Family of Kidnapper James Lee DiMaggio Wants DNA Sample from Hannah Anderson for Paternity Test … Was Uncle Jim, Dad?
Could this story get any more strange …
The New York Post is reporting that the family of deceased kidnapper and murderer, James Lee Dimaggio want a DNA sample from abduction victim Hannah Anderson for a paternity test. After learning that DiMaggio left his life insurance benefits to the family of Hannah Anderson, her grandmother. James Lee DiMaggio’s sister wants to know if her brother is the father of the California teen. She is requesting DNA from Hannah and murdered 8 year old Ethan Anderson. YIKES!

Relatives of James Lee DiMaggio want to know if he’s the real father of Hannah Anderson, the 16-year-old he’s accused of kidnapping after killing her mother and younger brother.
The family requested DNA samples from Hannah and 8-year-old brother Ethan for a paternity test after learning DiMaggio left a $112,000 life insurance benefit to the kids’ grandmother.
“He expected the grandmother to take care of the two children with the money,” family spokesman Andrew Spanswick told San Diego 10. “He stated he did not want it to go to their parents because they were having marital problems and he didn’t trust them with the money on their own.”
“We are requesting DNA samples from Hannah and anything they can get from Ethan,” Spanswick told the station. “There are rumors Jim was the children’s real father. The parents didn’t marry until 2002. We think it’s strange he left them so much money with no explanation.”
Could this story get any more strange? It began with the some what different relationship between James Lee DiMaggio and the Anderson family. Then the twisted double murder of 8 year old Ethan Anderson and his mom, 44 year old Christina Anderson, who were both found in DiMaggio’s burned down home. He then abducts Hannah Anderson, where we later learn from one of her friends that he had a crush on her or at least more than a passing interest. Then kidnapping and murder suspect DiMaggio is killed and Hannah is found safe and unharmed. There was no reports as to what happened to Hannah during her abduction and the police said she was a victim. However, we would then learn as reported at CNN that letters from Hannah Anderson were found in the home of James DiMaggio. Letters? Why would he have letters from Hannah?
A handwritten note, handcuff box, camping equipment and a DNA swab kit were among the items found by San Diego deputies in the burned home and garage of James DiMaggio.
DiMaggio was shot and killed by FBI agents in Idaho after allegedly kidnapping Hannah Anderson,16, this month.
The list of items is included in a search warrant and affidavits CNN affiliate KFMB obtained.

Missing 16 Year Old Hannah Anderson Found Safe in Idaho … Murderer & Kidnapping Suspect James Lee DiMaggio Shot Dead by FBI (Video of News Confernce)
The man hunt is over for 40 year old James Lee DiMaggio …
James Lee DiMaggio has been shot dead by the FBI. Also, 16 year old Hannah Anderson who has been missing since August 3, 2013 has been found safe. DiMaggio was killed not far from the remote Idaho location where a group of horseback riders had seen him and Hannah earlier in the week. Authorities have declined to say just exactly how DiMaggio was killed. The teenager was rescued near Morehead Lake, Idaho, where an FBI tactical agent killed her alleged kidnapper. This was the best possible outcome that could have come from this bizarre abduction. Hannah Anderson has been taken to the hospital for observation. DiMaggio, is was the prime suspect in the murder of both 44 year old Christina Anderson and 8 year old Ethan Anderson.
James Lee DiMaggio is Dead, Dead!!!
This is most likely the best outcome that could have resulted from this bizarre abduction. Once DiMaggio had killed both Christina and Ethan Anderson, there was no way he was likely going to be taken alive. The real issue was whether Hannah Anderson would be found unharmed. Thankfully, in the end she was.
16 year old Hannah Anderson found safe!!!
The man accused of kidnapping 16-year-old Hannah Anderson was killed in the Idaho wilderness Saturday, but the teen was found safe and “appears to be in pretty good shape,” San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore said.
Gore said the suspect, James Lee DiMaggio, was shot by the FBI.
“Obviously we would have liked Mr. DiMaggio to surrender and face justice in a court of law, but that was not the case,” Gore said. Hannah will be “thoroughly evaluated” at a hospital before detectives talk to her, he said.
Hannah’s father, Brett Anderson, was notified this afternoon and was “very relieved,” Gore said at a press conference in San Diego. Plans are in progress to reunite him with his daughter Sunday. She was taken to a hospital for observation.

UPDATE I: Abducted teen found safe; alleged kidnapper killed by law enforcement.
Hannah Anderson has been found alive east of Cascade and is safe, according the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore said James DiMaggio, the man believed to have killed her mother and brother and kidnapped Hannah, has been killed.
DiMaggio’s campsite was spotted from the air, then ground units were sent into the area, Gore said in an evening press conference in California. An FBI agent killed DiMaggio at the north end of Morehead Lake; the details of the confrontation have not yet been provided. Hannah is “in pretty good shape,” Gore said, and will likely be reunited Sunday with her father, who is headed to Idaho.
A press conference is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Cascade. We’ll provide further updates as they are available.

