UPDATE: 7th Graders at Virginia Beach, VA Suspended for Playing With Toy Guns On Private Property Are Officially Expelled

UNREAL. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE COUNTRY I GREW UP IN …

From the story the other day where three 7th graders were suspended from their Virginia Beach, VA elementary school for playing with toy guns on private property, we have an update and you are not going to believe it.  The children were suspended for possession, handling and use of a firearm, even though it was a toy.

Talk about you overreactions and lack of any common sense.

Here is the update from The Daily Caller, three morons on the disciplinary committee consisting from the Virginia Beach City Public Schools board made the absurd decision to unanimously expel the boys for the rest of the school year. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! The three brain surgeons from the Virginia Beach City Public Schools board were identified by local media as Dottie Holtz, Bobby Melatti and Carolyn Weems. Who on earth comes up with this decision in an attempt to ruin these children’s lives? Talk about the punishment not fitting the crime. Of course there was no crime, it was a friggin toy gun.

The Virginia Beach seventh graders who were suspended for playing with an airsoft toy gun on their own private property have now been expelled for an entire school year.

The decision was made unanimously by a disciplinary committee consisting of three members of the Virginia Beach City Public Schools board, according to local news.

Khalid Caraballo and Aidan Clark are banned from Larkspur Middle School until at least January, when a new hearing will be convened to determine whether the boys can come back to school early.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME … Virginia Beach 7th Grade Student Suspended from School for Firing Toy Gun Near Bus Stop on His Own Property

WTF, So now private property means nothing in the United States … ZERO TOLERANCE, MORE LIKE ZERO COMMON SENSE!!!

A 7th grade boy and two of his friends in Virgina Beach VA have been suspended from school and could be expelled for the rest of the year because of shooting a toy gun. But this story gets better, or worse as the case may be. The children were suspended for possession, handling and use of a firearm. However, the children were playing with the “TOY” guns on private property, not school grounds, not on a school bus or not at the bus stop.  How on earth can a child be suspended from a school when playing on their own “PRIVATE” property? The school gas ZERO jurisdiction as to what one does on their own property. WHAT HAS THIS COUNTRY COME TO? Oh, and by the way, how can a child be suspended for handling and possession of a firearm, WHEN IT WAS A TOY!!!

The incident brings into play the notion of “Zero Tolerance”. However, I would dare say this incident has “ZERO” common sense. The day a school is allowed to suspend a child for playing with something legal on their own private property is the day we might as well burn the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and declare our self a military state.

A suspended seventh grade Virginia Beach student will find out soon if he is expelled for the rest of the year for shooting an airsoft gun.

Like thousands of others in Hampton Roads, Khalid Caraballo plays with airsoft guns. Caraballo and his friend Aidan were suspended because they shot two other friends who were with them while playing with the guns as they waited for the school bus.

The two seventh graders say they never went to the bus stop; they fired the airsoft guns while on Caraballo’s private property.

Aidan’s father, Tim Clark, told WAVY.com what happened next lacks commons sense. The children were suspended for possession, handling and use of a firearm.

Khalid’s mother, Solangel Caraballo, thinks it is ridiculous the Virginia Beach City Public School System suspended her 13-year-old son and Aidan because they were firing a spring-driven airsoft gun on the Caraballo’s posted private property.  “My son is my private property.  He does not become the school’s property until he goes to the bus stop, gets on the bus, and goes to school.”

The bus stop in question is 70 yards from the Caraballo’s front yard.

Why would anyone want to ruin a child’s life over something so stupid? Suspend a child and possible expulsion over this? Thank God I am not a kid in today’s society for my daily playing of Army with with friends back in the day would have put me at the top of the list on the Post Office wall of the “Most Wanted”.

Valedictorian Roy Costner IV Rips Up Speech and Then Recites The Lord’s Prayer at Liberty High School in South Carolina

This is what leadership and character is about, standing up for one’s principles and beliefs, no matter what. There is hope for our future.

Roy Costner, the Liberty High School valedictorian, made a stand for the First Amendment, freedom of speech and freedom of religion and his religious beliefs and there was no government, school board, ACLU or anti-religious an atheist groups could do a damn thing about it. This is what leaders, character and heroes are made of. During his valedictorian speech at Liberty High School in South Carolina, 30 seconds into his faculty approved speech, Costner tore it up and ad-libbed it. Costner then began reciting the Lord’s Prayer, much to the shock of the school faculty and the applause from those in attendance. For all of you who think you have a right to have your 1st Amendment rights protected, by taking other’s away, you are wrong and clueless. And as for separation of Church and State, read the Constitution.

A special shout out to Roy Costner IV who dared stand up for his convictions and beliefs. In a time in which we are witness to adults in politics and government agency bureaucrats who have zero character, along comes this high school grad. He is our Scared Monkeys hero of the day.

