Duke Lacrosse Loses National Championship Game to Johns Hopkins as Fallen Dukie James Regan Honored
Duke Lacrosse may have lost this afternoon, but their was more gained in defeat. As the MSM focused on the Duke – Johns Hopkins match up to proclaim a story book finish, a greater and more special story took place in Long Island, NY. Sgt. Jimmy Regan, 26, who joined the armed services following 9–11 was honored. A true American hero.

The brass bell tolled 37 times — once for each of the Special Operations soldiers who died in Iraq during the past year — after their names were added to a memorial wall at Fort Bragg.
One soldier honored at Thursday’s ceremony was Sgt. Jimmy Regan, 26, a 2002 Duke University economics graduate and lacrosse player from Manhasset, N.Y.
“It’s a special day. It’s very good closure for the family,” said his father, James Regan. “He was raised a patriot.” (Fox)
This type of selfless service is was is praised today and should never be forgotten the other 364 days of the year. Let us never forget what is truly important. It is not sporting events or those that the media wishes to make heros of even though they are partially at fault for their circumstances. It is about true heros … like Jimmy Regan. Duke alumni and all Americans can be proud of a guy like this. God bless and thank you for your service.
The younger Regan served double tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq, earning a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and several other medals. He was killed by a roadside bomb on Feb. 9. (NewsDay)
This afternoon in the 2007 NCAA Lacrosse championship game Duke lost 12–11 to perennial power house Johns Hopkins. In a way I am happy that this outcome was not the “story book” ending that the MSM so wanted for a couple of reasons. One, many in the MSM have forgotten that although Duke and its players were handed a raw deal from DA Nifong, they were guilty of behaving badly. Duke lacrosse had quite the reputation on campus which made it more than possible in many students minds that they false allegations made could be true. Also, the fact that even though there was under age drinking and the hiring of strippers, former coach Mike Pressler did nothing to suspend or sanction players.
However, the reason why I am happy that Duke lost is that its players will have learned a greater lesson than in victory. The Duke second have comeback from a 10–4 halftime deficit to tie the game at 11 was a true gut check and character builder. Duke and all their supporters should be proud of the effort put forth by the Blue Devils. It is a proven fact that greater lessons are learned in loss than they are in victory. The lesson learned is carved in granite because of bitter emotional loss.
A Duke victory would have meant another MSM circus doing interviews with players and coaches that this some how meant vindication for what they had all gone through. Forgetting the fact that the Duke program was not completely innocent. The false allegation charges against Duke lacrosse acted as a wake up call to get their act in order and straighten up. Trust me Duke … you earned more respect today in loss than you would have in any victory.

Memorial Day 2007 … Thank you for your Sacrifice
On this 2007 Memorial Day please take a moment out of your day and give thanks to those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Let us remember what this day is all about.
To all those that have served in our armed forces and gave their lives for our freedom, we say thank you.
Bush pays tribute to fallen U.S. troops
Speaking of the more than 368,000 buried through history at Arlington National Cemetery, Bush said, “Nothing said today will ease your pain. But each of you needs to know our country thanks you and we embrace you and we will never forget the terrible loss you have suffered.”
“The greatest memorial to our fallen troops cannot be found in the words we say or the places we gather,” he added. “The more lasting tribute is all around us.”
America has never lacked for heroes, men and women who exemplify patriotism, honor, duty, and sacrifice. (Captains Quarters)
Freedom is never without cost. Thank you to those that have made the ultimate sacrifice and a prayer for their families that have lost loved ones while serving to protect the United States of America.
God Bless and Thank You.
On a personal note I say thank you and you are missed to my uncle who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Thank you from your namesake, Red.
Islamophobia … The Greatest Form of Terrorism … Doubt it!
File this one under, now I have heard it all … Foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference commented that the gravest terrorist threat in the world today is Islamophobia. Who needs to misrepresent Islam, its there every day on the world stage for people to see.
The ministers described Islamophobia as a deliberate defamation of Islam and discrimination and intolerance against Muslims. They accused Western media of misrepresenting Islam and Muslims worldwide, according to a report in Arab News. (Fox News)
Because we all know and have seen by the actual actions of those in the Middle East that Islam is a religion of peace. Read the Arab News article and try not to start laughing at the premise of the argument. The momentum of “Islamophobia” increased after each incident of actual violent crimes by Muslims.
“The increasingly negative political and media discourse targeting Muslims and Islam in the United States and Europe has made things all the more difficult,” the foreign ministers said. “Islamophobia became a source of concern, especially after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, but the phenomenon was already there in Western societies in one form or the other,” they pointed out. “It gained further momentum after the Madrid and London bombings. The killing of Dutch film director Theo van Gogh in 2004 was used in a wicked manner by certain quarters to stir up a frenzy against Muslims,” the ministers pointed out. Van Gogh had made a controversial film about Muslim culture.
“Islamophobia” is not terrorism …
THIS IS TERRORISM AND DO NOT EVER FORGET IT!!!

