The more James Comey talks. the less credible he sounds. What becomes obvious is that there was a total double standard when it came to the Trump and Hillary Clinton investigations. It is chilling that he can’t see it. Comey doen’t think he leaked , does sneaky things or does weasily things. Guilty on all counts.

Three Big Takeaways from Bret Baier’s Thorough Grilling of James Comey:

(1.) “What do you mean?” asks an incredulous Baier when Comey says he can’t say for sure that the DNC and Clinton campaign funded the salacious dossier.  Comey clarifies that he’s only heard media reports to that effect, but can’t be certain they’re true.  How is that possible?  First of all, the provenance of that file, and who paid for it, has been an established fact for months.  Comey was in an unique position to know basically everything about the dossier, upon which he at least partially relied (his answer on this point struck me as slippery and conflicts with other information) to secure surveillance on a former Trump campaign associate.  He claims he knew it was furnished by people opposed to Donald Trump, but never knew their specific identities.  Really?  Either that’s false or he was strangely and perhaps deliberately under-informed about key details behind a crucial oppo-research file that he exploited to achieve important investigative ends.  As for his assertion that Steele’s anti-Trump work was originally paid for by Republicans, this is a Democratic talking point that has long been debunked, as Baier notes.  Conservative figures did employ Fusion GPS for a time to gather research on Trump, but they did not fund Steele or his dossier.  As Byron York says, “given its importance in Trump-Russia probe and his own relationship with the president, James Comey’s ignorance of some basic facts about the dossier is stunning.”

(2.) On the Clinton email scandal probe, Comey defends his actions over the course of that process — persuasively at times, and less so at others.  His explanation of his judgments about Clinton’s criminal intent wasn’t terribly compelling to me.  Baier plays a montage of Comey confirming multiple lies Clinton told about her improper and national security-compromising email scheme, essentially asking how intentional deceit about arguably illegal conduct doesn’t signal intent (Trey Gowdy made the same point).  Comey responds that Clinton lying to the media and the American people isn’t the same as lying to the FBI.  That’s true as a legal matter, but lying to the FBI wasn’t the core potential crime under scrutiny; gross negligence in handling classified materials was.  Was Clinton merely sloppy (or ‘really sloppy,’ as Comey puts it in the interview), or did she have an ulterior motive for her reckless set-up, of which she was well aware and calculating? Her repeated public lies about her actions suggest the latter.  That ought to be the relevant standard on divining intent within that context, in my view.  Plus, “sloppiness” does not explain the lengths to which she went to bypass the rules and accountability, nor does it cover the knowing falsehoods and evidence destruction she engaged in when caught.

(3) In my earlier Comey-related post, I mentioned the theory that the decision to brief President-elect Trump only about the most prurient aspect of the dossier (regarding Russian prostitutes) was a set-up to offer a “news hook” to media outlets eager to run with the story.  Baier put this theory to Comey, who said he didn’t leak about that briefing to anyone, adding that former Obama intelligence official James Clapper didn’t either, to his knowledge.  The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway pieced together and floated this idea a week ago:

For nearly a year Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been trying to find evidence of collusion between Russian and Donald Trump and has discovered butkis. Now, with Mueller floundering to find any crimes to pin on Trump, FBI former #2 Andrew McCabe in hot water after the DOJ’s Inspector General, FBI’s former #1 being looked at for leaking classified info, the deep state being exposed … we get this classic that the DNC is suing Russia, WikiLeaks and Trump campaign for interference in the 2016 election. UNREAL. They LEFT just cannot accept that they lost to Trump. The DNC is seeking recompense for what it says was millions of dollars in damages from Russia’s hacking of its internal emails, which were then published by WikiLeaks, with the encouragement of then-candidate Trump and his campaign. REALLY? This from the same people who never let the FBI examine their servers after the so-called hack. What were they afraid of, that is was an inside job?

The Democratic Party on Friday sued President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, the Russian government and the Wikileaks group, claiming a broad illegal conspiracy to help Trump win the 2016 election.

The multimillion-dollar lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court says that “In the Trump campaign, Russia found a willing and active partner in this effort” to mount “a brazen attack on American Democracy,” which included Russian infiltration of the Democratic Party computer network.

The Trump campaign, according to the lawsuit, “gleefully welcomed Russia’s help.”

The suit says that “preexisting relationships with Russia and Russian oligarchs” with Trump and Trump associates “provided fertile ground for [the] Russia-Trump conspiracy.”

The common purpose of the scheme, according to the Democratic National Committee, was to “bolster Trump and denigrate the Democratic Party nominee,” Hillary Clinton, while boosting the candidacy of Trump, “whose policies would benefit the Kremlin.”

