4 Students at Summerville High School in Tuolumne, CA Arrested for Plotting to Shoot & Kill Fellow Students and Teachers

Just days after a mass shooting at an Oregon community college campus, four students a the Summerville High School in Tuolumne, California were arrested for plotting to shoot and kill their fellow classmates and teachers. The arrests took place on Saturday by police. The murder plot was foiled on Wednesday when a group of students alerted a teacher after they overheard three of the four discussing a plan to open fire on the school. Those arrested had created a hit list of students and faculty members to shoot and as many others as possible.  According to accounts, the teacher then immediately told school administrators, who quickly removed the three from their classrooms and called the police.

Tuolumne County Sheriff James Mele stated, “detectives located evidence verifying a plot to shoot staff and students at Summerville High School. The suspects’ plan was very detailed in nature and included names of would-be victims, locations and the methods in which the plan was to be carried out.” Although the names of the juveniles were not released, the four individuals were all males and were students at Summerville High School. The teens are currently being helf in juvenile hall.

Four Northern California high school students have been arrested in connection with what law enforcement officials called a highly detailed plan to shoot and kill fellow students and teachers, just days after a mass shooting on a community college campus in rural Oregon.

The four, all students at Summerville High School in Tuolumne, Calif., “were going to come on campus and shoot and kill as many people as possible at the campus,” Sheriff James W. Mele of Tuolumne County said at a news conference on Saturday.

Sheriff Mele did not identify the students other than to say all were male juveniles. Tuolumne is about 120 miles east of San Francisco.

Investigators have found no clear motive for the planned attack, Sheriff Mele said, but he said that “the suspects’ plans were very detailed in nature and included names of would-be victims, locations and methods in which the plan was to be carried out.” The students planned to open fire during an event at school, he said, and “were in the process of trying to obtain these weapons.”

Officials said the plot was foiled on Wednesday when a group of students alerted a teacher after they overheard three of the four discussing a plan to open fire on the school.

Oregon Shooting: 10 Dead Including Gunman at Umpqua Community College (Update: Gunman ID’d as Chris Harper Mercer)

Following the mass shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College, 10 people are dead, including the gunman. According to accounts of the mass shooting, the gunman specifically targeted individuals who were Christians. As reported at CNN, the gunman asked whether individuals were Christians stating, “Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second. And then he shot and killed them.” The shooter has been identified as 26 year old Chris Harper Mercer. The gunman was killed in a gun battle with police after officers responded to the scene at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg just before 10:40 AM.

Ten people were killed when a gunman opened fire at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College on Thursday, forcing the nation to face yet another mass shooting.

Seven other people were injured, and the shooter is dead, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told reporters. Earlier estimates had put the number of people hurt much higher.

Multiple law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation identified the gunman as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. Investigators have interviewed members of his family and friends, they said.

“I will not name the shooter,” Hanlin said. “I will not give him the credit he probably sought.”

Authorities credited a quick response by law enforcement for keeping the death toll from climbing higher.

A law enforcement official said the shooter had body armor with him and was heavily armed, with a large amount of ammunition — enough for a prolonged gunfight.

Hanlin said tactical teams and bomb squads had cleared the buildings on campus and were working to clear hundreds of vehicles parked on campus.

UPDATE I: Shooter asks students their religion.

The shooter at Umpqua Community College on Thursday asked people to state their religion and then started firing, one student said.

Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old, told the News Review she was sitting in her writing class when a bullet blasted through the window. She saw her teacher shot in the head then noticed that the shooter was in the classroom.

Moore said the shooter told people to get on the ground. He then asked people to stand up and state their religion but started firing anywhere. She was on the ground next to people who’d been shot.

UPDATE II: Umpqua Gunman Chris Harper Mercer — What We Know.

Former acquaintances and social-media postings paint a picture of 26-year-old Christopher Harper Mercer — who was killed in a firefight with police at Umpqua Community College — as a withdrawn young man who spent a lot of time on the Internet.

Public records show that one person of that name was born in Los Angeles County in 1989. Police declined to confirm the shooter’s identity late Thursday, in an attempt to not “glorify” the actions of the gunman behind a rampage that left 10 dead and seven others wounded.

Investigators said it was too soon to identify a motive, though Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told NBC’s TODAY he wasn’t aware of any “specific red flags” for the shooter.

“He is a local resident and I know personally I haven’t heard of any warning signs coming from this person,” Hanlon said.

A MySpace page that appeared to be linked to the shooter featured Mercer holding what appeared to be a rifle while several other postings were sympathetic to the Irish Republican Army and featured masked gunmen and logos.

Arizona Department of Public Safety Director Frank Milstead said Merritt had been linked to at least four of 11 shootings incidents through a gun he owned.

“The weapon and man we believe was responsible for starting this spree is in custody,” Milstead said late Friday at a hastily called news conference.

Milstead spoke only for a few minutes and would not divulge other details, such as a possible motive.

“Are there others out there? Are there copycats? That is possible,” Milstead said.

Ballistics tests linked a weapon owned by the suspect to the first four of the 11 freeway shootings, on Aug. 29 and 31, Milstead said. Investigators had tracked down the weapon at a pawn shop in Phoenix.

Merritt’s Facebook page contains several links to stories about the freeway shootings, as well as several images supporting gun rights and video of him shooting a 9mm handgun.

Before the arrest, Milstead and Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery had labeled the shooter as a domestic terrorist.

Police arrest suspect in string of Phoenix freeway shootings

UPDATE I: Phoenix freeway shooting suspect Leslie Allen Merritt Jr. Says, ‘I’m the wrong guy’.

A landscaper arrested in a series of Phoenix freeway shootings told a judge that authorities have “the wrong guy” as investigators stood by their detective work that traced the gun to the suspect after he took it to a pawn shop.

Leslie Allen Merritt Jr. was charged Saturday with counts including aggravated assault, criminal damage, disorderly conduct, carrying out a drive-by shooting and intentional acts of terrorism.

“All I have to say is I’m the wrong guy. I tried telling the detectives that. My gun’s been in the pawn shop the last two months. I haven’t even had access to a weapon,” he said as he stood handcuffed in a black and white striped jail uniform.

But a charging document released late Saturday night by Maricopa Superior Court said that investigators determined Merritt had not pawned his gun at the time of the incidents.

Aurora, CO Police Department On High Alert After Dispatch Operator Received Threatening Call to Shoot Police Officers

THE WAR ON POLICE CONTINUES AND BARACK OBAMA REMAINS SILENT … PRESIDENT OBAMA, DON’T POLICE OFFICERS LIVES MATTER, TOO?

The 911 call came into an Aurora, Colorado dispatcher at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday and it was far from a call for emergency help. Instead, the call from an anonymous individual was one of threats toward cops and promises to shoot police officers who are by themselves. The threatening call against police was followed by shots fired toward police in Aurora Sunday prompted a safety advisement for officers in Colorado.

Really, is this what it has come to in the war on police under the Barack Obama presidency? This crap must come to an end once and for all. If Barack Obama does not go on national TV and support police officers and the work that they go to protect and server and put an end to this nonsense, then he is for it. It is as simple as that. Either you are a President of the United States for the rule of law or you are a community agitator looking to cause unrest and violence. Make your choice Mr. President. No response will be considered your choice.
