Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Hammers DOJ’s Eric Holder on Compromised Integrity of IRS Investigation
How could this not be considered a conflict of interest?
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Attorney General Eric Holder on the impartiality and conflict of interest in the IRS investigation of conservative groups and Tea Party organizations by the IRS. To data no one has been held accountable, even though President Obama and Holder both initially proclaimed their outrage. However, of all the attorneys in the Justice department, he managed to find one to lead the investigation that was a big Obama campaign donor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! What would happen if a Republican administration did the same? These folks are as corrupt as it gets.
“In the 280 days since that inspector general report, nobody has been indicted,” Cruz said. “Not a single person. In the 280 days since that inspector general report, it’s been publicly reported that no indictments are planned. Today in this hearing, you were unwilling to answer a question whether even a single victim of targeting has been interviewed.”
And, Cruz said, “most astonishingly, it has now been publicly reported that the lead lawyer heading the investigation was, No. 1, appointed from the civil rights division, which has historically been the most politically charged division in the Dept. of Justice. And even more astonishingly, is a major Democratic donor and donor to President Obama.”
Hmm, what does the Obama administration and IRS have to hide … I thought this was supposed to be the most transparent presidency ever? Time to appoint an independent prosecutor. Where is the MSM reporting this abuse of power?
Attorney General Eric Holder had a long day on Wednesday. He clashed with a number of no-nonsense lawmakers during a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, including Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Cruz pressed Holder on the Justice Department’s investigation into the IRS targeting scandal, calling the results of the probe “astonishing.”
“In my view, the integrity of the Department of Justice has been severely compromised,” Cruz told Holder. “Predecessors of yours in both parties, Democrat and Republican, when faced with serious charges of abuse of power for partisan gain have made the right decision and appointed special prosecutors.”
“I would call upon you to carry out the tradition of independence that attorneys general have honored that office with for centuries and protect the integrity of the Department of Justice,” he later added. “Given the political sensitivities, given the fact that individual citizens believe they are being persecuted by the federal government for partisan reasons.”

Top IRS Official Lois Lerner Quits and Gets to Keep Her Six Figure Pension … VIDEO of Varney & Bozell Discussing No MSM Coverage of Scandals
LOIS LERNER QUITS …
The Washington Times is reporting that Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the heart of the IRS scandal that targeted conservative non-profit groups and the Tea Party has quit. Basically, Lerner read the “Tea” leaves and quit before she was fired. In the process of her voluntary departure prior to facing the fire, Lerner will get her full tax payer paid 6 figure pension. So the question remains, what does this woman have to hide and why is she willing to get out of Dodge in order to attempt to do so? Lerner has been on administrative leave for months, with pay of course.
So will “We the People” get stuck for paying this woman’s pension when most likely she should be charged criminally for her actions and abuse of power?
Lois G. Lerner, the woman at the center of the IRS tea party targeting scandal, retired from the agency Monday morning after an internal investigation found she was guilty of “neglect of duties” and was going to call for her ouster, according to congressional staff.
Her departure marks the first government official to pay a significant price in the scandal, though Republicans were quick to say her decision doesn’t put the matter to rest and pointed out that she still can be called before Congress to testify.
The Internal Revenue Service confirmed Ms. Lerner’s retirement in a statement but said it couldn’t release any more information because of privacy concerns.
Rep. Sander M. Levin of Michigan, the ranking Democrat on the HouseWays and Means Committee, said an accountability review board set up to investigate the people at the agency involved with the scandal completed their review and were set to recommend Ms. Lerner’s ouster. The review board, though, found no evidence of political bias, he said.
More from The Heritage Foundation.
Regardless of what happens to Lerner, who is entitled to a presumption of innocence, it is vital that Congress continue to investigate this matter to find out exactly what happened at the IRS. The IRS is one of the most powerful agencies in the federal government. Its bureaucrats have the ability to devastate and ruin the lives, businesses, and prosperity of every American—as well as the membership associations that form a fundamental part of our body politic and through which citizens assert their views and opinions.
We should not forget the danger posed by an out-of-control and abusive IRS. We should determine why this happened, who authorized it, and what steps need to be taken to make sure it does not happen again.
From News Busters, Stuart Varney and Brent Bozell discuss the MSM completely ignoring the IRS scandals since July and in turn providing cover for the Obama White House.
We see the revelation that IRS culprits gave themselves or got promotions. We saw the evidence that they are in fact going after the Tea Party. We saw the evidence that came out that Lois Lerner, who plead the Fifth and who has suggested that it was the Cincinnati operatives who were responsible for this, in fact had emails saying, don’t give it to them, give it to higher ups.
We have evidence that they were illegally obtaining donor files and then promising to destroy them while keeping them. We’ve now learned that they were going after tax-exempt organizations who mentioned ObamaCare. This is how bad it’s gotten

