Uber-Leftist Bill Maher Defends Free Speech … “This is America, Do We Not Have the Right to Draw Whatever We Want?” (VIDEO)

FREE SPEECH MAKES STRANGE BED FELLOWS … UBER-LEFTIST BILL MAHER COMES TO THE DEFENSE OF PAM GELLAR.

Like him or hate him, agree with him or not, Bill Maher is 100% consistent and correct when t comes to radical Islam and their assault on our rights like freedom of speech. On his latest HBO show, ‘Real Time‘ with Bill Maher, he takes on the recent shooting in Garland, TX where two radical Islamist jihadist were shot dead by a Garland police officer as they tried to attack the “draw the Prophet Mohammad’ event.

Bill Maher starts out by saying, “this is America, do we not have the right to draw whatever we want?” Maher is 100% correct. Maher also mentioned the writers group, PEN, that recently gave Charlie Hebdo an award for courage. However, over 200 writers, including Garry Tradeau of Doonesbury comic fame, objected to the giving of the award, of which Maher thought was pretty crazy. I would have to agree, imagine a media that condemns other media for practicing free speech only because certain elitists in the media think their brand of free speech is the only allowed free speech? Does that not reek of censorship?

Maher reads Tradeau’s writings, “By punching downward, by attacking a powerless, disenfranchised minority with crude, vulgar drawings closer to graffiti than cartoons, Charlie wandered into the realm of hate speech, which in France is only illegal if it directly incites violence. Well, voila—the 7 million copies that were published following the killings did exactly that, triggering violent protests across the Muslim world.  Then Bill Maher came out with the money line that all need to take a long hard look at. Maher says, “so this assumes that we just have to accept that Muslims are unable to control themselves the way we would ask everyone else in the world. To me that’s bigotry. That’s the soft bigotry of low expectations.” Maher further opines, “We don’t ask anyone else in the world

MAHER GOT THAT RIGHT.

Then we are presented with typical stupidity and asinine comment that represents today’s PC liberalism of squishiness from MSNBC’s Alex Wagne who says ,”isn’t the whole point of free speech not to judge people based on what people say”? What turnip truck did this lib fall off of? But like a typical liberal, you cant offend and judge people. Panelist Will Cain would slap her down saying, “no that is definitely not the role of free speech, you judge, you just don’t censor”. I thought for one second Cain was going to use the old SNL line from the classic Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin Point-Counterpoint skit, “Jane Alex, you ignorant slut”.

Cain then went on to make a point that should be a wake up call to all of the media as he said, “You don’t just have a right to free speech, when someone’s position is, if you offend me, I will kill you, it becomes virtuous for you to offend that person. You need to offend that person. You need to shock that person out of that horrible position.” AMEN BROTHER!!! But instead, the cowardly MSM shrinks when it is their head on the line.

Maher brought up Charlie Hebdo and said he’s a little disturbed by the whole “soft bigotry of low expectations” when it comes to that magazine’s critics assuming that “Muslims aren’t able to control themselves.”

MSNBC’s Alex Wagner asked, “Isn’t the whole point of free speech not to judge people?” Cain shot back that when people threaten to kill just for expressing opinions, “it becomes virtuous to offend that person… [and] you need to shock them out of their horrible position.”

Former Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee said, “You’re talking about hatred!” Maher found that a little mind-boggling in a conversation about people who kill for free speech. He said everyone should be on the side of Muslims who just want to live their lives and don’t draw attention to people mocking their faith.

Wagner and Cain threw down over the appropriateness of the Charlie Hebdo award, with Wagner arguing that journalists who travel the world and put themselves in danger are “practicing courageous acts” moreso than cartoonists.

In the United States of America, there are no rules put on “free speech’ as afforded by the US Constitution unless you yell “fire” or “bomb”. But that is not the case anymore for liberals and the likes of Juan Williams. Listen to Williams below say that he is all for free speech and then tell us just the opposite and say that he is against it when it comes to the rights of Pam Gellar and the Draw the Prophet Mohammad cartoon contest. Williams says in the VIDEO below, “because she engaged in gratuitous offensive behavior that led to the deaths of two people”. Okay’ let’s stop here. Yes her actions did lead to the deaths of two people, they there two radical Islamist jihadists, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi. Both of these radical Muslims have been killed and we wont have to worry about them anymore. Pam Gellar should be given a medal for smoking these two out.

