Jerry Sandusky was taken out of his home in handcuffs by the Centre County District Attorney’s office on Wednesday afternoon to face two new criminal charges of child sex abuse. He was sent to the county jail after being unable to post the $250,000 bail.

“Today’s criminal charges were recommended by a statewide investigating grand jury, based on evidence and testimony that was received following the initial arrest of Sandusky on November 5th,” Attorney General Kelly said in a statement.”

Press Statement from Attorney General Kelly:

According to the grand jury, Victim 9 first encountered Sandusky in approximately 2004, while participating in a summer camp organized by The Second Mile, when he was 11 or 12 years old. Sandusky allegedly approached the young man, engaged him in conversation and expressed an interest in spending more time with the child.

Syracuse University Fires Asst Basketball Coach Bernie Fine in Wake of Sex Scandal, Tape Release Fine’s Wife, “Bernie has issues, maybe that he’s not aware of, but he has issues. …”

WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S … FIRED!!!

In the wake of the Syracuse sex scandal, assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine has been fired by Syracuse University. As the investigation continues in the alleged accusations of sexual molestation by Bernie Fine, the asst coach finds himself out of a job after 36 years and in hot water. The firing comes after a third individual came forward with allegation of sexual molestation and a search of Fine’s home over the weekend by Syracuse police and US Secret Service agents.

Bernie Fine was fired Sunday by Syracuse University after a third man accused the assistant basketball coach of molesting him nine years ago.

“At the direction of Chancellor Cantor, Bernie Fine’s employment with Syracuse University has been terminated, effective immediately,” Kevin Quinn, the school’s senior vice president for public affairs, said in a statement.

The 65-year-old Fine was in his 36th season at his alma mater. He had the longest active streak of consecutive seasons at one school among assistant coaches in Division I.

After the tape of Bernie Fine’s wife, Laurie Fine, came forward, LISTEN HERE, it was hard to believe that Fine would not be fired and worse. The tape of Fine’s wife was recorded without her knowledge at the time. The tape obviously shows that Fine’s wife had concerns of Bernie Fine’s sexual molestation. YIKES!!! The tape is troubling and disturbing to listen to … um, ESPN had this how long ago?

Bobby Davis, who has publicly accused Bernie Fine of years of molestation that Davis said started when he was in the seventh grade, legally recorded his Oct. 8, 2002, phone call to Laurie Fine.

“I know everything that went on, you know,” Laurie Fine said on the call, obtained by Outside the Lines from Davis. “I know everything that went on with him … Bernie has issues, maybe that he’s not aware of, but he has issues … And you trusted somebody you shouldn’t have trusted … ”

She continued: “Bernie is also in denial. I think that he did the things he did, but he’s somehow through his own mental telepathy has erased them out of his mind.”

Long time Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim released a statement regarding the firing of Fine. Boeheim had initially defended Fine when the story first broke; however, he has obviously developed a change of heart and stated that he was sorry if his initial comments in defense of Fine were “insensitive to victims of abuse.”

“The allegations that have come forth today are disturbing and deeply troubling,” Boeheim said in a statement released by the school. “I am personally very shocked because I have never witnessed any of the activities that have been alleged. I believe the university took the appropriate step tonight. What is most important is that this matter be fully investigated and that anyone with information be supported to come forward so that the truth can be found. I deeply regret any statements I made that might have inhibited that from occurring or been insensitive to victims of abuse.”

First Penn State and now Syracuse University. One really has to wonder how many colleges and universities have such deep dark skeletons in their closets? Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

Former Penn State Defensive Coach Jerry Sandusky Admits Showering & Horsing Around with Little Boys but says He is Not a Pedophile

This story might be one of the biggest WTF ever!!!

Good grief, Jerry Sandusky’s comments sound an awful lot like,  I smoked pot but I never inhaled.

Sandusky has admitted to showering and horsing around with young boys, in an interview with NBC’s Bob Costas; however, he denied being a pedophile. What a relief  that is to everyone, because we all thought you were. Now we, the boys your showered with and their distraught parents can sleep easy tonight. NOT!!!  Sandusky also proclaimed his innocence of the 40 sex crime charges against him. This perv is in enough trouble, doing an interview was probably not the wisest of moves. I think damage control is a lit late at this point. As stated at Hot Air, “isn’t it weird that a guy who was investigated for child sexual abuse in 1998 was still willing to risk people getting the wrong impression about him four years later?”  Because I am sure what grad student McQueary  witnessed  was only Sandusky showering with a 10 year old boy and not child rape. Oh, alleged child rape.

“I say that I am innocent of those charges,” said Sandusky in a phone interview with Costas.

When asked by Costas, “Are you a pedophile,” Sandusky responded, “No.”

Joe Paterno’s one-time defensive coordinator was charged earlier this month with 40 counts of sexually abusing eight boys. He is currently free on a $100,000 bond and has denied any wrongdoing. The allegations date back to 1994, according to a grand jury report. A grand jury report detailed claims of alleged sexual encounters with young boys in Sandusky’s home, hotels and Penn State locker rooms.

