21 year old Shane Montgomery, a senior at West Chester University who was home for the Thanksgiving holiday was last seen by friends early Thursday morning at about 1:45 am, November 27, 2014, at a crowded bar in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA.  According to police, Shane Montgomery was asked to leave Kildare’s Irish Pub by a bar bouncer after Shane accidentally tripped into a DJ booth.  The bouncer and Montgomery’s cousins had told investigators he was “not falling-down drunk.” Further, the bouncer stated that he spoke to the missing West Chester University senior who apologized and left. Kildaire’s Irish Pub is located on the 4400 block of Main Street.

UPDATE I: Search continues for Missing Student Shane Montgomery.

About 500 volunteers, led by Greater Philadelphia Search and Rescue, were split into groups of 25. Many of them were carrying flyers, going door to door as they searched Main Street in Manayunk and the nearby banks of the Schuylkill River.

A tree lighting and caroling event scheduled for Saturday night in Manayunk was cancelled as a result of the search, and officials were planning to hold a candlelight vigil at Canal View Park.

UPDATE II: Reward up to $15,000 in case of missing West Chester University student.

The reward for a West Chester University student who went missing during the early hours of Thanksgiving has now increased to $15,000.

This comes as the FBI announced that Philadelphia Police asked then to join in the search for 21-year-old Shane Mongtomery.

The FBI task force that helped find and rescue Philadelphia kidnap victim Carlesha Freeland-Gaither has joined the search for missing college student Shane Montgomery.

As agents began reinterviewing witnesses in the Manayunk area Sunday, a police marine unit ended its inch-by-inch search in the frigid Manayunk Canal, failing to turn up any trace of Montgomery. The marine unit may next begin searching the nearby Schuylkill.

A law enforcement source with detailed knowledge of the investigation said the FBI was questioning the staff at Kildare’s Irish Pub, where the West Chester University student, 21, was last seen early Thanksgiving Day, after partying with friends.

Classmates of the 21-year-old West Chester University senior gathered outside the Sykes Student Union Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a candlelight vigil.

The family of a Philadelphia college student who disappeared early Thanksgiving morning said Sunday that police divers had found his keys in the Schuylkill River.

Shane Montgomery, a 21-year-old student at West Chester University, was last seen on surveillance footage walking into a parking lot along the river’s bank after leaving a bar in Manayunk, Pa., where he had been drinking with friends.

Kevin Verbrugghe, Montgomery’s uncle, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the keys had been found in the water just south of the parking lot. Verbrugghe said he confirmed the keys were his nephew’s by trying them on Montgomery’s front door.

34 year old  Shelly Dawn Vessell Gravely has been missing since Friday, November 14, 2014 in Patrick County, Virginia.  Shelly Dawn Vessell Gravely of South Mayo Drive, was last heard from shortly after 10 p.m. Friday. Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith has said Gravely did not get in touch with friends on Saturday as usual, and Patrick authorities were contacted shortly before midnight Saturday to do a well-being check. When the police arriving at her home, Gravely was not there; however, her vehicle was.

Shelly Dawn Vessell Gravely, 34, of South Mayo Drive, was last heard from shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.

Gravely is described as being 5’4” tall and weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Smith said that clothing and possible vehicle descriptions are unknown.

Gravely did not make contact with friends as she usually does on Saturday, prompting authorities to be contacted just before midnight Saturday to check Gravely’s well-being, according to the release.

As investigators continued to search Monday for a Patrick County woman last heard from Friday night, a friend said the disappearance is out of character for the mother of two.

Shelly Dawn Vessell Gravely, 34, of South Mayo Drive, last was heard from shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, authorities have said.

Catrina Harris, whose son is friends with one of Gravely’s two children, indicated that it isn’t like Gravely to disappear without word.

UPDATE II: 45 searchers continue to look for missing woman.

Law enforcement officers from several agencies scoured primary and secondary roads Tuesday for evidence that might lead to a missing Patrick County woman.

“Officers from multiple agencies are working in teams, doing foot searches along the roadway and side roads near the victim’s home on South Mayo Drive,” Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith said Tuesday.