Then Williams goes on to say, Gellar wasn’t about writing a book like Salman Rushdie or she wasn’t about Charlie Hebdo engaging in satire, but instead she did this as a provocative act to offend people. REALLY, YOU FOOL? Juan, are you really this stupid? You would really make the distinction and defend drawing a cartoon because it was satire versus used to be provocative? Lets just come out and say and and not mince worse, Juan Williams is a typical liberal ass-hat who only likes free speech that he agrees with.Satire is meant to be proactive you idiot! To radical Islam, they make no differentiation. So when you are in-front of a black cloaked jihadist with a knife in his hand about to cut your head off, making the excuse that your cartoon was done for satire will make no difference. As for Salman Rushdie and Satanic Versus, he knew exactly what he was doing and poked the hornets nest. But because Pamela Gellar is a conservative, anything she does is hated by the LEFT and they will make excuses.

If you have ever wondered whether Juan Williams was just a liberal who was misguided and there was some hope for, think again. The law of the land is the United States Constitution, not Shariah law, at least for now.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Wows Them at NRA Convention in Nashville, TN … “Our Country is in Crisis … The Answer is Not Going to Come from Washington, It’s Going to Come from You”

Maybe there was no greater comment made last night by Sen. Ted Cruz than the following, “Our country is in crisis yet we’re gonna pull back and change the path we’re on, but the answer is not going to come from Washington, it’s going to come from you!!!”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke to the NRA faithfully in Nashville, Tennessee at their Annual Meeting last night and began his speech with … GOD BLESS THE NRA. Cruz mocked Hillary Clinton and her email issues, praised the fact that the victims of the Fort Hood shooting victims finally got their Purple Hearts after 5 years, against the objection of the Obama administration.  Cruz went on to say, “It is a time for truth you cannot win a war on radical Islamic terrorism with the president who is unwilling to utter the words radical Islamic terrorist.”

Instead of a president who boycotts Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, imagine America’s standing unapologetically with the nation of Israel.  Imagine a commander in chief standing up with clarity and saying we will defeat radical Islamic terrorists. And under no circumstances will the nation of Iran be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Some weeks ago I join with 46 other senators signing a letter that we sent to Iran explaining that under the United States Constitution there are only two way something becomes a law, either it is a treaty ratified by two-thirds of the Senate or a law passed by both houses of Congress signed by the president. Well the Obama White House went a little hysterical about that letter.

Ted Cruz further went on to say to the folks in attendance, “you know we’re at a time a crisis. Here at home millions of people are hurting as the economies in stagnation. Abroad the Obama-Clinton foreign policy a leading from behind does not work. And d we’re saying an unprecedented threat to our liberties each and ever day from the Federal government,” but he said he was inspired by the words, deeds and actions of the NRA membership because they fight for their Constitutional rights.

Sen. Ted Cruz, one of two declared Republican candidates for president, told National Rifle Association members in Nashville that he’s fought the conservative battles, unlike his opponents.

“In a Republican primary, every candidate’s going to stand up and say, ‘I oppose Obamacare,’ ” Cruz said at the NRA’s annual meeting Friday. “The question we ought to ask is, ‘Great, when have you stood up and fought Obamacare?’ “

“Every candidate is going to say they don’t support amnesty. Alright, great. When have you stood up and fought to stop the president’s illegal and unconstitutional executive action?”

Ted Cruz then thanked the NRA for standing up to the liberal Democrat and Barack Obama’s knee-jerk reaction to the tragic Sandy Hook shooting massacre in Connecticut. Cruz said he was proud to stand with his friends Sens. Mike Lee and Rand Paul:

You know we all remember two years ago the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook. Every one of us whose parents it was heartbreaking to see those little children murdered by that lunatic and yet we also remember the president’s response.  President Obama had an opportunity then he could have tried to bring people together in a bipartisan manner to say let’s go after violent felons let’s go after criminals let’s protect our kids and stop the bad guys. But instead he used as an excuse to try to come after the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.  I gotta tell you in the weeks and months that followed Sandy Hook, if you guys were sitting in the Senate Republican lunch, you would have jumped out the window. Because the Senate was there was this is unstoppable this is a freight train it can’t be stopped let’s get out of the way and I’ll tell you I was proud to stand with my friends Mike Lee and Rand Paul in sending an sending a very short two sentence letter to Harry Reid that we said we will filibuster any legislation that undermines the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

What happened next is that it slowed the liberal Democrat anti-Second Amendment train down and shed the light as to what was happening and that Democrats were trying to take political advantage of a terrible and tragic incident. That is when citizen action took place.

And that’s when the men and women in this room began to take over. In the weeks that followed each if you and millions of Americans lit up the phones. It started with three of us by the end to the next week we were up to 17 senators on the letter. Then we had our first vote we needed to get to 41, we only got to 31. And all our friends in the media said up, you failed you only got to 31. But like any meaningful military conflict it’s rarely one on the first skirmish. That 31 was a whip count and suddenly each of you knew every senator that had voted against the Second Amendment and heaven on earth descended on those senators. And thanks to the passionate leadership of the men and women in this room when it came to the senate floor every single wanna President Obama’s proposals to undermine the Second Amendment was voted down on the Senate floor.