“I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact,” said Sandusky.

When pressed by Costas about what Sandusky was willing to concede that he’d done wrong, Sandusky said: “I shouldn’t have showered with those kids.”

No kidding, really? Has it finally come as an epiphany to Sandusky that he should not have showered with little boys, SERIOUSLY!!! This pervert showered with little boys, hugged and touched them … oh but of course there was no intent of sexual contact. PLEASE DO NOT INSULT OUR INTELLIGENCE!!! We are all certain that you just showered and touched them to make sure they properly used the soap.

Saturday Night Live: Even the Devil Offended by the Penn State Child Sex Abuse Scandal in SNL Skit

The Penn State child sex scandal, it’s pretty bad when even the Devil is taken aback and offended … Evil just ain’t what it used to be.

Saturday Night Live probably did one of their best skits in years and there was nothing political about it. It is a must see VIDEO because it brings light on a hideous scandal and shows the absurdity of how Penn State as an institution so badly handled it. The SNL skit targeted the Penn State child sex scandal in showing that even the Devil was offended by what had transpired in not so Happy Valley.

“SNL” cast member Jason Sudeikis reprised his role as Satan, appearing with red horns and pitchfork. The devil was informed by “Weekend Update” host Seth Meyers of sex charges against a former defensive coordinator and allegations that university officials failed to report the abuse.

Even he was disturbed by the news. Addressing Penn State students who protested football coach Joe Paterno’s firing, the devil spoke directly into the camera, asking, “Do you know how bad that made you look?”

As an upset and disturbed Satan stated when he found out the the scandal at Penn State was a child abuse sex scandal and not selling tickets for money, “I am the Price of Darkness, not a monster”. Doesn’t that pretty much say it all. This SNL is a classic, not because the content is humorous at it’s core, it is just the opposite, the child sex scandal cover up makes any one with a soul sick. Hell, even Satan was appalled and there lies the visceral disgust in this entire matter. As the Devil said, “this is Penn State football, not the Catholic church”. However, these days one has to wonder because they handed the matter of sexually abusing little boys in the same way. Sorry, but facts are the fact.  Through hyperbole SNL showed just how bad this scandal is and was at Penn State … When the Devil is offended, Houston Penn State,  YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!

UPDATE I: The NY Times has their own version of the Devil and Joe Paterno. The interesting point from this article is that Joe Pa might have believed more in the institution than individuals “inappropriate behavior”. And there lies the problem. Protecting the band, rather than protecting children.

They believed in their church. They believed in their mission. And out of the temptation that comes only to the virtuous, they somehow persuaded themselves that protecting their institution’s various good works mattered more than justice for the children they were supposed to shepherd and protect.

I suspect a similar instinct prompted the higher-ups at Penn State to basically ignore what they described as Jerry Sandusky’s “inappropriate conduct,” and persuaded Paterno that by punting the allegation to his superiors he had fulfilled his responsibility to the victimized child. He had so many important duties, after all, and so many people counting on him. And Sandusky had done so much good over the years …

Success with Honor Needs a Fresh Start … An Open Letter to Penn State University President Rodney Erickson in Wake of Child Sex Scandal

“Success with Honor” needs to be a reality at Penn State with the coaches and administrators, not just a catch phrase for the students to live by.

In the wake of the hideous child sex scandal, Penn State’s “Success with Honor” might be in need of a fresh clean slate. There is going to be a complete image change required at State College in Happy Valley, where the words of integrity, commitment and loyalty have to be reevaluated. Especially that loyalty one, that appears to be at the heart of the issue of the cover up of the alleged child sex crimes of former defensive PSU coach Jerry Sandusky.

It would appear that a new image is required at Penn State, read the following open letter to interim Penn State President Rodney Erickson. First, get a PR firm.

Once retained, have the agency facilitate meetings through their agents with Bill Parcells and Bill Cowher immediately.  Specify no leaks to the press until after they occur and by mutual agreement.   Cowher may be the low hanging fruit on this one,  he is returning to CBS next year.

If neither is interested in a head coach commitment of an 8-1 Big Ten team, follow their recommendations about who to contact next and ask them; beg if necessary, if they would be willing to consider a consulting gig for the recruitment process.  Urban Myer is a fine coach and leader, but regardless of who PSU ultimately chooses, efforts to rebuild the PSU brand must start with a nationally recognizable face of a trusted and respected winner, like yesterday.

Champions attract champions and without that, it is like asking collegiate coaching candidates to walk into the lion’s den (pun intended) wearing a raw steak necklace.  You will not even get one to tour Lasche, trust me on this.

This strategy would likely also include a public facing spokesperson effort, and worth every penny if that is all you can get a commitment for from either coach.

Pay them to sit in the lobby.  Pay them to ride the elevator a few times, but get them on grounds.  Pay them to have a motivational meeting with the team.
