Iowa’s Republican Senate Candidate Joni Ernst Says, I’ll Castrate DC’s Spending and Cut Pork

Let’s make DC pork spender squeal like a pig!!!

Joni Ernst, a GOP candidate for the US Senate in Iowa has certainly made a splash on the scene with a memorable political ad. If you have not already watched it, please take a look at the video below. The Conservative Republican candidate promises to cut pork when she gets to Washington. What are her qualifications you ask? Joni Ernst grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm that’s how, so when she gets to DC, she will know how to cut pork. OUCH!!! Ernst promises to cut wasteful spending, repeal Obamacare and balance the budget. Sounds like exactly what is needed to turn things around in the Senate and save America. Joni Ernst and several other Republicans are vying for the open Iowa Senate seat of the retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin.

“I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm, so when I get to Washington, I’ll know how to cut pork.”
“My parents taught us to live within our means. It’s time to force Washington to do the same.”

Former Alaska governor and Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin is endorsing state Sen. Joni Ernst, a candidate in the Iowa Senate race, following Ernst’s tongue-in-cheek ad about castrating D.C. pork. The endorsement was made on Palin’s Facebook page:

“If Nebraska’s Deb Fischer can see through the bull in Washington, then Iowa’s Joni Ernst can help her cut through the pork,” Palin wrote. “Growing up on a hog farm in Southwest Iowa, Joni has taken her ‘pork cutting’ skills to the Iowa State Senate, where she has been a champion for life, small government, and lower taxes – voting for the largest tax cut in Iowa history.”

Posted alongside a picture of Ernst in uniform, Palin was paying homage to the TV ad Ernst released on Tuesday.

More from Real Clear Politics on the other GOP candidates vying for the nomination and missteps of Democrat leading candidate U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, who was caught on camera at the closed-press event suggesting that Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley is unfit to become the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman.

Ernst is one of a half-dozen Republicans vying to take on U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, the likely Democratic nominee, for the right to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin.

Braley has been considered the favorite but faced significant blowback this week over comments he made at a Texas fundraiser. The four-term congressman was caught on camera at the closed-press event suggesting that Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley is unfit to become the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman — should the GOP win control of the upper chamber — because he is a “farmer from Iowa who never went to law school.”

Braley later apologized for his remark, but Iowa Republicans seized upon it in an effort to portray the Democrat as being out of touch with the values of the farming-heavy state.

Another Illegal Delay: Obama Administration Extends Obamacare March Deadline Into April … What Happened to Sebelius Saying, “there is no delay beyond March 31?”

Another day and another illegal Obamacare delay …

The Obama administration has just made another arbitrary and illegal delay in providing Americans more time to enroll for Obamacare. As reported at the Washington Post, the goal posts have been moved again by the Obama administration and another delay has been implemented for Obamacare enrollment from March 31 to mid-April. But get this astonishing requirement, the White House is allowing the “honor system” for the extension. These people are just making this crap up as they go along. This is beyond unbelievable that all of this stuff is being done on a whim depending of the bad news of the day of the enrollment numbers that the Obama administration claims they don’t have access to. Is it any wonder why our country is so screwed up under this president? Obamacare is just a microcosm of how Obama handles everything.

Statutes, what statutes … I am above the law

The Obama administration has decided to give extra time to Americans who say that they are unable to enroll in health plans through the federal insurance marketplace by the March 31 deadline.

Federal officials confirmed Tuesday evening that all consumers who have begun to apply for coverage on HealthCare.gov, but who do not finish by Monday, will have until about mid-April to ask for an extension.

Under the new rules, people will be able to qualify for an extension by checking a blue box on HealthCare.gov to indicate that they tried to enroll before the deadline. This method will rely on an honor system; the government will not try to determine whether the person is telling the truth.

The rules, which will apply to the federal exchanges operating in three dozen states, will essentially create a large loophole even as White House officials have repeatedly said that the March 31 deadline was firm. The extra time will not technically alter the deadline but will create a broad new category of people eligible for what’s known as a special enrollment period.

What happened to change the fact that Obamacare enrollment was not going to be extended? Wasn’t it just earlier this month that a CMS spokesperson and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated there would be no more delays? HHS official Julie Bataille said. “In fact, we don’t actually have the statutory authority to extend the open enrollment period in 2014.” And on March 12, 2014 Sebelius testified before Congress as such and said specifically, there would be no Obamacare enrollment delay past March 31?

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services spokeswoman Julie Bataille said during a conference call on Tuesday that ‘we have no plans to extend the open enrollment period’ that began amid fits and starts on October 1.

‘In fact, we don’t actually have the statutory authority to extend the open enrollment period in 2014,’ she said.

On Wednesday, Republican Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp asked Sebelius if she agreed.

‘I haven’t seen their statements,’ she replied, despite having been on the conference call, ‘but there is no delay beyond March 31.’

As for the extended deadline on the honor system. Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin.com might just have the quote of the day … “Why should the Obama administration care to determine whether a potential enrollee is telling the truth? The Obama administration doesn’t even care if the Obama administration is telling the truth.” AMEN!!!

