Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel Shown the Door … Barack Obama Can Tolerate A Lot, Cluelessness, Incompetence & Laziness But Not Criticism

THAT WAS QUICK …

Barack Obama’s Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is out. Some say he resigned, others say it was a firing. In any event, Hagel has stepped down as Defense Secretary. Talk about a revolving door. On January 7, 2013, President Barack Obama nominated Hagel to serve as Secretary of Defense. On February 12, 2013, the Senate Armed Services Committee approved Hagel’s nomination. Now on 11/23/14, Hagel has resigned. The former Senator from Nebraska had many missteps and seemed like he was over his head from the outset. But how should that be any different from others in Obama’s inner circle, including Obama himself? However, it was Hagel’s criticism of Obama policy that ultimately led to his demise.  Hagel’s comment that ISIS is “like beyond anything we have ever seen” might have been the truth, but as we have seen on so many other occasions with the Obama presidency, there is no place for the truth with this administration.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s exit from the Obama administration came after weeks of discussion with President Obama over what role he would play in shaping defense policy over the last two years of his term.

The pair ultimately came to the conclusion that another leader would be better equipped to lead the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), senior administration and Defense officials said.

While aides described the departure as a mutual decision based on shifting priorities at the Department of Defense, there are signs that tensions between Hagel and the White House contributed to the personnel change.

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Hagel’s problems were not institutional, he was over his head from the beginning. Anybody who watched his hearings knew that, he knew that. He was sort of a non-presence for the first year or so. The irony is that he got tossed in the end and thrown under the bus because he actually sort of spoke up, spoke out and spoke the truth on the fact that the Syrian policy was entirely incoherent. He went against the White House and Susan Rice and the NSC, who were trying to manage his department and manage the Department of Defense over his head. And when he said the truth, he criticized the administration. Obama can tolerate a lot — cluelessness, incompetence, laziness — but not criticism; he had to go.

ISIS Terrorists Claims They Have Beheaded American Hostage Peter Kassig

ISIS BEHEADS AMERICAN HOSTAGE PETER KASSIG.

ISIS appears to have done it again. In a VIDEO, ISIS terrorists claim to have beheaded American hostage Peter Kassig. That now makes the 5th Westerner that ISIS has brutally murdered. The 26 year old Peter Kassig, also known as Abdul-Rahman Kassig, as he converted to Islam, was an aid worker in Syria prior to his capture. Kassig was a U.S. soldier and returned to the Middle East  as a medical worker, feeling compelled to help victims of war. Kassig’s parents had previously asked for mercy for their some; however, as we all know … ISIS has no mercy.

Kassig was an Army veteran who served in the Iraq war before he was honorably discharged for medical reasons in 2007.

Kassig later became an emergency medical technician and volunteered as a medical assistant in border hospitals in Lebanon in 2012, treating Palestinian refugees and those fleeing from the Syrian conflict.

In the fall of 2012, Kassig founded an NGO called SERA, Special Emergency Response and Assistance, eventually moving its base of operations to Turkey, according to a family spokesman. From there Kassig “sourced and delivered food and medical supplies to the growing [refugee] camps on both sides of the Syrian border.” He also gave primary trauma care to children caught in the crossfire.

Militants claim to have beheaded American hostage Peter Kassig in a video published to the Internet on Sunday, purportedly from terror group ISIS.
ISIS reportedly beheads Peter Kassig.

The video shows the aftermath of a beheading, in which the victim is not clearly recognizable. CNN has not been able to confirm the authenticity of the video nor the identity of the victim.

Kassig, 26, who converted to Islam in captivity, also went by the name Abdul-Rahman Kassig.

He went to the Middle East as a U.S. soldier and returned as a medical worker, feeling compelled to help victims of war.

He did aid work in Syria, where he was captured. He was held hostage for over a year.

Kassig’s parents, Ed and Paula Kassig, acknowledged the reports of their son’s death in a statement and said they would wait for government confirmation of their authenticity. They asked for privacy.

UPDATE I: Western Leaders React To Peter Kassig Beheading Video Posted By Islamic State.

Leaders of Australia and the U.K., as well as a representative of the U.S. National Security Council, have publicly denounced the contents of a video that allegedly shows members of the Islamic State militant group in Syria beheading Abdul-Rahman Kassig, an American aid worker who was born Peter Kassig. The militant group formerly known as either ISIL or ISIS purportedly posted the video online Sunday: It appears to show so-called Jihadi John, a militant responsible for previous hostage beheadings, holding Kassig’s head.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott denounced the footage at a press conference covered by the Guardian. Abbott would not comment on the video’s authenticity or whether he had seen any additional footage, saying only that the Islamic State group should be called a death cult.

British Prime Minister David Cameron posted on Twitter earlier Sunday, saying  he was horrified by what he called Kassig’s “cold-blooded murder”

Three Missing American Teenage Girls from Denver, CO Detained by FBI in Germany in Attempting to Join ISIS

It started out as a missing persons runaway report, with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, and then turned into something more bizarre and sinister …

Three America teens from Denver, Colorado who were reported missing have been found. According to FOX News, the three teens have been detained by the FBI in Germany attempting to travel to Syria to join ISIS.
Reported by VOA, the girls had vanished from their homes last week and traveled from Colorado to Chicago, and then Frankfurt. The girls have not been identified, but law enforcement officials said two are sisters, 15 and 17 years old,  and one is 16 years old. The two sisters are from Somalia and the 16 year old is from Sudan.

The FBI says it is investigating the possibility that three American teenage girls were attempting to join the Islamic State in Syria when they were detained in Germany.

A law enforcement source told Fox News Tuesday that the girls are home in Colorado after they were tracked down in Frankfurt. The three girls are all under the age of 18 and are not expected to face charges. Two of the girls are of Somali descent and one is of Sudanese descent, according to the source.

ABC News reported that a law enforcement official said the girls were planning to travel to Syria to join militant groups. The official told ABC News the teenagers planned “to fulfill what they believe is some vision that has been put out on a slick media campaign.”

ABC News – Three American Girls En Route to Syria Planned to Join Militant Groups.

This is part of a worrisome trend of “disaffected youth” who are being radicalized, the official said, pointing to the wider phenomenon of foreign fighters converging on the conflict in the region.

There have been other cases of high school age kids trying to get to Syria that haven’t been made public, the official said.

The girls were persuaded to travel overseas and were in contact with someone in Germany, the official said, noting that someone close to them notified authorities.

They were turned around and sent back to the United States, the official said, noting that because they are minors it remains unclear whether they will be charged with anything or be “arrested.”

The FBI has spoken to the teens and interviewed their families, and the agency said at this point they are not facing any charges. WHAT!!! HOW ARE THEY NOT FACING ANY CHARGES!!! WHY, BECAUSE THEY ARE TEEN GIRLS?

CBS ‘Face the Nation’: USA Today’s Susan Page Says American People Sense That Obama Administration “Not Competent” and Will Factor In November Midterm Elections

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION NOT COMPETENT ENOUGH TO PROTECT AMERICANS …

During this morning’s CBS “Face the Nation’, USA Today’s Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page stated to the panel that the American people sense that the Obama administration is not competent enough to protect them from things like ISIS, Ebola and even the recent Secret Service incompetence this will have a major factor in the 2014 midterm elections in November.

“You know, both of these stories, the Ebola virus and the threat from ISIS are feeding into a sense that a lot of Americans have that the world is not only a dangerous place but that government is not competent to handle it. […] I think that is a very dangerous thing for President Obama. The sense that his administration is not competent to protect the American people that is the most fundamental job of a US president. I think it is a big factor in the midterm elections.”