Child’s Remains at DiMaggio’s Burned Home ID’d as 8 Year Old Ethan Anderson, Declared Deceased … Search Continues for James DiMaggio and Missing 16 Year Old Hannah Anderson
Speculation is over … Ethan Anderson dead, ID’d as second victim in burned out DiMaggio home.
The remains of the second victim at James DiMaggio’s burned down home, previously described as that of a child, have been positively identified as 8 year old Ethan Anderson. The body had been too badly burned for initial identification. It was a DNA analysis of bone marrow that confirmed the ID. It was widely speculated that the unidentified second victim, along with the mother Christina Anderson, in the burned rubble was that of Ethan. Earlier in the investigation the father of the missing children had put forth a plea to James DiMaggio and only referenced to let his daughter Hannah go. It was the opinion of many at that point that 8 year old Ethan might have already been dead. Sadly, he was. Rest in peace Ethan Anderson.
Remains ID’d as Ethan Anderson … RIP
The remains found in the burned-out house of fugitive James DiMaggio are those of 8-year-old Ethan Anderson, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
The body of Ethan’s mother, Christina Anderson, had been identified earlier as a second victim of the house fire.
There was a likelihood from the beginning that one of the remains found in the house were Ethan, but it took a DNA analysis of bone marrow to confirm it.
The manhunt continues for the double murder and kidnapping suspect James DiMaggio and search for 16 year old Hannah Anderson.

Man Hunt for Kidnapping & Murder Suspect James DiMaggio May be Armed and Car Rigged with Improvised Explosives & Home Made Bombs … Search Continues for Missing 16 year old Hannah Anderson & her 8 year old Brother Ethan
The man hunt continues for kidnapping and murder suspect, 40 year old James Lee DiMaggio, who is accused of abducting 16 year old Hannah Anderson and her 8 year old brother Ethan. DiMaggio is already the prime suspect in the murder of Christina Anderson, the mother of missing Hannah and Ethan. She was found dead in the burned out home of DiMaggio. Her death has been ruled a homicide. An AMBER ALERT was initially issued for the two missing children on August 8, 2013 in So Cal. However, the Amber Alerts have been since expanded to Oregon, Washington and Nevada. DiMaggio could be headed to Canada or Texas to enter Mexico. In other words, he could be any where.
Authorities are now warning the public that James Lee DiMaggio could be armed and dangerous and not to approach him on your own. DiMaggio could be armed with improvised explosives and home made bombs. He may have also rigged his vehicle, 2013 blue Nissan Versa with the California license plate 6WCU986, with bombs.
Kidnapping and murder suspect James DiMaggio, sought in a national manhunt, may be armed with improvised explosives or may have rigged his car with them, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jan Caldwell said Thursday.
“Working on the theory that he abandoned the car, we think there is a possibility that the car might be rigged,” Caldwell said. “So we want to put out there for civilian safety, for officer safety, if you see the car, do not approach it but call law enforcement.”
Authorities made the announcement as they search for DiMaggio, who is suspected of abducting as many as two children after killing their mother in a fire. On Wednesday night, Nevada became the fourth state to issue an Amber Alert for the suspected child kidnapper. California, Oregon and Washington also issued the high alert.
DiMaggio enjoyed camping and hiking, so “there is a possibility he could be hunkered down somewhere in a rural area — not just in southern California but anywhere up and down the state, the Northwest, Canada and down in Mexico,” Caldwell said.
If anyone has any information regarding missing Hannah Anderson and Ethan Anderson, please call the San Diego Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200.

Friend Says Suspected Abductor James Lee DiMaggio had a Crush on Missing 16 Year Old Hannah Anderson .. Amber Alerts Issued in Oregon and Washington, Also Nevada (Update: Hannah Anderson Found Safe, DiMaggio Dead)
We may be seeing a motive for the kidnapping of 16 year old Hannah Anderson …
According to the 15 year old friend of missing 16 year old Hannah Anderson, Marissa Chavez said that James Lee DiMaggio had told Hannah Anderson he had a crush on her. DiMaggio had also said that he would date Hannah Anderson, f they were the same age. Chavez went on to say that, “She was a little creeped out by it. She didn’t want to be alone with him.” An Amber Alert was issued for Hannah Anderson and her brother Ethan when they went missing on August 3, 2013. The two children are believed to have been abducted by 40 year old James Lee.
The missing missing children’s mother, 44 year old Christina Anderson, was found dead inside a burning home owned by Dimaggio on Sunday night. An unidentified child was also found in the burned out home. So far authorities have said they have been unable to determine who the child is or the sex of the child.
Hannah Anderson is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes with a belly button ring, nose stud, and pierced ears.
A man suspected of abducting a 16-year-old girl told her he had a crush on her and would date her if they were the same age, a friend of the girl said Wednesday as police searched for the man who is also wanted in the death of the girl’s mother and possibly her 8-year-old brother.
James Lee DiMaggio explained that he didn’t want the girls to think he was weird in an effort to defend himself after noticing they exchanged glances, 15-year-old Marissa Chavez said. She said he spoke while driving them home from a high school gymnastics meet a couple months ago.
Hannah Anderson asked Chavez to join her from then on whenever DiMaggio, 40, drove her to meets.
Amber Alerts were also issued in Oregon an Washington. Also Amber Alert issued in Nevada.
So what could have caused James Lee DiMaggio to finally snap and do the unthinkable? Maybe it was because he was leaving and moving to Texas.
Christina Anderson’s father, Christopher Saincome, said Wednesday that his daughter visited DiMaggio’s home last weekend to say goodbye before he moved to Texas. DiMaggio, who works as a telecommunications technician at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, was a regular presence at the Anderson family apartment in Lakeside, a suburb of 54,000 people.
“He must have had this planned,” Saincome said.
We kind of knew that this kidnapping case was headed in this direction when it was first reported that suspected abductor James Lee DiMaggio had a platonic relationship with the mother who was found dead in the suspects burned out home. It was determined that 44 year old Christina Anderson was murdered. The body of a child was also found in the burned out rubble; however, it is widely suspected that the body is that of 8 year old missing Ethan Anderson. James Lee DiMaggio was a long time family friend and considered uncle Jim. The subliminal message from the father asking only for Hannah’s return and for her to run if she has the chance was also telling. So if DiMaggio had killed the mother and son and abducted Hannah, it was some what obvious the fixation was on her.
