Rasmussen Poll Shows Many Americans Have No Concept of Free Speech … 55% Favor Government Oversight of Political Ads & Candidates’ Comments

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

An alarming 55% if likely voters in a recent Rasmussen poll stated, “they believe the government should be allowed to review political ads and candidates’ campaign comments for their accuracy.” It gets better, they also wanted to punish those that it decides are making false statements about other candidates. OK FOLKS … HAVE YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR MINDS!!! You do realize that “Freedom of Speech” is intended to prevent a tyrannical government from trampling the speech, opinions and comments of ab individuals right? I could care less what party was in power, I would never want a government to control campaign speech. It is up to the voter to inform yourself as to whether some one is fabricating the truth. If that is too difficult, don’t vote.

So 55% of clueless voters would want whatever political party was in power to review and determine whether a political ad was truthful or not? Who could see anything going wrong with that because of course political parties are not partisan of course. The American Spectator has an idea, just create more government bureaucracy and a  new agency, call it the Ministry of Political Truth, to oversee this brave new government power. Oh wait, you don’t want the government agency to do it, how about the media?

The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments this week in a case aimed at overturning an Ohio law that makes it a crime to make false statements in a political campaign. But most voters favor government policing of the truthfulness of campaign ads and statements.

Fifty-five percent (55%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe the government should be allowed to review political ads and candidates’ campaign comments for their accuracy and punish those that it decides are making false statements about other candidates. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 31% oppose such government oversight. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Presently we have a president in Barack Obama who thumbs his nose at the US Constitution, you would actually give him the power to control political speech for campaign speech, REALLY?  WAKE UP AMERICA, many brave souls fought and died to bring freedoms and independence to the colonies and form a United States. Act like it!

IRS Gives Bonuses to Employees Who Owed Back Taxes and Committed Fraud & Abuse

HYPOCRISY AT IT’S WORSE …

So what happens to Americans who fraudulently claim unemployment benefits, misuse a company credit card or not pay your taxes, you would be arrested, charged with a crime, no longer allowed to use the hand out program, get reprimanded or fired from your job and have the IRS threaten you, place liens on your property and garnish your wages. What happens to an IRS employee  fraudulently claiming unemployment benefits, misusing government credit cards and failing to pay their taxes … THEY GET BONUSES!!!

When is enough, enough with this out of control rogue agency? The Founding Fathers did not intend a federal government to have federal agencies that acted above the law. It is time for a flat tax so that everyone, and I mean everyone pay their fair share, as well as to end this governmental agency of corruption, cronyism and fear. I wonder if any of the IRS employees who received bonuses and owed back taxes have been audited?

A report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration shows that between Oct. 1, 2010, and Dec. 31, 2012, the IRS paid $2.8 million in bonuses to employees cited in the past year for such things as drug use, making violent threats, fraudulently claiming unemployment benefits, misusing government credit cards and — get this — failing to pay their taxes.

The report said more than 1,100 employees who failed to pay their taxes received discretionary awards of more than $1 million in cash bonuses and more than 10,000 hours in extra paid vacation.

At least five employees received performance awards after being disciplined for intentionally under-reporting their tax liabilities for multiples years, paying taxes late and under-reporting income.

Like many companies and government agencies, the IRS sweetens the deal for its employees by giving bonuses based on performance. But at the IRS, breaking the federal tax laws you were hired to enforce and running afoul of other agency rules aren’t considered relevant to performance-based awards.

I guess we are now giving bus drivers who get into accident and police officers with criminal records raises and bonuses too?

Victory for Nevada Cattle Rancher Cliven Bundy … BLM Blinks in Confrontation Over the Removal of Rancher’s Cattle From Federal Land, Government Claimed They were Grazing Illegally

The Bureau of land Management is pulling out, victory for Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy.

The Feds and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) have blinked in their Gestapo tactics of governmental overreach in the confrontation with Nevada cattle rancher Clive Bundy. No matter what side of the argument you fall on with regards to this situation, one thing is for certain, this was a complete over-reaction on the part of the Obama administration in creating this type of hostile, overreach and volatile situation. After a week-long standoff between the Feds and the cattle rancher and his supporters, the BLM has done a 180 most likely because there has been too much media reporting of the Fed’s tyrannical nad police state actions.  BLM Director Neil Kornze stated, “based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public.” More like, the memo came from on high, the Obama presidency cannot withstand a WACO.

However, the Bureau of Land Management vowed Saturday that it would continue its legal fight to remove illegal cattle from a rural Nevada range. This is code for the Fed’s in Washington DC will pull every stunt, behind the scenes, to make this man’s life miserable and put him out of business as he dared make them look bad in public.

ABC News: Nevada Cattle Rancher Wins ‘Range War’ With Feds.

 A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters.

Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally.

Bundy claims his herd of roughly 900 cattle have grazed on the land along the riverbed near Bunkerville, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, since 1870 and threatened a “range war” against the BLM on the Bundy Ranch website after one of his sons was arrested while protesting the removal of the cattle.

“I have no contract with the United States government,” Bundy said. “I was paying grazing fees for management and that’s what BLM was supposed to be, land managers and they were managing my ranch out of business, so I refused to pay.”

