Joey Chestnut Remains Top Dog as He Eats the Competions and Sets World Record of 69 Hot Dogs to Win 7th Consecutive Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island

Once again, if its the 4th of July, it means the annual Nathan’s Hotdog Eating Contest from Coney Island, NY. Nothing says the 4th of July like a hot dog eating contest.  The most exciting 10 minutes in sports!!!

The winner, and still champion … Move over Michael Jordan, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut devoured the competition this afternoon at the Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest and won his 7th consecutive  Mustard Yellow International Belt .  Chestnut overwhelmed the competition and consumed world record setting 69 hotdogs and buns in 10 minutes, one better than last years mark. Talk about your Pepito-Bismal moments? Chestnut is now only one dog away from his mark of 70 that he has stated he wants to reach before he retires. Retire, no, say it isn’t so. I cannot imagine this contest with Joey eating the competition.

Did you know that Joey Chestnut, the hot dog eating champion had earlier this week endorsed Anthony Weiner for NYC mayor, another individual known for his weiner.

Happy Birthday America, to what is still the greatest nation on Earth, the Home of the Free and the Land of the Brave. However, that being said, I can say that never in my lifetime has it been more the responsibility of Our generation, to maintain the freedoms and liberties that our Founding Fathers bestowed on us with their sacrifices. Never in out countries history how our liberties and freedoms been under such attack and it is not from any foreign power, it is from our own government. While you are celebrating July 4th today with family, friends and fireworks, remember that independence, liberty and freedom is not free. It comes at a cost. Those that volunteer to military service do their part; however, American citizens also need to do theirs.

Our government is supposed to be of, by and for the People, and deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Thus, you are responsible for those that are elected and not elected. It is time for “We the People” to have the courage of those back in 1776 and make our government responsible to the people again. Enough is enough. I do not care what party affiliation you are, no one should be for the erosion of liberties that were provided to the people at the excuses and lies of politicians. Our government is supposed to work for us, not against us. A United States government is not supposed to be spying on innocent Americans and shredding the Constitution. Our government is not supposed to be continually passing ridiculous laws and regulations that restrict Americans from life, liberty in and the pursuit of happiness. A government is  not supposed to allow an entity like the IRS to target a segment of its citizenship to treat as an enemy to benefit one political party, no matter what party is in office. Our government should never usurp the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution and treat “freedom of the press” as if it did not exist. Our government should never be allowed to pass into law with only one party vote, the take over of 1/6th of the US economy in healthcare and call it not a tax when passing it off to the American people, then calling it a tax when arguing it before the Supreme Court, only to have a corrupt SCOTUS by the lie. Finally, a government should be of, by and for the people. If it is not, we are in trouble. Brave Americans realized this in 1776 and did something about it, what we have become today is hardly what they envisions and is actually pretty much everything they fought against. What will We the People do today?

Let us just remind all, especially those politicians in office, this country fought a War of Independence, not to become dependent on government and have those very freedoms that were so gallantly fought for taken away.

In 1776 “WE THE PEOPLE” fought a War for Independence and against a tyrannical government. Men fought and died to throw off a tyrannical government and sought to put one in place that was of, by and for the American people. I would dare say that our Founding Fathers would cringe to see what their brave efforts have been transformed into today. Never forget America, whether it be with a musket in 1776 or a vote in present day, it is your responsibility to uphold the following words from the Declaration of Independence signed this day in 1776 … “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government … But when a long train of abuses and usurpation’s, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government …” America, do not ever let your voice be silenced and it is your God given right to uphold the values, virtues and liberties that were fought for you 236 years ago. America is worth fighting for, and it is your responsibility to do so.

For those who think or try to weaken America and think they can take advantage of what is perceived as a current weak administration, America is much, much more than our government and elected politicians, even though they seemed to have forgotten that fact. Don’t Mess With Texas… ‘Merry Christmas Bill’ Expected Soon to Become Law in Texas

It’s Christmas come early in Texas … ‘Merry Christmas Bill’ expected to become law in Texas soon.

It would appear that the following will no longer have to be asked by school children in Texas, “Daddy, why do we have a Christmas tree at home and a Holiday tree at school?”

