Joe Tacopina’s Response to Holloway/Twitty Suit: The Empire Strikes Back
Today Joe Tacopina, attorney for Joran and Paul Van der Sloot, filed his response to the Twitty/Holloway civil law suit against his clients.
Atty Joe Tacopina Court Document Filings
Last night Defense Attorney Joe Tacopina went on the attack last night promising counter lawsuits against Natalee Holloway’s parents and all those who are calling his client “a murderer and a sexual predator without a stitch of evidence.”

So much for individual’s rights to have an opinion and to voice them. I guess Joe Tacopina is going to silence Gerold Dompig who stated the “boys are guilty as hell”. I guess he will also sue Karen Janssen and Steve Cohen who has also made comments that the boys are guilty.
Isn’t that why there should be a trial? To determine whether they are guilty or not guilty? That is the point of the civil law suit filed by Natalee Holloway’s parents. To determine whether Joran is responsible for that what is stated in the original suit. Let’s see of this plays out.

Joran Van der Sloot Goes “On The Record” Part 1. aka Keep Talking Joran
Last night Joran Van Der Sloot spoke with Greta Van Susteren to discuss the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Greta did a deposition type-style interview with Joran and got him on record in saying many things.
The transcripts from “On The Record”.
Video also available of Part 1 of the interview.
A couple of interesting things in watching the Joran Van der Sloot interview is the heat rash blotches that begin and Joran’s ears.
The following are just some of the many quotes from Joran Van der Sloot. Go to Greta’s web site, view and read the interview again. There are some more inconsistencies and hard to believe comments.
VAN DER SLOOT: No. I have an apartment in my house, so it’s, like, away, kind of away from the house. And I called him, and he just came into my room with his brother. I didn’t know at that point his brother was coming with him. But he came at that point in my room with his brother, and I was just printing out some work for school for the next day that I had to hand in. And I just finished that up. So I came into my room, and then they were there.
VAN SUSTEREN: When you arrived at Carlos ‘n Charlie’s, any idea about what time it is?
VAN DER SLOOT: It was probably, you know, 12:15, I think, 12:30 maybe.
VAN SUSTEREN: How late does it stay open?
VAN DER SLOOT: That night it was open until 1:00 AM.
VAN SUSTEREN: Is there a way to describe her, I mean, and whether she seemed or appeared to be, you know, drinking? Did she seem to be drunk?
VAN DER SLOOT: Oh… she’d been drinking, but she wasn’t drunk. I mean, she knew what she was doing. And you know, all the people there were drinking, as well. I mean, that’s just — that’s normal when you go out and have a drink with your friends.

Natalee Holloway’s Parents Sue Van der Sloots
The surprise law suit by the parents of Natalee Holloway has in many respects altered the dynamics of the Natalee Holloway investigation. For the first time in a long time the Van der Sloots have been put on the defensive. What was supposed to be a media event by the Van der Sloots on ABC TV ironically enough became one that they were center stage in that they did not plan on. Joran Van der Sloot and his parents were served yesterday in New York City.
In documents filed with the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch national, is accused of “malicious, wanton and willful disregard of the rights, safety and well-being of the plaintiffs and their daughter, Natalee Holloway.”
As per CNN, the 16 page law suit makes its case with a mixture of fact and supposition, using a dramatic opening paragraph:
“This is a case about a high-school graduation trip to a tropical paradise that turned to tragedy. The trip was an opportunity for a group of young people to celebrate the end of one phase of their lives and the beginning of another. But for one young woman on that ill-fated trip, paradise it was not. For that young woman, Natalee Holloway, the trip was a brutal contrast to a life full of promise and hope.”
The Van der Sloots were in NYC to do a TV interview with ABC. They had been tracked by a PI team and served simultaneously after they had arrived in New York.
A private detective hired by Holloway’s parents was monitoring their movement and arranged that they be served with the court documents on arrival in the US.
A rather bizarre set of circumstances as they Van der Sloots received much publicity in the media due to this lawsuit. Attention, I am sure they did not intend. It has been reported that the attorney of Joran Van der Sloot, Antonio Carlo, was not thrilled about this trip to New York City. I guess we can now see why.
Joran is represented by lawyer Antonio Carlo, who is also Paulus van der Sloot’s boss on Aruba. Carlo indicated he was not happy about Joran’s trip to America for the ABC interview. “I’m on Aruba, you can draw your own conclusions,” he said. (Expatica)
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court, seeks unspecified money damages against Joran van der Sloot and his father. There were 3 counts against Joran Van der Sloot and one against his parents, Paul and Anita.
(MSNBC)
(AP) Referring to van der Sloot as “the predator,” the lawsuit says that on at least three occasions young Aruban women have complained they were the victims of “date rape” by him and his accomplices.
(AP) The lawsuit says the father, Paulus van der Sloot, was an enabler of his son’s “violent and anti-social lifestyle.” Court papers say that on the night of May 29, 2005, he went with his underage son to a casino to play poker. It was at that casino that the younger van der Sloot met Holloway, the lawsuit says.
According to the court documents they present a partly speculative version of what occurred the night that was the last that Natalee Holloway was ever seen.
“The next hours of Natalee’s young life were marked by torment, terror and debasement,” court papers say, describing an imagined sexual assault. “Natalee has not been seen or heard from since entering Deepak’s car with Joran.”

Scarborough Country, Beth Twitty: “It does concern me that Paulus van der Sloot has tied up many loose ends”.
‘Scarborough Country’ for February 7, 2006 (Guest: Beth Twitty)
Beth Twitty’s reaction to the Van der Sloots GMA interview. It can be summed up best by Beth Twitty’s comment.
Joe, I have not done the damage to Joran. All I have done is share information that Joran has given voluntarily to witnesses, and officials, police officials, interrogators. You know, Joran caused the damage to himself.

GMA Part II: Revenge of the Sloots
This morning GMA brought us the second part of the two part interview with the parents of Joran Van der Sloot, otherwise known as “must not see TV”. The Van der Sloot whine fest aside, one really must wonder what Arubans and Aruban officials are thinking this morning.
For the better part of two weeks there has been an all quiet on the Aruba Front. One could only speculate that Aruba and their spokespeople after Steve Cohen’s comments and retractions of the Dr. Phil Show just wanted to keep a low profile. Aruba just wanting this to go away and their lives to get back to normal by avoiding the topic.
NOT SO FAST. Aruba, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water … Guess what … It’s back.
No, you do not have Beth Twitty to blame for this or Dave Holloway or Greta Van Susteren or Scared Monkeys.
YOU HAVE PAULUS AND ANITA VAN DER SLOOT TO BLAME.
Why Aruba, Arubans and Aruban officials continue to sacrifice themselves for this family is a mystery. It was plain to see in the GMA interviews or infomercials that they only care about keeping this story and themselves in the spot light. Why would they continue to do this? What is their motive for stoking the fires of the MSM? For people who want to get on with their lives they certainly have an odd way of doing it. Maybe its because they have an agenda? That agenda seems to be in direct contrast with that of Arubans and the Aruban government. Do the good people of Aruba really think a boycott will end when the Van der Sloot’s continue to insult American’s intelligence and pour salt in the wounds of a family with a missing daughter?
Aruba, take a good look at what you are defending. Answer the question why the parents of Joran Van der Sloot would speak out now. Why are they keeping the story going? Why are they calling out the MSM when everyone knows that the MSM will respond. It is not about you Aruba, it most certainly is about them.
