One would have to think that some one caught something on video. The whole point of Zombicon is to be seen and take pictures. Everyone at these events have their cell phones rolling. Police asked attendees to share smartphone video from the incident at an event expected to draw more than 20,000 people. However, one cannot help but notice the irony, individuals who witnessed the shooting at ZombiCon said to reporters that it is the first time I have ever seen anyone dead. Imagine the fact that there be death involved with Zombies.

11 Year Old Boy Faces 1st Degree Murder Charges in the Shooting Death of 8 Year Old MaKayla Dyer in White Pine, TN
YES YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS, YOU ALSO HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO USE AND CARE FOR THEM …
An 11 year old boy has been charged with the shooting death of his 8 year old neighbor, MaKayla Dyer. The unidentified boy, due to his age, is reported to have shot MaKayla Dyer with a 12-guage shotgun over a discussion about puppies. That’s correct. An 8 year old is dead today over puppies. For an eleven year old to do something this callous and heinous, there is more going on with this child than an argument over puppies. According to accounts from a neighbor, Chasity Atwood, “He asked the little girl to see her puppies. She said no and laughed and then turned around, looked at her friend and said, ‘Let’s go get the — ‘ and never got ‘puppies’ out.” The boy then shot her in the chest with a shotgun owned by the boy’s father. Look for the father to be charged with reckless endangerment or negligent homicide as well. Who the hell in their right mind owns guns and just has them out in the open with children present in the home?
Authorities were called to Robin Road in White Pine around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting.
Deputies found the girl on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Sheriff Bud McCoig said the young girl’s next-door neighbor, a fifth grader at White Pine Elementary School, used his father’s 12-gauge single-shot shotgun to shoot and kill the girl from inside his house. The victim was in second grade at the same school.
Officials have not released the name of the shooter or the victim, but neighbors identified the victim as Maykayla Dyer.
Sheriff McCoig would not release any details on a possible motive, but neighbors say the two were arguing over a puppy.
“Wanting to see a puppy, the little girl laughed and told him no, and that was it,” neighbor Chasity Arwood said.

Dyer was transported to Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The boy is being held in juvenile court on charges of first-degree murder.
At Dyer’s school on Monday, principal Bill Walker told reporters that “it’s not just the school that’s hurting — it’s the whole community,” he said, adding, “We remember her smile and her beautiful face and her interaction with her classmates.”

Oregon Shooting: 10 Dead Including Gunman at Umpqua Community College (Update: Gunman ID’d as Chris Harper Mercer)
Following the mass shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College, 10 people are dead, including the gunman. According to accounts of the mass shooting, the gunman specifically targeted individuals who were Christians. As reported at CNN, the gunman asked whether individuals were Christians stating, “Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second. And then he shot and killed them.” The shooter has been identified as 26 year old Chris Harper Mercer. The gunman was killed in a gun battle with police after officers responded to the scene at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg just before 10:40 AM.
Ten people were killed when a gunman opened fire at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College on Thursday, forcing the nation to face yet another mass shooting.
Seven other people were injured, and the shooter is dead, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told reporters. Earlier estimates had put the number of people hurt much higher.
Multiple law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation identified the gunman as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. Investigators have interviewed members of his family and friends, they said.
“I will not name the shooter,” Hanlin said. “I will not give him the credit he probably sought.”
Authorities credited a quick response by law enforcement for keeping the death toll from climbing higher.
A law enforcement official said the shooter had body armor with him and was heavily armed, with a large amount of ammunition — enough for a prolonged gunfight.
Hanlin said tactical teams and bomb squads had cleared the buildings on campus and were working to clear hundreds of vehicles parked on campus.
UPDATE I: Shooter asks students their religion.
The shooter at Umpqua Community College on Thursday asked people to state their religion and then started firing, one student said.
Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old, told the News Review she was sitting in her writing class when a bullet blasted through the window. She saw her teacher shot in the head then noticed that the shooter was in the classroom.
Moore said the shooter told people to get on the ground. He then asked people to stand up and state their religion but started firing anywhere. She was on the ground next to people who’d been shot.
UPDATE II: Umpqua Gunman Chris Harper Mercer — What We Know.
Former acquaintances and social-media postings paint a picture of 26-year-old Christopher Harper Mercer — who was killed in a firefight with police at Umpqua Community College — as a withdrawn young man who spent a lot of time on the Internet.
Public records show that one person of that name was born in Los Angeles County in 1989. Police declined to confirm the shooter’s identity late Thursday, in an attempt to not “glorify” the actions of the gunman behind a rampage that left 10 dead and seven others wounded.
Investigators said it was too soon to identify a motive, though Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told NBC’s TODAY he wasn’t aware of any “specific red flags” for the shooter.
“He is a local resident and I know personally I haven’t heard of any warning signs coming from this person,” Hanlon said.
A MySpace page that appeared to be linked to the shooter featured Mercer holding what appeared to be a rifle while several other postings were sympathetic to the Irish Republican Army and featured masked gunmen and logos.

31 Year Old Joseph ‘Joey’ Meek, Friend of Charleston, SC Church Shooter Dylann Roof Arrested by FBI
31 year old Joseph ‘Joey’ Meek of Red Bank, South Caroina was arrested by the FBI in connection with the Charleston church shooting that left 9 dead at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Joey Meeks opened up his home to Dylann Roof in the weeks before the June killings of nine African-Americans in a Charleston church. Meek told reporters in late June that on June 10, while he, Roof and their friend Christon Scriven were getting drunk on vodka, Roof announced plans to carry out a mass shooting seven days later at the College of Charleston. Should Meek’s have told the authorities and not just blamed it on the alcohol? Meek says that he did not take Dylann Roof serious, hmm … how do you feel know? If Meek is charged with and convicted of making false statements, he could be facing up to 5 years in prison. However, that number rises to 8 years when the false statements concern certain types of crimes, including international or domestic terrorism.
The man who opened his home to Dylann Roof in the weeks before the June killings of nine African-Americans in a Charleston church has been arrested by the FBI.
Agents picked up Joseph “Joey” Meek Jr., 21, of Red Bank, while he was at work Thursday afternoon, his girlfriend, Lindsey Fry, told The State newspaper shortly afterward.
Meek called her on his cell phone as it was happening, Fry said.
“He just said, ‘They want to talk to me, but I think I’m going to jail,’” she said.
Meek lives in a trailer in Red Bank with his mother, two brothers and Fry, who is 19.
Meek was informed in an Aug. 6 letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Columbia that he was a “potential target” of the federal criminal investigation into the slayings of nine parishioners at the historic “Mother” Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.
The letter stated that Meek was under investigation for possible misprision and allegedly making false statements to law enforcement. Both crimes are felonies.
