BOSTON RED SOX WIN WORLD SERIES … Wins Game Six over St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 and Clinch WS at Fenway for first time in 95 Years … David Ortiz Wins MVP

RED SOX WIN WORLD SERIES … THEY ARE GOING TO PARTY IN BOSTON LIKE ITS 1918!!!

The Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6 to 1 in game six of the World Series. It is the first time in 95 years that the Red Sox have won a World Series clinching game in the friendly confines of Fenway Park since 1918 … 95 years!!!

Boston Red Sox proved too “BOSTON STRONG” For Cardinals.

Red Sox

The Cardinals were chicken tonight in walking Boston’s amazing DH and future Hall of Famer David “Big Papi” Ortiz four times, 3 intentionally. However, that did not stop some unlikely heroes to step up to the plate and deliver. Right fielder Shane Victorino did not have a hit coming into tonight’s game and then went 2 for 3 with 4 rbi’s, including a 3 run double in the 3rd inning that put the Sox ahead 3-0. Then SS Stephen Drew who had only one hit, delivered a solo home run putting the Sox up 4-0. However, the two stand outs of the 2013 World Series were DH/1st David Ortiz who batted an amazing .688 and starting pitcher John Lester who won two games and gave up only 2 runs.

UPDATE I: Red Sox win World Series with Game 6 victory over Cardinals.

The Red Sox, defeated the Cardinals 6-1 on Wednesday to win their eighth World Series title and cap a wicked good worst-to-first season that delighted a city dealing with the aftermath of the deadly bombings at its signature marathon in April.

Shane Victorino drove in four runs with a bases-loaded double in the third and an RBI single in the fourth as Boston took the Series four games to two.

Leading hitter for the Red Sox, David Ortiz, walked four times — three times intentionally — and scored two runs.

A resurgent John Lackey pitched six strong innings before fading in the seventh and leaving with the bases loaded with a 6-1 lead. But reliever Junichi Tazawa got out Allen Craig to blunt the Cardinals’ comeback attempt.

UPDATE II: DAVID “BIG PAPI” ORTIZ WINS MVP!!!

Big Papi, the man who epitomized the grit, determination and will to stay “Boston” strong for the good folks of Boston and helped them overcome the heinous terror attack at the Boston Marathon earlier this year, has been a  cult hero in Boston and New England for years. The talented, joking, always smiling and now we learn, rather good 1st baseman has been a team leader for years and is the only remaining player since the Red Sox 2004 World Series victory.  However, Ortiz went even beyond even that when he proudly and defiantly stood up to terrorism …  “This is Our F*cking City and No One is Going to Dictate Our Freedom… Stay Strong!”

Liberal Sports Commentator Bob Costas Does DNC Infomercial on “Redskins” Rant During Cowboy-Washington NFL Game

Thanks Bob Costas for that DNC infomercial … More liberal media bias.

As if following the lead of Barack Obama on suddenly making the name ‘Redskin’s’ the most important issue in America as we face a government shutdown, debt limit default, over-spending, jobless recovery, and record number of American on food stamps, NBC’s Bob Costas decided to provide us with some perils of wisdom to pressure the Washington Redskins into changing their name. Yup, during half-time of last nights Cowboys – Redskins game, Costas provided a free DNC commercial.

So, at halftime of the Sunday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington REDSKINS, Bob Costas decided to lay down some wisdom on America. He started out okay in his discussion of Obama’s new pet project, to pressure Washington into changing the name of the football team, but almost at the end when you were sufficiently sucked in, he threw out the bombshell…..the use of the term “Redskins” is indeed offensive … a nasty slur.

And there you have it. Just like Global Warming, um, I mean Climate Change, the debate about the term “Redskins” is now settled science. Expect for Washington to be changing their name very soon.

Just curious Bob, you have been a sports announcer for 30+ years, why is it all of a sudden that you decided to speak out against the name change? Oh that’s right, you got the talking points ok to do so from Barack Obama. Even though a majority of Americans, including Native Americans are against a name change. But Bob and Barack know better.

2 Year Old Son of Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Dies from Injuries Suffered after Being Abused (Update: Suspect Joseph Robert Patterson Arrested, Charged with Aggravated Battery & Assault of an Infant

Two year old son of Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson died Friday night from injuries suffered from child abuse at a Sioux City, South Dakota hospital. Police have arrested 27 year old Joseph Robert Patterson and he has been charged with aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated assault. Patterson is the 2 year old’s mother’s boyfriend, who has a history of violence against women and children. Also, now that the 2 year old boy has died from his injuries as a result from child abuse injuries, Patterson will most likely see murder charges added as well.  Joseph Robert Patterson made his first court appearance Friday morning in Canton, where a judge set bond at $750,000 cash only.

