United States Drops to No. 7 in 2012 Global Competitiveness Index Report, US Dropped for 4th Year in a Row

Yeah, here is yet another reason why President Barack Obama needs to be a one term president. The United States has now dropped to #7 in the 2012 Global Competitiveness Index report. Thanks President Obama. The US has dropped for the fourth year in a row because of exploding debt and deficits. Another four years of Obama and his $16 trillion debt and climbing should take the US out of the top 10 or even lower.

The U.S. dropped to No. 7 on the World Economic Forum’s newly released 2012 Global Competitiveness Index report. Switzerland retained its top position as the most competitive nation, followed by Singapore, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany.

Asian countries continue to be among the most competitive—and many are gaining strength. Among the top 20, five are from Asia. Compared to last year’s ranking, Singapore retains its No. 2 spot, Hong Kong gained two positions, Taiwan remains No. 13, Korea advanced five spots and Japan

However, leaders in Washington have a bit of work to do to help America regain the top ranking . The report argues that the country’s drawbacks have “deepened since past assessments,” says the report. It points to a business community critical toward public and private institutions, a lack of trust in politicians, and a concern “about the government’s ability to maintain arms-length relationships with the private sector.”

What a novel concept that the economies decline occurs when business is demonized by the government. As reported at The New American, the American economy’s sharp decline in recent years is due to, among other problems, a lack of trust in government and politicians, especially by businesses.

According to the WEF survey, the American economy’s sharp decline in recent years is due to, among other problems, a lack of trust in government and politicians — especially by businesses — as well as declining macroeconomic and political stability. More important to the latest drop in the rankings this year, however: increasing fears over the U.S. economy’s fiscal health as the federal government continues to borrow more than a trillion dollars per year with no end in sight

But that is not all. The wild federal deficit spending projected to reach $1.1 trillion this year and the incredible failure to urgently address it contributed too, as evidenced by rating agencies’ decisions to slash their credit outlook on U.S. government debt last year. There is also the looming “fiscal cliff” economists keep warning about as massive tax hikes — so-called “Taxmageddon” — approaches quickly.

“A number of weaknesses are chipping away at its competitiveness … the U.S. fiscal imbalances and continued political deadlock over resolving these challenges,” another WEF economist, Jennifer Blanke, told CNBC. “If you look at competitiveness, what we are talking about is productivity. It’s countries that are productive that can support the sorts of rising living standards and high wages that everyone is looking for.”

PPP, Another Democrat Leaning Poll Weighted +4 Democrats with Faux Results, Obama’s lead up to 5 in Ohio Over Romney, 50%-45%

How disingenuous could some of these political polls really be?

Once again the PPP poll has come out with some rather suspect polling, done so to make it appear that Barack Obama got some kind of tremendous bounce from the DNC convention. The PPP poll shoes that Obama has a 5 point lead over Mitt Romney in the battleground state of Ohio, 50% to 45%. Really? Is that your final answer? In order to get this polling data for Obama to be up by 5, the sampling used was as follows, Sampling of the PPP poll: Democrats 41%, Republican 37%, Independent/Other 22%. The full polling results can be seen HERE.

Both candidates have seen their images improve with Ohio voters in the wake of the conventions. Obama now breaks even in his approval rating at 48%, after being under water with 46% of voters approving and 51% disapproving of him a month ago. Romney’s numbers are up from a 41/52 favorability rating a month ago as well, but he still remains unpopular. Only 44% see him favorably to 49% with a negative opinion. Romney actually leads 46-44 with independents but Obama has the overall advantage thanks to a more unified party base. He leads 86/11 with Democrats, compared to Romney’s 83/13 advantage with Republicans.

With all due respect to OTB, I would hardly consider polling sampling used from exit polling from 2008 that was a once in a lifetime election with Obama/Democrat voting at record highs and Republican voting suppressed. Yes, I do tend to dismiss the PPP poll. Sorry, when a candidate has a lead with the all important Independent vote, I find it a bit unrealistic to believe that Obama is up by 5.

We shall see in November and how many more bad jobs reports come out. What we conveniently do not see in the poll is who do Ohioians think Obama has handled the number one issue in the United States, the economy. Sorry, this poll is what is called an outlier to get to the magical unicorn number of 50%.

Barack Obama Opens Up 4 Point Lead Over Romney in Gallup National Poll Following DNC Convention … Will Dismal Economic Jobs Report Affect Bounce?

It would appear that Barack Obama has received a post convention bounce according to two polls released on Saturday. The Gallup daily tracking poll has Obama at 49% support among registered voters and GOP candidate Mitt Romney with 45%. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Saturday also has a Obama up; however, it is reported with a rather misleading title that Obama leads despite jobs data. Sorry, but the pathetic, anemic and poor jobs report came out on Friday. That is hardly enough time to feel the effects in a poll released on Saturday. Also, the polls for the swing states are going to be a better predictor for who shall be the next President of the United States. In not one battleground state is Obama polling at 50% or better.

President Obama’s post-convention bounce has grown to four points according to two new polls released Saturday.

Gallup’s daily tracking poll has Obama at 49 percent support among registered voters to GOP candidate Mitt Romney’s 45 percent.

The new figures show a 1-point increase for Obama from Friday’s results and reflects voter sentiment after the final day of the Democratic National Convention.

The Gateway Pundit reminds us to be not afraid, Gallup had Jimmy Carter up 4 points over Ronald Reagan in September 1980. We all know how that election turned out and how the undecided voted. I ma hardly suggesting that Romney will win like Reagan did in 1980; however, it is most likely that undecided voters will break to the challenger Romney due to the poor economy.

