IRS Hands Out $14 Billion For Green Energy, But Doesn’t Keep Track Of It

UNREAL … YOUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS HANDED OVER TO SO-CALLED GREEN ENERGY AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY.

 The Daily Caller is reporting that the IRS has handed out billions of dollars to support Barack Obama’s green energy projects. You know, those one’s like those unsuccessful and bankrupt companies like Solyndra. And it gets worse, if possible. The IRS is not tracking the money to see how it was being spent. ARE YOU KIDDING, WHEN WILL THIS ALL STOP!!! The IRS, the organization who makes people’s lives miserable for not properly tracking their income, does not have to do the same with tax payer dollars? Talk about the ultimate in hypocrisy. Honestly, the IRS really does need to be abolished and converted into an entity that just counts the tax revenue sent in by Americans from a flat or fair tax and no longer allowed to harass or divvy out monies at the bequest of a president.

A new government watchdog report found that the Internal Revenue service has handed out billions of dollars to support green energy projects, and then failed to mention how the money was spent on building new power generation.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports that IRS tax subsidies to green energy operators “accounted for an estimated $13.7 billion in forgone revenue to the federal government for renewable projects and $1.4 billion for traditional projects” between 2004 and 2013.

That’s a lot of money, but the IRS can’t (or won’t) tell government auditors how much green energy generating capacity their tax subsidies are supporting. The GAO says the IRS “is not required to collect project level data from all taxpayers” who claim an Investment Tax Credit (ITC) or Production Tax Credit (PTC).

“IRS officials stated that IRS is unlikely to collect additional data on these tax credits unless it is directed to do so,” the GAO reported. “Since 1994, GAO has encouraged greater scrutiny of tax expenditures, including data collection. Without project-level data on the ITC and PTC, Congress cannot evaluate their effectiveness as it considers whether to reauthorize or extend them.”

IMAGINE THAT, ALL ONE HAD TO DO TO FIND LOIS LERNER’S MISSING IRS EMAILS WAS TO ASK …

Former IRS official Lois Lerner’s irretrievable and lost emails have been found. During a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on Thursday, IRS Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) that it took OIG investigators just two weeks to recover 424 backup tapes that were previously said to be irretrievable. Camus said that “There is potential criminal activity.” GEE, YA THINK!!!

Of course we knew that Lerner’s emails existed all along, this has all been one big concerted coverup by the IRS because they know this scandal goes all the way to the Obama White House.

The IRS’s inspector general confirmed Thursday it is conducting a criminal investigation into how Lois G. Lerner’s emails disappeared, saying it took only two weeks for investigators to find hundreds of tapes the agency’s chief had told Congress were irretrievably destroyed.

Investigators have already scoured 744 backup tapes and gleaned 32,774 unique emails, but just two weeks ago they found an additional 424 tapes that could contain even more Lerner emails, Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told the House Oversight Committee in a rare late-night hearing meant to look into the status of the investigation.

“There is potential criminal activity,” Mr. Camus said.

WHO THINKS THAT ONE OF WE THE PEOPLE COULD EVER GET AWAY WITH THE FOLLOWING WITH THE IRS? People need to go to jail over this scandal and the IRS needs to be abolished so that this never happen again. The IRS cannot be used as a political weapon against “We the People” no matter what your political affiliation might be.

Chaffetz: “We send a subpoena, we send letters, we have hearings, we hear all kinds of excuses from the IRS.  They cant have them, they’re recycled, they’ve been destroyed, their not available.  We can’t fine them. Every excuse you can have under the sun. You find them in two weeks, and then when you go talk to the IT people who are there in charge of them, they told you that they were never even asked for them. Is that correct?

IRS-GATE CONTINUES … The Internal Revenue Service is now claiming that they have lost emails from five other IRS employees, related to Congressional probes into the IRS targeting conservative non-profit Tea Party groups,  including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status. Imagine that, what a coincidence? Right Wind News says, “at this point, even liberals have to admit that this stinks like a 5 day old fish.” I am not so sure, I believe they have lost their sense of smell and sense of loyalty to country, rather than party.  It is true that all,  including elected Democrat politicians, the MSM and Democrat voters can see the IRS corruption, lying and cover-up , but are completely unwilling to hold the IRS accountable. Of course it would be a different story if they were the one’s being targeted, see Richard Nixon.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa stated, “The IRS’s ever-changing story is practically impossible to follow at this point, as they modify it each time to accommodate new facts. This pattern must stop.” Attention Darrell Issa, House Republicans, et all, the only way the IRS’s pattern is going to stop is to defund the agency and abolish it. Enough is enough, never did our Founding Fathers ever foresee the creation of any central government agency with such unchecked powers to target political enemies.