They are searching for information on the location of Shelly Dawn Vessell Gravely, 34, who has not been heard from since shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, authorities have said.

About 45 officers from multiple agencies covered an estimated 100 miles of road in Patrick and Henry counties Tuesday during the foot searches. Smith said nearly all his deputies were taking part.

Smith said the foot searches done Tuesday stretched into Henry County (an estimated 20 to 30 miles from Gravely’s home), where they focused on areas Patrick authorities identified. He declined to elaborate on why those areas were chosen.

A reward is being offered for information on Gravely’s location. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact Smith at 276-692-7012 or the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office at 276-694-3161.

UPDATE I: Remains Found of Missing Dawn Vessell Gravely. Also, Anthony “Skeet” Joyce arrested.

Patrick and Henry County deputies have found the remains of missing Patrick County mother Shelly Gravely.

Gravely was found at around 12:30 Saturday morning in Henry County, just north of the North Carolina state line.

Investigators have arrested Anthony “Skeet” Joyce in connection to her disappearance. He was arrested just before midnight in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Joyce is being held in the Guilford County jail as a fugitive from justice. Patrick County investigators have obtained warrants for abduction and robbery.

One Pilot Missing After Two U.S. Fighter Jets Collide Over Pacific Ocean

One pilot is missing, after two F/A-18 Hornets collided over the Pacific Ocean. One pilot was found and returned to the USS Carl Vinson. There is currently a search mission taking place to locate the missing pilot. Both jets were assigned to the Carl Vinson, on its way to the Persian Gulf to relieve the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush. The incident is under investigation.

Two American fighter jets collided over the Pacific Ocean and crashed Friday, and one pilot was still missing, the Navy said. The jets, both F/A-18 Hornets, had not been recovered. One pilot was found and returned to the USS Carl Vinson, the Navy said. A cruiser, a destroyer and helicopters were searching the western Pacific for the second pilot.

ABC News: 2 Navy Fighter Jets Crash in Western Pacific.

The two carriers from the carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) crashed at 5:40 p.m. local time, according to the Navy’s Seventh Fleet. The carrier is operating in an area off Guam.

“One pilot was rapidly located and returned to Carl Vinson, and is currently receiving medical attention,” it said in a statement. “Search efforts continue for the second pilot.”

The F/A-18 fighter has a single-seater version, as well as a double-seater variant. The aircraft involved in this incident were single-seater F/A-18Cs.

UPDATE I: Navy Ends Search for Missing Pilot in Western Pacific.

The Navy has ended an extensive search for a missing fighter pilot aboard one of two F/A-18C jets that apparently collided Friday over the western Pacific. The missing pilot is presumed to be deceased.

The Navy’s Seventh Fleet issued a statement saying it had ended its search and rescue efforts for the missing pilot 36 hours after the planes had crashed into the ocean 250 nautical miles off the coast of Wake Island.

The search is on for 8 year old Isabella “Bella” Grogan-Cannella who went missing from her home before 1:30 Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014 in Bullhead City, Arizona. She was last seen in her bed Monday night at her home on the 2400 block of Lakeside Drive (map). Police were called to the home early Tuesday morning, as “Bella’s” family told them that she wasn’t in her bed or anywhere in the house. According to reports, the FBI and National Center for Missing & Exploited Children have been contacted. To date, there has yet to be an Amber Alert issued.

The girl, who goes by Bella, is 4’8″ tall and between 80 and 90 pounds. She has shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a green, sparkly tank top and dark shorts. She could be barefoot.

UPDATE II: Body found near home of missing Arizona girl

Investigators found a body near the home of missing 8-year-old Isabella Grogan-Cannella, Bullhead City Police Chief Brian Williamson said Wednesday.

Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the body, Williamson said, adding that investigators planned to finish gathering evidence at the scene and turn the body over to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

He would not provide additional information on the approximate age of the body, its gender or condition.

Body Found in Search for Missing 8-Year-Old Arizona Girl

A body has been found in Bullhead City, Arizona, as authorities — including the FBI — search for an 8-year-old girl who has been missing for more than 40 hours, police said Wednesday.

