Barack Obama Said in SOTU Address that “The State of the Union is Strong” … Frank Luntz Focus Group Calls BS & Doesn’t Buy It

FOCUS GROUP CRIES BS WHEN OBAMA CLAIMS THE STATE OF THE UNION IS STRONG …

Last night during President Barack Obama’s SOTU address, Barack Obama said, “the shadow of crisis has passed, and the State of the Union is strong.” Hmm, really? What shadow of crisis has passed that Obama speaks of? Is it the economic crisis that still plagues millions of Americans who face wage stagnation, having to work multiple jobs or lesser ones than they once had? Is it the crisis of a record number of Americans on Food Stamps? Is it the crisis of record low job participation? Or is it the crisis that terrorism is over, even though radical Islam is on the march in the forms of ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, etc. So what the hell was Barack Obama talking about … the Frank Luntz focus group was asking the same question as none of them bought Obama’s spin and half of the group voted for Obama. Check out the 18 second mark where the focus groups both call foul.

America, for all that we’ve endured; for all the grit and hard work required to come back; for all the tasks that lie ahead, know this:

The shadow of crisis has passed, and the State of the Union is strong.

SOTU:

Tonight, for the first time since 9/11, our combat mission in Afghanistan is over. Six years ago, nearly 180,000 American troops served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, fewer than 15,000 remain. And we salute the courage and sacrifice of every man and woman in this 9/11 Generation who has served to keep us safe. We are humbled and grateful for your service.

America, for all that we’ve endured; for all the grit and hard work required to come back; for all the tasks that lie ahead, know this:

The shadow of crisis has passed, and the State of the Union is strong.

Republican Response to the SOTU: Newly Elected Iowa Senator Joni Ernst … “President Obama Will Soon have a Decision to make [Keystone XL Pipleline]: Will he sign the Bill or Block Good American Jobs?

JONI ERNST … A STAR IS BORN.

Tonight, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) delivered the Republican response to Barack Obama’s SOTU. The freshman Senator nailed it. In a forum that is hardly a comfortable one or easy, she came across well versed, was up to the moment and never once reached for a glass of water. As Barack Obama touted questionable economic numbers and gave the appearance that we have turned the page on the economic tough times, Joni Ernst personalized the current situation that a majority of Americans feel, that Americans are hurting and are demanding answers, not the same old stale same old, same old.

We see our neighbors agonize over stagnant wages and lost jobs. We see the hurt caused by canceled healthcare plans and higher monthly insurance bills. We see too many moms and dads put their own dreams on hold while growing more fearful about the kind of future they’ll be able to leave to their children.

“Americans have been hurting, but when we demanded solutions, too often Washington responded with the same stale mindset that led to failed policies like Obamacare. It’s a mindset that gave us political talking points, not serious solutions.

“That’s why the new Republican majority you elected started by reforming Congress to make it function again. And now, we’re working hard to pass the kind of serious job-creation ideas you deserve.

The Weekly Standard – Full Text of Republican Response to State of the Union:

“Good evening.

“I’m Joni Ernst. As a mother, a soldier, and a newly elected senator from the great State of Iowa, I am proud to speak with you tonight.

“A few moments ago, we heard the President lay out his vision for the year to come. Even if we may not always agree, it’s important to hear different points of view in this great country. We appreciate the President sharing his.

“Tonight though, rather than respond to a speech, I’d like to talk about your priorities. I’d like to have a conversation about the new Republican Congress you just elected, and how we plan to make Washington focus on your concerns again.

“We heard the message you sent in November — loud and clear. And now we’re getting to work to change the direction Washington has been taking our country.

“The new Republican Congress also understands how difficult these past six years have been. For many of us, the sting of the economy and the frustration with Washington’s dysfunction, weren’t things we had to read about. We felt them every day.

“We felt them in Red Oak — the little town in southwestern Iowa where I grew up, and am still proud to call home today.

“As a young girl, I plowed the fields of our family farm. I worked construction with my dad. To save for college, I worked the morning biscuit line at Hardees.

“We were raised to live simply, not to waste. It was a lesson my mother taught me every rainy morning.

“You see, growing up, I had only one good pair of shoes. So on rainy school days, my mom would slip plastic bread bags over them to keep them dry. (Read the rest HERE)

SOTU Address:Obama Asks for GOP Controlled Congress for Civility Then Goes Snarky and Shoots Back at Republicans, “I Won Both of Them” (Video)

THE STATE OF THE UNION OBAMA HYPOCRISY …

During tonight’s State of the Union Address, President Barack Obama called for civility and for Congress to come together and work together. Obama called for better politics, one where we spend less time drowning in dark money for ads that pull us into the gutter. Then after all this call for kumbaya politics, Obama went snarky and back to the divisive politics of me. Obama opined, “I have no more campaigns to run.” His comment was met with some GOP applause and then some laughter. Then Obama’s true colors came out as the thin skinned president made the following snark comment, “I know because I won both of them”. REALLY? Once again it’s all about Obama, its all about “I”. The second election is debatable whether you won, with all the IRS scandals against Tea Party and conservative groups, stolen might be a better description. However, I wonder when Obama said, “I won” what the many Democrat US Reps and Senators sitting at home, tossed out of office because of Obama’s policies and agenda thought?

