17 year old Nicholas Joy of Medford, Massachusetts has been missing since Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2013 when he failed to meet up with his father during a family ski outing at Sugarloaf mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. The Sugarloaf ski patrol, game wardens and others searched in-bounds and out-of-bounds areas on skis, snowshoes and snowmobiles. Temperatures on Sunday night were relatively warm, dropping into the mid-20s with light snow falling. According to news accounts, Joy skied with his father, Robert, in the morning and was last seen near the Timberline chairlift that reaches the top of the mountain. Maine Warden Service said Joy and his father were on their last run of the day when he disappeared. They split up at the top of the mountain and were supposed to meet back up at their car. The Sugarloaf ski patrol, game wardens and others searched in-bounds and out-of-bounds areas on skis, snowshoes and snowmobiles late Sunday afternoon and into the night before the search was suspended at 1 a.m. Monday because of poor visibility.
The search resumed at first light and continued until dark, when the search was suspended until morning, said Rafferty. The Warden Service did not use a plane during the search because of windy conditions.

Jamie Neal and Garrett Hand Go Missing While on Trip in Peru, Have Not Been Heard From Since January 25, 2013 (Update: Found Safe)
US State Department American joins in the search for the missing San Francisco couple in Peru.
Jamie Neal and her boyfriend Garrett Hand departed the United States in December for an biking adventure through South America. Their biking expedition was to take them through Argentina, Chile and Peru, as the couple chronicled their travels on Facebook. However, the two were last heard from on January 25, 2013. Jamie’s last communication with her sister Jennifer was on the 25th , in a Facebook post. Jamie Neal had posted numerous pictures along the way during the couples trip; however, they have suddenly stopped. Another alarming set of events is that Garrett’s cell phone simply goes to a recording.
KTVU reports, that the couple was last seen on January 26 taking a bus from Cusco to Lima and then getting in a cab. What is most amazing is the following from the KTVU article, “Although miles away from home, they were never more than a computer away from family and friends.” If that is what these two Americans thought or anything, past, present and future, you are delusional. Trust me from experience, when you are on such a vacation, you are all alone, by yourself. All the internet or cell phone does is chronicle your demise and potential last place you were at because by the time help comes, it is most likely going to be far too late.
Cycle enthusiasts Garrett Hand and Jamie Neal left the Bay Area in November for an adventure of a lifetime, a bike trek through South America. Although miles away from home, they were never more than a computer away from family and friends. The couple chronicled their travels on Facebook, but the photos and status updates stopped Jan. 25. “It’s upsetting, I’m worried about both of them,” said Jeff Jerge, owner of Pedaler Bike Shop.
FACEBOOK: American Citizen Services – U.S. Embassy Lima, Peru. The U.S. State Department has made a poster of Neal and Hand, while the U.S. Embassy in Peru’s website posted a travel warning for Americans.
February 13, 2013 The U.S. Embassy warns U.S. citizens of a potential kidnapping threat in the Cusco area. The Embassy has received information that members of a criminal organization may be planning to kidnap U.S. citizen tourists in the Cusco and Machu Picchu area. Possible targets and methods are not known and the threat is credible at least through the end of February 2013. For the moment, personal travel by U.S. Embassy personnel to the Cusco region, including Machu Picchu, has been prohibited and official travel is severely restricted as a result of this threat.

UPDATE I: US: Kidnap threat for travelers to Machu Picchu
A U.S. Embassy warning to U.S. tourists of a potential kidnapping threat in the Cuzco region, including the famed Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, drew vehement objections from Peruvian officials Friday. But a U.S. Embassy official said credible evidence exists of a threat from a Peruvian terrorist group. The official confirmed a report in the Peruvian newspaper La Republica that said leaders of the cocaine-financed Shining Path outlaw band discussed kidnapping foreigners, principally Americans, in intercepted communications. Tens of thousands of Americans visit Peru each year.
UPDATE II: Jamie Neal and Garrett Hand Found Safe.
Jamie Neal and Garrett Hand have been found save traveling along the Navos River. They stated that they did not even know their families were looking for them. First let me state, I am glad they have been found safe and there was never any incident. That being said, are you serious! They kept in contact while traveling alone throughout South America on their biking trip constantly posting on Facebook, then go silent and out of contact for a month and they don’t think anyone is concerned or worried? REALLY? How would one not think that people are concerned that they have not heard from you in a month? This speaks volumes, doesn’t it.
A California couple thought to be missing for a month during a trip to Peru have been located aboard a boat – and they didn’t even know their families had been looking for them.
Jamie Neal, 25, and Garrett Hand, 27, from California’s Bay Area, left for Peru in December for a South America bike trip, and had not been in contact with friends and relatives since late January.
The couple was found on a boat that was traveling along the Navos River.