At some point Americans are going to have to determine how 43+ months of an unemployment rate over 8%, a record number of Americans on food stamps, a national debt over $16 trillion and Barack Obama with no answers to any of it except for more of the same and asking for more time is the answer. Any one with a clue, who actually loves America and wants the United States to go forward and not wind up in economic disaster will vote for Romney.

US Sen. Barrasso (R-Wyoming) Delivered the Weekly GOP Address … “President Obama is on track to have the worst jobs record of any President since World War II” … “More presidential rhetoric, and a plea for more time, won’t heal our economy.”

Barack Obama, a legacy of failure for America …

US  Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) yesterday delivered the Weekly GOP Address, following Friday’s dismal  jobs report. In the Weekly Republican Address, Barrasso said the following that, We are not better off than we were four years ago and “the undeniable truth is, President Obama is on track to have the worst jobs record of any President since World War II.” Barrasso went on to say,“when the President was hyping his so-called stimulus program, his economic team claimed unemployment would not go above 8 percent”. Instead, it’s been higher than 8 percent for 43 straight months.” 43 months and counting and the only reason why it is has gone up even more is that the participation rate is at a low not seen since 1981, those individuals who have just given up and left the work force is not counted. If they were, the actual unemployment rate would be over 11%.

“More presidential rhetoric, and a plea for more time, won’t heal our economy.”

Excepts of the GOP Weekly Address:

“The reality is that America is not better off than it was four years ago.

“Today, 23 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed. Many are our friends, neighbors, and family members.

The undeniable truth is, President Obama is on track to have the worst jobs record of any President since World War II.

“When the President was hyping his so-called stimulus program, his economic team claimed unemployment would not go above 8 percent, and that it would be below 6 percent by now. Instead, it’s been higher than 8 percent for 43 straight months.

“It’s bad enough the stimulus money was wasted. Even worse, he borrowed the money, much of it from China.

“Household incomes have dropped by more than $4,000, while the cost of everyday living has gone up.

“Gasoline prices have gone up another 30 cents a gallon in just over a month. Americans recently paid the highest prices ever on a Labor Day weekend.

One out of every seven people in America is now on food stamps.

“For every year since he took office, President Obama has spent at least a trillion dollars more than Washington took in, all of it borrowed.

“Under his watch, government spends too much, borrows too much, and grows bigger every day.

“President Obama’s record of failure has come at a great cost to our country and our future.

“The President’s policies have failed to produce the results, accountability, and solutions the American people deserve. The Obama Administration is simply not moving our country forward.

“It’s been said that, faced with his record, the President has changed his hope and change message of four years ago to one of divide and conquer today.

“More presidential rhetoric, and a plea for more time, won’t heal our economy.”

Wake up America, Barack Obama did not but provide promises in 2008. During the 2012 DNC convention it was just more of the same and provided more empty promises.

Obama, Obamanomics & the Bias MSM: 173K New Food Stamp Recipients, 96k New Jobs & 368K Leave Work Force

Welcome to Obamanomics and the corrupt main stream media complex where suddenly the poor, down and out and homeless have suddenly disappeared from the media reporting. As reported at Breitbart.com, when the GOP is in the White House, the homeless and poor appear everywhere, when Democrats and especially Barack Obama is in the Oval Office, the poor suddenly disappear like magic. The Obama reality is 173,000 new food stamp recipients, 96,000 new jobs and 368,000 give up and quit the work force. Yet, no one in the MSM media wants to talk about it.

The media’s been even worse with Barack Obama. Not only have the homeless vanished from news coverage, but so have America’s poor. But as NBC’s David Gregory made clear, if you even try to bring up the record number of food stamp recipients Barack Obama’s failed policies have created, you’ll be labeled a racist.

What is a cold, hard fact, though, is that in the last accounting available to us (May), America’s food stamp rolls increased by 173,000.  In the last jobs numbers available to us (August), only 96,000 new jobs were created.

Yes, this is the record of a president running for reelection with the slogan “Forward.”

Do your job, mainstream media, people are suffering.

Time to see the bigger moral world above your personal desire to see Obama reelected and report the truth.

But as the MSM and NBC’s David Gregory have made clear, if you even try to bring up the record number of food stamp recipients Barack Obama’s failed policies have created, you’ll be labeled a racist (Video).

47 million people are on food stamps, 1 out of every 6 Americans are on food stamps

Imagine, just imagine if a Republican president had the same economic numbers as Barack Obama does presently and the poor trending track record, they MSM would open every news segment is the headlines “FAILURE”!!! Ever segment would be devoted to the poor economic conditions and they would put a face to the plight. Instead, sadly we may have reached a point in this country where the MSM has tipped the scaled and become strictly a propaganda tool for the LEFT and whose sole purpose is to lie to the American people rather than inform them.

Remember when Thomas Jefferson said the following in 1787? Sadly, the MSM no longer covers news topics and issues as it was intended to do. They do so only if it furthers their political, bias agenda and protect and run cover for Democrats and Barack Obama.   The MSM was supposed to to inform and protect the people against government, all government no matter what party, not be in bed with government.

The basis of our government being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.

However, sadly and even more cynical … Barack Obama looks at a new food stamp recipient as a potential vote in his column. Another hooked American on a government giveaway and dependent on the federal government. What a sad state of affairs for America.
