Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett Ambushed by 30 Year Old Edward Archer … Update: Suspect Confessed He Did it in the Name of Islam

In what can only be described as a heinous and vile act of cowardice, Philadelphia police officer Jesse Hartnett is lucky to be alive after he was ambushed at shot numerous times at point-blank range. The suspect, 33 year old Edward Archer, fired 13 bullets at Officer Jesse Hartnett as the cop sat in his patrol car Thursday night. According to reports, the suspect confessed and stated he shot the officer in the name of Islam.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross  described the attack as an execution attempt.

I just have to tell you, when you look at the video–we have video that captured all of this–it’s one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen. This guy tried to execute the police officer. It’s amazing he’s alive,” Ross said at a press conference Friday morning.

Authorities say a Philadelphia police officer is recovering after he was shot several times during an ambush late Thursday night in West Philadelphia.

Philadelphia police commissioner Richard Ross says the officer, identified as 33-year-old Jesse Hartnett, was sitting in his patrol car around 11:30 p.m. at 60th and Spruce Streets when a gunman fired nearly a dozen shots through the driver’s side of the car.

“Shots fired! I’m shot! I’m bleeding heavily!” Officer Hartnett was heard yelling on police radio.

Police are calling it an “attempted assassination.”

UPDATE I: Suspect Used Stolen Police gun, and claims allegiance to ISIS.

The alleged radical Islamic gunman accused of shooting a Philadelphia cop used a stolen police gun in the attempted “assassination” and pledged allegiance to ISIS as he confessed to the harrowing ambush, officials said.

Suspected shooter Edward Archer fired 13 bullets at Officer Jesse Hartnett as the cop sat in his patrol car Thursday night, police said. The five-year force veteran was hit three times and suffered a broken arm and nerve damage — but was still able to chase after his assailant and fire at the fleeing gunman.

Archer, who was shot three times by the cop he targeted, was taken into custody shortly after the attack and confessed to the ambush, police said at a Friday press conference.

“He stated that he pledges his allegiance to Islamic State. He praises Allah, and that was the reason he was called to do this,” said Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark.

Female Driver Hits Pedestrians in ‘Intentional’ Act … One Dead, Many Injured (Update: Driver Arrested)

One is dead and many are injured after a driver “intentionally” ran down many pedestrians on a crowded sidewalk on The Trip in Las Vegas. Many individuals have been treated at the scene in what authorities are calling an intentional act. According to one witness,  “Everyone was running … and as I was running, I saw a car up on the sidewalk coming toward us. I saw a lady, she didn’t seem like she wanted to stop the car, she had both hands on her wheel and she was looking straight forward.”  The crash happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. between Planet Hollywood and the Paris Hotel. Police closed the Strip is both directions from Flamingo Road to Harmon Avenue.

The female suspect is describes as an African-American woman in her 20′s with a 3 year old child in the back seat. Police have supposedly ruled out terrorism, how about a hate crime?

A driver careened into a crowded sidewalk several times on the Las Vegas Strip, killing one person and injuring more than 30 others, authorities said.

At least one person is dead and seven are in critical condition, fire officials said. Medics tended to 37 people.

Authorities don’t yet know whether the incident was an accident or intentional. The driver was in custody and was undergoing various tests, including one for alcohol, authorities said.

Rows of ambulances and police cars gathered at the scene, their lights flickering. A witness described a chaotic scene as people fled.

UPDATE I: The female suspect has been arrested by police.

The woman left the scene, but police later caught up with her outside the Tuscany Suites on East Flamingo. The woman did have a toddler in the car with her. The child was not injured. Police said she had been in Las Vegas for about one week and had Oregon plates on the 1996 Oldsmobile she was driving.

The woman who has not been identified is being held in jail with charges pending. Police are investigating whether she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Such was the case in Knoxville, Tennessee when  Zaevion Dobson, a football player at Knoxville’s Fulton High School, was “struck and killed after he had jumped on top of three girls to shield them from the gunfire of a shooter.  The three girls were not injured; however, this heroic young teen, described as as “success story”. Sadly, he is dead.

Rest in peace Zaevion Dobson.

Brandon Perry, 23, died at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was taken after he rammed a black BMW through the brick wall of an East Knoxville apartment about 2 a.m., Rausch said.

Perry and two other men were responsible, Rausch said, for randomly firing guns on Badgett Drive four hours before he crashed the 2002 BMW. Perry used the same BMW, Rausch said, when randomly firing rounds that struck Dobson.

Christopher D. Bassett is a suspect arrested in connection with three overnight shootings that resulted in two deaths.

UPDATE II: Tennessee Teen Zaevion Dobson Dies Shielding Friends From Gunshots.

The violence came in three separate spurts Thursday, starting at around 7:18 p.m. ET, Knoxville police said, when shots were fired at a house with two people inside: 46-year-old resident Lisa Perry and an unnamed 10-year-old.

Perry was hit multiple times in the lower back, police said on Facebook, and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child was not hurt.

Then, about three hours later, Brandon Perry, Lisa Perry’s 23-year-old son, and several other men drove to another neighborhood in Knoxville and “randomly fired multiple times into a crowd,” police said.

