does anyone really know what Obama’s foreign policy is?
Obama stated in his speech, “I refused to wait for the images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action.”Really? How many other places in the world have such occurrences taken place and presently are taking place and Obama does nothing. So what is Obama’s litmus test to do humanitarian “kinetic military actions” in the world? As further stated by the NRO, Obama’s speech was yet again a muddled, murky example of his views that despite his past views of not intervening in Middle East situations, he never once referenced his lack of consulting Congress in this “kinetic military action” WAR on Libya.
Picture Hat Tip: Vanderbilt ’11
The Gateway Pundit reminds us of the many other times that Obama felt it no need to intervene in the affairs of other countries. Of course that was different, then.
This is the same man who once said that genocide was no reason to keep US troops in Iraq.
Obama said the US would continue to go after Al-Qaeda… Even though Al-Qaeda is allied with the opposition in Libya.
Obama forgets to mention how he ignored the protesters in Iran when they were being slaughtered by the regime.
Hmm, Obama also stated in his speech last night the following regarding his responsibility of keeping the Unites States safe. Wasn’t just the other day that Defense Secretary Gates said on ABC’s ‘This Week’ that “Libya Did Not Pose Threat to U.S., Was Not ‘Vital National Interest’ to Intervene”.
As Commander-in-Chief, I have no greater responsibility than keeping this country safe. And no decision weighs on me more than when to deploy our men and women in uniform. I’ve made it clear that I will never hesitate to use our military swiftly, decisively, and unilaterally when necessary to defend our people, our homeland, our allies and our core interests.
Does anyone think that America has done what it said it would do in Libya? Welsome

Remember When Obama Said Libyan Campaign would Last Days Not Weeks … Looks Like it will be Months … Syrian People Won’t be Helped
The pick and choose foreign policy of Barack Obama that send mixed messages to Americans and the World. Help Libya, but just say no to Syria and Iran.
Remember when the “Ditherer” in Chief stated that the “Kinetic Military Action” in Libya would last days and not weeks?
It would seem that the “rush into kinetic action” by Barack Obama has got the United States into a Middle East predicament where Obama is in over his head with no message, no plan and no end game. The once operation that was supposed to take days of US military involvement now appears will take at least months.
U.S.-led military action in Libya has bolstered rebels fighting Moammar Gadhafi’s forces, but the international operation could continue for months, the Obama administration says.
Ahead of President Barack Obama’s national address Monday to explain his decision to act against the Libyan leader, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in appearances on the Sunday talk shows that the intervention had effectively rendered Gadhafi’s forces defenseless against air attacks and created the conditions for opposition advances westward.
In interviews taped Saturday, Gates and Clinton also defended the narrowly defined U.N. mandate to prevent atrocities against Libyan civilians and said the U.S. had largely accomplished its goals.
But what really are the goals? Were the goals to protect Libyan citizens, create a no fly zone, oust Gadhafi or even kill him. Talk about another mixed and muddled message from the Obama White House. Wasn’t it Obama who said, “I Promise I Will Never Rush the Decision to Send You in Harms Way”. So then why have days gone by and into weeks and still the Obama promised end of kinetic military action continues.
Want another mixed message when it comes to helping civilians in distress? Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States won’t enter into the internal conflict in Syria the way it has in Libya. Because some how helping these people in an internal conflict is different.
Defense Secretary Gates says on ABC’s ‘This Week’, “Libya Did Not Pose Threat to U.S., Was Not ‘Vital National Interest’ to Intervene”.
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said that Libya did not pose a threat to the United States before the U.S. began its military campaign against the North African country.
On “This Week,” ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper asked Gates, “Do you think Libya posed an actual or imminent threat to the United States?”
“No, no,” Gates said in a joint appearance with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “It was not — it was not a vital national interest to the United States, but it was an interest and it was an interest for all of the reasons Secretary Clinton talked about.

Obama’s Kinetic Military Operation in Libya Against Gaddafi Aiding Rebels Who Admit his Fighters have al-Qaeda Links
Some one forgot to tell Barack Obama that it is important to know who you are backing in a “Kinetic Military Operation”.
So who are the foreign fighters that President Barack Obama has the US military and NATO providing a “no fly zone” for? In a report from the UK telegraph, Libyan rebel leader, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, stated that jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited “around 25″ men from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are “today are on the front lines in Adjabiya”.
Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but added that the “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”.
Just curious President Obama, did you know what you were getting into in Libya, did you know who you were supporting against Kadafi and did you rush into war? Oh sorry, a Kinetic Milaitary Action”. It was perfectly ok for Obama to make the snarky comment about george W. Bush, but when it comes to hios own actions its another hypocrtital action. Obama will eat his own words of “I Promise I will never rush the decision to send you in harms way.”
