Hundreds of thousands of protesters in Ukraine took to the streets in another mass demonstration of anger against President Viktor F. Yanukovich’s decision to break off negotiations with the European Union. They toppled the statue of Communist leader Lenin in a symbolic demonstration and then took a sledgehammer to it.

Public protests thundered into a full-throttle civil uprising in Ukraine on Sunday, as hundreds of thousands of protesters answered President Viktor F. Yanukovich’s dismissiveness with their biggest rally so far, demanding that he and his government resign.

At the height of the unrest on Sunday night, a seething crowd toppled and smashed a statue of Lenin, the most prominent monument to the Communist leader in Kiev. The act was heavy with symbolism, underscoring the protesters’ rage at Russia over its role in the events that first prompted the protests: Mr. Yanukovich’s abrupt refusal to sign sweeping political and free-trade agreements with the European Union.

After an electrifying assembly in Independence Square in the center of Kiev, the main focus of the protests, the huge crowd surged across the capital, erecting barriers to block the streets around the presidential headquarters and pitching huge tents in strategic intersections. They were not challenged by the police, who have largely disengaged since their bloody crackdown on a group of protesters on Nov. 30 sharply increased outrage at the government.

Interestingly enough, as those in the Ukraine tear down the statue of Lenin, many think that US President Barack Obama is looking to erect it.

What a Message from Portland, Oregan … City Shuts Down 11 Year Old Madison Root Selling Mistletoe to Fund Braces, But OK to Beg for Money

WELCOME TO A LACK OF COMMON SENSE FROM PORTLAND, OR … 

All 11 yer old Madison Root wanted to do was help her dad pay for her braces that were going to cost $4800 by selling  mistletoe. It’s Christmas time, what better gift to sell than freshly picked mistletoe in a cute package with a red bow? Well, one would think. That was until she decided to see her mistletoe next to the Skidmore Fountain in Downtown Portland, Oregon and a private security guard asked Madison to stop selling because city ordinance bans commerce like that without proper approval. UNREAL … papers, where are your papers!!!

I am sure this was the intent of the ordinance and it was meant for 11 year old’s. More so, I am sure this is what Our Founding Fathers had intended when forming this great nation. But in this day and age government interference and regulation have increased so much that they would squash a little girl’s efforts and entrepreneurial spirit to help her dad pay for her braces. Especially, in this day and age when we hear stories of so many young kids that just expect things, Madison wanted to help. Oh yea, did we tell you that Madison Root was not allowed to sell her mistletoe without approval, but it would have been OK for her to beg. There is a message to teach the young.

She’s hoping to raise money to chip in for her braces. The dentist says they’ll cost $4,800.

“I felt like I could help my dad with the money,” she said.

Madison and her dad bagged up the mistletoe and started selling them next to the Skidmore Fountain in Downtown Portland on Saturday morning.

That’s also where the Portland Saturday Market holds its weekly venue.

A private security guard asked Madison to stop selling because city ordinance bans commerce like that without proper approval.

“I wouldn’t think I’d have any problems because people are asking for money, people are selling stuff, this is a public place,” said Madison.

And she’s right — to a point.

In fact, we saw people protesting, hold signs, playing music, and begging all over the area on Sunday morning as well.

The Saturday Market is incredibly diverse.

You can buy whistles, order crepes and sign a marijuana petition all without walking more than ten steps.

But you can’t open a business without going through the market’s formal application process. The market sets rules for vendors which Madison agrees make sense.

Begging is different.

President Barack Obama Says He Won’t Balance Budget ‘Just for the Sake of Balance’ … In Other Words, He Will Never Balance It!

File the following under something we did not know … Barack Obama has no intention of ever balancing the budget.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, President Barack Obama rejected calls to balance the federal budget, as set forth by Rep. Paul Ryan (WI-R) in his recently released budget, in the next ten years and instead argued that his primary economic concern was not balancing the budget, but rather growing the economy. HUH? Growing the economy, how does this socialist, anti-capitalist, over-regulating president plan on doing this? What a shock, Barack Obama has returned back to his fear mongering and smear tactics after Paul Ryan released a responsible way to provide growth and reduce the budget. Let’s face it, Obama has no idea what he is doing with the economy and does not plan to reduce the deficit, because he is the one who has mainly helped in creating this $16 trillion and counting debt. The only growth that Obama knows is the record number of Americans on food stamps.

 Obama, I plan on balancing the budget this much.

My goal is not to chase a balanced budget just for the sake of balance. My goal is how do we grow the economy, put people back to work, and if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue,” he said. Obama rejected a proposal put forth by Rep. Paul Ryan today that would balance the budget in ten years, saying the Republican House member’s plan “slashes deeply” at programs like Medicaid.

Instead, Obama went back to his more comfortable demonization and “Divider” in Chief, community agitator mode and told George Stephanopoulos that Ryan and Republicans are attempting to balance the budget on the backs of the poor, the elderly, students. So much for the “offensive charm”, welcome back the blame and division of America. So I guess Obama is trying to destroy America on the fronts of the poor, elderly and students? Just wondering, what ever happened to shared sacrifice and everyone is supposed to have skin in the game, including the poor, elderly and students?

