U.S. Retail Holiday Sales Jump 4.9%, Biggest Increase Since 2011
HO, HO, HO … DONALD TRUMP, MAKING HOLIDAY SHOPPING GREAT AGAIN …
As reported at USA Today, U.S. year-end holiday retail sales rose 4.9% compared to the same period last year. The shoppers were out in force this holiday season as sales rose 4.9% from November 1 through Christmas Eve, easily beating the 3.7% from last year. Online retail sales rose 18.1% in 2017. THE TRUMP EFFECT: The rise in sales figures reflect the near record high consumer confidence, a strong jobs market, near DOW 25 K, unemployment fell to a 17 year low in October and with the passage and signing of the Tax bill, look for the economy to get even better.
Despite thousands of store closings this year, Americans supplied a final flurry of spending to give retailers their best holiday season sales since 2011, figures released Tuesday show.
U.S. year-end holiday retail sales rose 4.9% compared to the same period last year, a welcome gift to U.S. retailers amid new signs of consumer confidence.
Online retail shopping similarly increased 18.1%, while overall consumer buying during the holiday period set a new record for dollars spent, according to the sales report issued by Mastercard SpendingPulse.
“Overall, this year was a big win for retail,” Sarah Quinlan, senior vice president of Market Insights, Mastercard, said in a statement issued with the report. “The strong U.S. economy was a contributing factor, but we also have to recognize that retailers who tried new strategies to engage holiday shoppers were the beneficiaries of this sales increase.”
Although the report showed the 2017 holiday shopping season from Nov. 1 to Dec. 24 was a winner for all retailers, the results differed by category. Retailers that succeeded tapped into:

Mark Levin Radio Show December 20, 2017 With Ben Shapiro Discussing Tax Bill Passing and Insane Democrat Reaction (VIDEO-AUDIO)
THIS IS A CLASSICS AND A MUST LISTEN TOO …
This was a big win for President Donald Trump and the Democrats are losing their minds.
Making America Great Again … Dow Jones Rises 5,000 Points in a Year for the First Time Ever
OF COURSE THE LIBERAL MSM, DEMOCRATS AND THE LEFT WILL TELL YOU TRUMP HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS …
President Donald Trump made the DOW great again. As reported at CNBC, the Dow Jones industrial average is up more than 5000 pints in one year. This is the first time in the 121-year history of the Dow that this has ever happened. Of course it is just coincidence that this occurred with Donald Trump as President. The Dow is currently at a record high and soon will be over 25,000 when the Tax bill is signed later today.
The Dow Jones industrial average just did something it has never done in its 121-year history.
The 30-stock average is now up more than 5,000 points in a year, marking its biggest annual-points gain ever. This following a 140-point rally Monday which sent it to an all-time high.
The Dow also notched a record close for the 70th time this year, which is another milestone. To put that into perspective, it means that about one of every four trading sessions this year has been a record close for the index.
The Dow, along with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq composite, has had a banner year, rising 25.5 percent. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq are up 20.2 percent and 29.9 percent, respectively.

Sen. John McCain,(R-AZ) Heads Back to Arizona … Will Miss Vote on GOP Tax Bill
IT IS TIME FOR JOHN MCCAIN TO RETIRE, SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY AND BATTLE CANCER …
Sen. John McCain is returning to Arizona and will miss the final vote on the GOP tax passage expected this week. McCain is recovering from the side effects from chemotherapy treatment for brain cancer. McCain is expected to return to Washington in January. There are a currently razor-thin margin needed to pass the tax bill; however, McCain’s presence will not likely be the determining factor in the vote. It appears that the votes from Bob Corker of Tennessee and Marco Rubio of Florida will make McCain’s vote not needed. I am sorry, Sen. McCain needs to retire and do the best thing for him, his family, his country and his Party. The man has brain cancer, things are not going to get better, they will get worse, much worse. Being a Senator is not a life-time appointment like the SCOTUS or Pope. If you can’t do the job required, anyone in politics needs to retire. The Senate is bigger than any one individual and its time that John McCain spend the remainder of his days with family and loved ones instead of holding a political party hostage wondering whether he can made a vote or not. Please Sen. McCain, do the right thing, be a hero again.
Republican Sen. John McCain returned home to Arizona after spending several days in a Maryland hospital recovering from side effects from chemotherapy treatment for brain cancer, CBS News has learned. He will spend the holidays with his family and will not be on hand for the final vote on the GOP tax passage expected this week. He’s expected to return to Washington in January.
Late Sunday, a dual statement from McCain’s doctor and his office described the senator’s current health situation.
In a statement citing Dr. Mark Gilbert, Chief of Neuro-Oncology at the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Cancer Institute, McCain “has responded well to treatment he received at Walter Reed Medical Center for a viral infection and continues to improve. An evaluation of his underlying cancer shows he is responding positively to ongoing treatment.”
In addition, McCain’s office said he will undergo more treatment at the Mayo Clinic:
“Senator McCain has returned to Arizona and will undergo physical therapy and rehabilitation at Mayo Clinic,” the statement read. “He is grateful for the excellent care he continues to receive, and appreciates the outpouring of support from people all over the country. He looks forward to returning to Washington in January.”

