Police press conference naming the suspect and victim in Purdue University Shooting

CNN:

A gunman shot and killed another man Tuesday inside Purdue University’s electrical engineering building, spurring worried students to scramble into the bitter cold outside for safety.

The Indiana school’s police chief said that the suspect appeared to have had just one target in mind. He left the building right after the shooting, and a city police officer arrested him.

“This appears to be an isolated and intentional act,” Purdue Police Chief John Cox said. “…The victim appeared to have been targeted by the suspect, and it was no more and no less than that.”

Cox identified the victim as Andrew Boldt, a 21-year-old senior from West Bend, Wisconsin, who also worked at the school as a teaching assistant.

The suspect is Cody Cousins, a 23-year-old student in Purdue’s college of engineering who now is “booked on a preliminary charge of murder,” according to the police chief.

Youth Misery Index at All-Time High Under Barack Obama … But I am Sure He Will Blame Republicans

Add another accomplishment to Barack Obama … Hardly ‘Hope and Change’ for the Youth.

The Youth Misery Index hits all-time high under Barack Obama. In 2009 when Obama took office, the YMI was at m 83.5; however, has skyrocketed to 98.6 in 2013. This represents an 18.1% increase since Obama took office. But Obama claims he is for the youth of America and the youth continue foolishly vote for him in large numbers.  The index is calculated by adding youth unemployment and average college loan debt figures with each person’s share of the national debt. And before Obama and his minions blame Bush, when President George Bush left office in 2008, the index was 69.3.

A Youth Misery Index that measures young Americans’ woes has skyrocketed under President Barack Obama and hit an all-time high.

The index, released Wednesday, was calculated by adding youth unemployment and average college loan debt figures with each person’s share of the national debt. While it has steadily grown over the decades, under Obama the figure has shot up dramatically, from 83.5 in 2009 to 98.6 in 2013.

The index has increased by 18.1 percent since Obama took office, the highest increase under any president, making Obama the worst president for youth economic opportunity, according to the nonprofit that released the figure.

“Young people are suffering under this economy,” said Ashley Pratte, program officer for Young America’s Foundation, which developed the index and calculates it annually using federal statistics. “They’re still living in their parent’s basements, unable to find full-time jobs that pay them what they need in order to pay back their debt.”

Youth unemployment in 2013 was 16.3 percent, and student loan debt came in at a record-breaking average of $29,400 last year, the foundation points out; what’s more, each person’s share of the roughly $17 trillion dollar national debt stands at its highest level ever: $52,948.

Sorry, but what Obama has done to the youth of America should be considered a crime … Can he be charged with child abuse? How about Generational theft?

20 Year Old Harvard Student Eldo Kim Arrested & Charged in Connection with Monday’s Bomb Threat … Tried to Dodge Final Exam with Bomb Hoax

So someone at Harvard … this was pretty stupid …

20 year old Harvard student, Eldo Kim, has been charged in connection with the bomb threats Monday that evacuated four buildings on the Harvard campus and caused the cancellation of final exams. It appears that Kim made the false bomb threats in order to get out of taking his final exam. As reported at NBC News, the affidavit said Kim emailed bomb threats to several Harvard offices, including the campus police and the student newspaper, about 8:30 a.m. ET Monday. Kim was scheduled to take a final exam in Emerson Hall 9:00 a.m. on December 16, 2013. The maximum penalties under the bomb hoax statute, are five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

A Harvard student has been charged in connection with Monday’s bomb threats which shut down four Harvard buildings and canceled finals for many students.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says Eldo Kim, 20, of Cambridge, emailed several bomb threats to offices associated with Harvard University, including the Harvard University Police Department and the Harvard Crimson, the student-run daily newspaper.

Kim will be in US District Court Wednesday.

There will be no winter break for Eldo Kim, except for a stay in the crowbar hotel.

Instead of going home for winter break, 20-year-old Eldo Kim was arrested Tuesday and held overnight on federal bomb hoax charges. He is scheduled to appear in US District Court on Wednesday, according to US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz’s office.

The FBI said Kim sent an anonymous e-mail to Harvard officials, campus police, and others at about 8:30 a.m. Monday warning of “shrapnel bombs” in four buildings.

“[Be] quick for they will go off soon,” the message warned, according to the FBI, which said Kim admitted to adding the word “shrapnel” because it sounded more dangerous.

UPDATE I: Kim Reportedly Admitted to FBI that he was the one who sent the emails.

He reportedly admitted to FBI investigators that he was the one who sent the emails. Kim tried to conceal his identity using one service that assigns people anonymous IP addresses and another that creates an anonymous and temporary email account, according to the federal complaint.

Kim was allegedly “motivated by a desire to avoid a final exam scheduled to be held on December 16,” the complaint states.