IRS Spied on Tea Party after Granting Tax-exempt Status
File this one under, no kidding, really?
The Washington Times is reporting that the IRS continued to spy on Tea Party organization, even after they were granted tax-exempt status. Yea, are we really going to believe that these conservative organizations were not purposely and willfully being targeted by the IRS? This scandal is not even close to being exposed. What ever happened to that transparency that Barack Obama spoke of while campaigning to be president?
Republicans investigating the IRS targeting scandal said Wednesday that the agency continued to conduct secret surveillance on tea party groups even after approving them for tax-exempt status.
Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel said he shut down the monitoring program after he found out about it, and said he has halted all audits of tax-exempt organizations based on political activity as he tries to get a handle on the embattled agency
Mr. Werfel, who was tapped four months ago to clean up the Internal Revenue Service after the targeting came to light, also told Congress he is troubled by emails sent by Lois G. Lerner, the woman at the center of the targeting scandal, that raise questions about her behavior. He said he has asked internal investigators to follow up on those emails.
“There are certain documents that raise questions, and when I looked at them I thought they raised questions,” Mr. Werfel said. “The ones that I thought raised questions I provided directly to [the inspector general], and I also provided them to the accountability review board within the IRS, which is set up to review this matter to see what actions may warrant personnel action or discipline.”
Ask yourself, who had the most to gain by the Tea Party surveillance and harassment? That would be Obama’s reelection of course.

Tennessee: State Rep. Joe Carr Announces Tea Party Primary Challenge to Republican Incumbent Sen. Lamar Alexander
Hey Tennessee … Its time you have Representation that reflects the views of your state, not a RINO.
Tennessee State Representative Joe Carr has announced that he is going to primary challenge Republican incumbent US Senator Lamar Alexander next year. Carr announced his primary challenge to Alexander on Ralph Bristol’s conservative talk show on 99.7 WTN. Carr was running against the embattled U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais for the GOP nomination in the state’s 4th congressional district; however, has decided to shift his focus to defeating moderate and “the most liberal” member of the Tennessee Republican delegation. It was anticipated that some one would challenge Alexander as the 73 year old Alexander’s views hardly reflect the Republican “red” Volunteer state these days. As reported at News Channel 5, Carr, of Lascassas, said “He’s [Alexander]getting into the race because Alexander is “too liberal” for Tennessee”.
Tennessee State Rep. Joe Carr
State Rep. Joe Carr announced today he will challenge U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander in next year’s Republican primary.
In his announcement on Ralph Bristol’s conservative talk show on 99.7 WTN, Carr called Alexander “the most liberal” member of the state’s Republican delegation.
Insiders had anticipated a tea party candidate would challenge the 73-year-old Alexander, who has become a target of those from the far right.
So who will the current conservative politicians in Tennessee support? Many of them pander to the Tea Party, well its time to put up or shut up. And that means you US Rep. Marsha Blackburn. A vote for Joe Carr and his primary challenge to Lamar Alexander would show a clear message to the establishment Republicans who seem more concerned with maintaining power than they do acting like Republicans with GOP principles. He has my vote.
