Do Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Supporters Understand Socialism & Who is Going to Pay for It? (VIDEO)

Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips took a trip to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district to ask her supporters what they thought of her Democratic-Socialist agenda. They were all for free stuff, they were just unsure how and who was going to pay for all that free stuff. These clueless individuals think government grows money on trees and that is who will pay for all their free stuff. They don’t even realize that it will be their neighbor who pays for it. Sadly, they don’t even know what conservatism is, except for some ridiculous definition they were provided by a socialist professor or the liberal media. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s supporters seem as ignorant to the facts as she is.

All you socialist lovers, how’s it working for the people in Venezuela … how about the donkeys?

Ocasio-Cortez gained notoriety nationwide not just for her youth, but for her unabashed embrace of Democratic Socialism.

In her official platform, Ocasio-Cortez offers support for free college, “housing as a human right”,  “medicare for all,” and a mandatory minimum living wage.

Wanting to know if her supporters liked the idea of Democratic Socialism, and if they’d support the government offering these services for free, I headed to Ocasio-Cortez’s district, in Astoria, NY.

People on the street were quick to offer support for Ocasio-Cortez’s brand of socialism, and overwhelmingly supported her vision for the district.

They were more hesitant, however, to offer ideas for how to pay for all of the free things that Ocasio-Cortez is promising.

“I don’t know where the money would come from, but they can figure it out,” one person stated confidently.

“Oh, God… Us, I guess,” conceded another.

One supporter seemed to think Americans would be okay with paying higher taxes, saying “with a good idea, and a good reason to spend their tax money, people wouldn’t actually mind paying more taxes.”

Another admitted that they’re not quite sure what it is that they like about Ocasio-Cortez’s economic philosophy, but insisted that “I just know that democratic socialist is better than conservative.”

Bernie Sanders Says, “Our Socialist Ideas are Winning” … And Sanders Also Said, “Do you think in a year or two suddenly we transform the entire Democratic Party”

I GUESS SOCIALIST HAVE THEIR OWN DEFINITION OF WINNING …

Hmm, Donald Trump is President, their is a Republican controlled House Republican controlled Senate, the economy is booming once Trump was elected and allowed capitalist principles to take over and some how self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders says his socialist ideas are winning. Two takes from Bernie’s interview with Chris Cuomo, one is a total joke, but the others should frighten old time Democrats.

When Cuome asked, “Why aren’t you doing better, You had a lot of guys lose. I don’t think you’re even at 500.” The socialist Sanders actually had the audacity to say, “Chris, that is in all due respect not an intelligent way to look at it.” HUH? So actually winning a political election isn’t an intelligent way of gauging whether you are winning. Alrighty then. I guess Bernie thinks participation trophies are winning.

However, this is the comment that should push all blue collar, hard working middle class Democrats to vote Republican and Trump … “Do you think that — you know a little bit about politics. Do you think in a year or two suddenly we transform the entire Democratic Party.” Attention blue collar Democrats, this dude and progressives want to transform the Democrat party to the Socialist party.

CUOMO: “All right. One more beat on the political state of play and then policy. I did a lot of homework for you tonight, senator. On politics you said part of the remedy is new blood, new candidates. A great book about this. Handbook for revolution. You know, with a small ‘R.’ How you take back control of the democracy. Your candidates are not doing great. What did you get wrong?”
SANDERS: “Not — not true. Look, Chris. Do you think that — you know a little bit about politics. Do you think in a year or two suddenly we transform the entire Democratic Party, take on big money, take on the establishment? The truth of the matter is what we have been focusing on is grassroots activism and doing extremely well. We have been —”
CUOMO: “Why aren’t the candidates winning more?”
SANDERS: “Oh, my God, they’re winning all over the country.”
CUOMO: “You had a lot of guys lose. I don’t think you’re even at 500.”
SANDERS: “Chris, that is in all due respect not an intelligent way to look at it. I can be at 100% if I keep — supported candidates who had all the money and the power and the poll. We are trying to support candidates who are fighting for working people and by the way where we are winning hands down is that our Progressive agenda which is as you will remember is considered to be fringe and extreme, that’s kind of mainstream now. Raising the minimum wage to 15 bucks a hour. Making public colleges and universities tuition free. Rebuilding the infrastructure.”
CUOMO: “Right.”
SANDERS: “Our ideas on winning and at the grassroots level more and more people are getting involved.”

Of course one might ask the Socialist Sanders why he isn’t supporting or endorsing his own son in his Congressional race in New Hampshire.

As white supremacists go, Joey Gibson makes for a lousy one. For starters, he’s half Japanese. “I don’t feel like I’m Caucasian at all,” he says. Not to be a stickler for the rules, but this kind of talk could get you sent to Master Race remedial school.

The founder of Patriot Prayer—a Vancouver, Wash.-based operation that sponsors rallies and marches promoting freedom and First Amendment rights along with all-purpose unity—also spews hippie-dippie rhetoric like “moderates have to come together” and “love and peace [are] the only way to heal this country.” Joey tends to sound less like an alt-right bully boy than a conflict-resolution facilitator or a Unitarian Sunday school teacher.