The federal government had countered that Bundy “owes the American people in excess of $1 million ” in unpaid grazing fees and “refuses to abide by the law of land, despite many opportunities over the last 20 years to do so.”

However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.

“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” BLM Director Neil Kornze said.

“We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner,” he said.

Take a good look America at to how the Federal government is treating legal Americans. Attack dogs and tasering Americans, UNREAL. Remember when this used to be the United States of America, not a tyrannical police state? The Obama government does not do this to illegal aliens who come into America illegally, but they had no problem treating legal Americans this way.

UPDATE I: BLM return cattle back to Bundy’s. Iin the end, this was all for nothing.

A deal has been reached between Bundy family leaders and the Bureau of Land Management, but not without some very tense moments.

Armed Bundy family leaders met with BLM officers Saturday afternoon in Mesquite to discuss the fate of the Bundy’s cattle that the feds removed from BLM land, over the past week.

Under the deal the cattle were released from a holding area near Mesquite, back onto the federal lands they were removed from.

However, according to the BLM, the deal does not absolve Bundy from any of the fees he owes for having the animals there in the first place.

Rancher Cliven Bundy is not describing it as a deal, but as the American citizens taking back the cattle.

“There is no deal here. The citizens of America and Clark County went and took their cattle. There was no negotiations. They took these cattle. They are in possession of these cattle and I expect them to come home soon,” Bundy said.

The Westboro Baptist moonbats contend that God sent that tornado as retribution against Moore. UNREAL.  The Westboro cult had a permit to picket for half an hour; however, outraged and sickened Moore residents put an end to that in short notice. The hideous protest lasted a mere eight minutes when several people took matters into their own hands and confronted evil with their own freedom of speech.

Hundreds of Moore residents lined Broadway across from Central Junior High Sunday afternoon.

They were ready and waiting for members of the notorious Westboro Baptist Church.

Members of that church have long contended that God hates homosexuality and America’s tolerance of homosexuality.

They also claim that he sends disasters as punishment.

Church members had a permit to picket in front of the school, which has been housing Plaza Towers Elementary students since last year’s deadly tornado.

According to the Westboro website, they contend that God sent that tornado as retribution against Moore.

Amanda Eccles said, “It’s just sickening. You know, it’s just innocent kids that lost lives and it’s sickening for them to even think that way.”

Jeb Bush Says He Will Make a Decision of Presidential Run by End of Year and Illegal Immigrants Who Come to US in an “Act of Love” Deserve to Get Amnesty

To borrow Nancy Reagan’s anti-drug slogan of the 1980′s and apply it to Jeb Bush’s thoughts on running for president … “JUST SAY NO”!!!

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush says he will make a decision on a 2016 presidential run by the end of the year. Oh boy, I can’t wait. Let me just say that if the GOP wants to lose another election with a candidate along the lines of John McCain and Mitt Romney, then by all means have the elitist, establishment Republican party get behind Jeb. Let alone, we do not need another Bush as president. Just like we do not need another Clinton. It would appear that Instapundit and I agree! I think out of the 300 million people in the United States we can elect a president whose last name does not begin with Bush or Clinton.

Why do we not need a RINO like Jeb Bush as a GOP candidate? We need to look no further than his statement on Sunday that illegal immigrants who come to the United States as an “act out of love” for their families deserve to be treated differently than others who illegally cross U.S. borders or overstay visas. This is obviously code for, they deserve amnesty. I wonder if Jeb feels the same if an individual robs a bank, store or someone’s home out of love for their family or sells drugs is also the same?

A note to Jeb Bush … ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL!!! This is exactly the reason why so many have lost faith in establishment, limousine Republicans.

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said Sunday that many who illegally come to the United States do so out of an “act of love” for their families and should be treated differently than people who illegally cross U.S. borders or overstay visas.

Asked about immigration, Bush started by saying that a bipartisan bill passed by the Senate last year made “a good effort” at proposing ways to ensure that people overstaying visas leave the country.

“A great country ought to know where those folks are and politely ask them to leave,” he said, adding later that properly targeting people who overstay visas “would restore people’s confidence” in the nation’s immigration system.

“There are means by which we can control our border better than we have. And there should be penalties for breaking the law,” he added. “But the way I look at this — and I’m going to say this, and it’ll be on tape and so be it. The way I look at this is someone who comes to our country because they couldn’t come legally, they come to our country because their families — the dad who loved their children — was worried that their children didn’t have food on the table. And they wanted to make sure their family was intact, and they crossed the border because they had no other means to work to be able to provide for their family. Yes, they broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love. It’s an act of commitment to your family. I honestly think that that is a different kind of crime that there should be a price paid, but it shouldn’t rile people up that people are actually coming to this country to provide for their families.”

So Jeb, why have any immigration policy if you think that the United States is just one big welfare state meant to help others in other countries, rather than its own citizens? Jeb Bush does realize that an immigration policy is meant to protect the survival of a country by allowing individuals with talent and skills to strengthen a country, not to let anyone one in who is going to be nothing more than a burden on society.
