Heavy Police Presence Expected for the 2015 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City

HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE FOR MACY’S DAY PARADE IN WAKE OF ISIS TERROR ATTACKS IN PARIS …

In the wake of the terror attacks in Paris, there is a expected to be a heavy police presence at this years Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Snoopy, Hello Kitty, SpongeBob and the Kool-Aid dude will be well protected by by a multitude of levels of security . Despite the pre-parade terror jitters, New York officials are expecting huge crows up to 3.5 million spectators in the parades 89th year.

As an expected three million spectators turn their eyes skyward on Thursday morning, police sharpshooters on rooftops will be peering down for any signs of trouble at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In addition to Snoopy and SpongeBob floating overhead, there will be mobile cameras and police helicopters, specially trained police dogs sniffing for traces of explosives and officers patrolling on horseback, said James P. O’Neill, the New York Police Department’s chief of department, its highest-ranking uniformed officer.

Observation posts, staffed by officers from the elite Emergency Service Unit, will be watching for suspicious activity; officers will use radiation detectors to seek out evidence of a dirty bomb; and teams of plainclothes officers will mix unobtrusively with revelers spread along the two and a half miles of the Manhattan parade route between 9 a.m. and noon.

“There will be a lot of police presence,” said Chief O’Neill, outlining elements of the department’s security measures at a briefing this week.

“Things the public will see and, of course, things the public will not see,” he said. “All of this will ensure that New York City has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving, as we do every year.”

With a record parade crowd expected, William J. Bratton, the police commissioner, said there would be more officers on duty than in the past. He encouraged people to “come on down” to see the parade, free from the anxieties the Paris attacks have sown, and to pitch in as extra eyes for law enforcement.

“There is no threat being directed against the parade,” Mr. Bratton said.

Joshua Campbell, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, echoed that, saying in an email, “There remains no specific or credible threat to the homeland.”

Ahead of the busiest travel season for Americans, the U.S. State Department has issued a travel alert for U.S. citizens to possible risks of travel due to increased terrorist threats. Although the State Department claims there has been no credible intelligence regarding a specific threat, they are still putting forth the warning. So what do they really know that they are not telling us? The Daily Caller makes an interesting point, Travel alerts are not uncommon for the State Department as they routinely issue warnings for Americans traveling abroad to various hotspots to on guard or consider canceling their plans altogether. However, in light of recent events, the State Department has taken the unusual step of issuing a “Worldwide Travel Alert.”

So be safe in your travels both home and abroad and of course there is no such thing as radical Islam tied to terrorism.

The State Department alerts U.S. citizens to possible risks of travel due to increased terrorist threats. Current information suggests that ISIL (aka Da’esh), al-Qa’ida, Boko Haram, and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions.  These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics, using conventional and non-conventional weapons and targeting both official and private interests.  This Travel Alert expires on February 24, 2016.

Authorities believe the likelihood of terror attacks will continue as members of ISIL/Da’esh return from Syria and Iraq.  Additionally, there is a continuing threat from unaffiliated persons planning attacks inspired by major terrorist organizations but conducted on an individual basis.  Extremists have targeted large sporting events, theatres, open markets, and aviation services.  In the past year, there have been multiple attacks in France, Nigeria, Denmark, Turkey, and Mali.  ISIL/Da’esh has claimed responsibility for the bombing of a Russian airliner in Egypt.

U.S. citizens should exercise vigilance when in public places or using transportation.  Be aware of immediate surroundings and avoid large crowds or crowed places.  Exercise particular caution during the holiday season and at holiday festivals or events.  U.S. citizens should monitor media and local information sources and factor updated information into personal travel plans and activities.  Persons with specific safety concerns should contact local law enforcement authorities who are responsible for the safety and security of all visitors to their host country.

GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump Says He Would Bring Back Waterboarding

Like him or hate him, you know exactly how he feels …

During his appearance this weekend on ABC’s “This Week” 2016 Republican presidential candidate was asked whether he would bring back waterboarding. Trump’s answer was yes, they don’t use waterboarding over there, they use chop off people’s heads. The Donald went on to say that waterboarding is peanuts compared to what they do to us and to what they did to James Foley. During the interview Donald Trump further stated he would create a database for all of the Syrian refugees to track them and he would provide surveillance on mosques. The Donald stated, “When the Syrian refugees are going to start pouring into this country, we don’t know if they’re ISIS, we don’t know if it’s a Trojan horse.”

“STEPHANOPOULOS: You also told Yahoo! News that we have to be doing things that were unthinkable a year ago. I want to get into what you had in mind. For example, do you think we should bring back enhanced interrogation like waterboarding?”

“TRUMP: Well, we have to be strong. You know, they don’t use waterboarding over there; they use chopping off people’s heads. They use drowning people. I don’t know if you’ve seen with the cages where they put people in cages and they drown them in the ocean and they lift out the cage. And we’re talking about waterboarding. We have to be tough –”

Donald Trump would “absolutely” bring back waterboarding as an accepted form of interrogation, he said today on ABC’s “This Week.”