We’re not gonna balance the budget in ten years because if you look at what Paul Ryan does to balance the budget, it means that you have to voucher-ize Medicare, you have to slash deeply into programs like Medicaid, you’ve essentially got to — either tax — middle class families a lot higher than you currently are, or you can’t lower rates the way he’s promised,” the president told me. “So it’s really, you know, it’s a reprise of the same legislation that he’s put before.” “If we controlled spending and we have a smart entitlement package, then potentially what you have is balance — but it is not balance to, on the backs of the poor, the elderly, students who need student loans, families that have disabled kids. That is not the right way to balance,” he said.

 As we are reminded by the WAPO, Obama plans to release his own budget plan in April, two months after the president is required to announce his budget priorities to Congress. Far be it from Obama to actually perform the required duties of his office. Yet another case of leading from behind as Obama will first see the Ryan and Senate Democrat plan before he puts together his own. Like he would know how to create a budget in the first place. With this deficit $trillion spending president, it is akin to an alcoholic penning his own “what I will not drink today” plan.

Another Accomplishment for Barack Obama … Americans See Biggest Monthly Income Drop in 20 years As Obama Adds $6 Trillion to National Debt

Americans saw their income drop so dramatically in January that it marked the deepest one-month decline in 20 years. Of course the bias MSM will have you believe that it is merely a coincidence that this occurred on Obama’s watch. It was Obama’s tax the so-called rich agenda that made corporations pay  out early dividends to avoid the upcoming Obama tax hikes. It was Obama’s refusal to extend the payroll tax cuts that made  most workers (including the middle class that Obama claims to care about) had  to pay 2% more in taxes this year.

Americans saw their income drop so dramatically in January that it marked the deepest one-month decline in 20 years.

Personal income decreased by $505.5 billion in January, or 3.6%, compared to December (on a seasonally adjusted and annualized basis). That’s the most dramatic decline since January 1993, according to the Commerce Department.

All this as Barack Obama added $6 Trillion to the National Debt.

Since President Barack Obama took office in January 2009, more than $6 trillion dollars has been added to the national debt.

“Without fanfare, the Bureau of Public Debt at the Treasury Department quietly posted its daily debt report showing the total public debt of the U.S. government topped $16.687 trillion. (To be exact: $16,687,289,180,215.37),” reports Mark Knoller of CBS. [debt clock]

“On January 20, 2009, the day Mr. Obama took office, the debt stood at $10.626 trillion. The latest posting reflects an increase of over $6 trillion.”

And debt is expected to increase by nearly another trillion this year. “Nevertheless, the Office of Management and Budget projects the national debt will continue to increase by over $800 billion this year and by amounts in the range of $500 billion to $800 billion in the out years – all of which will add to the national debt.”

Economy Surges in America’s Low Tax, Energy Rich, Pro-Business Red State Growth Corridors … Obamanomics Disproved Yet Again

It is no coincidence that “RED” states with energy rich, low taxes and less oppressive government regulation are showing an economic growth in the United States as liberal “blue” states like California and Massachusetts are not. The trends show that the U.S. economic future is dominated by four growth corridors that are generally less dense, more affordable, and markedly more conservative and pro-business: the Great Plains, the Intermountain West, the Third Coast, spanning the Gulf states from Texas to Florida, and the Southeastern industrial belt. When businesses move to these areas for economic reasons, the people will follow. Imagine that, what a novel concept. Areas that are low in taxes, pro-business, energy rich states that are not afraid to unleash capitalism are a success. What do most all of the states have in common, they are “Red” states.

In the wake of the 2012 presidential election, some political commentators have written political obituaries of the “red” or conservative-leaning states, envisioning a brave new world dominated by fashionably blue bastions in the Northeast or California. But political fortunes are notoriously fickle, while economic trends tend to be more enduring.

These trends point to a U.S. economic future dominated by four growth corridors that are generally less dense, more affordable, and markedly more conservative and pro-business: the Great Plains, the Intermountain West, the Third Coast (spanning the Gulf states from Texas to Florida), and the Southeastern industrial belt.

Overall, these corridors account for 45% of the nation’s land mass and 30% of its population. Between 2001 and 2011, job growth in the Great Plains, the Intermountain West and the Third Coast was between 7% and 8%—nearly 10 times the job growth rate for the rest of the country. Only the Southeastern industrial belt tracked close to the national average.

More interesting data pointed out by Instapundit showing the migration of the population away from the high tax states. Their fear though is that will the migration of blue state liberals ruin the places to where they are going to as they have devastated the Northeast and states like California and Illinois. My personal opinion is no. The moochers and leeches will stay put looking for a government hands and entitlements. Those who are tired of the high taxes and liberal oppression are the ones who are looking for greener pastures. Or should I say “red” state pastures.

Since 2000, the Intermountain West’s population has grown by 20%, the Third Coast’s by 14%, the long-depopulating Great Plains by over 14%, and the Southeast by 13%. Population in the rest of the U.S. has grown barely 7%. Last year, the largest net recipients of domestic migrants were Texas and Florida, which between them gained 150,000. The biggest losers? New York, New Jersey, Illinois and California.