Democrat Doug Jones Defeats Republican Roy Moore in Alabama Special Election Senate Race
WHEN THE CARDS ARE ALL STACKED AGAINST YOU … THIS IS THE RESULT.
Fox News is reporting that Democrat Doug Jones has defeated Republican Roy Moore 49.9% to 48.4%. The onslaught from the liberal MSM, outside liberal money, a lack of support from establishment Republicans and the last minute accusations by women of alleged sexual assault more than 40 years ago was too much for any Republican, even in the deep South, to overcome. A deep RED state where Donald Trump won 63%-35% in 2016 … now finds itself with a liberal Democrat Senator. Nice job Mitch McConnell and the GOP.
As the liberal media cheers over their coup, I would ask the question, who thinks if the rolls were revered and last nights election was in say Massachusetts, New York, California, Vermont, Illinois or any other deep Blue Democrat states … would the Republican have won? I doubt it very much. By the way, Jones said he was a uniter, does that mean he is going to reach across the aisle and support Trump’s agenda? Let this be a reminder to the GOP in 2018, the Democrat party is snaky and not to be trusted. What they just did in Alabama, don’t let it happen in your state in 2018 or 2020. You have been warned.
Democrat Doug Jones has pulled off a major upset in Alabama by defeating Republican Roy Moore in Tuesday’s special election, becoming the first Democrat to win election to the Senate from the deeply conservative state in 25 years.
“We have come so far and the people of Alabama have spoken,” Jones said during a victory speech in Birmingham late Tuesday.
But in a late-night speech to supporters, Moore refused to concede. Moore told the crowd that when the “vote is this close…it’s not over.”
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Jones had 49.9 percent to Moore’s 48.4 percent.
Don’t let the liberal media, Democrats or even Senate-elect Doug Jones define the outcome of this special election that was unfortunately far more special and dirty than any election should ever be. The liberal and anti-Trump WAPO would have you believe that this was a referendum on President Trump and the GOP agenda. Really, Trump actually supported Luther Strange. ABC News would have you believe that the Democrat party is better off than the Republican party is in Alabama. Seriously?
Let’s cut through all the bullshit and call this for what it was … Doug Jones did not win the race, Roy Moore and Mitch McConnell lost it. In a special election where voter turnout was low, and especially low with Republicans who could not get beyond accusations were not proven facts, a Democrat won. Doug Jones’ liberal, far left policies are not representative of Alabama. Jones won because of the last minute sexual allegation from some 40 years ago and the MSM hammering that message hone every day. Even with that, with the LEFT, MSM, Democrats and establishment Republicans against him, Moore lost by just 1.5%. Fox News last called it at 10%, thanks guys.
Here is a prediction … Doug Jones will be a 2 year Senator as this seat is up for reelection in 2020. Jones is just filling out the remainder of Session’s term. In 2020 the Senate seat will go back to the GOP and the deep RED state of Alabama will have proper representation again. Jones is a pro-abortion, open borders advocate, even Mitch McConnell’s GOP can find a decent candidate between now and then to run and win.
