DOJ Settles Lawsuits over Tea Party Targeting by Obama IRS … Admission that Conservatives Were Unfairly Ttargeted by the IRS under the Obama Administration
OH YEAH … BECAUSE OBAMA NEVER WEAPONIZED THE IRS AGAINST CONSERVATIVES …
After years of litigation, The Trump administration has settled lawsuits with some Tea Party and other conservative groups who say they were unfairly targeted by the IRS under the Obama administration. For those that denied that the Obama White House had weaponized the IRS against those that he considered enemies has now been shown to be the truth. What didn’t Obama weaponize and use for his political purposes while president?
This is only some justice. Sadly, the Obama administration with a complicit media was allowed to trample on individuals First Amendment rights, which in turn allowed Obama to be reelected. Personally, an apology is not accepted. There needs to be a lot more than this so that no rogue, ideologue president ever uses the power of the federal government against We the People. The damage that was done by Obama was sick and heinous. Certain individuals should have gone to jail. Wake the hell up America … and for the LEFT, maybe the next time it will be against you. Maybe that’s when you will finally find fault in such actions.
The Trump administration, after years of litigation, has settled lawsuits with Tea Party and other conservative groups who say they were unfairly targeted by the IRS under the Obama administration.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced early Thursday that the Justice Department had entered into settlements with Tea Party groups whose tax-exempt status was significantly delayed by the IRS dating back to 2013, “based solely on their viewpoint or ideology.”
The settlements involve payments to the plaintiffs and an apology from the IRS.
The targeting scandal drew heavy attention in 2013 when the IRS admitted it applied extra scrutiny to conservative groups applying for nonprofit status. Lois Lerner, then head of the Exempt Organizations unit responsible, became the public face of the scandal, though other IRS officials were involved as well.
Sessions said that groups with names involving “Tea Party” or “Patriots,” or those with specific policy positions concerning government spending, were subject to “inappropriate criteria” to “screen” applications.
“The IRS’s use of these criteria as a basis for heightened scrutiny was wrong and should never have occurred,” Sessions said in a statement Thursday. “It is improper for the IRS to single out groups for different treatment based on their names or ideological positions.”
While the IRS did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment, court documents show that the agency did offer an apology.
“The IRS admits that its treatment of Plaintiffs during the tax-exempt determination process, including screening their applications based on their names or policy positions, subjecting those applications to heightened scrutiny and inordinate delays, and demanding some Plaintiffs’ information that TIGTA determined was unnecessary to the agency’s determination of their tax-exempt status, was wrong,” the IRS said in court documents. “For such treatment, the IRS expresses its sincere apology.”
The Justice Department’s settlement would pay the claims of each of the over 400 groups in the case. The attorneys for the groups said it was “a great day for the First Amendment,” but noted that day “was too long in coming.”
Roy Moore Defeats Establishment/Incumbent Sen. Luther Strange in Alabama Special Senate Primary
SWEET HOME ALABAMA … ROY MOORE WINS!!!
Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore has won the Alabama Republican primary for U.S. Senate, defeating an appointed incumbent backed by President Donald Trump and hand picked ally of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. WAY TO GO ALABAMA. Moore not only defeated Strange, he crushed him 55% to 45%. In the end, the people of Alabama spoke and it was the people of Alabama who knew that Roy Moore was the better candidate to run for US Senate, more so that even President Donald Trump.
Republican challenger Roy Moore defeated Sen. Luther Strange in Alabama’s Senate primary Tuesday night, riding a wave of rural support over the incumbent backed by President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Moore, a former state Supreme Court justice, had 55 percent of the vote to Strange’s 45 percent with 95 percent of precincts reporting. Strange, who was appointed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ old seat earlier this year, is the first senator to lose a primary since Indiana Republican Richard Lugar was defeated in 2012.
Moore’s victory comes despite the efforts of top Republicans in Washington, who threw their weight behind Strange. Trump endorsed Strange in August and appeared with him in Alabama last week, while a super PAC aligned with McConnell spent millions of dollars on pro-Strange advertising.
