HR King*** Barry Bonds Indicted on Perjury and Obstruction of Justice Charges …

Move over Michael Vick and Marion Jones … you are about to have some company. Baseball slugger and home run king “*”, Barry Bonds is indicted by a Federal grand jury. Barry Bonds is about to learn a lesson in humility and the fact that the Feds do not screw around. The Balco poster boy is in a world of trouble.

Major League Baseball’s worst nightmare just came true. The dirty little secret of steroid use that permeated the sport for years is about to have the cover ripped off the ball. Oh what tangled webs we weave … The poster boy of MLB steroid use and new HR King just got his crown knocked off.

If proven guilty or if Bonds cops a plea deal, should all his baseball records be taken away like Marion Jones’ Olympic medals were?

The Indictment
 
Bonds was indicted on four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction. The possible penalties:

• Perjury: Five years in prison, three years supervised probation for each count.
• Obstruction: 10 years in prison, three years supervised probation.

On the very day that Barry Bonds is indicted by a Federal grand jury for perjury and obstruction of justice charges, Bond’s long time trainer, Greg Anderson, is released from prison. Coincidence?

His release comes on the same day as the federal government’s indictment of the ex-Giants slugger on four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice. He was cited for lying when he said he didn’t knowingly take steroids given to him by Anderson, his personal trainer and longtime friend. Bonds also was charged with lying that Anderson never injected him with steroids.

Better Late than Never … Judge Rules OJ Simpson Will Stand Trial in Las Vegas Alleged Memorabilia Heist

If your client is vile, then he must stand trial.

OJ Simpson will stand trial in the Vegas memorabilia heist. None of the charges in the 12-count complaint against the three defendants were dropped. Twelve years after being acquitted for double murder O.J. Simpson will head back to court in another attempt to avoid jail. 

LAS VEGAS —  O.J. Simpson must face trial on kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges stemming from an alleged sports memorabilia heist, a justice of the peace ruled Wednesday.

Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure ruled after a preliminary hearing of the charges and arguments against the case by attorneys for Simpson and co-defendants Clarence “C.J.” Stewart and Charles “Charlie” Ehrlich.

OJ Simpson attorney, Yale Galanter called the witnesses a group of “nefarious” characters. If that is the case Attorney Galanter, why was your client in their company? Water seeks its own level. If your client is vile, then he must stand trial.

Father of Slain Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder Wins $11 Million Verdict against Westboro Baptist Church Funeral Protesters

Westboro Baptist Church loses  $11 million verdict; however, they have a greater judgment to face down the line.

Its about time and thank you God. The father of slain Marine, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, has won an $11 million verdict against the heinous funeral protectors from the Westboro Baptist Church. It is almost unbelievable and beyond words that anyone would do such a thing at a funeral of a fallen hero.

Church members routinely picket funerals of military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, carrying signs such as “Thank God for dead soldiers” and “God hates fags.” (Yahoo News)

Albert Snyder sued the Westboro Baptist Church for unspecified damages after members demonstrated at his son’s funeral in March 2006 who was killed in Iraq.

A Baltimore federal jury awarded nearly $11 million Wednesday to the father of a Marine killed in Iraq, deciding that the family’s privacy had been invaded by a Kansas church whose members waved anti-gay signs at the funeral.

Madrid Spain Train Terror Bombing Verdicts … 4 Guilty and 1 Acquitted

The Madrid Spain train bombings were one if the worst terrorist bombings in Europe killing 191 people and wounding 1800. It has been referred to as Spain’s 911 and now the first verdicts are in for the 28 defendants. Four found guilty and one acquitted.

Rabei Osman, one of the accused masterminds of the 2004 Madrid terror bombings, was acquitted of all charges on Wednesday by a Spanish court after the first four of 28 defendants were found guilty of murder and other charges in the culmination to a politically divisive trial over Europe’s worst Islamic militant terror attack.

Michael Devlin Will Plead Guilty to Kidnapping, Sexual Abuse Charges in Hornbeck and Ownby Cases

According to reports, Michael Devlin will plead guilty next week in the kidnapping, attempted murder and and sexual assault. The case of Michael Devlin, the unassuming former Pizza manager, is an amazing story of hiding in plain sight. The blessing to this plea deal is that neither boy, William “Ben” Ownby nor Shawn Hornbeck will have to relive in a court room what happened to them and Michael Devlin will be taken out of society and away from our children for most likely life. This is probably the best outcome when we consider what is best for Shawn and Ben and their futures.

Washington County prosecutor John Rupp said Michael Devlin will plead guilty to all charges there in the 2002 kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck and will be sentenced Tuesday.

Devlin was arrested in January after police found Shawn and Ben Ownby at Devlin’s apartment in the St. Louis County town of Kirkwood.

Loyd Bailie, Ben’s uncle, told The Associated Press on Friday that the family had been briefed by prosecutors that Devlin will plead guilty next week in all four jurisdictions where he is charged: three Missouri counties and federal court. He said he did not know whether Devlin would plead guilty to all of the more than 80 felony charges against him, several of which carry life sentences. (Philadelphia Inquirer)

The bizarre case of Michel Devlin started in the case of the kidnapping of Ben Ownby only to later learn that Devlin was also responsible for the earlier kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck. William Ownsby was kidnapped and an AMBER ALERT was issued for the missing 13 year old boy after a witness saw the boy pushed into a white pickup truck.  When the miraculous  news occurred that  William “Ben” Ownby was found safe and alive, no one could have imagined at the time that Shawn Hornbeck, who had been missing since 2002, would be found as well. Michael Devlin had in fact kidnapped both boys and had been charged by police with kidnapping and numerous other sexual molestation charges. The multiple sodomy charges were too numerous to list. The guilty plea will take this heinous individual off the streets and away from our children for life.