At a news conference late Wednesday afternoon, police said it was too early to know whether the body is that of Isabella Grogan-Cannella, known as “Bella,” who went to bed Monday night but wasn’t there when her parents went to check on her shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. They said there were no signs of a break-in but that kidnapping was a possibility, and that they were searching the nearby Colorado River.

A 26-year-old man snatched an eight-year-old girl in the middle of the night as he stayed at her family’s home – before murdering her and leaving her body in a shallow grave, police have said.

Justin James Rector was arrested on kidnapping and first-degree murder charges on Thursday morning after the body of Bella Grogan-Cannella was found in Bullhead City, Arizona on Wednesday.

At a press conference on Thursday, Police Chief Brian Williamson would not reveal how Bella died or if she had been sexually assaulted. He said they are still trying to determine a motive for the murder.

The Mohave County medical examiner released the manner of death for Isabella “Bella” Grogan-Cannella on Friday. The cause of death was asphyxiation.

Police found Isabella’s body in a shallow grave near her Bullhead City home Wednesday, a day after her family reported her missing.

Isabella was discovered wearing the same green, ruffled, sparkly tank top she had on when she was last seen. However, authorities said she didn’t have any clothing on her lower half and they are looking into whether she was the victim of sexual assault.

30 Year Old Hillary Sharma Missing Since 8/19/14 in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Peninsula, OH

30 year old Hillary Sharma has been missing since August 19, 2014 in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Peninsula, Ohio. Officials continue the search for Sharma in the national park that consists of 33,000 acres of rugged terrain. According to her friends, Hillary Sharma is a hiker and climber and very familiar with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Hillary Sharma, 30, was last seen Tuesday in Bedford. Eastlake police reported her missing Thursday.

Sharma is described as being approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has dark hair and dark eyes.

National Park Service rangers are leading the search and the Summit County Search and Rescue team is searching the water, the park spokeswoman said. The Cuyahoga County Southwest Emergency Response Team and local police are also assisting.

UPDATE I: Missing Eastlake woman’s car, personal items found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

According to officials with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Sharma’s car was found at the Boston Store Visitor Center in Peninsula, near the Ohio and Erie Canal around midnight Friday. this following after Eastlake police issued a BOLA,  ‘be on the lookout alert’ Thursday, which led to a search involving many local agencies both on the ground, by boat and in the air.

UPDATE Friday, 2:40 p.m.: Searchers found some belongings in a remote section of the woods within two miles of where Sharma’s vehicle was found. The National Parks Service is investigating if the items belong to the 30-year-old missing woman. Sharma’s camera case was found inside her car, but the camera was not found. Her cell phone is also missing.

UPDATE Saturday, 5:08 p.m.: At this hour, dozens of people are searching for the Eastlake woman who’s been missing since Tuesday.  We are finding out that personal items found recently do, in fact, belong to 30 year-old Hillary Sharma.  Cuyahoga Valley National Park leaders tell us based on those items they are centering their search to a more defined area.  That area is a few miles from the Boston Store Visitor Center where Sharma’s car was found Thursday.  No more specifics were given on the items found or the area where they are searching.

UPDATE III: Search for missing Eastlake woman expands at Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Authorities decided during a planning meeting Monday to take a threefold approach to the search, according to a park spokeswoman.

First, they will continue to search the remote, off-trail area where some of Sharma’s belongings were found Friday. Although investigators spent the weekend perusing that space, the park spokeswoman said it is dense and difficult to walk.

Second, the search will expand to other areas in the 33,000-acre park, including the Cuyahoga River. The park has asked volunteer kayakers to assist police kayakers in searching the roughly 2-mile stretch of river between the Boston Store Visitor Center in Peninsula and the park’s headquarters in Brecksville.

Third, the park is seeking tips from the public about anything they’ve seen in the park or about Sharma’s personal life. A man who answered the door at Sharma’s Eastlake home Sunday told the Northeast Ohio Media Group that she’d recently overcome personal issues.
