Don’t Look Now, the NRA is more Popular than President Barack Obama … NRA 54% – Obama 53%

THE NRA IS MORE POPULAR THAN PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA …

How about this, after all the negative publicity brought on by the liberal MSM and Barack Obama calling for a war on the NRA, a funny thing happened on the way to the popularity polls. According to the latest Gallup poll, the NRA actually has a higher popularity rating that does President Barack Obama, 54% to 53%. The survey was taken after the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary school shootings that saw 26 individuals murdered, including 20 children, at the hands of a mad man. As pointed out by Newsbusters, the article by Frank Newport, the Gallup poll, which was conducted Dec. 19-22, showed that only 38% of those surveyed have an unfavorable opinion of the NRA, while Obama’s disapproval rating is three points higher at 41%.

Fifty-four percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the National Rifle Association, while 38% have an unfavorable opinion. The public’s ratings of the NRA have fluctuated since first measured by Gallup in 1993 — from a low of 42% favorable in 1995 to a high of 60% in 2005.

The NRA’s positions on guns and gun control legislation have received significant attention from media and politicians during the last week after the association’s top lobbyist, Wayne LaPierre, held a press conference in the wake of the Newtown school shooting. LaPierre denounced the idea of additional gun control legislation and instead called for armed guards in the nation’s schools. The press conference came midway through the field period of this Dec. 19-22 USA Today/Gallup poll.

Gallup: NRA Has 54% Favorable Image in United States, Only 38% Unfavorable

Before Barack Obama and the rest of the anti-Second Amendment right, anti-gun Democrats over-reach and attempt to exploit the horrendous actions of a crazed, lone, insaneoid gunman Adam Lanza who murdered his mother and then went on a shooting rampage at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT killing 26, including 20 children … they may want to take a look at how Americans feel about those who Democrats and the MSM want to demonize. According to a recent Gallup Poll, 54% of Americans have a favorable image of the NRA, while only 38% have an unfavorable one. This even after the liberal MSM has tried to smear the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre for his press conference comments and ’Meet the Press’ interview asking to protect children by arming individuals in the schools.

Other polls have shown that Americans place gun control only fourth on the list for protecting children, following police presence in schools, greater focus on mental health screening and decreasing gun violence in movies, TV and video games.

Gallup: Americans Say Police Presence, Mental Health Screenings More Effect Than Banning Guns At Preventing School Shootings Like Sandy Hook

According to a recent Gallup poll following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, a majority of Americans believe that a police presence, more attention to mental health screening and  decreasing gun violence on TV and video games are all more effective than banning guns to prevent mass school shootings like what took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.

However, Barack Obama and Democrats never waste the opportunity to exploit a bad situation. Obama has announced that VP Biden will head a commission to look into an “all of the above” search into things that can be done to prevent future shootings. Whether that can be done or not his debatable, but many are concerned that Obama’s “all of the above” approach will look similar to his energy policy and only deal with gun control.

Americans are most likely to say that an increased police presence at schools, increased government spending on mental health screening and treatment, and decreased depiction of gun violence in entertainment venues would be effective in preventing mass shootings at schools.

Americans rate the potential effectiveness of a ban on assault and semi-automatic guns as fourth on a list of six actions Gallup asked about. Americans rated the effectiveness of three potential actions higher than the semi-automatic weapon ban. But it is clear that Americans are not overwhelmingly convinced that any of the actions would be highly effective in preventing future school shootings. Slightly more than half (53%) of Americans say that increased police presence would be very effective. This action is at the top of the effectiveness list. The only other action that a majority of Americans view as very effective is government spending on mental health screening and treatment — 50% say this would be very effective.

Banning guns is fourth on the list of Americans for preventing violence, yet it is obviously number one in the partisan liberal agenda of Barack Obama, Democrats and liberals.  The Gallup partisan breakdown on banning guns is as follows: 26% GOP, 36% Independent, 61% Democrat. One of the three is just a tab bit outside of the bell curve.

That Was Fast … Barack Obama Buyers Remorse … Gallup Job Approval Rating Drops to 49%

The ink is barely dry on the ballots cast in the 2012 Presidential election and it appears that Americans are having buyers remorse with Barack Obama. The most recent Gallup poll has Obama’s job approval rating back underwater at 49%. If America has an issue with Obama now, wait until they find out all of his campaign rhetoric was mere lies and then there is Benghazi-gate.

Romney Takes Lead in Final Rasmussen Poll …Also Leads in Final Gallup Poll As Well

In the final Rasmussen poll before the 2012 Presidential election, Mitt Romney has taken the lead over Barack Obama 49% to 48%.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 48%. Two percent (1%) prefer some other candidate, and one percent (1%) remains undecided.

Rasmussen Reports will conduct our final tracking poll tonight and release the results early Tuesday morning. Later today, we will issue our final swing state polls including Ohio, Virginia and New Hampshire.

Mitt Romney also leads Obama in the daily Gallup poll, 49% to 48%. . What we are witnessing in the polls is that an incumbent president cannot poll over 50%. If as Gallup is reporting that early voting is breaking for Obama by only 49% to 48%, Obama is in for a long election night. Barack Obama would have needed to have early voting break by a much greater number than 1%.

The polling is over and it’s time to vote. Let’s vote for America, not revenge.
