26 Year Old Army Reserve Officer Deshauna Barber Crowned Miss USA 2016

26 year old Army Reserve officer Deshauna Barber from the District of Columbia was crowned last night … Miss USA 2016

An Army Reserve officer and IT analyst from the District of Columbia has been crowned Miss USA 2016 after mounting a strong defense of women in combat roles in the military.

Deshauna Barber, a 26-year-old from the nation’s capital, gave the answer during the interview section of the pageant in Las Vegas on Sunday.

When asked by judge Joe Zee whether the Pentagon’s decision to open up all combat roles to women had “put political correctness over our military’s ability to perform,” 1st Lt. Barber responded:

“As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military.”
She continued: “We are just as tough as men. As a commander of my unit, I’m powerful, I am dedicated and it is important that we recognize that gender does not limit us in the United States.”

Memorial Day – 2016: Remembering, Thanking & Honoring Our Military Heroes For Their Service & Sacrifice

REMEMBERING AND HONORING OUR MILITARY HEROES WHO GAVE ALL … BECAUSE FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE AND HONOR IS FOREVER.

memorial_day3

On this Memorial Day 2016, Scared Monkeys sends a special thank you to all of the military men, woman and their families who made the ultimate sacrificed so that We, the United States of America, could remain the home of the free because of the brave. We thank those who gave their lives in the name of liberty and freedom from the bottom of our hearts. We can no longer than them in person, but we can honor their sacrifices to this great Country. Thank you and God Bless you, we shall never forget you your service and sacrifice. Please take time today to remember what this day is truly about and the men and women that we have lost.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13 – King James Version)

Every year I take a moment and a personal note to honor and say thank you to a man who I miss so much, my uncle Red, who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. My uncle served in Patton’s 3rd Army where he received the following medals. a silver star. bronze star and multiple purple hearts. He was one of the true humble heroes of WWII and our Greatest generation. God Bless you all.

I can remember like it was yesterday, but in fact it was more than 25 years ago, when I stood in Arlington National Cemetery for the funeral of my Uncle and namesake. I can remember the sound of Taps and the 21 gun salute as tears flowed down my face as I laid to rest my hero. A man that gave so much for his country and for me. A man who was the toughest and most honorable, proud and yet humble man I have ever known. By all accounts he should have died in the Ardennes forest during WWII, but God had other plans. However, in many respects he did lose all as he came home forever changed. My uncle volunteered for WWII at age 18, although, when I review the records he was actually 17. He, like 5 of his brothers, took part in WWII. However, my Uncle Red saw the most action in Patton’s 3rd Army. Much of what he witnessed, he took to his grave as he lost so many Brothers in Arms. When he came home some 4 years later after having defeated the Nazis, his own mom, my grandmother, did not recognize him.

The words of President Ronald Reagan, Arlington National Cemetery, May 31, 1982:

“The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper. Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we — in a less final, less heroic way — be willing to give of ourselves.” [...]

“As we honor their memory today, let us pledge that their lives, their sacrifices, their valor shall be justified and remembered for as long as God gives life to this nation. And let us also pledge to do our utmost to carry out what must have been their wish: that no other generation of young men will every have to share their experiences and repeat their sacrifice.”

Thank you to the men and woman who have died to make us free. We can thank you best by honoring your sacrifices to defeat tyranny, socialism, Communism and Nazism by continuing to do so the same today.

United States Military Troops Prefer Donald Trump to Clinton By a “HUGE” Margin

US ACTIVE MILITARY PREFERS TRUMP OVER HILLARY BY 2 TO 1 MARGIN …

In a new poll of active American military personnel, Donald Trump leads by a wide margin to become the next Commander in Chief. The survey of active-duty service members chose Trump over Clinton by a 54% to 25% margin. In fact, self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders, who has no chance of winning the Democrat primary because of a rigged establishment super delegate process, does better than Clinton in this poll. Interestingly enough as the Daily Caller points out, criticism from the GOP foreign policy establishment pointing out Trump’s inexperience in the field has done little to dissuade active-duty service members from throwing their support behind the real estate tycoon.