But Strange never led a single public poll against Moore since finishing behind Moore in the August primary and qualifying for the runoff. Moore had been elected statewide twice and built up a committed conservative following during stints on the state Supreme Court, where he defied federal orders on same-sex marriage and the display of a statue of the Ten Commandments and racked up a history of controversial comments on race and religion.
Sweet Home Alabama
This should be a wake up call to both President Donald Trump and especially Sen. Mitch McConnell. This election is not a referendum on President Trump as he is still admired and adored in Alabama with high approval ratings. However, this is a bitter defeat and referendum on McConnell. The GOP has been a failure and should take this as a sign to either resign his position or leave the U.S. Senate altogether.
Get ready for the wave America. Fueled by the LEFT’s continual denial of the 2016 presidential election, the disrespectful National Anthem situation and the Republican establishment’s failures, the Democrats are not going to take anything back in 2018, the country is not moving left, looks for establishment GOP, gutless SOB’s to be primary challenged and lose and for them to resign from office before they are embarrassed.
A note to President Donald Trump … you took part in a wave election in 2016, make sure you are not on the wrong side again for the 2018 wave election. You stated you were going to drain the swamp, DO IT!
To the great state of Alabama, THANK YOU!!! You just sent a political shot across the bow of the GOP establishment politicians. Look for many of these cowards to see the writing on the wall and finally leave Washington, DC. If they don’t voluntarily, we will vote them out once and for all.

As the Voters Go to the Polls in Alabama for Special GOP Primary Election … Roy Moore Ahead in Trafalgar Group Survey
WE SHALL SEE IF THE POLLS ARE CORRECT THIS TIME … ELECT ROY MOORE!!!
As Alabama goes to vote today in the 2017 special U.S. Senate Republican Primary runoff, a new TFG survey shows that Roy Moore is comfortably ahead of incumbent Luther Strange, 56.74% to 40.69%. Although President Donald Trump is widely popular in Alabama, the folks there just think he’s wrong on this as they see Moore as their guy. Trump and Pence have both campaigned for Luther Strange. But in the end, the election is the only poll that matters as we learned in the 2016 Presidential election.
Check back later today for the results.
Moore – Strange
A new Alabama survey of likely 2017 primary voters for the U.S. Senate Republican Primary Runoff was released today. The Trafalgar Group (TFG), recognized for having the most accurate polling in the 2016 battleground states and Electoral College projection, conducted the poll from September 23rd through September 24th.
TFG conducted this survey of 1073 respondents from a random stratified selection of likely 2017 primary voters. The margin of error is +/- 2.98.
56.74% Roy Moore
40.69% Luther Strange
2.57% UndecidedRobert Cahaly, Senior Strategist and Chief Pollster at Trafalgar Group said, “Our attempt here was to measure the closing weekend impact of the Trump visit on the race as well as the effect on Trump’s approval. Though the president’s visit doesn’t seem to have swayed the race in favor of Strange, it does appear to have reinforced his personal support among Alabama Republicans which now stands at almost 80% favorability.

Donald Trump Makes it Official: Trump Will Hold Rally in Downtown Phoenix, AZ … Maybe He Will Pardon Sheriff Joe and Endorse Primary Challenge Against Sen. Flake
PRESIDENT TRUMP WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE AND HOLD RALLY IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA …
President Donald Trump has made it official, he will hold a rally in downtown Phoenix, AZ next Tuesday. President Trump’s tweet read, “Join me at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 22nd in Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Convention Center!” The Democrat Mayor of Phoenix asked Trump to postpone the event, The Donald took it under advisement and said, I don’t think so. President Trump will go around the bias, liberal media and talk directly to the America people. Look for President Trump to endorse a GOP primary challenger against Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) who has been nothing but a disappointment. Trump tweeted regarding Flake, “Great to see that Dr. Kelli Ward is running against Flake Jeff Flake, who is WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate. He’s toxic!” Also, it would be great is President Trump used this as the backdrop to pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign-style rally in downtown Phoenix on Tuesday, making his first presidential trip to the West as his administration confronts an uproar over his tepid response to a deadly white supremacy rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Trump will take the stage at the Phoenix Convention Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m., according to an announcement Wednesday morning. Attendees must register to obtain tickets.
Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton wrote in a statement Wednesday he was disappointed to learn of Trump’s visit so close to the violent events in Charlottesville. The mayor called on Trump to delay the visit. [...]
And Flake, who is running for re-election in 2018, this month published a book critical of “Trumpism,” calling for a “rejection of destructive politics and a return to principle.” Trump has threatened to help finance a Republican challenger to Flake — saying he’d provide $10 million — but it’s unclear if he will follow through.
The visit also comes as Trump has discussed a presidential pardon for another controversial Arizona Republican, former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, 85, who has been convicted of criminal contempt after a judge found he had defied a court order intended to stamp out his signature immigration patrols.

Despite Trump & McConnell’s Support, Alabama Senator Luther Strange Struggles to a Primary Finish against Real Conservative Republicans
THE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN IS THAT MCCONNELL ESTABLISHMENT TOADIE SEN. LUTHER STRANGE LOSES THE PRIMARY!!!
To the good people of Alabama, DRAIN THE SWAMP!!! On Tuesday you have an opportunity to make your voices heard and push back against the establishment, RINO’s in Washington, DC. GOP Senate Majority leaders Mitch McConnell’s choice, Sen. Luther Strange, is limping his way across the finish line. Do not let this hand-picked McConnell toadie win and replace the seat of Sen. Jeff Sessions with the likes of this.. A vote for Strange is a vote for McConnell. The Republican electorate needs to Ditch Mitch, not make him more powerful. Alabama, vote for the conservatives, not the RINO establishment candidate who is nothing more than a McConnell suck up. Alabama is a deep red state with conservative values, vote like it and send a message to the GOP establishment everywhere that we are sick of their games, lies and lack of representation. The fact of the matter is that Democrats will never win the senate seat in Alabama. If the GOP grassroots elects in the primary a true conservative, they will be elected in the general election.
This is your big chance to let your voice be heard, don’t wast the opportunity!
Senator Luther Strange of Alabama wields an endorsement from the president of the United States, is the beneficiary of a multimillion-dollar campaign from allies of Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, and has the backing of influential conservative interest groups like the National Rifle Association.
But Mr. Strange is wheezing into Tuesday’s Republican Senate primary here. He is grasping to secure a second-place finish and a slot in a September runoff with Roy S. Moore, the twice-deposed former State Supreme Court justice and evangelical-voter favorite who is expected to be the top vote-getter but may fall short of the majority needed to win outright.
Mr. Strange is in a political vise, pinched by his links to a pair of Republicans, one local and one national, held in low esteem by many in the party here: the disgraced former Gov. Robert Bentley, who appointed Mr. Strange, and Mr. McConnell.
Personally, I am disgusted that President Trump would back this McConnell stooge. The fact that Trump endorsed with McConnell stooge greatly surprises and annoys me. After the war of words between Trump and McConnell over the Senate majority leader sating that Trump had “excessive expectations,” it is troublesome that Trump would continue to back the very gutless Republican politician that make up the swamp. This is a political warning shot President Trump, if you do not do what you promises and drain the swamp and continue to back McConnell senate toadies, you will lose my vote.
Yet the ad campaign by the McConnell-aligned Senate Leadership Fund — while doing significant damage to a third Republican candidate in the race, Representative Mo Brooks, a hard-line conservative — has also highlighted Mr. Strange’s ties to the congressional Republican leadership. And it has come at a moment when conservatives are furious at lawmakers for not repealing the Affordable Care Act and Mr. Trump is placing much of the blame at the feet of Mr. McConnell.
Naturally, Mr. Strange’s rivals have seized on his ties to Mr. McConnell. At a candidate forum in nearby Trussville this month, one of Mr. Brooks’s top applause lines was a call for Mr. McConnell to be removed as the party’s Senate leader.
In an interview near his campaign bus, a “Ditch Mitch” banner fastened to the front, Mr. Brooks even found a way to invoke Mr. McConnell when pressed about Mr. Trump’s decision to endorse Mr. Strange.
A NOTE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP, YOU BETTER DAMN WILL FIGURE OUT WHO YOUR BASE IS AND WHO SUPPORTS YOU AND IT AIN’T MCCONNELL GOP SELLOUTS!