Texas Governor Rick Perry is expected to sign legislation allowing public schools to celebrate Christmas and other winter holidays plainly and explicitly without fear of lawsuits. The proposed law, is called the “Merry Christmas Bill,” has already passed both the Texas House and Senate and now awaits the Perry’s signature. The bill allows “students and district staff” to declare such things such as “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Hanukkah,” and even the soul-sucking “happy holidays.” Oh, the ACLU and anti-Christian organizations are going to lose their mind with this. How sad is it that we have to pass a law to prevent a school from doing this to exempt them from being sued? Is the “war on Christmas” over? Hardly, PC libs are sure to challenge it at the first chance. They will get some 7 year old to say they are being made to feel uncomfortable by being wished a Merry Christmas”.

The text of the bill specifically permits school districts to “educate students about the history of traditional winter celebrations.” More importantly and, somehow, controversially, the bill allows “students and district staff” to declare such things such as “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Hanukkah,” and even the soul-sucking “happy holidays.”

The bill also unambiguously legalizes displays of the religious imagery associated with traditional winter celebrations including nativity scenes, Christmas trees and menorahs. The caveat is that all displays must include imagery from at least two religions or some additional secular symbol. (Messages encouraging adherence to a religion are verboten, too.)

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a school district’s recognition of and education
regarding traditional winter celebrations.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  Subchapter Z, Chapter 29, Education Code, is
amended by adding Section 29.920 to read as follows:
       Sec. 29.920.  WINTER CELEBRATIONS.  (a)  A school district
may educate students about the history of traditional winter
celebrations, and allow students and district staff to offer
traditional greetings regarding the celebrations, including:
             (1)  ”Merry Christmas”;
             (2)  ”Happy Hanukkah”; and
             (3)  ”happy holidays.”
       (b)  Except as provided by Subsection (c), a school district
may display on school property scenes or symbols associated with
traditional winter celebrations, including a menorah or a Christmas
image such as a nativity scene or Christmas tree, if the display
includes a scene or symbol of:
             (1)  more than one religion; or
             (2)  one religion and at least one secular scene or
symbol.
       (c)  A display relating to a traditional winter celebration
may not include a message that encourages adherence to a particular
religious belief.
       SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 2013-2014
school year.
       SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2013

Rolling Thunder Roars into Washington, DC on Memorial Day 2013

On this Memorial Day 2013 as we remember and thank those brave men and woman who we can no longer thank personally, Rolling Thunder roars into Washington, DC to honor those who have served and died for our freedom. On Sunday, thousands of motorcyclists rode from the Pentagon to the National Mall, ending their 10-mile trip near the Lincoln Memorial.

Memorial Day 2013 – Remembering & Thanking Our Heroes For Their Service & Sacrifice Because Freedom is not Free

On this Memorial day, Scared Monkeys sends a special thank you to all of the men and woman who have sacrificed their lives to that We, the United States of America, remain free. We thank those who we can no longer thank personally for their sacrifice to this great Country. Thank you, we shall never forget you your service and sacrifice.

As we know, freedom is never free and it is our heroes of the United States Armed Forces who we all owe a debt of gratitude. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, honor and dedication to this country. So please, as you have the day off today, spend it with family and friends and celebrate the day in your own special way, take the time to remember those who gave their lives to make this day possible. These are true American heroes who should never be forgotten.

It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we — in a less final, less heroic way — be willing to give of ourselves.” [...]

“As we honor their memory today, let us pledge that their lives, their sacrifices, their valor shall be justified and remembered for as long as God gives life to this nation. And let us also pledge to do our utmost to carry out what must have been their wish: that no other generation of young men will every have to share their experiences and repeat their sacrifice.”

On a personal note I say thank you and you are missed to my uncle who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He served during WWII in George S. Patton’s Third Army. During his service he was a multiple Purple Heart recipient and was awarded the Bronze Star and Silver Star. What a special person this man was and a walking talking historian. He was so hesitant, like so many heroes from our “Greatest Generation” of talking about what he had experienced. My Uncle Joe enlisted as an 18 year old boy and came back from WWII a changed man, whose own mother did not even recognize. He would only talk about the war to me in his later years when he realized I was studying it in college as I was a History major. So many of his accounts of what happened just brought a tear to my eye that so many went through so much and sacrificed all. For me, other than the religious holidays of Easter and Christmas, the two most important American holidays are Memorial Day and Independence Day. Freedom truly is not free. I learned that from a man who until the day he passed away set off metal detectors in airports from the shrapnel that was in his body as a result of multiple German hand grenades.  I can remember Taps being played at my uncles funeral at Arlington National Cemetery like it was just yesterday.  To my uncle … Thank you from your namesake, Red.

We will never forget all of the brave acts of courage and sacrifice from all those who have served, God Bless All.