For his late August “Liberty Weekend” in the Bay Area, which was to include a free speech rally in San Francisco followed by a “No to Marxism” rally in Berkeley (headed by a local “transsexual patriot”), Joey advertised that “no extremists will be allowed in. No Nazis, Communists, KKK, Antifa, white supremacists .??.??. or white nationalists.” (So much for free speech.) Likewise, the advertised docket of speakers was to include “three blacks, two Hispanics, one Asian, one Samoan, one Muslim, two women, and one white male.” If becoming a liberty movement fixture doesn’t work out for Gibson, he has a promising future as a UC Berkeley admissions officer.

Despite all this, you’d have thought from the avalanche of alarmist walk-up stories that Gibson and friends would be dancing in a “Springtime for Hitler” kick line. Donald Trump, of course, who draws frequent Hitler comparisons in some quarters, has already set nerves on edge with his nativist rhetoric, perpetually divisive style, and what’s widely perceived as his winks ’n’ nods to white nationalists. But in the wake of the recent white supremacist hoedown in Charlottesville—a cesspool of racial hatred that resulted in the death of anti-racism activist Heather Heyer when a Nazi fanboy drove his Dodge Challenger into her and 19 others—opportunistic leftists/Democrats have been on the prowl to paint everyone to the right of Angela Davis as a dangerous racist lunatic.

Liberal & Obama Supporter Attorney Jonathan Turley Says Expansion of Barack Obama’s Presidential Powers Threatens Liberty

Last night on ‘The Kelly Files,’ Jonathan Turley, a liberal Constitutional attorney and Obama supporter said a mouthful last night with regards to the imperial president, Barack Obama’s “unilateral” and Unconstitutional actions.  Turley stated, “I’m afraid this is beginning to border on a cult of personality for people on the left” and Well, you know, a system in which a single individual is allowed to rewrite legislation or ignore legislation is a system that borders on authoritarianism.”

This is a must watch interview and remember, this is coming from a lib. Turley is basically describing … “TYRANNY”.

Transcript from Real Clear Politics:

KELLY: Let me ask you about this because in that soundbite we played before we went to commercial, you said the framers would be horrified because everything they did was to create balance between the branches of government and we’ve lost that.

TURLEY: Well, I’m afraid it’s quite serious because the framers created a system that was designed to avoid one principle thing, the concentration of power in any one branch. Because that balancing between these branches in this fixed orbit is what not only gives stability to our system but it protects us against authoritarian power, it protects civil liberties from abuse.

And what we’ve been seeing is the shift of gravity within that system in a very dangerous way that makes it unstable, and I think that’s what the president is doing. I think that we’ve become a nation of enablers. We are turning a blind eye to a fundamental change in our system. I think many people will come to loathe that they remained silent during this period.

KELLY: We heard a lot of objections when President Bush expanded the powers of the presidency from the left and from the media. They haven’t been raising the same objections now that we have a Democrat in The White House. And you say they do so at their own peril.

TURLEY: I’m afraid this is beginning to border on a cult of personality for people on the left. I happen to agree with many of President Obama’s policies, but in our system it is often as important how you do something as what you do.

And I think that many people will look back at this period in history and see nothing but confusion as to why people remained so silent when the president asserted these types of unilateral actions. You have a president who is claiming the right to basically rewrite or ignore or negate federal laws. That is a dangerous thing. It has nothing to do with the policies; it has to do with politics.

KELLY: Why is it so dangerous? What’ so bad that will come of this?

TURLEY: Well, you know, a system in which a single individual is allowed to rewrite legislation or ignore legislation is a system that borders on authoritarianism. I don’t believe that we are that system yet. But we cannot ignore that we’re beginning to ignore a system that is a pretense of democracy if a president is allowed to take a law and just simply say, ‘I’m going to ignore this,’ or, ‘I’m going to shift funds that weren’t appropriated by Congress into this area.’

The president’s State of the Union indicated this type of unilateralism that he has adopted as a policy. Now, many people view that as somehow empowering. In my view, it’s dangerous, that is what he is suggesting is to essentially put our system off line. This is not the first time that convenience has become the enemy of principle. But we’ve never seen it to this extent.

KELLY: What is supposed to be done about it? You know, I know in your testimony before Congress you cited Ben Franklin who believed that the other branches would work in their own self interest to try to reign in a president who got drunk on his own power, or however you want to put it. You know, Congress doesn’t have — they can withdrawal money, they can move to impeach, they can file lawsuits –which they’ve done — I mean, what are they supposed to do?

TURLEY: Part of the problem really rests with the federal courts. For the last two decades, federal courts have been engaged in a policy of avoidance. They are not getting involved when the executive branch exceeds its powers, they’re just leaving it up to the branches. And often they say Congress has the power of the purse, Congress can simply restrict funds.

But one of the complaints against President Obama is that very clearly dedicated funds in areas like healthcare, have been just shifted by the White House unilaterally to different areas. And the courts have adopted this avoidance policy.

I am astonished by the degree of passivity in Congress, particularly by Democrats. You know, I first came to Congress when I was a young page and there were people that fiercely believed in the institution. It didn’t matter what party held the White House. But what we’re seeing now is the usurpation of authority that’s unprecedented in this country.

As predicted Millenium/Lionsgate’s The Expendables 2 will finish in first place Friday and this weekend. It’s followed by Universal’s The Bourne Legacy in second place and the Rocky Mountain Pictures’ documentary 2016 Obama’s America in third place after starting out Friday #1. That’s  stunning because it’s playing in a 1/3 less theaters across North American than the other wide release actioners.
