This should come as a shock to absolutely no one … According to Forbes ranking, Detroit, Michigan tops the list as the most miserable city in the United States.  Detroit was a pretty easy choice for #1 with its violent crimes, high unemployment, dwindling population and financial crisis. What do you notice that every one of these cities has in common … Democrat leadership, or the lack thereof. What do these cities also have in common, they all overwhelmingly voted for Barack Obama. Don’t look now, as the immortal Casey Kasem would say during his music countdown, Obama’s current home town of Chicago is #4 with a bullet.

The latest blow was Tuesday’s announcement that the city is on the verge of being taken over by the state. Detroit is in a financial emergency and cannot pay its bills. The city has been issuing debt to fund day-to-day operations. The continuing problems propelled Detroit to the top spot in our 2013 ranking of America’s Most Miserable Cities.

This year we examined nine factors for the 200 largest metro areas in the U.S. The metrics include the serious: violent crime, unemployment, foreclosures, taxes (income and property) and home prices. We also include less weighty, but still important quality-of-life issues like commute times and weather.

Detroit’s problems are hardly new. It has been in a four-decade decline, paralleling the slide of the U.S. auto industry. The city’s debt rating was cut to junk by Moody’s Investors Service in 1992, but declining tax revenues from a shrinking city will soon make Detroit a ward of the state.

Violent crime in the Detroit metro division was down 5% in 2011, but it remains the highest in the country with 1,052 violent crimes per 100,000 people, according to the FBI. The city’s financial problems have forced significant cutbacks to the police force. It is a circuitous problem as high crime and unemployment force people to leave the city, which lowers the tax base and strains Detroit’s finances further.

Hollywood actress Ashley Judd met with Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as she contemplates whether she will do a US Senate run against incumbent Republican and Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell. Wow, just what the Senate needs, another out of touch, self absorbed, egomaniac. So what exactly is Judd’s qualification to be Senator, her role in ‘Simon Birch’ or ‘Double Jeopardy’? Seriously, other than her celebrity for being an actress, what does she bring to the table? Then again, Barack Obama has shown as that absolute failure gets one reelected. I realize that Democrats think that all the states in the South are the same, but by the way, doesn’t she live in Tennessee?

Actress Ashley Judd privately met with officials at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Washington earlier this week, as she continues to weigh whether to mount a Senate run against Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, according to two sources familiar with the session.

According to one person familiar with the matter, Tuesday’s meeting was Judd’s first formal one with officials at the DSCC, which coordinates strategy, recruits and fundraises on behalf of Democratic Senate candidates. DSCC officials refused to comment, saying they would not discuss candidate recruitment.

The meeting indicates that the Hollywood movie star and eighth-generation Kentuckian is still seriously weighing a political foray after spending the past several years as an outspoken environmental and liberal activist.

In my personal opinion, Ashley Judd is far too liberal for the politics of Kentucky. If anything, she would galvanize the GOP and Conservatives against her and the Democrats in a midterm election. So by all mean Ashley, run.

Brevard Community College College Recommends Firing for Professor Who Forced Students To Sign a Pledge to Vote For Obama and Democrats

The Brevard Community College professor, Sharon Sweet, who forced students to sign a pledge that they would vote for Obama may actually lose her job. Could there actually be some sanity in liberal academia? Sharon Sweet allegedly told students to sign a pledge that stated, “I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.” The colleges’ president is asking that the tenured professor be fired. What, you mean it is not the job of a professor to force students in their class and sign a pledge card with the underlying perception that if you do not, you’re grades may suffer? Welcome to liberal academia extortion. After an investigation, a review board determined that Sweet both attempted to influence her students’ vote and misrepresented her intentions.

A tenured professor who forced her students to sign pledges that they would vote for President Barack Obama last November should be fired, the college’s president recommended.

Sharon Sweet, an associate professor of mathematics at Brevard Community College in Florida, is guilty of electioneering, harassment, and incompetence, according to a three-month investigation into her classroom behavior leading up to the November election.

The Board of Trustees will hold a hearing on the matter, and then vote on whether to adopt President James Richey’s recommendation that Sweet be fired.

Tenured or not, this woman should be gone. No teacher should be allowed to use their position in a school to further their political agenda. The LEFT is against schools doing the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States, yet they are ok with a pledge to Obama?

So much for the fact that Our Founding Fathers set up a “Bill of Rights” to protect its citizens from the very government that was put in place. The Second Amendment was created to prevent a US government from taking away our liberties and protect us from government tyranny. I guess one can say that Glover’s reasoning for the First Amendment must be to give him the right to sound like a race-baiting fool.

