Missing: Alex-Zander DeVore

On Saturday FOX 4 spoke to Trina Merriott, the mother of Alex-Zander DeVore, who said her son has been missing since 10 a.m.  She said he was last seen by family in his father’s backyard doing chores.

Police say around 12:30 p.m. Alex-Zander was spotted at a McDonald’s located near 87th and Blue Ridge Blvd., where a man reportedly bought the boy a sandwich, but police said there was no indication the man did anything other than that.

“A man in a Kansas City hat and a red shirt bought him food and nobody can confirm if they left together or if he left by himself,” said Merriott.

Police are describing Alex-Zander as five feet tall, weighing around 100 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. His mother said he has recently had his hair cut and did not have a shirt on when he left his home. She said he was wearing black basketball shorts and white, blue and red Nike tennis shoes.

UPDATE I: Surveillance video Shows Missing Boy Last Seen at local McDonald’s where a man bought him a meal.

Police reviewed surveillance video that shows the child inside the McDonald’s and a man in a ball cap paying for both their lunches, Police then say the man and Zander left at similar times.

However, police says right now it does not appear to be a kidnapping, so no Amber Alert has been issued.

Detectives say after having a conversation with a clerk who saw both the boy and the man, it did not make it sound like Zander was forced to do anything he was uncomfortable with and told officers the boy just seemed hungry.

If you see Zander or know any information about the man seen with him at McDonald’s, call 911 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

UPDATE I: Reporter Finds Two Missing Boys While Covering Their Disappearance.

An amazing thing happened to Shawn Annarelli, a reporter for the Centre Daily Times who was covering the story of the missing boys, he not only found himself covering the story of the missing boys, he found the two missing boys.  FANTASTIC JOB!!! This is what happens when the MSM decides to do investigative journalism and not just lazily report on a story and go through the motions. It is not very often we make a member of the media, the hero of the week, however, Shawn Annarelli certainly deserves it. A JOB WELL DONE SIR!!!

Centre Daily Times reporter Shawn Annarelli was reporting on two missing brothers, aged seven and nine, who were supposed to board a school bus in Boalsburg on Tuesday morning but never showed up for class.

While covering the story, he set out to find a police officer to chat with, he told INSIDE EDITION.

“I was about 15 yards away from the rest of the media. I was going to talk to a police officer… when I hear two voices and see some rustling leafs,” he said.

Annarelli decided to follow the sounds and movement into the wooded area near the search party.

“I said to myself ‘What if? What if they’re right there?’” he recalled. “I made my way down (a) little path and after I turned one of these tiny little bends, I see two kids crouching down as far as they could and two full backpacks sticking up. I thought ‘Sweet! I got them!’ and then I thought ‘Oh no, I got them.”
