The University of Florida’s Zeta Beta Tau Frat Under Investigation After Members Spit On Wounded Vets and Pissed on American Flag (Update: UF Suspends ZBT)
UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA ZETA BETA TAU FRAT SPIT AT WOUNDED VETS AND URINATED ON AMERICAN FLAG …
The University of Florida’s Zeta Beta Tau frat is under investigation after it was reported that members of their fraternity spit on wounded veterans and their service dogs and urinated on American flags. WTF is wrong with kids these days? The incident occurred at Panama Beach, gee what a shocker, when Zeta Beta Tau students from UF and Emory University were in Panama City Beach for their spring formal and wounded vets and their families were in town as well as part of the Warrior Beach Retreat. Panama City, FL gets another black eye. Is there any semblance of decorum in this town anymore? The University of Florida and Emory University should be embarrassed and ashamed of the actions of there frats. Personally, I believe they should be booted off campus and eliminated. This kind of conduct should never be tolerated. The UF ZBT frat was already on probation prior to this disgusting act. Sorry, they need to be gone, they obviously serve no functional purpose and have such contempt for wounded American heroes that have defended America’s freedom’s, including theirs.
The University of Florida’s chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity is under investigation after members spit on and took flags from wounded veterans.
Last weekend, Zeta Beta Tau students from UF and Emory University were in Panama City Beach for their spring formal. They were staying at the Laketown Wharf Resort where veterans were also staying for the Warrior Beach Retreat, according to Linda Cope, founder of the retreat.
For the past six years, the Warrior Beach Retreat has been hosted by Panama City Beach twice a year to bring in wounded veterans and their families.
Cope honors her son, Joshua, at the retreat — he lost both legs and his right hand after his vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Iraq, according to the retreat site.
Members of the University of Florida chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity are under investigation after spitting on and taking flags from wounded veterans. The students and veterans were in Panama City Beach when the incident occurred.
Cope said Zeta Beta Tau students picked on the veterans, spit on them and their service dogs, and urinated on American flags.
“In all of my years, I’ve never seen such debauchery and disrespect,” Cope said.
Linda Cope then received an email apology from UF President W. Kent Fuchs, Executive Director of the National Zeta Beta Tau Laurence A. Bolotin, but nothing from Emory University.
“I want to make clear that I am deeply sorry for the affront that our students may have caused,” Fuchs wrote in the email. “I want to assure you that it is not representative of our students or our university, and we will make every effort to learn more, take appropriate action and prevent similar incidents from occurring again.”
“The University of Florida is extremely concerned about allegations, specifically of illegal behavior with our students,” Sikes said. “We’re taking this matter vary seriously and opened an investigation to determined what happened and what we need to do in response.”
Executive Director of the National Zeta Beta Tau Laurence A. Bolotin, a University of Florida graduate from 2001, also wrote to Cope, stating Emory, UF and the international headquarters are fully cooperating with investigations and both chapters have placed themselves under suspension.
UPDATE I: The University of Florida has Suspended ZBT.
The University of Florida suspended one of its fraternities on Friday after allegations that its members hurled drunken insults and spat at a group of disabled military veterans at a Panama City Beach resort.
The school said on Friday that it is charging the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity with obscene behavior, public intoxication, theft, causing physical or other harm, and damage to property.
The suspension came after the fraternity had already suspended operations itself and expelled three of its members after finding they had behaved inappropriately.
“I am personally offended and disappointed by the behavior that has been described to me,” Dave Kratzer, the school’s student affairs vice president and retired U.S. Army major general, said in a statement.
UPDATE II: Emory University claims their Frat were angels.
Emory officials said they are investigating but so far there’s no evidence to implicate their students in the incident. Emory’s Zeta Beta Tau fraternity told CBS 46 in Atlanta they were shocked to learn of what they call “atrocious acts.”
But Cope told the station: “There were too many students from Emory for none of them to be involved. It is hard for me to believe that no Emory student was a part of this. This denial is a slap in the face of veterans.”