The Constitution’s Second Amendment was created to bolster slavery and capture land from Native Americans, award winning actor Danny Glover told a group of students at a Texas A&M sponsored event on Thursday.

“I don’t know if you know the genesis of the right to bear arms,” he said. “The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans.”

“A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the second amendment is,” he continued.

Second Home Identified on Journal News Gun Map Is Burglarized and Guns Stolen

Its becoming a predictable trend …

A second home has now been burglarized and guns stolen in the wake of the Journal News gun map. Once again Journal News, I hope you are proud of yourselves. The guns that were stolen in New City included a .45-caliber Colt revolver and a .22-caliber Iver Johnson. Cash, U.S. savings bonds and jewelry were also stolen. What is going to happen when guns stolen from law abiding gun owners as a result of the Journal News’ map are used in the course of another crime?

Two handguns and two pistol permits were stolen from the New City home of a man whose name and address are listed on the website of a local newspaper as possessing gun permits, police said.

The thieves ransacked the house Wednesday night, breaking into two safes on the home’s third floor and stealing a third safe. The guns were in the stolen safe, police said.

Clarkstown police said they had no evidence the burglary was connected to the controversial map.

“The burglary is still under investigation, and there are no facts to support this correlation at this time,” Clarkstown Sgt. Joanne Fratianni said in a statement. “If the investigation develops further information, it will be released accordingly.”

It was only a matter of time, a White Plains elder man’s home was robbed whose residence, name and guns he owned was shamefully published on the web by the Journal News. The burglars targeted the man’s gun safe. What a coincidence, eh? As reported on the video at Newsday, neighbors stated that they cannot even remember the last time there was a break in/robbery in their community. Yet another coincidence after the liberal Journal News outed law abiding citizens and published their addresses and the guns they owned and put them in harms way.

I hope the folks at the Journal News are proud of themselves. Thanks for making law abiding citizens and individuals who follow the rules at risk to the scum of America. Those who criticized the Journal News for doing this outrageous action said that they had violated these individual’s privacy and subjected them to danger. Looks like they were 100% correct.

A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.

At least two burglars broke into a home on Davis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Saturday but were unsuccessful in an attempt to open the safe, which contained legally owned weapons, according to a law enforcement source. One suspect was taken into custody, the source said.

The gun owner was not home when the burglary occurred, the source said. The victim, who is in his 70s, told Newsday on Sunday that he did not want to comment while the police investigation continues.

Police are investigating what role, if any, the database played in the burglars’ decision to target the home, the law enforcement source said.

White Plains police Lt. Eric Fischer confirmed that a burglary occurred but would not release further information Sunday.

The burglary is being investigated by the police, one suspect has been arrested.

Mums the word these days from the Journal News is explaining themselves as to why the outed law abiding Americans who had committed no crime.  What will they say when some one is killed thanks to their irresponsible journalism?

South Carolina Chapin High School English Teacher Stomps om American Flag in Class

Hey liberal teachers … actions have consequences.

A Lexington-Richland District 5 English teacher at Chapin High School in  South Carolina finds himself in hot water from his actions of stomping on the American flag in class.  The misguided liberal teacher told the class that there would be no consequences in what he did because the flag was just a piece of cloth. How wrong could one fool be.  One may have the freedom of speech to stomp and burn the American flag, but the school also has the right to toss this liberal teacher out of the school on his ear. The teacher chose symbols of a cross and a flag to desecrate, isn’t that interesting that these idiot would have chose those two symbols to disrespect?

When Michael Copeland overheard his teenager talking about what her honors II English teacher did with the flag in their classroom, he pressed for details.

“He drew a couple of symbols, like one of them was a cross, and he said, ‘What does this represent,’ and everybody said, ‘Christianity,’” said Copeland.

“Then he proceeds to take down the American flag, and said, ‘This is a symbol, but it’s only a piece of cloth. It doesn’t mean anything,’ and then he throws it down on the floor and then stomps on it, repeatedly.”

“I asked what was he trying to get, the point across? And she said, ‘I don’t know,’ and he said, his explanation was there would be no consequences, it’s just a piece of cloth that doesn’t mean anything.”

But there are consequences.

“Our superintendent served in the military, I served in the military for 20 years, our flag is a symbol of our freedom, and so many people have fought and died for that liberty, and so we take this action very seriously,” said Mark Bounds, a spokesperson for Lexington-Richland 5.