Barack Obama & Vladimir Putin Phone Conversation on ‘The Tonight Show’ … Obamacare is a Joke in Russia, Too

Imagine a government forcing people to accept something that the majority of them don’t even want. In fact, what if 38.9% were in favor and 53.6% were against, or a -14.7% average of people were against what a government had forced on its people. Are we referring to Putin, Russia and Crimea? Hardly, we are talking about Barack Obama, Democrats and Obamacare. How bad is it when we can compare what Russia does to it’s citizens to that what those in power in America does to theirs?

From Jilly Fallon and The Tonight Show:

Obama - “Don’t you see what you’re doing though? You’re forcing people to accept something that the majority of them don’t even want.”
Putin – “Yes, in Russia we have word for this … Obamacare“.

Nancy Pelosi Thinks Obamacare is a Winner … San Fran Nan Chides Journalist for using the Term “Obamacare” … It’s the Affordable Care Act, People!!!

HA, House Democrat Minority leader thinks Obamacare is a winner and does her best “Rainman’ imitation.  … It’s affordable, definitely, definitely affordable.

Nancy Pelosi (CA-D) was asked by the media whether Obamacare was a winner or loser for a politician in a swing district. Her response was not only ridiculous spin, what followed was just down right embarrassing.  Responding to reporter’s question, Pelosi said the unpopular law is a political winner for Democrats and then chided the journalist for using the term “Obamacare.” By the way nancy, I hate to burst your bubble, but it is not affordable.

In response to one reporter’s question, Pelosi said the unpopular law is a political winner for Democrats, chiding the journalist for using the term “Obamacare” in the first place:

It’s the Affordable Care Act, people. Even though it…isn’t affordable for millions upon millions of people, including most of the previously-uninsured population. Also, it’s a real headache to keep up with the lexicon rules. For awhile, “Obamacare” was a vicious Republican slur. Then it was totally fine to use because Team Obama embraced it. Now that the administration has backed away from the term (hilarious context here), Pelosi is back to being a stickler for formality.

I guess the out to lunch Pelosi failed to get the memo that at year 4, Obamacare is as unpopular as ever. More at Real Clear Politics.

As the four-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act approaches, the law remains unpopular with the public. Currently, 53% disapprove of the 2010 health care law while 41% approve of the law. Opinion of the measure is virtually unchanged since last September.

Hmm, I thought Barack Obama did not mind when people call it Obamacare?

Barack Obama, the Liar in Chief Strikes Again … Health Industry Officials say ObamaCare Related Premiums Will Double in Parts of the Country,

But I thought Obama said under Obamacare our premiums would go down … Not so says  Health Industry Officials.

What would the day be like without out another Barack Obama lie regarding Obamacare? The Hill is reporting that healthcare industry officials are saying that O-care related premiums will double in some parts of the country. This is in direct contrast to what Obama promised and (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius continually spins. As one industry official said, “It’s pretty shortsighted because I think everybody knows that the way the exchange has rolled out … is going to lead to higher costs.” Gee, ya think? Let alone they have missed their mark badly on the number of enrollees, and more importantly, the number of young, healthy, non-subsidy seeking enrollees.

Obama_Biden

Don’t worry Barack, they won’t find out the truth until it’s too late, Hope & Change, Hope & Change, lower premiums …  ah-ha-ha-ha!!!

Health industry officials say ObamaCare-related premiums will double in some parts of the country, countering claims recently made by the administration.

The expected rate hikes will be announced in the coming months amid an intense election year, when control of the Senate is up for grabs. The sticker shock would likely bolster the GOP’s prospects in November and hamper ObamaCare insurance enrollment efforts in 2015.

The industry complaints come less than a week after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sought to downplay concerns about rising premiums in the healthcare sector. She told lawmakers rates would increase in 2015 but grow more slowly than in the past.

“The increases are far less significant than what they were prior to the Affordable Care Act,” the secretary said in testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee.

Her comment baffled insurance officials, who said it runs counter to the industry’s consensus about next year.

“It’s pretty shortsighted because I think everybody knows that the way the exchange has rolled out … is going to lead to higher costs,” said one senior insurance executive who requested anonymity.

Will some benefit from Obama, certainly. But it does not even come close the the amount of people that will be adversely affected. It just goes to show you that if a lie is told long enough and loud  enough, and not questioned in any responsible manner, it can become the truth by an apathetic people. Oh yea, and if you like your healthcare plan and doctor, you will be able to keep them too.

Obama promises the applauding lemmings that their premiums will go down under Obamacare

Remember when Obama said that for those who get their healthcare insurance through their workplace, that through Obamacare your employers would see their premiums decrease by 3000% and would be able to give you a raise? Buying that American? Why do you think Obama has delayed the employer mandate for Obamacare, maybe because that is where an overwhelming majority of Americans receive their healthcare and the premiums would escalate, not go down? Or because your employer would toss you off the plan and onto Obamacare? And maybe, just maybe to get by the 2014 and 2014 elections.

Now Obama is promising saving families an average of $2500 a year per family