About 60 veterans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan were also attending a retreat that has been held twice a year for the past six years at the resort. Cope started the event in honor of her son Joshua, who lost both legs in Baghdad in 2006 when a roadside bomb exploded under his Humvee.
One letter to Fuchs described students spitting on veterans, throwing beer bottles over a balcony and ripping flags off their cars.
Cope said hotel security got the situation under control and the fraternity members were evicted the next morning. The fraternity sent a letter of apology to Cope.

Catholic Middle School Student Rose McGrath Who Battled Cancer Has Been Dismissed From St. Joseph Middle School Over Attendance & Academic Performance
SHAMEFUL, HOW CAN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN THIS COUNTRY BE SO FRIGGING IGNORANT … MIDDLE SCHOOL DISMISSES CANCER SURVIVOR.
In 2012 Rose McGrath was diagnoses with with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. For 2 1/2 years she has battled the dreaded disease and survived only to have to battle the ignorance of the educational school system in America. Rose McGrath was dismissed from St. Joseph Middle School, part of the Battle Creek Area Catholic School system, because of attendance and academic performance. UNREAL. How the hell do you dismiss a student when the reason why they have missed school is because of battling cancer, not just skipping school for the sake of doing it? Has the educational system lost its mind in this country? And this isn’t not even public school, it is a Catholic school. Have you no shame. no common sense, no compassion?
12 year old Rose McGrath said, “I didn’t do anything wrong, but they still got rid of me.”
Father John Fleckenstein, with Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools said the following, “These were extraordinary circumstances, but so many accommodations were made we felt eventually it became a point where we really had to help Rose, by being able to make sure that she was getting the assistance that she needed and to learn.” The parents disagree and stated that the school failed their child saying, “The accommodations which were made were woefully inadequate for a child with such a serious diagnosis.”
A young girl who has just finished fighting the biggest fight of her life has been dealt another blow.
In August 2012, Rose McGrath, of Battle Creek, was diagnosed with leukemia.
But last week, her family received a letter in the mail that would turn her world upside down.
The letter addressed concerns regarding Rose’s attendance and academic performance, and stated that Rose had been dismissed from St. Joseph Middle School.
“I didn’t do anything wrong, but they still got rid of me,” Rose said.
Rose McGrath is beside herself.
She’s been with the Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools all her life, but attending school got difficult when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2012.
“Even though she’s now done with her treatment you still have a very long recovery process because you’ve basically just put two and a half years of poison into your body. you’re not recovering overnight,” said Rose’s mother Barbara McGrath.
The McGraths say despite all of the obstacles, Rose was on track to pass her core classes.
Father John Fleckenstein and the St. Joseph Middle School should be ashamed of themselves. You call yourselves Christians? How in the hell do you let one of God’s children fall through the cracks after she had battled something as vile as acute lymphoblastic leukemia. How can the answer be to dismiss a child from school whose only crime was battling cancer. What kind of low life people are you?
The McGrath parents said they have filed a civil rights complaint on behalf of their daughter. Personally, I hope they sue this school and Father John Fleckenstein personally.
Let’s take a look at the St Josephs Middle School website and their mission statement.
Let me just say one thing to Father Fleckenstein, the school board and the Battle Creek area Catholic School system … JESUS CHRIST WOULD HAVE A HUGE ISSUE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND I HARDLY BELIEVE THAT DISMISSING A CANCER PATIENT IS IN LINE WITH CHRIST’S VALUES.
High expectations, Christ-centered values and morality are three of many of the characteristics that make the St. Joseph educational experience both unique and rewarding. There are special opportunities for middle-school-aged learners to best prepare them for high school and beyond.
We provide a safe and nurturing environment for your student which fosters life-long learning and faith development. Beyond academics, emphasis is placed upon technology integration—as technology is no longer an add-on in education; it is now an essential tool in the learning process. A wide variety of extracurricular offerings are offered; allowing each student to discover and develop their talents. Service is paramount at St. Joseph Middle School; with Jesus as our ultimate model of service. Students strive to follow in His footsteps by participation in thoughtful service projects that witness our Christian beliefs.