Police and a prosecutor on Friday refused to identify the victim or his parents, except on court documents that give the boy’s birth date and the initials T.R.R. But Peterson’s father, Nelson, told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that the child is one of Peterson’s children

CNN:

A 2-year-old boy who was reportedly the son of Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson died Friday of injuries he suffered after allegedly being abused, police said.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, police said Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, has been charged with aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated assault. If convicted on the charges, both felonies, Patterson could face up to 40 years in prison and an $80,000 fine.

Prosecutors are considering filing additional charges against Patterson in light of the boy’s death, according to police.

Soon after the news came out of the boy’s death, Adrian Peterson took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his family, fans and the “fraternity of brothers” in the NFL for their support.

“God Bless everyone and thank u so much,” he wrote.

UPDATE I: Man Accused of Killing Adrian Peterson’s 2 Year Old Son had History of Violence:

Court records show Patterson has a history of domestic violence.

He was indicted in June 2012 on several counts of simple assault involving an ex-girlfriend and her 3-year-old son, and later was charged for violating a no-contact order. He was sentenced to one year in jail for both cases but that time was suspended on the condition he attend domestic violence counseling.

Once Again Barack Obama Uninformed … Turns Out that an Overwhelming Majority of Americans Do Not Want Redskin’s Name Changed, Including Native Americans

Just how uninformed is the smartest President ever?

Over the weekend President commented that if he was the owner of the Washington Redskins, he would consider changing the name. Obama’s exact words were that if the name Redskins offended “a sizable group of people” then the name should be changed. HUH? Maybe Obama should have done his home work before he mouthed off about something that he knows little about. But then again, he has a history of making divisive comments and acting “stupidly”.  As it turns out, a sizable amount of people are for the Redskins name to stay as it is. An AP poll from April 2013 shows that 79% of Americans believe that the Redskins should keep their name as is. How is that for wide-spread support Mr. President?

One would think that there are greater priorities as President than the name of a privately owned professional sports team

But a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows that nationally, “Redskins” still enjoys widespread support. Nearly four in five Americans don’t think the team should change its name, the survey found. Only 11 percent think it should be changed, while 8 percent weren’t sure and 2 percent didn’t answer.

Although 79 percent favor keeping the name, that does represent a 10 percentage point drop from the last national poll on the subject, conducted in 1992 by The Washington Post and ABC News just before the team won its most recent Super Bowl. Then, 89 percent said the name should not be changed, and 7 percent said it should.

The AP-GfK poll was conducted from April 11-15 and included interviews with 1,004 adults on both land lines and cell phones. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.

Attorney Lanny Davis responded for the Washington Redskins in an effort to inform Obama.

Hours after President Barack Obama said he would “think about changing” the Redskins team name because it offends “a sizable group of people,” the organization responded in a statement through attorney Lanny Davis.

“As a supporter of President Obama, I am sure the President is not aware that in the highly respected independent Annenberg Institute poll (taken in 2004) with a national sample of Native Americans, 9 out of 10 Native Americans said they were not bothered by the name the ‘Washington Redskins.’” Davis said. “The President made these comments to the Associated Press, but he was apparently unaware that an April 2013 AP poll showed that 8 out of 10 of all Americans in a national sample don’t think the Washington Redskins’ name should be changed.

From the Divider in Chief: Barack Obama Says If He Owned the Washington Redskins He Would Think About Changing the Name

PRIORITIES from the Community Agitator …

With a US economy on the skids, record number of Americans on food stamps, a government shut down, a pending debt limit default and a national debt about to go over $17 trillion … President Barack Obama returns to his divisive ways and thinks discussing the name of the NFL Washington Redskins is some national, important issue. Barack Obama told the AP that is he was the owner of the Washington Redskins, he would think about changing their name. For one sir, you are not their owner so basically your opinion means nothing. You would think that Obama would be more concerned with not barricading WWII memorials and preventing ‘Our Greatest Generation’ heroes from visiting a memorial that honors them. But no, Obama goes back to discussing racism instead.

Since Chief Shitting Bull has already been taken, maybe we can refer to Obama as Chief Who Speaks With Forked Teleprompter

President Barack Obama says he would “think about changing” the Washington Redskins’ name if he owned the football team as he waded into the controversy involving a word many consider offensive to Native Americans.

Obama, in an interview with The Associated Press, said team names such as the Redskins offend “a sizable group of people.” He said that while fans get attached to the names, nostalgia may not be a good enough reason to keep them in place.

“I don’t know whether our attachment to a particular name should override the real legitimate concerns that people have about these things,” he said in the interview, which was conducted Friday at the White House.

An avid sports fan who roots for his hometown Chicago Bears, Obama said he doesn’t think Washington football fans are purposely trying to offend American Indians. “I don’t want to detract from the wonderful Redskins fans that are here. They love their team and rightly so,” he said.