Trump characterized waterboarding as a form of “strong interrogation” that is “peanuts” when compared to tactics used by ISIS against its hostages.

“I think waterboarding is peanuts compared to what they do to us,” the Republican presidential candidate said. “What they’re doing to us, what they did to James Foley when they chopped off his head, that’s a whole different level and I would absolutely bring back interrogation and strong interrogation.”

Trump also said he does not want to close any mosques in the United States but he does want to put them under surveillance. He previously said it may be necessary to close some mosques if it is determined “bad things are happening” in them.

When asked if he wants blanket surveillance across all the nation’s mosques, Trump said “strong measures” are necessary.

“The people that are involved in those mosques, they know who the bad ones are and they know who the good ones are, but they don’t talk,” he said. “We have to surveil the mosques.”

Of course the LEFT and the liberal MSM cries foul when they hear there will be a registry created of Muslim refugees who come to America who we have no clue who they are or if they are sympathetic to radical Islam and terrorism, but they are all for a gun registry of innocent law abiding citizens who rights are protected by the Second Amendment.

The Democrat Party is Trying to Tell Americans that we are Not At War With “Radical Islam”

Just curious Democrats, who is inciting fear? However, putting your head in the sand and pretending that RADICAL ISLAM is not at war with America is what brought us 9-11.

Are you kidding me, is this ad where Democrats are claiming GOP candidates are inciting fear from the DNC or the Onion? Democrats are refusing to call Islamists and radical jihadists who want to kill Americans and Westerners, the radical Islamist that they are? REALLY? Are these people stuck on stupid? What part of “radical” Islam don’t the Liberals quite get? Just how out of touch are Democrats, Americans, both Republicans Democrats and Independents are overwhelmingly in favor of using “radical Islam”.

This was meant to be an attack ad by Democrats but it plays more like a skit on SNL.

No one is saying all Muslims or Islam, they are classifying them as radical Islam. What might be even more comical is that they are using George W. Bush, the individual who said you are either with us or against us and coined the phrase axis of evil, to try and prove their liberal talking point. Seriously, the Democrats are praising George W. Bush? But I thought he was blamed by Obama and Democrats for all the evils of the world? This is truly pathetic. After bashing GWB for years, now as the Gateway Pundit opines, Democrats want Republicans to be more like him. You just can’t make this stuff up. Liberalism truly may just actually be a disease with no cure. If you can’t even name the enemy, how in the hell could anyone even think you are capable of defeating them?

Of course Democrats have no problem going after and inciting fear and saying they they are at war with Republicans, Conservatives and the Tea Party. Then again, who was it that backed the KKK?

As stated at BPR, The ad was roundly ridiculed as “tone-deaf,” “insulting to the American voter’s intelligence” and “just plain stupid” by conservative blogger Alex Griswold.  Atlanta radio host and RedState editor Erick Erickson pleaded with the Democrats to “run this ad over and over with a side of gun control ads.”

Rasmussen Reports: Voters Say to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Democrats … Yes, We Are at War with Radical Islam

It would appear that “We the People” are fed up with Obama, Clinton and Democrats telling them that they are racists, bigots and Islamophobes when it comes to the war on terror against radical Islam. According to a recent Rasmussen Report poll, 60% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the United States is at war with radical Islamic terrorism and just  24% share the president’s position and disagree. This is rather interesting heading into a presidential election in 2016 as Obama and Democrats refuse to use the term “radical Islam” for fear of hurting the feelings of Muslims. But as BPR opines, its not just Republicans voters who feel this way, 56% of Democrats believe America is at war with radical Islamic terrorism and 54% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

ISIS and terrorism under Obama isn’t going away any time soon as Barack Obama refuses to take the issue seriously which means that this will be a huge campaign issue in 2016 and the Democrats are not even close to being on the right side of the issue with the American people.

President Obama, Hillary Clinton and other senior Democrats refuse to say America is at war with “radical Islamic terrorism” for fear of insulting all Muslims, but voters beg to disagree.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 60% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the United States is at war with radical Islamic terrorism. Just 24% share the president’s position and disagree. Sixteen percent (16%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Even 56% of Democrats believe America is at war with radical Islamic terrorism, a view shared by 70% of Republicans and 54% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

A staggering 92% of all voters now regard radical Islamic terrorism as a serious threat to the United States. This includes 73% who say it is a Very Serious one, up 23 points from 50% in October of last year.

Voters are also more reluctant now to agree with Obama that the radical Islamic State group (ISIS) which masterminded the massacres in Paris last weekend is not a reflection of Islam itself. A plurality (46%) still thinks the president is right when he says ISIS does not represent true Islamic beliefs. But that’s down noticeably from 58% who felt that way in February after the president gave a speech equating the atrocities committed by ISIS with past sins of Christianity. Thirty-five percent (35%) now believe ISIS does represent Islamic beliefs. One-in-five voters (19%) are not sure.