University of Michigan Cancels ‘American Sniper’ Screening … ‘Made Students Feel Unsafe’ (Update U-M football coach Jim Harbaugh To the Rescue, Movie Back On)

REALLY … Maybe the University of Michigan should change their name from the Wolverines to the “Weenies”.

AMERICA, DO YOU REALIZE YOU ARE BEING DESTROYED FROM WITHIN RIGHT?  University of Michigan spokesman Rick Fitzgerald confirmed to The College Fix on Tuesday the movie, American Sniper” was cancelled because it made students feel unsafe. GOOD GRIEF!!! Instead, the University was going to show Paddington the Bear.  What kind of gutless cowards exist on college campuses today that continually play the victim card? You people are going to do well in life, but then again, these are the same folks that live in your parents home until your 30. Hey Michigan, you might want to change your fight song to …  Hail! to the victors “victims” valiant. Hail! to the conqu’ring heroes “cowards”.

However,  University of Michigan sophomore Jason Weaver still has the right to call himself a Wolverine as he said, “It would be nice to see the university … take a stand against outrageous claims of ‘student exclusion. The film American Sniper in no way creates student exclusion any more than Saving Private Ryan”. You would be 100% correct. But we can’t have anything on a college campus that would properly depict radical Muslims Islamists as Nazi’s.

University: ‘While our intent was to show a film, the impact of the content was harmful, and made students feel unsafe and unwelcome at our program’

A scheduled movie screening of “American Sniper” at the University of Michigan was abruptly cancelled Tuesday after nearly 300 students and others complained the film perpetuates “negative and misleading stereotypes” against Muslims.

“The movie American Sniper not only tolerates but promotes anti-Muslim … rhetoric and sympathizes with a mass killer,” according to an online letter circulated among the campus community via Google Docs that garnered the signatures.

The signers were mostly students, but also some staff, as well as the Muslim Students’ Association and the president of Students Allied for Freedom and Equality, a Palestinian solidarity group at UMich.

The online memo, titled a “collective letter from Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) and Muslim students on campus,” accused the public university of “tolerating dangerous anti-Muslim and anti-MENA propaganda” by showing the movie, the highest grossing film of 2014.

follows U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who served four combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps commendation, according to his official Facebook page. But the protestors see him differently.

As reported at the Washington Free Beacon, more than 300 students protested the decision to screen the film because it advanced “negative and misleading stereotypes” against Muslims. The online petition was started by a “Palestinian solidarity group” called the Students Allied for Freedom and Equality and the Muslim Students’ Association. And the university folded like a cheap suit. Um, “negative and misleading stereotypes” … the actions depicted in American Sniper are the truth. I am so sorry if Muslim students can’t handle the truth … what do you think that radical Muslim Islamists act like? So is it a misleading stereotype to depict radical Muslim as savage, beheading murders?

For four months, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh’s Twitter feed has been a combination of entertainment, opponent tweaks and comments on his team.

Tonight, he walked into a university controversy.

On Tuesday, the university canceled a scheduled Friday night showing of the movie “American Sniper” due to pressure from Muslim and Arab students after a student-led petition drive challenged its depiction of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim sentiments.

After 9:30 p.m., Harbaugh weighed in, with a message to his 215,000 followers.

UPDATE II : U-M reverses course, will show ‘American Sniper’ … Gutless Weenie UM administration tries to save face. 

After a day filled with intense controversy, the University of Michigan reversed course late Wednesday night and decided to show the movie “American Sniper” at its originally scheduled time and place.

“It was a mistake to cancel the showing of the movie ‘American Sniper’ on campus as part of a social event for students,” the statement from E. Royster Harper, the vice president of student life, said. It was sent just after 10:45 p.m. to the media.

“The initial decision to cancel the movie was not consistent with the high value the University of Michigan places on freedom of expression and our respect for the right of students to make their own choices in such matters.

A special thanks goes out to all veterans from the bottom of our hearts to the men, women and their families who sacrifice themselves to protect our Liberties so that we may live in the land of the free, and most certainly, the home of the brave. To the men and women who presently serve and who have served in our Armed Forces … THANK YOU!!! Your service to our nation is truly appreciated and shall never be forgotten and should be forever celebrated.

We owe our veterans, those that would sacrifice their lives for ours our love, prayers and support throughout their lives. There should never be such things as VA scandals, our heroes should be put at the top of the list, not the bottom. Our nation should be forever thankful.