Those shots pierced Zaevion Dobson, a 15-year-old football player at Knoxville’s Fulton High School, who was “struck and killed after he had jumped on top of three girls to shield them from the shooters,” police said. The girls were not injured.

The overnight shooting spree came to an end just before 2 a.m. Friday, when Brandon Perry was shot while driving a BMW. He crashed the BMW into an apartment and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, which he later died of, police said.

Two other men fled the crash, and were quickly taken into custody. One has been released. The other, Christopher D. Bassett, 20, was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and violation of probation, and faces additional charges as the investigation unfolds. He is being held without bond.

57 Year Old Robert L. Dear Arrested in Planned Parenthood Shooting, 3 Dead, No Real Info or Motive for Murders and Obama Ponces on Opportunity to Call for More Gun Control

HEY OBAMA, HOW ABOUT YOU SHOW SOME RESPECT TO THE FAMILIES WHO LOST LOVED ONES, BEFORE YOU MAKE THIS POLITICAL?

After a 6 hour standoff with law enforcement, following the shootings that took place at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, CO, 57 year old Robert L. Dear surrendered to police. The way the incident took place, the suspect was either going to leave the building in a body bag or in handcuffs. Robert Lewis Dear opted for the latter. Dear is currently being held without bond on Saturday at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

Mr. Dear, whom the authorities described as 6 feet 4 inches tall and 250 pounds, appeared to have ties to the Carolinas. The police said they could not yet offer a motive for the shooting

Those who sadly were killed in yesterday’s senseless shooting have not yet been buried, their families, friends and loved ones  are still reeling from the shock and we really know nothing about the suspect, Robert Lewis Dear, his motive or mental state. But that did not stop Barack Obama from rushing to politicize the tragedy by calling for more gun control. Because a liberal never lets a terrible tragedy go to waste. And of course Obama didn’t, because that is what community agitators do. They don’t listen for the facts, they rush to push their decisive agendas. Mr. President, one might say enough is politically enough when it comes to your ridiculous, liberal actions. Obama is so quick to rail on gun control laws, maybe he first should follow the U.S. Constitution as a president. If the president actually waited long enough, we will probably learn that Robert L. Dear probably has a mental condition and some other factors that lead to this heinous crime and more gun controls would have prevented nothing.

President Obama on Saturday called for additional gun control measures in the United States, after the slaying of three people Friday at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado.

In a written statement, Obama said that regardless of the motive, it was unacceptable that these sort of mass shootings happen so frequently in the United States.

“This is not normal. We can’t let it become normal,” he said. “If we truly care about this — if we’re going to offer up our thoughts and prayers again, for God knows how many times, with a truly clean conscience — then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough.”

Obama, have some class and lets wait until those that were killed have had a burial. I am sure after that yo can find all the time to politicize their deaths.

Oh and by the way, guess where President Barack Obama was when he was first notified of the active shooter situation in Colorado Springs, CO … hold it, hold it, hold it … why golfing of course. I hope the issues of the world didn’t ruin his game.

Early Sunday Morning Shooting at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina Leaves One Dead & One Injured (Update: Suspected Gunman is Jarrett Jerome Moore)(Update: Deceased Victim ID’s as 19 year old Anthony White Junior)

THERE HAS BEEN ANOTHER SHOOTING AT A SOFT TARGET COLLEGE CAMPUS …

Breaking News over night is that there has been a shooting at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina.  The shooting happened at about 1:20 a.m. in Lot W near Wilson Hall and Gleason-Hairston Terrace. The police received a call from the school’s campus police around 1:20 a.m. Winston-Salem city police are assisting campus police with an investigation. One student is reported dead and another student has been injured in the shooting on Homecoming Weekend. The suspected gunman is said to be 21 year old Jarrett Jerome Moore, who is not to believed to be a student. The University is current on lock-down following the shooting.

It appears we have another college shooting where the suspect was not a part of the school.

One person died and another was injured in a shooting on the campus of Winston-Salem State University, the school said. Both are believed to be students at the university.

“The suspected gunman is not believed to be a current student. The campus has been cleared; the gunman has not been apprehended,” said spokesman Aaron Singleton.

Singleton named Jarrett Jerome Moore as the suspect.

Police received a call from the school’s campus police around 1:20 a.m. Winston-Salem city police are assisting campus police with an investigation.

UPDATE I: Lockdown has been lifted at approximately 4:50 AM.

UPDATE II : 19 year old Anthony White Junior of Charlotte, NC was killed and another person was injured in the homecoming weekend shooting.

Winston-Salem State University officials placed the campus under lockdown for hours Sunday morning after a deadly shooting.

Anthony White Junior, 19, of Charlotte, was killed and another person was injured in the homecoming weekend shooting.

Officials are searching for Jarrett Jerome Moore, 21, in connection to the case. Police do not believe Moore is a current student.

In August, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested Moore on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer.

If anyone has any information about Moore’s whereabouts should contact campus police at 336-750-2900. The university has also opened a call center at 336-750-2000 for inquiries into the shooting.