Tom Perez, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said the party’s suit “is not partisan, it’s patriotic.”

The DNC is playing a very dangerous game. They are in full on “resistance” mode all they time, which is growing really old. I have one thing to say to the DCN, you better be prepared for “discovery”. Maybe we will find out once and for all that they DNC was not hacked, but an inside job. The Democrats have nothing but to cause chaos. I cannot wait for this to backfire on them. Yesterday Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was front and center before a joint Senate committee answering questions regarding Facebook practices as to user information privacy and their obvious pattern of political bias. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) asked, are you a neutral public forum or are you engaged in political speech? Sen.  Cruz then went on to point out to Mr. Zuckerberg that many Americans are concerned that Facebook is biased against conservatives. Cruz went on to ask why Facebook suppressed conservative news and why Facebook shut down certain pages it deems controversial, naming examples such as as “Chick-fil-A appreciation day” page, a post from a Fox News reporter, and Trump supporter Diamond and Silk’s Facebook page. Facebook deemed Diamond and Silk’s Facebook page, two black conservative women, to be unsafe to the community.

Questioning Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at a Senate hearing Tuesday, the Republican senator and former GOP presidential candidate said that to many people there “appears to be a pervasive pattern of political bias” after some conservative pages were taken down from the platform. In a series of pointed questions, Cruz asked Zuckerberg if he had tracked the political affiliations of his employees.

Zuckerberg said he had not. But he noted that the company is based in left-leaning Silicon Valley, and said “it is a fair concern.”

Finally, Facebook has been outed for what they truly are, a liberal, Left-wing, bias media platform. Facebook and Zuckerberg are not interested at all with a platform of all ideas. If that was the case there would not be so many examples of right leaning web sites being penalized by Facebook and even taken down. Zuckerberg could not come up with one example of a Left leaning site that was treated the same. Imagine that?

The senator cited the 2016 controversy over how Facebook editors handled conservative-leaning political news in the trending topics feature. He also questioned why Facebook shut down certain pages it deems controversial, naming examples such as as “Chick-fil-A appreciation day” page, a post from a Fox News reporter, and Trump supporter Diamond and Silk’s Facebook page.

“Senator, let me say a few things about this. First, I understand where that concern is coming from because Facebook and the tech industry are located in the Silicon Valley which is an extremely left-leaning place,” Zuckerberg said, addressing Cruz. “And this is actually a concern that I have and that I try to route out in the company — is making sure that we don’t have any bias in the work that we do.

He added that it was a “fair concern” before Cruz cut Zuckerberg off to ask if any left-leaning pages, like those of Planned Parenthood, Moveon.org, or Democratic candidates, had been shut down by Facebook.

Zuckerberg said he was “not specifically aware” of any pages that may or may not have been shut down.

Cruz pointed out that Facebook has 15,000 to 20,000 people working on security and content review, and asked if Zuckerberg was aware of those employees’ political orientations.

“No, Senator, we do not generally ask people about their political orientation when they are joining the company,” Zuckerberg replied.

The two-time Oscar winner’s 176-page fiction, titled Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff, is about a ‘modern American man, entrepreneur, and part-time assassin’.

Toward the end of the novel, Honey admits himself into a hospital and writes a letter to the president of the United States, who is eerily similar to Donald Trump but goes by the name, Mr Landlord.

He writes: ‘Many wonderful American people in pain and rage elected you. Many Russians did too. Your position is an asterisk accepted as literally as your alternative facts.

‘Though the office will remain real, you never were nor will be. A million women so dwarfed your penis-edency on the streets of Washington and around the world on the day of your piddly inauguration – unprecedented (spelling ok?).’

The character says that those against Mr Landlord ‘own the most powerful weapons on earth’ which include ‘dreams, the science of physics, seismology, geology, topography, and typhoons’.

Honey continues: ‘Your gasconade and cache of catchphrases, so limiting and reflexive, escalate the emasculation of you by a world whose patience is in nuclear peril. These sciences and sensibilities are our guns your narcissism neglects.

‘Weapons your NRA masters are incapable of proffering for profit, and outside your dutiful military’s might, mandate or mission.

‘So to your attempt to posthumously assassinate our Founding Fathers, and bait and switch your core, I say I will eat where the fish are glowing.

Winfrey had the crowd of Hollywood’s biggest stars on their feet and in tears with her moving words and promise that “a new day is dawning.” She was surprised to hear the immediate response the rest of the country had.

The real question is does The View’s Joy Behar think that Oprah has a mental disease also? Isn’t it the LEFT to preaches liberal tolerance? Everything of course except Conservative Christians. But what about liberal Christians? Just yet another liberal double standard.