St. Joseph Middle School provides three years of opportunities to discover your unique academic strengths, explore your spirituality, deepen your commitment to social responsibility and prepare for high school and beyond.

Two Troy University Students, 23 Year Old Ryan Austin Calhoun & 22 Year Old Delonte’ Martistee Arrested for Gang Rape on Beach as Bystandsers Just Looked on in Panama City, FL
SPRING BREAK IN PANAMA CITY GETTING SICKER AND SICKER EVERY YEAR …
During a press conference last Friday, Bay County Sheriff’s Office officials announced the arrests of Delonte’ Martistee, 22, and Ryan Austin Calhoun, 23, both students of Troy University in Alabama, on charges in connection with a gang rape that occurred between March 10-12, 2015 on the beach. The rape that was witnessed by hundreds of people in broad daylight on Spring Break went initially unreported; however, the assault was captured on a cell phone video. Authorities learned of the assault when police in Troy, Alabama, discovered the video while investigating a shooting. The arrests stem from a video taken in March behind Spinnaker Beach Club, 8795 Thomas Drive where several men are surrounding an incapacitated young woman on a beach chair as no one lifted a finger to help her. Unbelievable, this is what today’s youth has come to.
Sheriff Frank McKeithen said during the presser, he likened the scene to “wild animals preying on a carcass laying in the woods” and called the video the “most disgusting, sickening thing” he has ever seen.
The initial incident went unreported, though it occurred in the presence of hundreds of witnesses on a crowded beach in broad daylight, leaving officials concerned with how much crime has gone unreported or ignored by visitors during Spring Break.
The arrests stem from a video taken in March behind Spinnaker Beach Club, 8795 Thomas Drive. Several men are surrounding an incapacitated young woman on a beach chair. As she tries to remove their hands from her genital region, utterances to the effect of “she isn’t going to know” can be heard from the men.
Sheriff Frank McKeithen fumed as he likened the scene to “wild animals preying on a carcass laying in the woods” and called the video the “most disgusting, sickening thing” he has ever seen.
If this is what happens in broad day light, could you only imagine what goes on at night? Sorry, I am no prude and have done Spring break myself back in the day, but this crap is just insane. The idea that raping an unconscious female is okay is revolting and even worse, no one did a damn thing to stop it.
“This is happening in broad daylight with hundreds of people seeing and hearing what is happening, and they are more concerned about spilling their beer than somebody being raped,” McKeithen said.
The video was obtained by Troy Police during an investigation into a shooting in the college town, officials said. Officers discovered the video while searching the phone of a witness to the shooting and contacted BCSO. Otherwise, the incident might have not been reported, McKeithen said.
The victim said she thought she had been drugged at the time, and she did not remember the incident enough to report it, she told BCSO.
“She knows something happened, but she doesn’t know what happened,” McKeithen said.
UPDATE I: Students suspended after charges in Panama City Beach sex assault.
Two Alabama college students have been suspended after authorities discovered a cellphone video that allegedly shows them sexually assaulting a woman at a Florida beach while a large crowd of spring-break revelers watches.
Both students attended Troy University.
Delonte Martistee, a 22-year-old senior from Bainbridge, Georgia, and Ryan Calhoun, a 23-year-old sophomore from Mobile, Alabama, were arrested Thursday in Alabama on Florida warrants. Martistee remained in jail Sunday in Panama City. Calhoun was released on bond.
The sheriff’s office said additional arrests are expected.
Back in Alabama, Troy University Dean of Student Services Herbert Reeves said Sunday that both students have been suspended. Martistee was also removed from the track and field team, he said.
The university athletic department’s official website lists Martistee as a former Bainbridge High School athlete who has competed for Troy in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. He was a Georgia high school state champion in the triple jump and participated in football, basketball and soccer in high school, according to the site.