Imagine if we broke out of these tired old patterns. Imagine if we did something different.

Understand— a better politics isn’t one where Democrats abandon their agenda or Republicans simply embrace mine.

A better politics is one where we appeal to each other’s basic decency instead of our basest fears.

A better politics is one where we debate without demonizing each other; where we talk issues, and values, and principles, and facts, rather than “gotcha” moments, or trivial gaffes, or fake controversies that have nothing to do with people’s daily lives.

A better politics is one where we spend less time drowning in dark money for ads that pull us into the gutter, and spend more time lifting young people up, with a sense of purpose and possibility, and asking them to join in the great mission of building America.

If we’re going to have arguments, let’s have arguments?—?but let’s make them debates worthy of this body and worthy of this country.

That’s a better politics. That’s how we start rebuilding trust. That’s how we move this country forward. That’s what the American people want. That’s what they deserve.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd Gives a Reporter a Lesson in Political Correctness … “Make No Mistake About It, There’s Nothing About Politically Correct in a Gun Fight.”

HERO OF THE WEEK … Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

A manhunt was underway for four suspects who killed two people in the home, a mother and daughter, who, Judd said, were “viciously murdered” in a manner “much too graphic to describe.” People were asked to stay in their homes, as hundreds of officers, including SWAT teams, scoured a Central Florida neighborhood for armed and dangerous men after a suspected robbery, high-speed chase and double homicide overnight. Finally, the police got their men as all four suspects were arrested and are now in custody. However, it was what Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said afterwards in a police press conference that people need to heed. A lily-livered, spineless member of the MSM asked the sheriff the following question, “Some of the comments you made last night about shooting the suspects, possibly, and the comments today about ‘ready for a gunfight’ — was that in the heat of the moment? Do you have any regret about that?” Are you kidding? Thankfully, the media is not responsible to protect and serve the public.

Needless to say Sheriff Grady Judd responded in a manner that should make all people of his country feel safe and secure, just like how you don’t bring a knife to a gun fight, you don’t bring political correctness either.

“I not only have no regret, I’m pretty excited about telling you that — that’s exactly what would’ve happened,” Judd shot back. “Make no mistake about it, there’s nothing about politically correct in a gun fight. There’s nothing about politically correct when you are keeping people alive and well and safe. And the people of this community and these law enforcement officers come first.”

“I meant every word of it then, and I mean every word of it now,” he added. “If you surrender peacefully, that’s the way we prefer it. You start pointing guns at us, you can not only plan on, but you can guarantee that we are going to shoot you.”

Male Passenger Thrown Off American Airlines Plane After PC Scrooge Flippied Out After Airline Staff Says ‘Merry Christmas’

MAYBE THE NEXT TIME YOU FLY, YOU WILL CONSIDER TAKING AMERICAN AIRLINES, I KNOW I WILL …

A male passenger was tossed off an American Airlines plane at La Guardia Airport in New York on Tuesday after he flipped out and took offense to being wished a Merry Christmas by airline staff. The idiot went mental when he was greeted not once, but twice by American Airline personnel with a “Merry Christmas.” Instead of just smiling and accepting the greetings, the passenger had to spew his PC bullsh*t and then went on a rant that not everyone celebrates Christmas and lectured them that they should not say it. This fool would not stop and was in turn thrown off the plane. Good for the folks at American Airlines. As the Grinch was escorted off the plane, the other passengers cheered and applauded. Hell, had I been on the plane I would have led the others on board in a rendition of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” serenading the jerk off the plane.

Merry Christmas2

A passenger was tossed off a plane at La Guardia Airport on Tuesday after flipping out — because airline workers wished him a merry Christmas.

The man was waiting to board American Airlines Flight 1140 to Dallas when a cheerful gate agent began welcoming everyone with the Yuletide greeting while checking boarding passes.

The grumpy passenger, who appeared to be traveling alone, barked at the woman, “You shouldn’t say that because not everyone celebrates Christmas.”

Once on the plane, he was warmly greeted by a flight attendant who also wished him a “merry Christmas.” That was the last straw.

“Don’t say, ‘Merry Christmas!’?” the man raged before lecturing the attendants and the pilot about their faux pas.

He was escorted off the plane as other fliers burst into cheers and applause.

I am all for freedom of speech, but some time people just need to STFU. No body cares that one person on a plane full of people, traveling on the day before Christmas, gets offended by being wished a Merry Christmas. At some point the 99.9% of people do not need to have their lives impacted by the opinions of one idiot. Congratulations to American Airlines for doing the right thing.
