Rasmussen Poll Shows Many Americans Have No Concept of Free Speech … 55% Favor Government Oversight of Political Ads & Candidates’ Comments
ARE YOU INSANE … DID ANYONE TAKING THIS POLL UNDERSTAND WHAT FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS? DO YOU WANT TYRANNY?
FIRST AMENDMENT OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS OF THE US CONSTITUTION
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
An alarming 55% if likely voters in a recent Rasmussen poll stated, “they believe the government should be allowed to review political ads and candidates’ campaign comments for their accuracy.” It gets better, they also wanted to punish those that it decides are making false statements about other candidates. OK FOLKS … HAVE YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR MINDS!!! You do realize that “Freedom of Speech” is intended to prevent a tyrannical government from trampling the speech, opinions and comments of ab individuals right? I could care less what party was in power, I would never want a government to control campaign speech. It is up to the voter to inform yourself as to whether some one is fabricating the truth. If that is too difficult, don’t vote.
So 55% of clueless voters would want whatever political party was in power to review and determine whether a political ad was truthful or not? Who could see anything going wrong with that because of course political parties are not partisan of course. The American Spectator has an idea, just create more government bureaucracy and a new agency, call it the Ministry of Political Truth, to oversee this brave new government power. Oh wait, you don’t want the government agency to do it, how about the media?
The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments this week in a case aimed at overturning an Ohio law that makes it a crime to make false statements in a political campaign. But most voters favor government policing of the truthfulness of campaign ads and statements.
Fifty-five percent (55%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe the government should be allowed to review political ads and candidates’ campaign comments for their accuracy and punish those that it decides are making false statements about other candidates. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 31% oppose such government oversight. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Presently we have a president in Barack Obama who thumbs his nose at the US Constitution, you would actually give him the power to control political speech for campaign speech, REALLY? WAKE UP AMERICA, many brave souls fought and died to bring freedoms and independence to the colonies and form a United States. Act like it!

Democrats Running Ads Criticizing Obamacare … Joe Garcia Running in Florida’s 26th District Hardly Praising O-Care
From NRO, Democrats are forced to run political ads that criticize Obamacare.
Nancy Pelosi said that Democrats would proudly run on Obamacare, not away from it in the 2014 midterm elections. Um, the Democrat political ad below is hardly a ringing endorsement of President Obama’s signature piece of legislation. Democrats feel the need to have to discuss Obamacare and continually bring up the fact that it is a disaster. This is hardly the word choice and lasting impression that you want to leave with voters. An already angry electorate who has lost their insurance because of Obamacare, lost their doctors and had their premiums increased. If this is how Dems are going to have to contort themselves in 2014, they are in some serious trouble.
Now, it is true that Garcia doesn’t call for repeal. Indeed, the ad boasts that the candidate is “working to fix” the law, and it praises him both for holding “insurance companies accountable” and for defending the provision that prevents insurance companies from denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. But it is fascinating to watch a Political Action Committee associated with Nancy “we’re going to run on Obamacare” Pelosi slamming the White House for “the disastrous healthcare website” and boasting — without any time qualification, it should be said — that its man “voted to let you keep your existing health plan.”
But, in Florida’s 26th district — as in much of the country one presumes — the choice in 2014 is going to be between a candidate who is criticizing Obamacare and a candidate who wants to get rid of it completely. Democrats are being forced to have a conversation they’d rather not have. Bottom line: The issue isn’t dead — far from it.

GOP Senatorial Candidate Gabriel Gomez Calls Democrat Opponent Rep. Ed Markey “Pond Scum” After Being Compared to Osama Bin Laden
Massachusetts US Senate Race: With all due respect to pond scum …
Massachusetts Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez called opponent Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) “pond scum” during a recent interview. Gomez did so in a response to a question regarding a dirty and disgusting ad where his opponent Ed Markey compared Gomez, a former Navy SEAL, to Osama bin Laden in an internet video that placed their images side-by-side. As Gomez stated during his interview, maybe Markey does doe realize that it was Navy Seals who actually killed Bin Laden? The internet video is truly reprehensible. For Markey to put out his first video comparing Gomez to Bin Laden, because Gomez was critical of President Obama because they released so much classified information on the Navy Seals regarding the raid that killed Bin Laden that puts the troops in harms way.
“I don’t think there’s anything more offensive,” Gomez said. “You know I’ve got four young kids,
and they gotta sit there and gotta see an ad with their dad — who served honorably,
talk to anybody I served with — whether as a pilot or as a SEAL, anybody I worked with.
And for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, like to put me up next to bin Laden,
he’s just gotta be called what he is. It’s that simple.”
Gomez went on to say, Congressman Markey has been around for 40 years, he know what he is doing. Hmm, I thought we honored Navy Seals who defend America’s freedoms and liberties. Guess not when it comes to Massachusetts liberal Ed Markey. Is this what we need in the US Senate? Funny how Barack Obama used the death of Bin Laden and the heroic efforts of our US Navy Seals for his political advantage and his photo-op of Obama in the “Situation Room” yet Obama was no where to be found when the Benghazi Consulate was being attacked by terrorists, Ambassador Stevens was missing and they were begging for help.
Mitt Romney Will Regret this for the Rest of his Life … The RNC Benghazi Ad that Never Ran “Benghazi 3 AM Phone Call” (VIDEO)
ABC News has reveled the RNC Benghazi ad that never ran during the 2012 Presidential election. According to accounts, RNC leadership approved the ad but it was spiked at the last minute because of objections from the Romney campaign. Brilliant move. They thought that it would distract from their message on the economy. HUH? What, the Romney campaign could not walk and chew gum at the same time? As stated at the American Spectator, so what if it distracted from the economic message, “Are you trying to win an election or not?” Of course hindsight is 20/20, but how can a candidate seeking election not go after a sitting president for such a debacle? Being president means handling domestic and foreign policy, not just the economy. When a president gets economic policy wrong, people lose their jobs, money and their homes. When a president gets foreign policy wrong, people lose their lives.

It was the Benghazi attack ad the Republican National Committee created but never aired.
ABC News has obtained an ad the RNC made last fall and approved to air in the final weeks of the presidential campaign. The ad begins with a replay of Hillary Clinton’s famous “3 a.m. phone call” commercial from the 2008 campaign and then cuts to video of the burning U.S. consulate in Benghazi Libya.
Over the images of the attack–in which four Americans were killed–words appear on the screen:
“The Call Came … On September 12, 2012.” As the screen goes black, the words continue: “Security Requests Denied. Four Americans Dead. And an Administration whose story is still changing. The Call Came.”
Hot Air wonders whether this VIDEO will harm Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden in 2016?
How bad of a call was this by the Romney Team? The ad could be run today and still have meaning. That is how much of a screw up this was. What were these people thinking?
