Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice Speaks to the RNC to Standing Ovations … ““The challenge is real, and the times are hard, but America has met and overcome hard challenges before.”
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice received a standing ovation as she spoke to the crowd at the Republican National Convention. As stated at the WSJ, Condi have a moving address to delegates at the Republican convention, broadly criticizing President Barack Obama’s record without ever mentioning him by name. The former Sec. of State knows that America needs leadership and not a President like Obama who leads from behind. Wow, what a speech by Condi. For some one who does not like public speaking and does not want to be involved in politics, her performance was so well done one would have thought she was running for Office in the near future. All that and never used a teleprompter during speech.
Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have the experience and the integrity and the vision to lead us – they know who we are, what we want to be and what we offer the world.
Ms. Rice gravely described the challenges facing the country while at the same time, still sounding optimistic about the nation’s future.
“The challenge is real, and the times are hard, but America has met and overcome hard challenges before,” she told the delegates.
America, she said, “has a way of making the impossible seem inevitable in retrospect. But … It took leadership, and it took courage, and it took belief in our values.”
That was her lead-in to the GOP ticket. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, she said, “have the integrity and the experience and the vision to lead us. They know who we are. They know who we want to be. They know who we are in the world and what we offer.”
Full speech can be read HERE. Some excerpts from tonight’s speech:
Indeed that is the question of the moment- “Where does America stand?” When our friends and our foes, alike, do not know the answer to that question – clearly and unambiguously — the world is a chaotic and dangerous place. The U.S. has since the end of World War II had an answer – we stand for free peoples and free markets, we are willing to support and defend them – we will sustain a balance of power that favors freedom.
Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan understand this reality — that our leadership abroad and our well being at home are inextricably linked. They know what needs to be done. Our friends and allies must be able to trust us. From Israel to Poland to the Philippines to Colombia and across the world — they must know that we are reliable and consistent and determined. And our adversaries must have no reason to doubt our resolve — because peace really does come through strength. Our military capability and technological advantage will be safe in Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan’s hands.
Condi discusses energy independence and the economy. Both play greatly into foreign policy and security.
We must not allow the chance to attain energy independence to slip from our grasp. We have a great gift of oil and gas reserves here in North America that must be and can be developed while protecting our environment. And we have the ingenuity in the private sector to tap alternative sources of energy.
And most importantly, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will rebuild the foundation of American strength – our economy – stimulating private sector led growth and small business entrepreneurship. When the world looks at us today they see an American government that cannot live within its means. They see a government that continues to borrow money, mortgaging the future of generations to come. The world knows that when a nation loses control of its finances, it eventually loses control of its destiny. That is not the America that has inspired others to follow our lead.
Then came one of the best lines of the night.
And on a personal note– a little girl grows up in Jim Crow Birmingham – the most segregated big city in America – her parents can’t take her to a movie theater or a restaurant – but they make her believe that even though she can’t have a hamburger at the Woolworth’s lunch counter – she can be President of the United States and she becomes the Secretary of State. Yes, America has a way of making the impossible seem inevitable in retrospect. But of course it has never been inevitable – it has taken leadership, courage and an unwavering faith in our values.

London Summer Olympics: Badminton Scandal, Doubles Pairs Face Match-Throwing Probe, So Much for the Olympic Creed (Update: 8 Olympic Badminton Player Out … Booted from Games)
The Olympic creed …
“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.” (Pierre De Coubertin)
I guess some of the Badminton doubles teams at the London Summer Games did not get the Olympic creed memo. Eight female badminton players, including the world champions from China, are under an investigation for allegedly throwing matches. Seriously? The possible match throwing scheme is a result of the new round-robin format in the initial round of play rather than a knock out one, where losing one game can lead to an easier matchup in the next round. Good grief, don’t hate the game … question the integrity and ethics of the player.
A disciplinary hearing began Wednesday for eight female badminton players, including the world champions from China, after they were accused of trying to throw matches at the Olympics a day earlier to secure a favorable draw.
The Badminton World Federation said in a statement it had charged the doubles players from China, South Korea and Indonesia under its players’ code of conduct with “not using one’s best efforts to win a match” and “conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport.”
The South Korean players and coach already have been questioned at the hearing, which is being held at a hotel near the Wembley Arena venue. Still awaiting questioning are the Chinese and Indonesian teams.
Federation spokeswoman Gayle Alleyne declined comment on possible sanctions from the hearing.
While the IOC is at it and investigating Chinese athletes, they might want to take a long hard look at Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen and alleged blood doping.
UPDATE I: 8 Badminton Olympians Out … How is it that of all the sports that are contested in the Olympics that it is Badminton that becomes the most controversial? Shuttlecocks? Imagine that most athletes train a lifetime for one shot at winning a medal or at the very least compete in an Olympics. So what did these fools do, intentionally lose to draw a weaker opponent in the second round. Rather unbelievable if you think about it. As much as I have questioned and disagree with many decisions by the IOC to throw them out of the Games. Next time you want to throw a match, you may not want to make it look so obvious.
Four badminton teams were kicked out of the women’s doubles at the London Games on Wednesday for trying to lose on purpose, conduct that a top IOC executive said strikes at the heart of Olympic competition.
The eight doubles players from China, South Korea and Indonesia were cited by the Badminton World Federation for “conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport.”