One may want to explain to this teacher that the superintendent of the school was a served in the military for 20 years and South Carolina is not California. Wake up America, this crap goes on every day in our schools where teachers with liberal, anti-American values try to indoctrinate children to their screwed up world view. A schooll spokesman said,“There is a code of ethics for teachers that talks about professional conduct, and then we tell our teachers that their personal opinion is their personal opinion and shouldn’t be brought into the classroom.” Liberals do not care.

However, I will say this … this misguided teacher does have the right to do what he did under the First Amendment, but there are always consequences to one’s actions, especially when teachers sign “ethics” and “conduct” guidelines.

House Democrat Minority Leader Pelosi Says Tax Hikes Must Be Part of Next Deficit Deal … Dems Look for Additional $1 Trillion in new Taxes in 2013

And you bought the notion that Democrats just wanted to tax the rich … Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats have not even yet started to tax “We the People”.

House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi says that tax hikes must be a part of the next fiscal deal. Hmm, they have already taxed the rich and now they are coming after the rest. Never forget that Democrats want to tax your dreams as well. Elections have consequences and sadly too many suckers bought Obama’s class warfare rhetoric and now ALL Americans will face tax increases.

Democrats say they want to raise as much as $1 trillion in new revenues through tax reform later this year to balance Republican demands to slash mandatory spending.

Democratic leaders have had little time to craft a new position for their party since passing a tax deal Tuesday that will raise $620 billion in revenue over the next ten years.

The emerging consensus, however, is that the next installment of deficit reduction should reach $2 trillion and about half of it should come from higher taxes.

This sets up tax reform as one of the biggest fights of the 113th Congress, which began on Thursday.

Republicans say tax reform should be revenue neutral. Additional revenues collected by eliminating or curbing tax breaks and deductions should be used to lower rates.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has dismissed the possibility of negotiating additional tax increases.

Hollywood Leftist Ben Affleck Says He Will Not Run for US Senate Seat in Massachusetts

The great national wait is over whether Hollywood Leftist actor Ben Affleck says he will not be running for the US Senate seat of Massachusetts. The seat will presumably be up for special election once Sen. John Kerry is approved by the Senate to be the next US Secretary of State. What a load off every one’s mind that Affleck will not be running. We can all sleep now. Of course he is not running for office, its easier to complain about things and be a pseudo political activist on MSNBC rather than actually affect change. Also, there is that little issue about the pay cut.

Ben Affleck is taking his name off the list of possible candidates for U.S. Sen. John Kerry’s seat, which would be open if the Democratic senator from Massachusetts is confirmed as secretary of state.

Affleck says in a Monday posting on his Facebook page that while he loves the political process, he will not be running for public office.

It is rather interesting and telling when the big mouth Left is presented with an opportunity to put there money career where their mouth is, they decline.

Really? What kind of ignoramus are you? Oh wait, that’s right, it was MSNBC. A lot you know about crime.  First of all, it is white men that are profiled as serial killers.  Second, mass murderers are also profiled as white men. To answer your questions as to how this would have been handled if the gun man’s name was Abdul, yes it would have been handled differently as it would have been a terror act.

When the question of profiling came up, Sirota insisted that the perpetrators of these kinds of crimes are most often white men – the only group in America that is “not allowed to be profiled.” Sirota said, if the shooter was any race other than white, the debate over policy measures to prevent these types of events in the future would have been “uglier.”

Sadly the race baiting liberals at MSNBC do not care about helping protect children, they care about dividing America. These moonbats are all for banning guns as to being the answer to stop such heinous violence. Conversely, they do not believe the mentally ill should be profiled, even though all of the past mass murderers,  Jared Lee Loughner, the Tucson Massacre shooter, Oregen Mall shooter Jacob Roberts, VA Tech shooter  Cho Seung Hui, Dark Knight Movie Massacre Shooter James Holmes  and Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza. all had one thing in common … they were mentally imbalanced.

As stated at Legal Insurrection, of all the things that the heinous and terrible murders were in Newtown, CT, racism was not one of them. Sorry, but when you have the death of 20 children, ages 6 and 7, it would matter little what the race was of the shooter to change the public debate. It does not get any worse than the death of 20 precious angels. However, mental illness was at the root cause of this terrible crime, however, the Left just scoffs as such a notion.

I told you that mental illness would not be addressed seriously, even though mental illness with warning signs of danger is a pattern in these mass murders.  I had not anticipated that the race card would be the factor that got in the way.