In a new survey of American military personnel, Donald Trump emerged as active-duty service members’ preference to become the next U.S. president, topping Hillary Clinton by more than a 2-to-1 margin. However, in the latest Military Times election survey, more than one in five troops said they’d rather not vote in November if they have to choose between just those two candidates.

But given only those choices, 21 percent of the service members surveyed said they would abstain from voting. More than 54 percent of the 951 troops Military Times surveyed said they would vote for Trump, the presumed Republican presidential nominee, over Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Only about 25 percent said they would vote for Clinton in that matchup.

Democrats overwhelmingly favored Clinton (72 percent to 8 percent) and Republicans overwhelmingly supported Trump (82 percent to 6 percent). Troops who identified as independents slightly favored Trump, by a 40 percent to 32 percent margin.

Female troops favored Clinton over Trump, by a 51 percent to 24 percent margin. Male troops backed Trump over Clinton 57 percent to 22 percent.

Officers were more likely to back Clinton, though still said they’d vote for Trump by a 46 percent to 32 percent tally. Enlisted respondents broke 58 percent to 21 percent for Trump.

Sgt.Bowe Bergdahl to Face Court-Martial for Desertion … Faces Possible Life Sentence

THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES TO TRAITORS ACTIONS …

It would appear that the U.S. military is taking the Sgt.Bowe Bergdahl very seriously and has ordered Bergdahl face a court-martial Bergdahl is charged with desertion and endangering troops. Pretty amazing, seeing that the Obama administration hailed Bergdahl with praises of honor and distinction when he was freed. Of course what would you expect from this ‘Alice in Wonderland’ president. In May 2014 Barack Obama swapped Sergeant Bergdahl for five Taliban detainees who were being held at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Brilliant.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl Credit U.S. Army

A top Army commander on Monday ordered that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl face a court-martial on charges of desertion and endangering troops stemming from his decision to leave his outpost in 2009, a move that prompted a huge manhunt in the wilds of eastern Afghanistan and landed him in nearly five years of harsh Taliban captivity.

The decision by Gen. Robert B. Abrams, head of Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, N.C., means that Sergeant Bergdahl, 29, faces a possible life sentence. That is a far more serious penalty than had been recommended by the Army’s investigating officer, who testified at the sergeant’s preliminary hearing in September that prison would be “inappropriate.”

According to Sergeant Bergdahl’s defense lawyers, the Army lawyer who presided over the preliminary hearing also recommended that he face neither jail time nor a punitive discharge and that he go before an intermediate tribunal known as a “special court-martial,” where the most severe penalty possible would be a year of confinement.

Monday’s decision rejecting that recommendation means that Sergeant Bergdahl now faces a maximum five-year penalty if ultimately convicted by a military jury of desertion, as well as potential life imprisonment on the more serious charge of misbehavior before the enemy, which in this case means endangering the troops who were sent to search for him after he disappeared.

Pearl Harbor Day 2015 … December 7th, 1941, A Date That Will Forever Live in Infamy

Pearl Harbor Day 2015 …  December 7th, 1941, a Date That Will forever Live in Infamy …

Pearl Harbor

Always remember, never forget … Today marks the 74th anniversary of the day the United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked the Empire of Japan and the United States would never be the same. So many lives lost at the hands of such a cowardly act. It was a time of innocence lost; however, Americans would strike back against their foreign aggressors and save the world from tyranny. We remember those brave men and women that died that fateful day. So many lives affected by that single heinous act; however, as history would record, Japan awoke a sleeping giant. That reprehensible, treacherous act unified a country and in fact awoke a sleeping giant that provided the resolve to win a war against the evil Axis.

God Bless the heroism of Our Greatest Generation!

FDR’s Pearl Harbor speech:

Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 – a date which will live in infamy – the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with the government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.

Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleagues delivered to the Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time, the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

The Bombing of Pearl Harbor

Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya. Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong. Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam. Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands. Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island. This morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.

Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces – with the unbounded determination of our people – we will gain the inevitable triumph – so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December seventh, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.”

Thank you to our Greatest Generation!!!
