32 Year Old Actress Misty Upham Reported Missing on 10/6/14 in Auburn, WA (Update: Misty Upham Confirmed Dead: Family ID Body)
32 year old actress Misty Upham was reported missing by her father on Monday, October 6, 2014. Upton was last seen leaving her sister’s apartment in Muckleshoot, Washington on Sunday. The Blackfeet actress best known for her roles in “August: Osage County” and “Frozen River,” has been confirmed missing by Washington state police. According to the Auburn Police Department, they received a call with a report of a suicidal person at her parents’ apartment, but when officers responded they were told the suicidal person had already left.
“Our officers responded to her apartment where she lives with her parents on Sunday for a suicidal call,” Commander Steve Stocker tells PEOPLE. “When our officers got there, she had already packed up some belongings and left the apartment, so the officers were not able to contact or find her.”
The following day, Upham’s father, Charles, wanted his daughter listed officially as a missing person. However, Upham does not fit the criteria for a “missing and endangered person,” per Washington state law, in which the person’s missing occurrence has to be “unexplainable, involuntary or suspicious,” according to Stocker.
“As far as the information we have, she took some things with her, she has a bus pass and even access to some money, and [the case] has been assigned to a detective, but we aren’t putting resources [to look for her],” says Stocker.
In the last year, police have responded to Upham’s apartment four times for suicide calls, and according to past police reports, this is not the first time Upham has left home, Stocker says.
If you have any information regarding Misty Upham’s whereabouts, please contact Washington’s Auburn Police Department at 253-288-2121.
