Metro Police Officer Shot in Hand Near Tropicana & Nellis Boulevards in East Las Vegas, NV (Update: Hispanic Suspect in Custody)

ANOTHER POLICE OFFICER SHOT … DO POLICE LIVES MATTER?

There has been yet another shooting of a police officer. This time the shooting occurred at about 12:10 p.m. Sunday, near Tropicana and Nellis boulevards. According to the authorities, a man approached the squad car and fired with a semi-automatic handgun at the two officers inside the vehicle. One officer has hit it the hand and taken to the hospital. The officers then exited the vehicle and were able to apprehend the suspect outside a 7-Eleven.

UPDATE I:  Metro Sgt. John Sheahan said two officers were heading to a disturbance call headed northbound on Tropicana and stopped at a red light to turn westbound on Tropicana when they were approached by a man with a semi-automatic handgun who began firing on them. He said one officer was hit in the hand and the other officer was able to chase the suspect a short distance before apprehending him. Sheahan said it appears that the officers did not fire any shots. The suspect is being questioned at the scene. Officers have been doubled up with two in each car since Friday’s shooting in an order made by Sheriff Joe Lombardo.

UPDATE II: At a news conference in front of UMC earlier today, Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said, “You know we just had another officer shot a couple of days ago. It’s a rough time for our officers. We have already changed some of our deployment strategies as we have two-officer units out there today because of the narrative of violence against police across the country and certainly because of what we have seen here (in Las Vegas). That’s four of my officers that have been shot this year. It gets old. It’s tiring. Those men and women are out there trying to do the best that they can to provide service to this community; certainly the one solace that they can take is the vast majority of this community is behind this police department and we know that.”

Crazed Gunman Fatally Shoots WBDJ7 Reporter & Camara Man in Middle of Live TV Interview – VIDEO (Update: Victims Allison Parker & Adam Ward)(Update: Shooter ID’s as Vester Flanagan, Also used the name Bryce Williams)

HORRIFIC MURDER OF REPORTER AND CAMERAMAN AS THEY DID A LIVE O AIR INTERVIEW …

It is something that one would never think they would see. In the middle of a live TV interview, a WDBJ reporter and her cameraman were shot dead. This did not take place in Iraq or Afghanistan, the double live on air murder took place in Virginia. The shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. at Bridgewater Plaza in Franklin County, as Parker interviewed Gardner about the upcoming 50th anniversary festivities for Smith Mountain Lake, a local tourism destination. The murder victims were reporter Victims Allison Parker and her camera man Adam Ward. The individual who was being interviewed, Vicki Gardner, executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, was shot in the back, and transported to the hospital.

The live spot by reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward was nothing out of the ordinary: They were interviewing a local official at an outdoor shopping mall for a tourism story. Then, at about 6:45 a.m., morning show viewers saw her suddenly scream and run, crying “Oh my God,” as she fell. Ward fell, too, and the camera he had been holding on his shoulder captured a fleeting image of the suspect holding a handgun.

WDBJ quickly switched back to the anchor at the station, her eyes large and jaw dropping as she said, “OK, not sure what happened there.” The station later went live again, reporting on their own staff as the story developed.

WARNING – This is the live video when the shooting took place

UPDATE I: WDBJ Newsroom Reacts Emotionally to On-Air Deaths of Reporter, Photographer as Tragic Personal Details Are Revealed

On the air, several shocked WDBJ-TV anchors reacted to the tragedy and remembered the victims:

“We realize, we cover stories of people being shot all the time, and so now we realize firsthand what so many of you have sadly gone through,” one of the anchors said as she fought back tears. “That when it’s someone you know; and someone you love and care about; and someone you work with day in and day out; and someone so young, it makes it so tough.”

UPDATE II: Parker and Ward died at the scene. Their interview subject, Vicki Gardner, was in stable condition later Wednesday after surgery for her wounds.

On Wednesday, after Parker and Ward’s deaths, Twitter and Facebook accounts under the name Bryce Williams shared graphic video of the shooting filmed from the perspective of the gunman. However, after sharing the videos, his Facebook and Twitter accounts were later suspended.

UPDATE III: Here’s What We Know About The Man Who murdered  Allison Parker & Adam Ward.

Vester Flanagan, who also used the name Bryce Williams, was a former TV reporter for WDBJ. He uploaded videos online showing himself fatally shooting WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward on Wednesday.

The man who authorities said fatally shot Virginia reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward during a live broadcast Wednesday before killing himself is a former television reporter for the same station.

Vester Lee Flanagan II, 41, who also used the name Bryce Williams, was employed at WDBJ-TV between 2012 and 2013 as a multimedia journalist, the station’s general manager, Jeff Marks, said.

Speaking Wednesday on air, his former WDBJ colleagues said that Bryce Williams was the name he used on television.

“Vester was an unhappy man. We employed him as a reporter and he had some talent in that respect and some experience,” Marks said. “He quickly gathered a reputation of someone who was difficult to work with. He was sort of looking out to people to say things he could take offense to. Eventually, after many incidents of his anger, we dismissed him. He did not take that well. We had to call police to escort him from the building.”

The chamber of commerce executive shot during a live news broadcast in Virginia was in stable condition Wednesday after undergoing emergency surgery, officials said.