The Bush-Kennedy Illegal Alien Amnesty … What a Colossal Nightmare
Amnesty by any other name is amnesty. Spin it, stir it mix it in a pot and its still Amnesty for Illegal Aliens. Who the hell in their right mind co-sponsors and agrees with any bill that the senor liberal Senator, Ted Kennedy, from Massachusetts would put forth? There is a reason why in many cases compromise represents nothing more than pure crap. In this case the “Amnesty Compromise” represents nothing more than a sell out of all principles that made this country great. Move over rule if law, its all about illegals feelings. Good grief.
The Bush administration and a bipartisan group of senators reached agreement yesterday on a sprawling overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws that would bring an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants out of society’s shadows while stiffening border protections and cracking down on employers of undocumented workers.
What the hell is GWB thinking? OK Democrats, you have been stating that you wanted to impeach him, go to it. Like they are every going to leave once they are here. GEEZ. Its one thing to have a guest worker program … but how in the hell are these people who came into this country illegally being given a chance for US citizenship? What country allows people who overstay their visas to actually benefit and be rewarded with citizenship. This is absolutely insane.
The Senate deal would grant temporary legal status to virtually all illegal immigrants in the country, while allowing them to apply for residence visas and eventual citizenship. A temporary-worker program would allow as many as 400,000 migrants into the country each year, but they would have to leave after two years.
Go to Michelle Malkin’s blog and read about the $2.5 trillion price tag that accompanies this Amnesty.
WTF … Who honesty believes this nonsense? This has to be one of the most naive and juvenile bills ever out forth.
Bush called it “a much-needed solution to the problem of illegal immigration in this country” and said, if approved, the proposal “delivers an immigration system that is secure, productive, orderly and fair.”

TSA Loses Hard Drive With 100,000 Employees Personal Data
Imagine you were the federal agency that was in charge of making sure that the borders and entry points of the country were safe. You know terrorists are looking to find ways to infiltrate your organization and coerce, bribe, or blackmail your employees to circumvent the regulations to cause grievous harm to the country.
Don’t you think that having the personal data of 100,000 employees of the TSA on a hard drive that was accessible a major security breech unto itself. And to now have lost the data is putting national security at risk. These employees of the Transportation Security Administration are now in someones hands who it should not be.
If that person is a bad guy, then we are in a heap of danger. They can find the weak link in the chain, coerce that person by whatever means to do their dirty work, and potentially help another commit a 9/11 type tragedy to happen.
Come on TSA, get you act together.
Authorities realized Thursday the hard drive was missing from a controlled area at TSA headquarters. TSA Administrator Kip Hawley sent a letter to employees Friday apologizing for the lost data and promising to pay for one year of credit monitoring services.
“TSA has no evidence that an unauthorized individual is using your personal information, but we bring this incident to your attention so that you can be alert to signs of any possible misuse of your identity,” Hawley wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press. “We profoundly apologize for any inconvenience and concern that this incident has caused you.”
The agency said it did not know whether the device is still within headquarters or was stolen. via FOXNews.com