6 Year Old Chinese Swimmer Ye Shiwen Swam a Faster 50 Meters than Ryan Lochte … A London Summer Olympic Doping Scandal in the Making
You’ve come a long way baby, but not that far as many skeptics question the 16 year old Chinese swimmers eye opening time and not believable.
16 year old Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen obliterated the competition on Saturday at the London Summer Olympic games as she swam the 400 meter individual medley in a world-record time. But was it too good to be true? The swim was described as “unbelievable” and “disturbing”. Not only did she take more than a second off the world’s record, she actually swam the final 100m of freestyle, in which she recorded a split time of 58.68sec, that aroused Leonard’s suspicion. Ye Shiwen also swam the last 50m she was quicker than the American Ryan Lochte who participated in the men’s 400m IM. Really, c,mon man. Who really believes that is possible?
China has become embroiled in the first doping controversy of the London Games after one of the world’s most respected coaches described the swimming prodigy Ye Shiwen’s gold medal performance as “unbelievable” and “disturbing”.
The American John Leonard, executive director of the World Swimming Coaches Association, said the 16-year-old’s performance was “suspicious” and said it brought back “a lot of awful memories” of the Irish swimmer Michelle Smith’s race in the same event at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. Smith, now Michelle de Bruin, was banned for four years in 1998 after testing positive for an anabolic steroid.
Ye stunned world swimming on Saturday by winning gold in the 400m individual medley in a world-record time. It was her final 100m of freestyle, in which she recorded a split time of 58.68sec, that aroused Leonard’s suspicion. Over the last 50m she was quicker than the American Ryan Lochte, who won the men’s 400m individual medley in the second-fastest time in history .
Barack Obama Slams Romney about Bain Capital and Outsourcing, Then Outsources his Campaign with Fundraisers in Switzerland, Sweden, Paris and Communist China
Barack Obama, the Outsourcer in Chief is at it again.
So what does an incumbent, hypocrite President do who is in trouble on the domestic front with the economy, jobs and debt, and who continuously ans falsely attacks his opponent Mitt Romney on outsourcing do … why Obama outsources his campaign with fundraisers in Switzerland, Sweden, Paris and Communist China of course.
Check out the Gateway Pundit for all the specifics and details for Obama’s fund raising in Switzerland, Sweden, Paris and Communist China. Who finsd it just a wee-bit ironic and laughable that Obama, whose campaign has attacked Romney for Swiss bank accounts, is having a fund raiser in Switzerland? I wonder how many of those Obama donors have Swiss bank accounts themselves?
Just curious, with the advent of the Internet, Paypal, and on-line donations, why would a campaign really have to go to foreign countries to to get campaign funds from Americans living abroad? There still is International mail with those “par avion” letters that individuals can send a check, right? Better yet, as stated at I’m 41, begging for donations in Red China, really? Check out the link to the Shanghai beg from the official Elect Barack Obama/Biden web page. Of course all of the donations funds come from Americans living abroad, wink, wink, nod, nod.
OBAMA TURNS OVERSEAS FOR CAMPAIGN CASH …
If both candidates hold fundraisers overseas as we are told, one has to answer two following questions, one, why is there a huge difference in donations and two, if outsourcing is so bad, why is Obama going after monies from Americans living and working abroad?

Go Figure … USA Olympic Uniforms Made in China Outsourced by Barack Obama Donor’s Company
Look for that union Chinese label … C’mon man, you mean we can’t even make the damn USA Olympic uniforms in the USA? File this one under, imagine what the news cycle would be like if it were a Romney donor?
You just can’t make this stuff up … President is so quick to attack Mitt Romney for outsourcing jobs, but mums the word when it comes to the USA Olympic uniforms that were outsourced to China to be manufactured by an Obama donor’s company. That donor, Ralph Lauren of course. Not only will USA Olympic athletes be walking in the opening ceremonies of the London Olympics in cheesy outfits, but ones made in China. Why not seeing that they own so much of our debt. Under this President I am surprised we are not made to wear the same outfits as the Chinese.
Can you imagine what the MSM would be screaming if it were Bain Capital that outsourced the USA Olympic uniforms to China?
Lawmakers were livid to discover that the United States’ Olympic team uniforms were made in China. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) even suggested “they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again.”
The company who designed the uniforms, Ralph Lauren, has received less scrutiny. Few outlets have noted that Ralph Lauren himself is a prominent contributor to President Obama and the Democratic Party.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Lauren has given $7,300 to Obama since 2008, and more than $35,000 to the Democratic National Committee.
Harry Reid says the uniforms should be put in a pile and burned, what about the campaign donations as well?
Senate Democrats Introducing ‘Team USA Made in America Act of 2012? but no word on whether they will return the donations from the outsourcing donor. No word from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about still wanting to burn the uniforms outsourced to China by a Democrat donor.
“I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said when asked by ABC News Thursday. “If they have to wear nothing but a singlet that says USA on it, painted by hand, that is what they should wear.
From Michelle Malkin.com, how come President Obama is not ripping Ralph Lauren over outsourcing jobs to China and especially the manufacturing of the USA Olympic outfits? Hmm? Oh, looky there, could it be those nice donations? Where is the hue & cry to give back this money?
While we are on the topic of outsourcing and shipping jobs to China, where is the liberal, corrupt MSM complex and their reports of Barack Obama’s jobs czar, GE’s Jeff Immelt, who gets a massive tax break from Obama, yet shipped thousands of jobs over to China?