University of Michigan Cancels ‘American Sniper’ Screening … ‘Made Students Feel Unsafe’ (Update U-M football coach Jim Harbaugh To the Rescue, Movie Back On)
REALLY … Maybe the University of Michigan should change their name from the Wolverines to the “Weenies”.
AMERICA, DO YOU REALIZE YOU ARE BEING DESTROYED FROM WITHIN RIGHT? University of Michigan spokesman Rick Fitzgerald confirmed to The College Fix on Tuesday the movie, American Sniper” was cancelled because it made students feel unsafe. GOOD GRIEF!!! Instead, the University was going to show Paddington the Bear. What kind of gutless cowards exist on college campuses today that continually play the victim card? You people are going to do well in life, but then again, these are the same folks that live in your parents home until your 30. Hey Michigan, you might want to change your fight song to … Hail! to the victors “victims” valiant. Hail! to the conqu’ring heroes “cowards”.
However, University of Michigan sophomore Jason Weaver still has the right to call himself a Wolverine as he said, “It would be nice to see the university … take a stand against outrageous claims of ‘student exclusion. The film American Sniper in no way creates student exclusion any more than Saving Private Ryan”. You would be 100% correct. But we can’t have anything on a college campus that would properly depict radical Muslims Islamists as Nazi’s.
What a sad state of affairs at our American Universities
University: ‘While our intent was to show a film, the impact of the content was harmful, and made students feel unsafe and unwelcome at our program’
A scheduled movie screening of “American Sniper” at the University of Michigan was abruptly cancelled Tuesday after nearly 300 students and others complained the film perpetuates “negative and misleading stereotypes” against Muslims.
“The movie American Sniper not only tolerates but promotes anti-Muslim … rhetoric and sympathizes with a mass killer,” according to an online letter circulated among the campus community via Google Docs that garnered the signatures.
The signers were mostly students, but also some staff, as well as the Muslim Students’ Association and the president of Students Allied for Freedom and Equality, a Palestinian solidarity group at UMich.
The online memo, titled a “collective letter from Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) and Muslim students on campus,” accused the public university of “tolerating dangerous anti-Muslim and anti-MENA propaganda” by showing the movie, the highest grossing film of 2014.
follows U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who served four combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps commendation, according to his official Facebook page. But the protestors see him differently.
As reported at the Washington Free Beacon, more than 300 students protested the decision to screen the film because it advanced “negative and misleading stereotypes” against Muslims. The online petition was started by a “Palestinian solidarity group” called the Students Allied for Freedom and Equality and the Muslim Students’ Association. And the university folded like a cheap suit. Um, “negative and misleading stereotypes” … the actions depicted in American Sniper are the truth. I am so sorry if Muslim students can’t handle the truth … what do you think that radical Muslim Islamists act like? So is it a misleading stereotype to depict radical Muslim as savage, beheading murders?
UPDATE I: Jim Harbaugh endorses ‘American Sniper’ after U-M cancels showing
THAN YOU COACH HARBAUGH … FINALLY SOME GUTS COME TO ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN!!!
For four months, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh’s Twitter feed has been a combination of entertainment, opponent tweaks and comments on his team.
Tonight, he walked into a university controversy.
On Tuesday, the university canceled a scheduled Friday night showing of the movie “American Sniper” due to pressure from Muslim and Arab students after a student-led petition drive challenged its depiction of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim sentiments.
After 9:30 p.m., Harbaugh weighed in, with a message to his 215,000 followers.
UPDATE II : U-M reverses course, will show ‘American Sniper’ … Gutless Weenie UM administration tries to save face.
After a day filled with intense controversy, the University of Michigan reversed course late Wednesday night and decided to show the movie “American Sniper” at its originally scheduled time and place.
“It was a mistake to cancel the showing of the movie ‘American Sniper’ on campus as part of a social event for students,” the statement from E. Royster Harper, the vice president of student life, said. It was sent just after 10:45 p.m. to the media.
“The initial decision to cancel the movie was not consistent with the high value the University of Michigan places on freedom of expression and our respect for the right of students to make their own choices in such matters.