AMEN BROTHER!!!

Watch the actual speech below from Valedictorian Roy Costner IV

Liberty High School valedictorian Roy Costner hadn’t been at the podium for more than 30 seconds when he tore up the speech he had gotten approved by the faculty and began reciting the Lord’s Prayer to thunderous applause.

Patrick Elliott with the Freedom From Religion Foundation says they have received complaints about the district in South Carolina in the past for having student-led prayers at school board meetings.

So they wrote to them and asked them to stop.

“Sometimes people think, ‘majority rules’ but that’s not really the case with a constitutional right. So students do have the right to attend school without the school promoting or endorsing religion even if you know a large amount of people in the community would hope that the school would do so,” Elliott said.

Do You Live in One of the 10 Freest States in the United States or One of the Least … North Dakota Named the Most Free

“Where Liberty Dwells, there is My Country” – Benjamin Franklin

The Blaze announces the 10 freest states and the 10 least … which one doe you live in? In order to calculate these scores, they weight public policies according to the estimated costs that government restrictions on freedom impose on their victims. The fill report can be read here, at “Freedom in the 50 States”.   Many of the most free states are so because of low taxation and fiscal policy. North Dakota was named the most free, New York state comes in dead last.

  1. North Dakota: VIDEO
  2. South Dakota – VIDEO
  3. Tennessee – VIDEO
  4. New Hampshire – VIDEO
  5. Oklahoma
  6. Idaho
  7. Missouri
  8. Virginia
  9. Georgia
  10. Utah

North Dakota is the freest state in the U.S., followed closely by South Dakota, Tennessee, New Hampshire, and Oklahoma, according to the Mercatus Center at George Mason University’s third annual “Freedom in the 50 States.”

The 223-page report “scores all 50 states on their overall respect for individual freedom, and also on their respect for three dimensions of freedom considered separately: fiscal policy, regulatory policy, and personal freedom,” the study explains. Surprisingly, Texas did not make the top 10 and was ranked the 14th most free state.

The bottom 10 are 41. Mississippi, 42. West Virginia, 43. Vermont, 44. Maryland, 45. Illinois, 46. Rhode Island, 47. Hawaii,  48. New Jersey, 49. California and 50. New York.

Mississippi Passes ‘Anti-Bloomberg Bill,’ Banning Limits on Portion Sizes & Posting of Calorie Counts Requirements … Well, I hope [Mayor Bloomberg] will remember, A Southern man don’t need him around anyhow … “

MISSISSIPPI BURNING BLOOMBERG’S PORTION SIZES AND CALORIE COUNTS …

Mississippi lawmakers have overwhelmingly passed a bill  called the  ”anti-Bloomberg bill.” The bill does just the opposite from what the liberal mayor of NYC has inflicted upon the Big Apple. The “anti-Bloomberg bill” would ban communities from requiring restaurants to post calorie counts on menus or limit portion sizes. It is not up to the government to tell an individual what to eat or drink or to prevent one from doing to. Is it smart to eat healthy and use some common sense on what one eats, yes. However, it is about personal choice and personal responsibility.

Lawmakers in Mississippi — the most obese state in the nation — have overwhelmingly approved what they’re calling the “anti-Bloomberg bill.”

It would ban communities from requiring restaurants to post calorie counts on menus or limit portion sizes, as Mayor Bloomberg tried to do with his proposed ban on large sodas.  Also forbidden: any local rule banning toys from being distributed with kids’ meals.

The governor is expected to sign it.

When asked about the law, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg was highly critical of the bill and called it a farce. Guess what Mayor Bloomberg, no one cares what you think in Mississippi. It may not quite be Lynyrd Skynyrd’s  ’Sweet Home Alabama,’ but Mississippi is singing, “Well, I hope [Mayor Bloomberg] will remember, A Southern man don’t need him around anyhow …

Mr. Bloomberg was highly critical of the legislation when he was asked about the bill this morning in an interview on CBS.

“You know, Saturday Night Live couldn’t write this stuff,” Mr. Bloomberg exclaimed. “How can somebody try and pass a law that deliberately says we can’t improve the lives of our citizens? It’s just farce. Nobody would believe it if you wrote it in the book.”

Mr. Bloomberg proceeded to tout his efforts to improve public health.

How do we say this politely? Mayor Bloomberg, it’s none of your F’n business what people are eating. Especially in Mississippi. It is not your place to tell some one what they can and cannot eat. Worry about your 80% illiteracy reading rate for high school graduates in NCY. THAT IS YOUR JOB! Personal responsibility and personal choice is not.

LIBERAL LOGIC: IT’S CONSIDERED PERSONAL CHOICE TO HAVE AN ABORTION BUT NOT TO SUPERSIZE SIZE A MEAL.
