Warren Buffett’s Annual Letter Says Berkshire Hathaway Received $29 Billion From New GOP-Trump Tax Code

BUFFET FOR AGAINST IT, BEFORE HE WAS FOR IT …

Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, stated in his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway investors that Berkshire Hathaway (BRKB) made a $65.3 billion net gain in 2017, but only $36 billion came from Berkshire’s operations and his brilliance. The other $29 billion came from the Republican-Trump tax cuts. Namely, the reduction in corporate tax rates. Imagine that 55.4% of Berkshire’s net gains came from Buffet’s efforts while 44.6% came from Trump and the Republicans. This from the man who backed Hillary Clinton and condemned the Trump policies on taxes. Oops, looks like the so-called Wizard of Omaha got that one 100% wrong. Every right thinking person without a political bias knew Trump was going to be good for the economy. Even the likes of Warren Buffet were wrong and tainted by their liberal bias.

It would appear that Donald Trump trumped Buffett.

Buffett told investors that Berkshire Hathaway (BRKB)made a $65.3 billion net gain in 2017 — but “only $36 billion came from Berkshire’s operations.”

The rest was a gift from the new U.S. tax code.

“A large portion of our gain did not come from anything we accomplished at Berkshire,” he wrote, adding that about $29 billion of that $65.3 billion gain came from changes to the tax law.

Buffett went on to extol Berkshire’s investing methods. Careful decisions and an aversion to debt and speculation has gotten the firm this far — and that’s the course it’ll stay on, he said.

But remember when Warren Buffet was against the Trump Tax plan? I am certain the Berkshire Hathaway investors are glad Trump went against the wishes of the individual they put all their trust in with their investments. I wonder who the investors of Berkshire Hathaway feel that the individual in charge of their investments cared more about politics than he did his fiduciary responsibility to their monies?

President Donald Trump’s tax reform plan came under new criticism on Tuesday from two towering Wall Street figures, including billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who called into question a Republican drive to slash the U.S. corporate rate.

With the White House and top Republicans in Congress already on the defensive over claims the plan would not cut taxes for many middle-class Americans, Buffett and BlackRock Chief Executive Larry Fink suggested in separate interviews that the corporate rate may not have to be cut as deeply as proposed.

“We have a lot of businesses… I don’t think any of them are non-competitive in the world because of the corporate tax rate,” Buffett, thechairmanand CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, told CNBC.

The 4 page memo that summarizes the FBI and DOJ’s abuses relating to the Steele dossier, the Obama administration’s FISA applications, and improper spying on the Trump campaign by the Obama administration has been released by the House Intelligence Committee. The memo alleges the FBI/DOJ/Obama administration abusedFISA law to obtain warrants. Republicans have called the contents of the memo as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming.” As stated at Powerline, “You can also judge the memo’s contents from the remarks of arch-Democrat Adam Schiff: ‘Today this committee voted to put the president’s personal interests, perhaps their own political interests, above the Democratic Party’s national interests,’ the Democrat said.” So why doesn’t the Democrats, the LEFT and the liberal MSM want the contents of the memo open to the public? The lack of transparency on the part of the LEFT is telling and will be remembered come election time. Just how damning is it? The public will see soon and be able to make their own call. The truth needs to come out on this.

The House Intelligence Committee on Monday evening voted to release a classified memo circulating in Congress that purportedly reveals government surveillance abuses.

The vote was announced to reporters by California Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee, who called it a “very sad day, I think, in the history of this committee.” The motion passed on a party-line basis, he said.

President Trump now has five days to decide whether he has any objections before the memo can be publicly released.

Last week, a top Justice Department official urged House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes not to release the memo, saying it would be “extraordinarily reckless” and could harm national security and ongoing investigations.

The four-page memo has being described by GOP lawmakers as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming,” with one congressman likening the details to KGB activity in Russia.

The memo will not be immediately released, but could be at any time this week or next. Following the release of the memo, the document goes to President Trump, who has up to five days to review and reject or approve its publication. We have known for years that the MSM was liberal and bias; however, under the Trump presidency they have sunk to new low levels. This is not a matter of news stories that Trump did not like, these are false news stories just made up by the media. The liberal MSM just passes off opinion and their liberal agenda as fact. The #1 fake news story of 2017 was the preposterous one where the New York Times’ Paul Krugman claimed on the day of President Trump’s historic victory over Hillary Clinton that the economy would never recover. How ignorant and foolish could one possibly be?  Sorry Business Insider, if the news-media industry is in fact governed by a foundational set of ethical standards and doesn’t just write whatever they want to, then none of the stories below would have ever made public. 5. Washington Post FALSELY reported the President’s massive sold-out rally in Pensacola, Florida was empty. Dishonest reporter showed picture of empty arena HOURS before crowd started pouring in.
6. CNN FALSELY edited a video to make it appear President Trump defiantly overfed fish during a visit with the Japanese prime minister. Japanese prime minister actually led the way with the feeding.
7. CNN FALSELY reported about Anthony Scaramucci’s meeting with a Russian, but retracted it due to a “significant breakdown in process.”8. Newsweek FALSELY reported that Polish First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda did not shake President Trump’s hand.
8. CNN FALSELY reported that former FBI Director James Comey would dispute President Trump’s claim that he was told he is not under investigation.
9. The New York Times FALSELY claimed on the front page that the Trump administration had hidden a climate report.
10. And last, but not least: “RUSSIA COLLUSION!” Russian collusion is perhaps the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!

Why were 90% of news stories negative to President Donald Trump from the media? That hardly took place under 8 years of Obama. Where was the media on the incredibly accomplishments of the United States economy under President Trump like the economy creating nearly 2 million jobs and gained over $8 trillion in wealth since the President’s inauguration, African Americans and Hispanics enjoying the lowest unemployment rate in recorded history, the Trump tax cuts and relief for hardworking Americans, the corporate tax cuts that have provided bonuses and other benefits to over 2 million employees to date, Trump’s plan to cut regulations issuing 22 deregulatory actions for every one new regulatory action, the American energy boom by ending Obama-era regulations, approving the Keystone pipeline, auctioning off millions of new acres for energy exploration, and opening up ANWR, the threat of ISIS and their Caliphate being crushed in Iraq and Syria, and so many more.
