TSA Defending Us from Terrorism … Detain US Senator (KY-R) Rand Paul at Nashville Airport

UNREAL, the TSA has done it again. They can’t seem to prevent guns from making it through security, but they can certainly detain a US Senator. Nice job folks.

Senator Rand Paul (KY-R) was detained by the TSA at Nashville International Airport. Not only did they detain Rand Paul, the TSA also told him he was not allowed to use his cell phone when he tried to contact his office. Really. since when does the TSA have the right to tell you that you are not allowed to make calls? So much for Liberty America.

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul told The Daily Caller that being “detained” by the Transportation Security Administration at the Nashville airport Monday was a major ordeal that underscores flaws in TSA’s procedures that affect tens of millions of passengers every year.

“It was a big headache,” Paul said in a phone interview. “I missed my speech here. I was supposed to speak to the Right to Life March, probably the biggest audience I’ll get to speak to, and I missed it.”

The White House, through spokesman Jay Carney, defended the TSA’s actions during Monday’s press briefing by arguing that Paul wasn’t technically “detained.”

“Let’s be clear,” Carney said. “The passenger was not detained. He was escorted out of the area by local law-enforcement.”

Really, what would the story be if Michelle Obama was detained by the TSA?

UPDATE I: Nice, The Obama White House sides with the TSA police state. This is what is required for safe travel, really? Honestly, if this kind of nonsense is required for safe travel where the TSA cannot differentiate between a US Senator and a terrorist, we have already lost the war on terrorism.

White House press secretary Jay Carney said Monday that he didn’t have any reaction to Paul’s “police state” comments.

But Carney sided with the TSA saying, “I think it is absolutely essential that we take necessary actions to ensure that air travel is safe.”

More Brilliance from the TSA … Thought Elderly Woman’s Back Brace was a Money Belt

The ignorance continues by the TSA. Now they are protecting the flying public from elderly woman wearing back braces. That is correct, the brain surgeons at the TSA thought a woman’s back brace was a money belt. Just curious. what are the qualifications to become a TSA agent, a pulse?

In response to ongoing criticism for removing the back brace from an elderly woman who claims Transportation Security Agency (TSA) officers strip-searched her an airport, the TSA issued a “clarification” about their position on the incidents, claiming — contrary to an earlier TSA statement — that the woman’s back brace was removed because the security personnel thought it was a “money belt.”

“There was a bit of a miscommunication and our officers were told that the passenger was wearing a money belt,” explains a TSA blogger. “Unlike medical braces and supports, money belts must be removed since they’re not providing any type of medical benefit.” Last week, the TSA blog reported that the woman “told the officers that she was wearing a back brace or support belt which required private screening.”

Is the TSA ever going to get anything right? These people are a walking PR nightmare. Here is a hint to the TSA, forget the elderly woman and concentrate on those young guilty looking Muslim men wearing heavy coats in the middle of summer. Those are not back braces they are wearing, nor are they money belts, they are bomb belts.

85 Year Old Lenore Zimmerman Strip Searched at JFK Airport by TSA

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Obama … Merry Christmas from the TSA.

Lenore Zimmerman, an 85 year old Long Island grandmother strip searched at JFK International Airport. Yup, meet the face of radical Islamic terrorism. GOOD GRIEF!!! Wake up America  … have we lost complete common sense? In the name of PC, we don’t dare profile a Muslim male, but we think to put a granny through the ringer. As NRO states, the terrorist has won. However, is it the terrorists, or just plan stupidity of though and the political correctness of daring to offend and in stead doing the unthinkable of humiliating a senior?

An 85-year-old Long Island grandmother says she plans to sue the TSA after a humiliating strip search on Tuesday by agents at JFK Airport.

Lenore Zimmerman, who lives in Long Beach, says she was on her way to a 1 p.m. flight to Fort Lauderdale when security whisked her to a private room and took off her clothes.

“I walk with a walker — I really look like a terrorist,” she said sarcastically. “I’m tiny. I weigh 110 pounds, 107 without clothes, and I was strip-searched.”

TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said a review of closed circuit TV footage from the airport shows “proper procedures were followed.”

When will the TSA and the US Government get a clue as to really deal with terrorism?

Turnabout Gets You Arrested … Yukari Mihamae Gropes TSA Agent’s Breast at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport Security Checkpoint

It turns out when dealing with the TSA, turnabout is not fair play … it gets one arrested.

61 year old Yukari Mihamae has been arrested and charged with one count of  felony sexual abuse for grabbing the breast of a female TSA agent at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport security check point. Oh the irony. But of course it is perfectly ok for a TSA agent to fondle and grope the breasts and crotches of airport passengers. It’s even ok for TSA agent to grope 6 year old little girls. But when the tables are turned, they arrest the individual. Any one seeing the double standard here?

But now, a Colorado woman is accused of putting her hands on a TSA agent at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

Court records show 61-year-old Yukari Mihamae grabbed the left breast of the female agent Thursday at the Terminal 4 checkpoint.

Police say she squeezed and twisted the agent’s breast with both hands.

Officers say Mihamae admitted to the crime.

Supposedly the TSA is supposed to make changes to the way children are searched; however, the jury is still out as to whether that is just lip service.

UPDATE I: There Will Be No Felony Charges For Woman In TSA Groping Case

No felony charges will be filed against the Colorado woman who allegedly sexually assaulted a Transportation Security Administration agent in Phoenix.

On Tuesday the Maricopa County district attorney decided to turn the case of Yukari Miyamae, 61, of Longmont over to city prosecutors. She could still be charged with a misdemeanor.

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld Patted Down by TSA Brain Surgeon Agents

Another round of applause for the TSA … Way to keep America safe!!!

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is the latest victim of the TSA in their efforts to protect America from aged individuals who served the United States in the war on terror. That is correct, Donald Rumsfeld found himself in the evil eye of the TSA as they patted him down after setting off the metal detectors because of his two titanium hips and a titanium shoulder.

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was on the other side of the homeland security policies his administration helped to create today when he was held up and patted down at the airport after setting off the metal detectors on his way to board a flight.

“It takes those of us with two titanium hips and a titanium shoulder a bit longer to get through TSA,” Rumsfeld posted on his Twitter feed earlier this afternoon.

I guess we shouldn’t read anything into the fact that the TSA full Monte pat down was done in Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. These folks can’t seem to figure out how a stun gun gets aboard an airplane, but some how manages to give the old once aver to a former Secretary of Defense. I feel safe.