The IRS said Friday that it has lost emails from five other employees involved in congressional probes into the agency’s targeting of conservative groups, leading one top Republican to declare “this pattern must stop.”

The announcement comes after the agency said in June that it could not locate an untold number of emails to and from Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS division that processes applications for tax-exempt status. The revelation set off a new round of investigations and congressional hearings.

On Friday, the IRS issued a report to Congress saying the agency also lost emails from five other employees related to the probe, including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, whose committee has been investigating the scandal, said the disclosure is yet another example of the Obama administration changing its story on the scandal.

“The IRS’s ever-changing story is practically impossible to follow at this point, as they modify it each time to accommodate new facts,” Issa, R-Calif., said. “This pattern must stop.”

Rasmussen: 71% of Voters Believe the IRS Deliberately Destroyed E-mails to Hide Guilt of Criminal Activity

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, a remarkably 71% of voters believe that the IRS deliberately and willfully destroyed emails related to IRS-gate and the targeting of Tea Party and other conservative groups to hide evidence of criminal activity. Only 22% believe the IRS did not break the law, while 4% were undecided. It is fair to say that this polling is a resounding condemnation against the IRS that crosses all political parties. How bad is it when a government agency like the IRS is believed to play partisan politics and cannot be trusted?

Think about this, more than 7 in 10 individuals surveyed believe that the IRS committed a criminal activity in destruction of property and obstruction of justice to hide the guilt of their even greater criminal activity as a Democrat party ignores it and Barack Obama calls it a phoney scandal. This should be chilling for all Americans.

Most voters think it’s likely the IRS deliberately destroyed e-mails about its investigations of Tea Party and other conservative groups to hide its criminal behavior. Two-out-of-three now believe IRS employees involved in these investigations should be jailed or fired, and most suspect the agency of targeting other political opponents of the Obama administration.

As we are reminded by Real Clear Politics, a recent Fox News poll found similar results, 76% of voters surveyed believed that ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s emails were deliberately destroyed.  The distrust in the IRS was spread across all parties, including 90% of Republicans, 74% of Independents and 63% of Democrats. Only 12% of respondents believe the emails were accidently destroyed.

It gets better, these are the folks in charge of enforcing Obamacare. How’s that “Hopey-Changey” stuff working out for ya America?

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX 36) Bill: “The Dog Ate My Tax Receipts Act” Allows Taxpayers to Use Same Lame Excuses as IRS

WHY SHOULDN’T THE AMERICAN TAX PAYERS BE ALLOWED TO USE THE SAME EXCUSES AS THE IRS?

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX 36) is introducing a bill to Congress that would allow “We the People” to be on the same footing as the IRS. After all, it is supposed to be a government of, by and for the people. The bill titled, “The Dog Ate My Tax Receipts Act” would allow taxpayers who do not produce documents for the Internal Revenue Service to be able to offer a variety of dubious excuses similar to the same ones that the IRS offered to House investigators in the IRS scandal where the IRS purposely targeted conservative non-profit groups.

Feel free to come up with your own, maybe they can be submitted as amendments.

“The United States was founded on the belief government is subservient and accountable to the people.  Taxpayers shouldn’t be expected to follow laws the Obama administration refuses to follow themselves,” said Stockman.  “Taxpayers should be allowed to offer the same flimsy, obviously made-up excuses the Obama administration uses.”

Under Stockman’s bill, “The Dog Ate My Tax Receipts Act,” taxpayers who do not provide documents requested by the IRS can claim one of the following reasons:

1.         The dog ate my tax receipts
2.         Convenient, unexplained, miscellaneous computer malfunction
3.         Traded documents for five terrorists
4.         Burned for warmth while lost in the Yukon
5.         Left on table in Hillary’s Book Room
6.         Received water damage in the trunk of Ted Kennedy’s car
7.         Forgot in gun case sold to Mexican drug lords
8.         Forced to recycle by municipal Green Czar
9.         Was short on toilet paper while camping
10.       At this point, what difference does it make?