Vicki Gardner, executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, was shot in the back, said Barb Nocera, the chamber’s special projects manager.

Gardner was recovering at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, hospital president Steve Arner said. Gardner is also a member of the hospital’s board of directors and is “a close friend” of the institution, he said in a statement.

Illegal immigrant Juan Emmanuel Razo Previosuly Ordered Freed by Feds … Now Suspected of Rape and Murder in Ohio

IS THIS STORY STARTING TO SOUND ALL TOO FAMILIAR … WAS THIS GUY A DREAMER TOO?

35 year old illegal immigrant Juan Emmanuel Razo is under arrest after murdering one woman, wounding another and attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl. As if that does not sound bad enough as this individual had no business being in the United States, it gets worse, if possible. U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents told Ohio sheriff’s deputies weeks ago not to detain a man who is in the U.S. illegally.  On July 7, Lake County sheriff’s deputies questioned Juan Emmanuel Razo after finding him alone in a car in Painesville, about 30 miles east of Cleveland. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents told Ohio sheriff’s deputies weeks ago not to detain a man who is in the U.S. illegally because he had not committed a crime. Of course for some reason, being in the US is not longer considered being a crime. A note to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, how about now? Is it a crime to commit attempted murder, murder and rape? You have blood on your hands.

An illegal immigrant suspected of murdering one woman, wounding another and attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl was released earlier this month by Ohio sheriff’s deputies after U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents told them not to hold him, law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

Juan Emmanuel Razo, 35, was arrested Monday after a shootout with police following a crime spree police say began with the attempted rape of a girl in a park in Painesville, about 30 miles northeast of Cleveland. He later shot a woman in front of her children and murdered a 60-year-old woman in nearby Concord Township, according to police. While Razo is being held on $10 million bond, authorities are trying to explain why he was allowed to remain in the U.S. illegally after local authorities questioned him just three weeks ago.

“I have somebody who we don’t know who he is, why he is in this country, why he is here illegally and why he allegedly committed a murder,” Painesville Municipal Court Judge Michael Cicconetti thundered at Razo’s arraignment, noting the suspect has no green card, birth certificate or driver’s license.

A detective said during the arraignment that Razo has confessed to the deadly, one-day crime spree in the quiet Lake Erie town. Police began seeking Razo late Monday morning after the girl described him to police and said he had tried to rape her. Hours later, he allegedly shot a 40-year-old woman in the arm as she walked with her two children along a bike path and an hour after that, a man told park rangers he’d found his wife, 60-year-old Margaret Kostelnik, shot to death in their home near the bike path.

Officials: Ohio crime spree suspect was in U.S. illegally.

Razo has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 40-year-old woman Monday afternoon as she walked with her two children along a bike path in Concord Township. She was shot in the arm. Just over an hour later, a man told park rangers he’d found his wife, 60-year-old Margaret Kostelnik, shot to death in their home near the bike path.

The Lake County coroner said Kostelnik was shot multiple times.

The manhunt for Razo began late Monday morning after a 14-year-old girl told police he had tried to rape her in another section of the park. The Lake County prosecutor said evidence in the slaying of Kostelnik and the attempted rape will be presented to a grand jury.

UPDATE I: Authorities have located what they believe is the gunman’s car.

Officials said it appears the gunman entered the theater alone, and there is no threat to the public.”We don’t believe there’s anybody else involved,” Louisiana State Police Col. Michael Edmonson told reporters.

Authorities have located what they believe is the gunman’s car and called in the bomb squad after “suspicious” items were seen inside, Louisiana State Police Col. Michael Edmonson told reporters.

Katie Domingue, who was in the theater, told The Daily Advertiser newspaper that “an older white man” began shooting about 20 minutes into the movie.

“He wasn’t saying anything,” Domingue said. “I didn’t hear anybody screaming, either.”

Keifer Sanders told MSNBC TV that he was in another theater when “the screen went black,” alarms sounded and the audience was shepherded out the emergency exit.

Gov. Bobby Jindal praised the actions of two teachers inside the theater who performed what he called acts of heroism as gunfire erupted: A teacher leaped to protect another, potentially saving her life, and the second managed to pull the fire alarm, he said.

“Both teachers ended up shot. The second one, the one whose life was saved, even though she was shot in the leg she had the presence of mind to pull the fire alarm to help save other lives,” he said.

James Holmes Convicted of First Degree Murder in 2012 Colorado Movie Theater Massacre in Aurora, Colorado

GUILTY!!!

A jury has convicted James Holmes of First degree murder in the 2012 attack on defenseless movie goers in Aurora, Colorado where 12 people were killed. The jury also found Holmes guilty of attempted murder on all of the 140 counts against him for the 70 people wounded in the shooting. Hopefully, the next step will be that James Holmes is sentenced to death.

Jurors convicted Colorado theater shooter James Holmes on Thursday in the chilling 2012 attack on defenseless moviegoers at a midnight Batman premiere, rejecting defense arguments that the former graduate student was insane and driven to murder by delusions.

The 27-year-old Holmes, who had been working toward his Ph.D. in neuroscience, could get the death penalty for the massacre that left 12 people dead and dozens of others wounded.

Jurors took about 13 hours over a day and a half to review all 165 charges. The same panel must now decide whether Holmes should pay with his life.