17 Year Old Luanelly “Nelly” Rodriguez Missing Since 2/22/13 in Watertown, CT … Belived to Have been Kidnapped (Update: Found Safe)
Missing: Luanelly “Nelly” Rodriguez
17 year old Luanelly “Nelly” Rodriguez has been missing since Friday, February 22, 2013 in Watertown, CT. She was last reported seen 2:30 p.m. when she left to go for a walk. According to a press release from the Watertown Police Department, shortly after leaving for her walk, Rodriguez texted her aunt, asking for help. According to accounts, “Nelly had then stated that a white male and a female, unknown to her, had taken her into the vehicle.” Watertown police also stated that aunt received several follow-up messages from Rodriguez’s phone; however, they were not sent by “Nelly” Rodriguez, but an unknown third party. The text messages claimed that they had Rodriguez in their custody. For some reason family members believe that Rodriguez may be headed to Massachusetts. That bit of information is a bit curious. How would the family know that her daughter and the kidnappers be headed to Massachusetts if the adductors are unknown?
Luanelly “Nelly” Rodriguez Description:
Rodriguez, 17, is a Hispanic female who is approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her last sighting, Rodriguez was wearing black spandex pants, khaki boots, white and leopard print shirt and a black coat with silver lines on it. Rodriguez also has a red heart tattoo under her left eye.
If anyone has any information on Rodriguez’s whereabouts is asked to call the Watertown Police Department immediately at 860-945-5200.
UPDATE I: Luanelly “Nelly” Rodriguez was found on Saturday safe. As stated above, it was a bit fishy that the family had suspected that she was being taken to Massachusetts, yet it was stated she was abducted. One would expect the police to follow up on this saying that she had never been kidnapped.
Police wouldn’t say at 1 p.m. Saturday whether she had actually been kidnapped. More information is expected this evening.

Missing 5 Year Old Johnnathen Eldon Johnson Found Injured, but Alive After Father Jeremiah Johnson Has High Speed Crash into Police Car at 130 MPH in Iowa
The bizarre and miraculous turn of events in the case of missing 5 year old Johnnathen Eldon Johnson.
A 5 year old boy was found injured in a vehicle following a high speed chase with police in Iowa. 33 year old Jeremiah Johnson led officers on a high speed chase early Friday that began in Clive when an officer tried to pull him over. It ended in Indianola when the car Johnson was driving slammed into a parked, unoccupied police cruiser at an estimated 130 mph. Miraculously, 5 ear old Johnnathen Eldon Johnson survived the crash. But that is hardly the end of the story. Johnnathen Eldon Johnson had been reported missing by his mother April Lozano in November 2012. Johnson had been involved in a lengthy custody battled over the boy, was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was found injured behind the driver’s seat under a pile of clothes, but alive.
Authorities say a 5-year-old boy injured in a crash following a high-speed chase had been reported missing by his mother.
Police say 33-year-old Jeremiah Johnson led officers on a high-speed chase early Friday that began in Clive when an officer tried to pull him over.
The Iowa State Patrol took over and followed the car into Indianola. The Des Moines Register says it was there that the car slammed into a parked, unoccupied police cruiser at an estimated 130 mph.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was found on the back seat floor and taken to a hospital in critical condition.
MIRACLE: AMAZING HIGH SPEED CAR CRASH AT 130 MPH … 5 YEAR OLD MISSING JOHNNATHEN ELDON JOHNSON SURVIVED
Johnnathen Eldon Johnson has been reported missing on November 5, 2012 when his mother April Lozano who filed a missing persons report with Des Moines police, and told detectives Jeremiah Johnson was possibly suicidal and possibly homicidal toward Johnnathen. April Lozano has been given full custody of the child in July after a long and bitter custody dispute. Lozano’s depiction of Jeremiah Johnson being suicidal and possibly homicidal toward Johnnathen seemed to be a premonition.
Johnson had been involved in a custody dispute over Johnnathen with the child’s mother, April Lozano, for several months and was wanted for fleeing from police last month in Georgia.
Lozano had been given full custody of Johnnathen in July, but Johnson never gave her the child, said Sgt. Jason Halifax, a Des Moines police spokesman.
On Nov. 5, Lozano filed a missing persons report with Des Moines police, and told detectives Johnson was possibly suicidal and possibly homicidal toward Johnnathen, Halifax said.
The custody fight was a civil matter, not a criminal issue, so until Johnson ran from police last month, he would not have been arrested for having the child, Halifax said.
