9 Month Old Savanna Catherine Todd Missing Since 1994 from Isle of Palms, SC Has Been Found in Australia … 53 Year Old Dorothy Lee Barnett Charged With International Parental Kidnapping

Unbelievable … 9 month old baby missing since 1994 found in Australia nearly 20 years later …

Savanna Catherine Todd, who was kidnapped by her mother in 1994 in South Carolina after she failed to returned her to the girl’s father after a supervised visit in April 1994, has been found alive in Australia. The daughter, now 20, as reported by the Sidney Morning Herald was “safe, healthy and otherwise living a normal life.” Savanna’s father, Benjamin Harris Todd III of Charleston, was granted custody following the couple’s February 1994 divorce. Since being taken out of the United States, Savanna’s name was changed to Samantha. Dorothy Lee Barnett was arrested in Australia on November  4, 2013 and charged with one count of International parental kidnapping and making false statements to attain a passport. Barnett was denied bond and is expected to be extradited to the US. Barnett faces up to 23 years in prison if convicted.

A girl missing since 1994 has been found and an indictment has been unsealed against the girl’s mother.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 53-year-old Dorothy Lee Barnett, of Queensland, Australia, has been charged with one count of international parental kidnapping and two statements of false statement in a passport application.

Barnett used to live on Isle of Palms.

Attorneys say Barnett is charged with keeping her infant child,  Savanna Catherine Todd, outside of the United States in an effort to keep her ex-husband from having any access.

According to the indictment, Todd was removed from the country when she was 10 months old. She was kept outside of the country until May 2009, the attorney’s office continued.

U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said Todd, now an adult, was found safe and living an otherwise normal and healthy life.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation didn’t give up either … Agents alleged that they came across evidence that Barnett tried using an alias a decade ago to get an American passport.

Savanna’s picture was posted on websites. Artists created images depicting what she might look like today.

During her alleged time on the lam, Barnett used aliases such as Alexandria Maria Canton, federal authorities said, to evade detection.

Citing court papers, The Australian reported that she got married in 1995 to Juan Geldenhuys in South Africa. She gave birth to a son.

Once in March 2003 and again in March 2004, Barnett used her new name, Alexandria Maria Geldenhuys, to attempt to get a U.S. passport, according to the indictment against her.

She and her new husband later became citizens of New Zealand, then moved to Australia in 2007, The Australian reported. Her husband later left Barnett and died of cancer.

Kathryn left for school around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. She had texted a friend she’d ride her bike because she missed the bus. Kathryn never made it to school, and her mother flagged down a deputy when she never made it home that afternoon. She hasn’t been heard from since.

“Kathryn is not an individual that has a history of running away,” says Severson. “Her family has a good, close relationship with her, she maintains contact.”

Kathryn’s family didn’t want to comment, but wanted us to show you the pictures so you can keep your eyes peeled. She may be wearing jeans, a sweatshirt, pink Nikes, and a teal backpack. Any information is good information, as the clock ticks to get Kathryn back.

UPDATE I: Bicycle recovered, search continues for missing Genesee girl.

The teal bicycle of missing Kathryn Stalbaum was located because of a citizen tip according to authorities at a news conference on Thursday. Authorities have not disclosed the location of the bicycle due to the on going investigation.

On Thursday, Waukesha County authorities found her teal bicycle. Although investigators did not disclose where the bicycle was found, Sheriff’s Inspector Eric Severson said there were “no immediate signs of foul play.”

Connie McCallister Missing Since 2004 at Age 16 From Wausau, WI Found Alive in Mexico

16 year old Connie McCallister went missing from Wausau, WI on August 15, 2004. McCallister went missing with her boyfriend, a then 22 year old man who is wanted on charges of first degree sexual assault involving an unrelated victim. Nine years later she has been found in Mexico. According to reports, Connie McCallister was able to get away from the boyfriend, who had drugged and repeatedly beaten her. It would appear that her next boyfriend was not much better and was the same type of person as the first. Officials with the U.S. Consulate are working with McCallister to gather the required documents and identification records necessary for McCallister and her children to return home.

A Wausau woman who was 16 when she disappeared more than nine years ago has been found living in Mexico.

Connie McCallister, now 25, disappeared with her then 22-year-old boyfriend on Aug. 15, 2004, when she was an honor-roll student at Athens High School, according to Daily Herald Media .

“I never gave up any hope of her,” said her aunt Florence Volzka, 56, of Medford, said Wednesday by phone. “I always thought she would find a way home. She is very close knit with the family.”

Volzka said she first spoke with her in September through Skype and she looks the same, but with longer hair.

“I cried for an hour,” she said.

She said McCallister told her the boyfriend drugged her in 2004 and took her to Mexico, where he was from. At one point, she was badly beaten and treated at a hospital, where someone helped her get a new identity, she said. Afterward, it was difficult for her to get word to family, because she didn’t know Spanish, she said.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children displayed McCallister’s name and photo on its website until three months ago.

That’s when a church missionary who met McCallister and learned she was a missing person contacted officials at the national organization and said McCallister, who now has three young children, was safe and wanted to come home.
